One of, if not the greatest experience I've had dining. I've been to many Michelin star restaurants and this one stood out from them all. I had very high expectations coming into this dinner, and they surpassed them in every possible way. The food and drinks are inventive and imaginative. And above all delicious. The idea that they try to make the dinner a party is no exaggeration and it felt just like that. The staff was amazing and made everything fun. All the dishes had a story and meaning behind them and they worked together and made sense. The wine pairing and the non-alcoholic pairing were great additions and I highly recommend. The experience is priceless. (Oh and if you worry that you'll be hungry after the dinner, don't be. There's so much food)

It was a very fun atmosphere and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive w/o being overbearing. That said, it was very expensive for the quality and amount of food. It was unique and very tasty. Disappointingly, we sat at the chef's counter and noticed that many of the dishes sat too long at the counter before being taking the food out to the guests. Simply put, many of our dishes were cold. That was very surprising, especially from 2 Michelin Star Restaurant. It was a very nice experience, but it wasn't worth the money. Most of the food was really good, not excellent. Sorry for them and their guests. We enjoyed the food and experience better at the Masseria chef's counter, 1 Michelin star. Oh well.

My wife took me to Pineapple and Pearls on my birthday as a surprise dinner. I had no idea what we’re doing or where we were going but I was very pleased with this surprise. The entire experience from beginning to end felt very personable which made the experience a lot greater. Multiple people will come up to me and say happy birthday, and each server did a great job of making a connection while explaining the story behind the each course. There were eight courses in total. Each dish was fantastic some more unique than the others. The quality of the food is unmatched. This was honestly the experience of a lifetime.

From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, Pineapple and Pearls is a special experience. A hand crafted cocktail is made as you check in. Pictures are taken. Then you are whisked away to a lovely dining room that allows a clear view of the kitchen. There are only a few tables but tons of staff that have thought of everything to make your dining experience not only truly fine dining, but approachable and fun. The play list had us dancing in our seats. We were a party of six and there for a birthday celebration. So our three course meal started with champagne, followed by purses of caviar. The champagne was served in very delicate flutes. I will not ruin how the caviar was served but it was unexpected and delicious. As was each aspect of our meal. The thought, creativity and finishing touches were present with each successive dish. The flavor, preparation and presentation were pitch perfect. Our host spoiled us with the wine pairing for our meal. The sommelier was amazingly knowledgeable and thoughtful in her descriptions of each selection. It really added a nice layer to our enjoyment. Plus, she was super fun. I highly recommend experiencing Pineapple and Pearls. And no matter how full you might feel, you must get the truffle and caviar sundae as an additional dessert. It’s simply delicious. I will do my best to recreate it for my Christmas dinner. It was otherworldly and worth being overfull. There’s even an additional surprise after that! Enjoy!!!! A special note about the servers. They are excellent at their jobs and truly seem to like one another and work as a team. We all noticed and it made our experience that much more delightful!

Absolutely stunning and lovely experience. Best Micheline 2-star in DMV. The food, drink, storytelling, service, and atmosphere were all great, even the gift! and don't worry about the "4-course", it was enough food and variety. Mont-blanc pasta is a must have, what a various and balanced profile of flavors!! But the $195 Wine pairing is meh, can skip.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and it is quite that, an experience! Not only is the food excellent, but I felt like a kid dreaming up things in my imagination and watching them come to life! The decor, service, and presentation were outstandingly creative. I was transported into a magical dining universe, leaving me both enchanted and sated. The cocktails were top-notch, and each dish was accompanied by a captivating story or presentation from the staff. Highly recommend and I will be dining again!

I loved the theatrics and the ambiance of Pineapple and Pearls. We came in and were met with some pre dinner cocktails. They took our photo in the front with a charming Polaroid camera and made sure to take enough to give to both me and my mom. We came here for my birthday and there was a cute little card for me at the table. Cosmo and Aaryn were wonderful throughout the whole experience along with other staff. Although the cocktail I ordered (Gettin' Saucy With Gianni Versace) took some time and it was a little bit before our first course, everything was pretty seamless. We started off with the Beggers Purse, one wrapper infused with Saffron and the other with Beet. I loved both and loved the presentation, it was absolutely gorgeous and both delicious. While a little salty, I loved them both. We chose our next 3 courses, picking the Souffle of the Year and the Pea and Pea Chawanmushi. The Souffle was absolutely amazing. I tasted a little of the Pea and Pea Chawanmishi and it was also really good. Lighter than the Souffle and refreshing. For our next courses, I had the "Three Cheese" Ravioli and my mom had "Marco's Gnocchi". The Ravioli was a play on cheez its and were also delicious. They did offer me some truffle on top which was a great addition. I loved the gnocchi and the amount of flavor that they had. For our third course, we opted for the Japanese Surf and Turf and the Eastern Shore "Crab Feast". While these were enjoyable, I think I enjoyed the previous courses more. The Crab feast was simple and the tomato sauce paired very well. I did also like the flavors of the Surf and Turf as well. Leading into our desserts courses, we had the Epoisses Ice Cream & Hot Grayson Fondue. We had sampled a small taste before it was paired with some Dom Perignon on top. This was my least favorite course as the taste of cheese was just too overpowering for my taste. My mom had a sweet potato ice cream as substitution as she doesn't enjoy cheese and that was much more preferable. I felt as if mine was just a little too heavy. For our desserts, we had the LA Style Mezcal Pineapple and The Thrilla in Manilla. The Pineapple was so good and we each received a slice of the Mezcal Marinated Pineapple. I loved how refreshing the Thrilla in Manilla was. The coconut and ube paired so well together and was such a great end to the courses before. Finally, we had a lovely ending with some ice cream and Aged amaretto over flame which was amazing. They did bring me a birthday "cake" as well. The candle was butter and the cake was very similar to pancakes. I didn't really enjoy these, however, since the outer layer was just a little too tough. Overall, I loved the ambiance and the service was amazing. I enjoyed most of the courses and it was all quite filling. They did send us home with a midnight snack and a little gift box for our journey home. I don't know if the pricing was worth it all for the quantity compared to other two star Michelin restaurants that I've been to but it was a very enjoyable experience!

Had dinner here last night. It was a fabulous experience. The food was excellent but for me the service made the difference. Everyone was super friendly and kept it really light. Different to most other fine dining places due to the energy you felt. The little touches from the cocktail when you walk in, to the polaroid photos all added up to a very special experience. Pretty much every dish was excellent. individual servings seem small at first but with all the complimentary additions that were not part of the menu, you walk out absolutely stuffed. We were given 2 complimentary burgers on our way out. Decor is eclectic but I liked it.

One thing I would say is, it is a bit pricier than it could be for the amount of food. But I will say, surprisingly full and great service throughout the night. I would say the flavors of the courses started to fall a bit flat as the courses kept coming. But I don't expect Every course on a tasting menu to be amazing. As long as some of them have a wow factor. The small bites and appetizer was great. Best Gnocchi I've ever had. Lobster cooked really well and tasted great. And I LOVED the pimento cheese puffs (gougeres?). I could eat that for days. But for the meat dish, the cooking and flavor wasn't the greatest and the dessert I felt tasted ok, more concentrated on presentation & gastronomy than flavor. But as a full package, definitely worth a trip, a good experience, and definitely Top 5 Michelins in the DC area.

This was one of the most fun and unique fine dining experiences that i've ever had! My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday here and everyone at Pineapple and Pearls made it such a special and fun night. The first course that they brought out was called the "beggars purse" which they instructed you to eat without using any hands! For the next course, I chose the pea chawanmushi which was SO delicious, and my boyfriend got the lamb, it was perfect, there was no gamey flavor at all! The next dish was my favorite pasta that I've ever eaten, "Marco's Gnocchi" was truly perfection, each gnocchi literally melted right in your mouth, and the truffles enhanced the delicious flavors even more. We also got the "Three Cheese Ravioli" which is meant to look and taste like Cheez Its and I could not believe how much it actually did! I loved how for all of the dishes there is an interactive presentation such as a tableside saucing, or shaving of truffles, etc. I haven't even mentioned how their drinks are so cool and taste incredible. I got a cocktail that came with a bump of caviar on the side, where else have you ever seen that?? I also got one that had the flavors of a salad and I cannot believe how good it tasted. My boyfriend got the N/A drink pairing and I definitely recommend it, it was so much fun and they paired perfectly with the dishes. "Epoisses Ice Cream & Hot Grayson Fondue" was the cheese course and our waiter poured some Dom Perignon from 2004 over it, it was such a luxurious course that also tasted wonderful. The dessert that we chose was meant to have the flavors of a taco truck, I never knew that could make for such a great dessert! They also gave my boyfriend the taste of the summer rainbow sorbets because he had always wanted to try that dessert, they were all so flavorful and satisfying. The night ended with the best soft serve that i've ever had, butter popcorn flavored! The service here was absolutely amazing, everyone was so kind and funny, and they made my boyfriend's birthday so special, we will never forget it.

This is a fine dining restaurant. Service, Quality, Food were all simply beautiful This is definitely worth the hype and every 5 star is has ever received. If you’ve never been to a Michelin reviewed restaurant, it will be unlike any regular restaurant you’ve ever been to. I was a bit skeptical. But the experience and food is definitely worth returning to. We enjoyed every single one of our dishes and the little surprises in between from the chef. Our dishes included our first round of appetizers which were the Raw Tuna & Watermelon, and Lamb. Second round of appetizers included Gnocchi and Five cheese ravioli (maybe it was 4 I can’t remember) Entrees were Coffee - Parmesan Risotto & Wagyu that was literally melt in your mouth. Dessert - I’ve never tasted anything more beautiful than the Creme Brûlée donut with the pear sorbet. The only complaint I have is that the music was a bit loud and the chefs, & waiters are a bit soft spoken so we missed a lot of what was described in what we were eating. However, great music selection. Our mouths were very happy when we left!

Pineapple & Pearls delivers a commanding culinary and memorable dining experience that will leave a lasting impression on you for years to come. This Michelin 2 star restaurant is a standout that delivers the most perfect mix of fun, culinary creativity, magic, and perfection. It’s not just a delicious meal, but a dining experience that comes to life with their incredibly amazing food and beverage pairings along with the hospitality of their staff. P&Ps has an open kitchen so you can watch as they carefully attend to every detail in preparing each item. We sat at the chefs table and it was awesome watching them prepare the food. They accommodated a gluten free dietary restriction with ease.

This place is ridiculous. Excellent, adventurous cuisine. Favorite dishes were the gnocchi, monkfish, and campfire dessert. Surprises appear along the way. An unforgettable take-home gift. If you're interested in a restaurant that overperforms, this one is for you.

This might be one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. At the price point of nearly $500 and 2 Michelin stars, you’d expect every course to at least be good. Unfortunately, the meal did not get good until the cheese course after the four entrees were served. The best part was the soft serve which, while good, is not a revolutionary concept I’ve been to multiple Michelin star restaurants before and this was a huge miss. To list some specific complaints: - welcome cocktail - extremely bitter (though I’m not a cocktail expert) - beggars purse - crepes were extremely eggy, distracted from the rest of the dish - roast squab - the toughest meat I’ve ever eaten - inside out nachos - soggy and fried in stale oil - gnocchi - impressive technique used, but absolutely no seasoning whatsoever - cheese ravioli - extremely bitter - crab feast - fried crab pieces were also fried in stale oil As mentioned, the cheese ice cream “plate”, dessert, and soft serve were delicious but there were too many faults in the meal for the price to be justified. I might not be the target audience for such cuisine, and the vibes of the restaurant were nice with great customer service, but dining here has made me skeptical of all fine dining for the foreseeable future. The sign out front says it best - this meal was indeed, nothing fancy.

Pineapple and Pearls lived up to its reputation. I did not get to visit when the resturant was using its old format. The resturant atmosphere is light and fun with purple balloons on the ceiling. The kitchen crew were friendly and I chatted with a few during my meal. The workers were diverse and had parador of men to women. Alek, who was the head chef was such a warm and genuine person. The resturant made no mistakes that I could tell, but the kitchen felt a little disorganized for a two star. You get to pick your courses from a few options. I don’t really like that and prefer when the meal is picked by the chef. I was a solo diner and they treated me very well. They gave me both gnocchi and ravioli so I didn’t have to choose. That was a nice touch. So the food and ambience lived up to reputation, but the diner was short with only a 4 courses. I prefer longer meals with many courses. Would come again with friends.

What a wild ride! This is not your average upscale dining expirience. No gentle harps playing in the background no stuffy butlers attending on you. Instead you get flavor combinations you wouldn't expect (try the coffee and parmesan risotto, just do it) and pop music playing in the background. And there are some surprises that you're bound to enjoy!

Celebrated a birthday dinner tonight and my expectations were exceeded. I have never dined in such excellence and yet fun atmosphere. The food and customer service was spectacular. I felt like family, I felt like I was at a big party. It was beyond words. Thank you to Benjamin, whom served us and Justin whom took care of us with both great kindness and knowledge of wine. This is a truly spectacular place.

This place was a bucket list dinner and it did not disappoint! The service was phenomenal. Cosmo was our server and he took very good care of us. The food...amazing! I took some pictures of the meal but won't post them because I think part of the experience is to be wowed when the dishes come to you table. The plating was so creative and interactive with table side service. Best ravioli I have ever had and some of the best single bites of food ever. Very fun vibe overall and high recommend wearing all your sparkly clothes!! Will definitely be back.

Came here for my birthday and it was a the fine dining experience that I was looking for! Cosmo, Benjamin and Justin were our main servers. They provided an eloquent dining service with the right amount of flare and comedy that made it a phenomenal experience. Not only did I get the a Michelin star experience but all the associates added their own personal pizzazz. Lane made the most amazing expresso drink (adffogato). Ridley made some amazing cocktails. Leslie was also amazing as well and Shacai as the both adapted so well with me peppering them with questions about the meals that they brought out. The overall experience was one worth the price. And the customer service was worth all the hype. Highly recommend.

Absolutely dynamite! Fun, lively atmosphere yet intimate at the same time. Food was inventive and most importantly delicious. Service was fantastic and wine list is packed with winners (if not a bit pricey). One of this country's best restaurants.

One of the most memorable experiences. The experience started even before we got there. The way the restaurant communicated with us via email prior to arrival to capture preferences and any restrictions and how they welcomed us was top notch. Upon arrival the way we were greeted and treated made us feel special. From there on every interaction with the staff, the savory experiences, the ambience, made for one of the best expensive we have had at a restaurant in our lives around the world. Upon departure you still get more food to take with you that is completely mouth watering. I highly recommend this restaurant. And I hope to return soon.
