I have gone in 3 times and 3 times they have been incredibly rude: the two owners and their daughter. My fiancé and I made it clear when we went in that we were looking to custom design my engagement ring, and having never done that before, we would need some guidance (something you'd expect since their sign says "custom design and repair"). Before even starting the process, Joanna (daughter/designer) said to my fiancé that I seem difficult for wanting something custom. I brought sample images from Pinterest and Etsy to show the kinds of designs I wanted, spent just under an hour asking for her guidance, and she kept shooting down ideas and not offering viable alternatives. Mother/owner: just about as we were leaving the mother came out from the back of the store, looked at my fiancé and I, and said to Joanna "parecen hermanos" ("they look like siblings"). When I responded in Spanish, she looked shocked and wished us happiness. Father/owner: I came in one last time to ask how much it would be to resize an old ring of mine. The father asked me what size I need it, when I responded with "4" he smugly said "how do you know?". I told him I was just sized for an engagement ring at another store and he said "I don't believe you" and had me sized again... it was a 4. I highly recommend Market Street Diamonds in Foggy Bottom. They were professional, took the time to educate us about our options, were great about designing a ring for us, and were able to recommend fantastic financing and insurance options. I am THRILLED with the experience at MSD and how my ring turned out.

I called Rubini Jewelers to ask if they engraved anything other than jewelry. Fortunately, they do. I wanted to have something engraved on a windchime sail. I took the entire windchime to their store. They practiced on the underside of the suspension ring, then made the requested engraving on the sail. It's exactly what I wanted! Joanna was very professional and friendly. Though I went there for their engraving expertise, I would definitely return to purchase jewelry. They have a lovely selection! This is a great shop, and the people working there provide terrific customer service! Stop by their store. You won't be disappointed!

This place is really great for jewelry repair. They fixed a bent prong on an engagement ring and adjusted a wedding band. When I picked up the rings they looked better than they had in years. I don't have a lot of experience in jewelry repair but I was thrilled with the price they quoted. They had a lot of beautiful pieces on display too. So glad I found this place based on these reviews.

The young lady which I think was the daughter of the owners of this place was very rude. Was making smart remarks about my appearance the entire time. She also laughed when I was telling her about the ring and how much it cosyed However the owners who were a couple that were Peruvian were decent

Went in to get my wedding set and some other jewelry cleaned and a watch repaired. Their prices are fair and the service was quick but the service was...bizarre. I felt like the person helping me was negging my jewelry the entire time. She seemed dismissive of the fact that even if my jewelry isn't the most expensive (I'm sure they see much wealthier clients than I in Alexandria) I would still want it to be clean and cared for. Not sure if I would go back.

Absolutely in love with my engagement ring and Rubini's. We wanted to use my great grandmother's engagement ring and received a lot of push back from other jewelers. At Rubini's they were willing to use her ring, but we also found a beautiful estate ring we were able to experiment with and it turned out perfectly! The best part is it stacks so nicely with my great grandmother's wedding band and they worked within our budget the whole way through!

We had my engagement ring re-set and we could not be happier. Joanna was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and worked with us to find something both my husband and I loved. She presented several options but we never felt pressured to buy. The work was done quickly and was really well priced. We will absolutely recommend their work! These are seasoned professional with an eye for aesthetics. I would not trust my jewelry repair to anyone else.

We totally stayed here longer than we had to, because Joann’s personality is so welcoming and friendly. The jewelry we purchased looks great and the repair was done extremely fast. Joanne even noticed the dents in my ring and reshaped them before we left. We were looking for a trusting jeweler and found it here! Def will come return for this Red Carpet Service! :)

The Rubini team is the best. My wife and I got our engagement and wedding rings from Rubini Jewelers. They dealt with our neuroses calmly and made multiple 3D printed models of the engagement ring before making the final ring. The wedding rings turned out beautifully as well. My wife gets compliments all of the time.

Update: I've never changed a review before so I hope this gets reflected properly... I am changing this to 5 stars because I returned and got my ring corrected in size. Which by the way I would like to say a big THANK YOU for! :) Not only was the issue correct free of charge, but it was explaining to me as to why my other rings felt a little different and she still offered to change it even more for me. I definitely saw returning to this establishment as an option, but now it's an absolute must for any work like this I need done in the future. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately I am delayed in this review, but am leaving this now as I finally have a chance to sit down and type this up. I went to see them 3 weeks ago and I must say that they are extremely friendly, courteous and quick with their work which was greatly appreciated! And they do have some beautiful pieces. However, I am leaving only 4 stars instead of the 5 as one of the items I left with them was not properly done. I had a ring that I wanted sized up. When I tried it on it was definitely more snug than when I initially took it in. I didn't think too much of it then as my fingers do tend to swell on hotter days, and my other rings that I had on also were a little more snug. So I figured all would be well when my fingers were back to normal. Unfortunately the ring seems to definitely have been sized down to a smaller size than the larger one that I asked for. It is still wearable so I haven't looked into getting work done on it again right this instant, and I also worry that as it is an older ring, it may not be good for me to keep resizing it and mess with the material too much. Though I am at fault for not saying something while I was there I am sad to find that it seems the work that was done on my ring was the opposite of what I requested.

I had never had any real jewelry needs before my mom gave me a necklace and pair of earrings of hers. The stones were beautiful but the settings were dated. I didn't really know what I wanted or what could be done but Joanna walked me patiently through the process. They got the task done quickly and the price was more than fair especially because they couldn't order a pre-made setting. Whenever I have jewelry needs in the future I will come here.

If I could give Rubini Jewelers 10 stars, I would!!! With Joanna’s help, I had the MOST wonderful stress-free experience picking out/ designing my engagement ring! She let me swap out stones in order to get the perfect ring and helped us keep it all within our budget! Joanna was SO kind and patient. She is the BEST and the planet Earth is lucky to have her. Not to mention the craftsmanship was STUNNING to boot! I cannot wait to go back for our wedding bands.

Terrible service. Got a band new watch sized and the guy scratched up the links and acted like he didn’t do anything wrong. Go to Kings Jewelry, save yourself the headache of this place.
