Came for a birthday celebration and it thoroughly and enjoyable experience. We almost got a Cajun spice fatigue at the end of session as the portion was generous. We had the mixed bag, and a few other sides. The sides need to be bigger for what their priced at in my opinion. Overall it can get pricey dining here, but the experience was good too. Worth a try at the very least, and revisit if you like the spice and seafood. Staff was helpful with table order, requests and the birthday setup, although they seem under resourced. Keep it up!

Quiet lunch in Petersham, friendly staff and amazing portion for the seafood bags. Can't really say it was the best seafood experience as the blue swimmer crab in the bag was not really blue swimmer in my opinion. But it was a fun experience. The mixed sauce & garlic butter sauce were delicious.

What a disappointment…. Seafood was not at all fresh, I am 99% sure all were frozen. I had to complain about the moreton bay bugs because they stank! What kind of place that specializes in seafood, serves that kind of quality of seafood! Even the corn was frozen. I honestly wouldn’t be so upset if it wasn’t that expensive. But for those prices, you would assume you’re getting good quality and fresh seafood….. such a shame because the sauce itself was pretty good

Really good Cajun style seafood boils. A little experience with eating shell fish is required to have a great time. Usually a really good restaurant for big groups. It does tend to get messy so it's best you visit with people you're comfortable eating around. Mud crabs in the shanbang sauce with a above acerage level of spice was my favorite!

The concept is fun but the food wasn’t great. The seafood were not fresh and over-cooked and the sauce was too salty (and a little bitter?) for my liking (we took the 4-mixed sauce). The service wasn’t the best either. We came during their 50% off mixed bag Monday’s deal, and the 1st thing we were told was that there was a limit of 1hr seating, which we found surprising (we stayed 2hrs though, we only got our order 45min after sitting!). The staff seemed in a hurry and weren’t very friendly. All in all, the food was still edible, and the concept was interesting. I’d never pay full-price for it though.

Had such a great experience here for my birthday! I ordered the mixed bag of seafood with garlic butter and it was absolutely delicious! They didn't have any baby octopus but we were given extra prawns instead. The service was great! The lovely staff members brought out my birthday cake, sang to me and even gifted me a rose which was a nice surprise! Thank you Kickin' Inn Petersham for a lovely experience! My friends and I left feeling very satisfied and happy 😊 Will definitely come back again!

I love the concept of cooking seafood in a bag of sauce, dumped in a pile in the middle of the table that is perfect for sharing amongst the family. The best part is getting your hands dirty, and licking the sauce off the fingers afterwards. Food-wise, we went with baby octopus and one of the mixed bags from a good range of seafood options, cooked in the "sha-bang" sauce (all their sauces combined). The result was some of the tastiest food I have ever eaten which went really well with rice. Overall, we had a wonderful experience eating with our hands and enjoyed the intense flavours very much. One thing that would make it even better would be having the side of corn cooked in the bag with the seafood.

Previously had better experience in deewhy so went to try this store. Had a very disappointing experience. The crabs were smelly. They were not marinated well. Everything taste so blunt and just boiled. I understand it was busy but quality should not have been compromised. Moreover, ordered fried rice but it came after finishing the meal. Cocktails are Tried to complain but had to encounter unfriendly staff. Do not try the cocktail , such a rip off. Try other stores they are definitely good.

Love how Fresh and tasty the seafood here is! Two of us ordered a shared bag, extra Bay Bugs and 2 serves of garlic bread. Finished very full with around $94pp but it's worth it and i would come back again. Wait time could be a bit long during peak hours so my tip is to order side dish to start with while you wait.

Delicious!! Ordered take away back in May and encounter a little issue but Neha provide 5 star customer service and problem solving skills. I give 5 star for her customer service. 5 star for delicious food too. Will go back again if i go to Petersham.

Kick in and get messy! Fun way of eating seafood all over the table. Great restaurant atmosphere for party and celebration. The down side for me is, I can taste that the seafood I had wasn't very fresh.

The service was slow and terrible, they were nice enough but when half the tables meals came out then a near hour wait for the other half including one person not getting their meal I could not recommend this place at all. The two stars were for the quality of seafood and the experience of eating off the table. Don’t order the chips unless you want a bucket of chicken salt dropped on them. Avoid this restaurant. Was not a great end to a birthday.

Went here when i just moved to petersham. Love the sauce and prawns. Wanted the mud crab but they didn’t have it then. So decided to go with the blue crab but didn’t really enjoy it, the meat was very salty and didn’t taste fresh. I choose the mixed sauce.

The food was tasty. Staff were super friendly. Great place for a fun meal. Prices were a little high, but they had a special on the night we went making it even better Definitely going back

really good food, but most of it is shell and less meat, doing a lot of work opening the crab to get some meat. wish there was a more buttery base on the flavour list. pricey. lots of seating. pretty quite during the weekdays.

The sauce was awesome, but I was expecting much better seafood quality at this pricing point/portion. Nothing to complain about the flavour, it packs a great punch. However, out of all we ordered, only the mussels and peeled prawn were good. The shell of the whole prawn was soft and the meat in the crab was dry, and the bay bugs were just tiny... It would be great for anyone to try it once, but certainly not good enough for coming back again.

Had the worst experience at this restaurant. I have been here before but never again. Had a drag and drop bag with some Moreton Bay bugs. First of all the size was really small and then worse it smelled like sewerage. We were off our food immediately. Never wanted to gag at restaurant before. The smell was horrendous. Poor wait staff were not sure how to deal with the situation as it was clearly off and there was no manager to speak to. They didn't charge us for the bag, just the Martini prawns and drinks. I am very worried about food poisoning as I was served poo in a shell and it is very disappointing this establishment serves off food. Clearly more education on how to store and serve seafood safely is required.

One of the best place i ever been. The place where you don’t mind being your hands and clothes dirty 😂. We ordered big mixed bags and shrimp martini thing but couldn’t finish it. The sauce is the killer. I would recommend trying it with steamed rice. Its worth every penny.

Good flavours and interesting dining experience. Worth it for the half price bag. However towards the end when sauce and seafood cools off can taste seafood not that fresh. Overall, it’s an experience worth trying for.

I went with a small group of friends for lunch and we were quite excited as we all have been wanting to try it out for some time. Apart from us, there was only one other table so it was very quiet (I presume lunch times may be far less busy). Despite being quiet, the service was exceptionally slow - took a long time for them to take our order and we waited a while to receive our food. Unfortunately, the seafood didn't taste fresh at all, either very tough or very mushy - clearly it had all been frozen. On the positive, the sauces & extras were quite tasty. My recommendation is to go somewhere else if you're after decent seafood, particularly for the prices they are charging.

It is quite a unique experience to go hands on with saucy seafood on a table. I liked the novelty but to be a sustainable place to visit they should really up there game on some seafood items like blue swimmer crabs yabbies. Simply too small for the price we pay. Shebang sauce is extremely tasty if specially when you absorb it with baguette. Prawns here are generally great quality. Large and succulent!

I took my mum here. It was a casual and welcoming experience. Our waiter was extremely lovely. Seafood was tasty and cooked perfectly. We loved the lemon and garlic as well as the garlic and butter sauces. Will definitely be back.

Just delicious, totally recommend Their sauce is so good, full of flavour. This is a MUST in Sydney if you want to enjoy the best sea food!

As always, Kickin Inn never disappoints. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, but most of all, the people working there are the best! This is the best restaurant to celebrate any special occasion, but even if you have no special thing to celebrate, it is still a good place to eat to your heart's content. I will surely come back and bring new friends along to experience superb food and service. I rate this five stars and even more ! 👌
