Really
love
that
this
place
is
consistently
showing
classic
films
on
celluloid,
but
at
every
single
35mm
and
70mm
screening
I’ve
been
to,
I’ve
experienced
technical
issues.
At
my
screening
of
Taxi
Driver
on
35mm,
the
film
started
and
then
right
around
the
title
card,
its
just
stopped
and
we
sat
in
darkness
for
several
minutes
before
it
abruptly
started
up
again
from
where
it
had
stopped.
Even
worse,
at
screenings
for
The
Matrix
on
35mm
and
The
Master
on
70mm,
the
films
started
without
any
sound
at
all,
and
played
like
that
for
several
minutes.
In
both
cases,
the
sound
eventually
came
on,
but
the
film
wasn’t
restarted,
and
the
issue
wasn’t
acknowledged
by
staff.
It’s
frustrating
to
have
these
experiences
tainted
in
this
way,
because
it’s
very
rare
that
you
get
to
experience
these
films
in
their
original
format,
and
the
Ritz
is
one
of
the
only
places
in
Sydney
which
offers
screenings
of
classics
on
celluloid.
It’s
a
shame
that
they
don’t
seem
to
care
about
delivering
a
polished
experience.
