The nicest meal myself and my partner had while in Marrakech - the entire experience and service were an added bonus to fantastic food. Our favourite was the prawn risotto, which was some of the best food we have ever had. Our waiters were very attentive, serving us as the last customers of the night as if we were the first. The price of wine is more expensive due to location, but overall we had nothing negative to say about this gorgeous restaurant and could not recommend more.

Lovely atmosphere, super pretty and reasonable prices for the food, which is delicious. Great for a special occasion as they will offer a free dessert! The manager is very attentive and was flexible when we were late due to an issue. They had Moroccan wine as well which was great to try. One thing to note though is the bottled water is insanely expensive - 75 dirhams (€7) for 750ml. It’s usually 10-15 for 1500ml. Glad we brought our own and avoided that unnecessary cost! We loved our dinner here and would return! EDIT: the comment made by the restaurant below made me laugh a little. Obliged to buy water in glass directly from Italy? Really? So they also cook with that water? How on earth does everyone survive visiting Marrakesh and buying non-Italy bottled water?? 😂

A little gem. Down some dark alleys and surprise what you find. Amazing atmosphere and food. Well priced for its quality. Ask for Mr Toufik, he was our waiter and he made sure all our needs were catered for in the most understanding welcoming way

Sorry the photo of the dish is missing but it was so good that we couldn't wait 🤣 A real treat in addition to a special moment in a magical restaurant with attentive staff. The bread was incredibly good and I know what I'm saying I'm French. A very good little appetizer, a delicious fondant, just divine pasta. Eating Italian is a sure bet regardless of the country, it's not a secret but this is a real haunt where you have to go.

The best meal I've had in Marrakech. And I do love Moroccan food, but the risotto and the aubergine parmigiana were absolutely incredible. My friend loved the king prawn risotto and I had the saffron one. Everything was delicious, beautiful venue, lovely staff and nice subtle music. Couldn't recommend it more. Also good gluten free options.

I recently had my birthday celebration at Pepe Nero Marrakech, which was an absolute hidden gem situated in the old Medina. The atmosphere was beyond words - cosy and welcoming, and the decor was simply enchanting. It perfectly reflected the beauty of the place and its high-level gastronomy in perfect harmony. The food was a journey of different tastes and options, leaving me wanting more after each exquisite dish. The staff, especially Mr. Toufik, went above and beyond to ensure I had the best birthday ever. From impeccable service to capturing the evening's magical moments with the perfect angles, his attention to detail was exceptional, and he maintained a high level of professionalism throughout. To cap off the night, the restaurant surprised me with a delightful rendition of the Happy Birthday song and presented the most amazing and delicious dessert cake with a candle. They went out to make my time in Marrakech and at Pepe Nero unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful gem of a place—100% worth it!

Pleasant surprise in such a chaotic city as Marrakech, a corner of paradise IL PEPENERO, an incredible venue expertly taken care of in detail in its presentation to the adventurers of the alleys of Marrakech. The dishes created only invite you to taste, as does the wine list. Lastly, I leave my compliments to Osama, the dedicated, professional and good-looking waiter. I thank you all for the pleasant evening. Yuri and Elena.

An Italian in the backstreets of the medina Gorgeous decor, friendly staff on the door. I’d say the food was average, nice to break up the local cuisine but not the best Italian food. The service was quite inattentive as the evening went on, it took a while to take our orders. The ambiance is nice and people friendly though.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at this restaurant. There were 20 guests and the service was impeccable. The staff were very good and paid attention to every single detail. The menu was agreed remotely via email and I have to thank Omar for making my requests reality. As far as the cuisine is concerned, a big compliment goes to the chef for the preparation of the dishes, with refined flavors and a refined appearance. What can I say... just thanks and congratulations to all the staff of this restaurant✨ Ps the piano made the evening even more magical ❤️ Thank you with all my heart Needles

An absolutely gorgeous setting, with top notch service and excellent food! Highly recommend Pepe Nero when in Marrakech. A break from local cuisine that’s well worth it. Authentic Italian food, and a romantic atmosphere. Located on the interior of a small bed & breakfast. It’s no wonder the setting and food are top notch - the hotel & restaurant are jointly run by a father (a fashion designer) & son (a Michelin trained chef) team.

Beautiful restaurant inside comes as a surprise after walking down dusty alleyways to get there. Food and service were very good, but not one member of staff said thank you and goodnight when we left, which disappointed us and certainly not something we had experienced elsewhere. Those arriving seemed more important then those leaving

We had stayed here before in the Riad, and keen to go back and check out as was Italian then too. Starting salads were some of the best food we had during week whilst there. Kids & I had pasta and all good. My wife had lamb - it was generous and very good. A nice change or break from Moroccan.

Wonderful atmosphere . First of all I would like to give a huge kudos to the staff of this hotel, they were so much supportive and warm hearted since I was new to this place I didn't know much about the food so they helped me to decide my dish. Also the atmosphere in the restaurant was so soothing and pleasant. The restaurant is situated at a perfect place where you could both enjoy your food as well as take a look at the scenic views of the city. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to visit Morocco.

I give them 5 stars because I can't give them 6 stars. Barely ever found that level of service/athmosphere/food anywhere in the world and certainly not for that price.

  • 4/5 Frederik G. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice restaurant with a classic maroc menu as well as non native dishes Only 4 stars because our selection of wine was not available (twice) and the third option proposed by the waiter, appeared a lot more expensive when we checked out Tip: do a proper check of the route as it is a bit remote and lot of youngsters nearby the El Fna square trying to misguide you

Great ambience and good food. Getting a reservation for the next day was easy. They were accommodating on changing our reservation last minute. Friendly staff. We ordered the Leek soups to begin with which was very good. The pigeon pie was good but a little too sweet for my taste. The lamb for two was very tender but felt a bit dry. It’s a huge portion certainly. Their cocktails can be better. They call for cabs if needed which is nice. PepeNero is fairly expensive in comparison to Moroccan standards but a great escape from the hustle and bustle of a long touristy day.

Very nice restaurant, a bit more towards the category of fine dining. European style, and almost European prices. So expensive for Marrakech. However, food was excellent and the staff very friendly. I had the lamb shoulder for 2 and this was amazing! Also, the mixed Moroccan salad to start with is nice, as it’s a selection of Moroccan specialties to sample. One of the few places you can drink a nice glass of wine in the Médina if you want to. Wines are also European prices, or a bit higher even. Go here if you want to splurge or spoil yourself when in Marrakech.

The place is quite beautiful and very spacious. The scenery is charming and the restaurant is located inside a large Riad. We were seated in a patio under nice orange trees. Apart from that, everything was wrong. They have 2 menus, one for the Moroccan food and one for the Italian. We were a party of 6 and the waiter didn't provide enough menu for us. We had to swap around. A lot of the items on the menus were out of stock, which is understandable, but we were notified only once we ordered, there was some serious miscommunication between the waiters and the kitchen staff. Our party ordered drinks and we were left hanging there for a while, once the drinks arrived, they didn't provide neither bread nor butter not even some olives while we waited for the food. I'm not sure about the house policy on that part, but when you are in this price range, and about to make your client wait... And the wait was excruciating. About 45mins to receive the food. The meals then arrived 2 by 2, with a 5min delay between them. Overall it tasted low tier, the salmon was dry and vegetables overcooked, and the lamb wasn't really a méchoui. The restaurant's pricing and position makes no sense with this offering. We were quite disappointed and I would that the price/quality ratio is quite low.

I ordered 1 special dish Marco style which is like samosa, risotto King prawn, and lasagna. All the food is delicious, according to the price. But when I ate the last bite a slice of cherry tomatoes I feel something hard and cracking sound and I could feel taste of blood. I took out the slice of tomato I tried to bite and what I found Shocked me small piece of hard glass.... I call the waiter and told him, what I found in my food. First he like doesn't believe me. Even after I showed him the picture that I took when the food arrived. What the offer me as a compensation Is 1 dessert for free, which I tried to reject but he convinced me. I order the chocolate pudding but I couldn't finish it because we're full. What's disappointing me is the staff not really care if me or my son is OK after I bite those glass and still said it's not their fault, they didn't feel sorry and still said that impossible that happen in their kitchen. I still pay and even gave them tips. What I asking is not a free food. But at least pay some attention or even asking if I'm OK after bite those glass. Ps. Can see those glass is in there. And the dessert they offer to me for free as a compensation.

Amazing place if you want to try something different in Marrakech, it's hidden away in the streets. Contacted them via what's app and they were very responsive Simo our waiter was amazing, looked after us well and gave a little tour of the place Giovanni , the host and owner was very welcoming. He already knew us by name (through what's app) and kept the kids entertained. Cannot recommend enough

The restaurant it self was stunning with water fountains. The service was great too but a bit forgetful although we were the only customers at the time. The food was amazing, they had Italian and Moroccan food menus. I definitely recommend you to try the dessert. It was the most expensive meal we had in Marrakech but it is a classy restaurant. The main thing that stood out was when the doorman/security walked us down the dark narrow alleyway to our taxi.

Beautiful location, attentive staff. The two of us shared one dish from each of the four courses, which was more than enough. The stake was faultless. The celeriac ravioli tasted mainly of cheese and crème Brûlée did not have a boozy kick suggested by the name. Nevertheless all food was good

My dining experience at the Italian restaurant in Marrakech was absolutely delightful. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to the heart of Italy with its warm and inviting ambiance. The menu offered a mouthwatering selection of Italian dishes, and each dish was a true masterpiece. I couldn't resist starting with the bruschetta, which was bursting with fresh flavors, and then indulging in a perfectly cooked pasta dish. The homemade pasta was a revelation, and the sauces were rich and authentic. The attention to detail in both the cuisine and the service was remarkable. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our meal was perfect. The restaurant's atmosphere was cozy and romantic, making it an ideal spot for a special evening. I also appreciated the fine selection of Italian wines that complemented our meal beautifully. In summary, this Italian restaurant in Marrakech exceeded my expectations.
