We had a great evening at Dar Yacout. Group of eight coming for special occasion. The restaurant is popular and must be booked. At 700dh per set menu, it is targeting mostly tourists. The location in not easy to find and getting a taxi is recommended. The riad is stunning. The attention to every corner is evident. We were first directed to the rooftop for drinks - wine or cocktail were offered. Live music and sunset were a perfect start of the evening. Later our table was ready and we went downstairs for dinner. The tabled are arranged in the main court around a pool. We had light rain during the evening and were later moved to a private room. Both settings were fantastic. The set menu includes Moroccan traditional salads, chicken and olives dish, shoulder of lamb with cous cous and deserts. Wine and water are constantly topped up. Food quantity is large. Taste is (in the opinion of the people around the table) a hit and miss. Salads are mostly a hit - maybe few too sweet. The chicken is a miss. Lamb was bland but the cous cous was good. Sweets and tea were beautiful. The service throughout the evening was perfect. The setting and the service were top class. The food was abundant but the main dishes need a taste upgrade. It is a lavish experience and priced accordingly.

The setting and decor are absolutely beautiful. Atmosphere is great especially if you like live music played at your table during drinks and dinner. Probably 100% of diners are tourists, so much for authenticity. But this is a restaurant and the food is the issue. To summarize, it was just a touch above average. The size of the dishes was way too large for 2 people we hardly ate half of it. Cut down on show and quantity pump up food quality. All in all we enjoyed our evening.

This is maybe a 3 star place, but giving it 2 stars to try and balance out the 5-star inflation...this is not a 5 star experience by any standard. Food is mediocre at best -- these are versions of 'authentic' Moroccan cuisine but mass produced for a tourist audience. The wine is passable as wine. There's plenty of both food & drink. The decor is very nice, the service is so-so, the ambience is fine, the musicians are nice. Upon arrival we were whisked up to the roof by a waiter for 1 minute of photos (it threatened to rain so we didn't get to sit up there), whisked to a cocktail in a nice palatial room, then whisked to dinner where we sat for 90 minutes getting served our mediocre food and listened to some nice music. It is 100% a tourist trap. Which is fine in it's own right, and it's an 'experience' that isn't entirely unenjoyable...but if you care about good dining and authentic experiences, this is not the place. Cost was $130 for dinner for 2. Not outrageous by American standards, but pretty darn expensive for Marrakech. Value of the product does not match the cost. I'm a bit astonished at the number of 5-star reviews...like, these people have dined in actually good restaurants before, right? Is it just the thought that 'I spent a lot of money so it must have been worth it'? It's a silly, kitschy, expensive experience for tourists. No need to pretend it's anything more than that.

This is a real morrocan resturant, reservation is a must. located in a Fine historical Riad or Dar which means residence. Food is great, the quantity is huge, service a bit on the showy side but still impressive. ambiance is a plus, we enjoyed our time there. It is very expensive. But good.

The staff is warm, friendly & so welcoming, you feel at home. The welcoming drinks, followed by endless wine & the most delightful & delicious food, be ready to & fill yourself with pure culture happiness . This is must when in Marrakech.

Very beautiful and traditional restaurant nested in a spectacular “riad” (type of a traditional mansion house). There is a set menu which is well-thought and abundant but can be quite restricting. Very helpful and polite staff. The temperature inside was quite low when we were there, beginning of February - thus the 4 stars. There is a great terrace with beautiful views of the Medina. Definitely worths a visit.

Dar Yacout is the kind of restaurant you wouldn’t reveal to no one as it’s a jewel you want to keep only for yourself. During the years I visited Marrakesh became more and more popular and never changed the greatest service, delicious (and abundant) food and unparalleled setting. It’s THE “one thousand and one night” location for your dinner in Marrakesh. Thank you to the wonderful Manager and staff for the many unforgettable evenings.

I’m a word, amazing! For dinner they offer a set menu, and it doesn’t disappoint. A drink on the roof terrace is followed by course after course of delicious food (trust me, have a light lunch!). The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is everything you love about Morocco. If you’re in town, don’t miss this.

This is an amazing experience, you pay about £60 per person but all food and drink is included. You get more food than you could ever eat but we were told that they help the poor so it doesn't go to waste. This restaurant serves traditional Moroccan food, it has live music and it's also very theatrical a must see.

From the minute we entered this place we were mind blown. The decor , atmosphere and ambience of the place was absolutely stunning ! The service was great as well. Now coming to the food....it was average. It's a fixed menu and there was way too much food and it was sad to see it go to waste. I wish the portions were smaller. The cocktails I ordered was below average. The dessert was nice !

Amazing and everlasting memories I was there when I was pregnant and everything was beautiful relaxing amazing and completely stunning the menu it’s realized already by the chef and we get many appetizers before the main and desert so you really pay for what tou have it And the price it’s completely ridiculous when you see the other similar (or not) places Need to come back ASAP

Traditional Moroccan food in an amazing house. This place is absolutely fabulous. there’s no menu - its a fixed price multi course offering of traditional dishes. The cocktails and wine are all in the price, which we thought was very reasonable. You arrive to a wonderful friendly welcome and are taken to a rooftop terrace for to see the view and take some photos. Cocktails are served in a comfortable bar/waiting area before you are taken to your table and presented with a lovely meal by super people. A couple of top tips 1. Its a huge meal - for goodness sake don’t have a late or big lunch if you are there for dinner 2. Get a taxi. This place is tucked away in an otherwise pretty non-commercial area (or at least thats how it felt at night). If you walk you might really struggle to find it. 3. Book early. It is hugely popular, and quite rightly recommended in many of the “good places to eat” lists that we all google these days. It gets fully booked well in advance.

I very much enjoyed my visit to this beautiful riad. It was an unexpected pleasure, starting with the friendly welcome, the invitation to join others on the rooftop during sunset for a pre-dinner drink and then the great food that was served with skillfulness and taste. It was a rarely before experienced, understated and simply joyful evening where everything fit. The set menu made it easy to get into the flow as one did not have to make choices other than which wine to order (which I felt was a bit too much on the forefront of our server as he seemed a bit pushy about the wine, but I guess that's where they make their money at as I felt the wine was very expensive). The ambience on the rooftop, where a table was already waiting for us (we were 6) was underscored by local music and set a lovely tone for the rest of the evening. The dinner area with lots of candle light and the tables set around the pool created an elegant atmosphere, again underlined by a local band playing at a low level. Simply a wonderful evening and it will not be the last time we will bring guests here.

Magnificent ambience! Excellent staff, everything is of highest quality. Phenomenal four course meal, portions are huge. Very classy and chique, prices for the quality adequate in the higher field.

Very traditional evening. Loved the service and atmosphere. However not the best food we had in Marrakech. I find it over rated only for the food. When you pay that much (5 times more for an average dinner in marrakesh, you expect more delicious food.

Exclusive location in a very dodgy area. High level service, food is not that great and it's way too over price. Food quality doesn't match with the expectation, specially when you pay 700 dirham per person (fixed price). The lamb tagine was good. Not recommended to walk around

Fabulous experience. From beginning to end, the place is just so beautiful and the service second to none. We had the 5 course taster menu and my advice is go there hungry! You will need every inch of room to accommodate all the food that is presented. It's a very special place and I would like to keep it a secret. It deserves the highest praise.

Amazing traditional luxurious authentic Moroccan restaurant, the food is a set menu with chicken and meat and sweets and starters, a reservation is very highly required as they are always fully book. What a lovely experience.

Bizarre dining experience. The sheer amount of food waste is absolutely criminal. Place itself is beautiful and service was solid but atmosphere quite odd. Can't really put my finger on how/why though. The food itself was not spectacular (though not bad) and they barely run you through the menu before you start. With December 2022 exchange rate we paid 58GBP each including a tip which isn't bad.

A luxurious Moroccan restaurant, inside the riad, reservations are a must. The food is great and the quantity is large, the service is professional and impressive. The place, the design and live music create an amazing atmosphere. A really recommended place for the Moroccan experience.

Simply the BEST restaurant in all Marrakech. Elegant, romantic, with all the attributes of a three Michelin star place. They serve a tasting menu with a lot of food (a lot) so, I recommend that you can skip the lunch before dinning here. INCREDIBLE STAFF AND PLACE !

We should have left at the entrance when the doorman asked us three times if we could afford 700 Dh each to dine, but we needed to escape the continuous hassling that occurs whilst walking in Marrakech. A mistake! Once inside it became apparent we were stuck in an expensive tourist trap serving far too much very average food and cheap wine for a fixed but high price. On leaving the staff demanded a tip and the doorman was again rude. The location is beautiful but the user experience is like being taken for a ride.

I surely recommend this Riad for many reasons (food, accommodation, the viewon the roof), everything is exceptional. It's like a tiny royal palace. Don't miss it whenever visiting Marrakech.

A superb restaurant of the highest standards in Marrakech. Beautifully furnished and decorated, the rooftop terrace a particular delight. The owner-manager deserves a special mention, a most courteous, personable, well-spoken and cosmopolitan young man he would not be out of place running any of the most exclusive restaurants in New York, Paris or London.

Excellent from start to finish! If you didn’t like the food in because your taste buds are to accustom to McDonald’s! Great night to spend with family or friends! Would definitely recommend to all my loved ones. More details could be found on other reviews as I normally leave no reviews.

Great place to visit and have dinner, the experience the live music the setup is just magical, as far as food goes, we tried the set menu a lot of food and options, appetizers and desert were great, the chicken tagine was not good, lamb tagine was ok. So the place is definitely recommended for the experience and part of the food served which is a lot. Great for couples.

I really should have complained but didn't. The food here is abhorrent, if you want good food, give this a wide berth, I just cannot believe all the positive reviews. Having said that, the atmosphere is fantastic, a live Moroccan band gives it a real buzz. The building has a rooftop with great views, a great spot to watch the sunset with a drink. The restaurant itself is set in a courtyard in the centre of the building, decorated with candles and plants, a very romantic and lively setting (if that is possible to imagine?!). The meal is a set menu, no other option than this, and from start to finish, every dish is terrible. From overcooked mutton to bizzare tasting salads, clearly the food is mass produced behind the scenes and dished up. No care to flavour, to the quality of the ingredients, indeed to anything fitting of a decent dish, a chilling reminder of my school food in the 80s. Go for the atmosphere, but be warned, expect terrible food.
