The food was good but portion sizes were very small, and at €20/main, you don’t expect to leave hungry. The quality was lower than expected for the price. The dining room, however is beautiful and filled with lovely paintings. Finally, whilst it is completely understandable that the waiter may not know much about the tastes of the different wine options, it would be useful to have a few words on the menu as a description of each wine. Otherwise you are blindly choosing a wine based on the name.

Great restaurant, with some interesting fusion type dishes. My wife had the ‘berber shepherds pie’ and said it was delicious. I had the sardines to start and the mixed lamb main, and both were very tasty. I wish I had been brave enough to have the ‘offal medley’, you should give it a go!

Tasty, high quality food and great service (friendly, quick and explained in perfect English any questions we had with the menu). Lovely atmosphere on the terrace (book online easily to make sure you can eat outside if you want). Served good wine and reasonably priced given the quality of the food and service - highly recommend!

Excellent value for your money. Fireplace! Service was amazing. So many great dishes. We had the lamb shoulder, beef, seven salad sampler, dim sum, and more for under $100. Great experience!!

Excellent restaurant in the medina of Marrakech. The location is very tidy and the rooftop of really. I highly recommend to make a reservation for the rooftop, as it is always full. The mixed Morrocan Salads and the Sardines were a great appetizer and I highly recommend both of them. The Main courses Tride and Tajine were great as well. The staff is very friendly and competent. The stay in Le Trou Au Mur was very pleasant and quite delicious. You should definitely try this high quality restaurant in the Medina of Marrakech.

Dinner whilst on holiday, June 2023. All three courses were superb, the staff couldn't be more attentive and friendly, and for a fine dining restaurant, the value is sublime. Sardine starters are exceptionally good. Recommend highly to anyone staying in the area looking for a great culinary experience.

I really enjoyed my dinner here. I was dining alone due to the cancellation of a date. However, the staff made me feel right at home. First of all, there are not many places in Marrakesh where you can dine alone. It's often awkward. But here I was comfortable! Anyway, the food was great, but, above all, the service was amazing. After dinner, the doorman offered to walk me back to my Riad. I happily accepted. I don't think I've ever had this kind of service from a restaurant here. Of course, I tipped him. But he wasn't expecting it. I will definitely be coming again and bring some friends next time. My only complaint was that the 4 guests at the table next to mine were speaking loudly about finance and investment while everyone else in the restaurant was just trying to have a relatively quiet dinner, concentrating on food and hushed conversations.

I don’t know how to describe this other than complete perfection. This is exquisite fine dining at a completely normal cost for most normal restaurants in Marrakesh. We had the best service you could imagine, in a fine dining style room with beautiful tablecloths and music. Jalil was amazing, special thanks to him for making our night. He was so knowledgeable, explaining the history and composition of each dish, plus recommending the best Moroccan wines. For us, this was the best restaurant we have been to in Morocco, and it was so so affordable. Please go!

Fantastic tasty dishes, authentic Moroccan flavours with a contemporary twist. Had a incredibly lip my lips and tempted to lick the plate boeuf Tangia from the pot itself poured out on my plate. Exemplary service from the waitering staff, very knowledgeable and plenty of recommendations. Tip top setting on the roof terrace. All reasonably priced, even offered us with a porter to get us home safely and he is a training black belt karate master i have heard on the grapevine.

Had a lovely experience here. The opening times displayed on Google seem to be incorrect as it states open until 12 but they say 10:30. We arrived at quarter last ten and though they were closing soon they seated us and didn’t rush us. I had the pumpkin ravioli and chef salad which were both very fresh and flavourful. The lemon and mint juice was delicious. Very high quality service and great overall experience.

Had a really nice dinner on the rooftop here (booked in advance). Mentioned we came for a special occasion in the booking notes but no one seemed to notice it. The indoors part was really really hot so I would not recommend eating there. However, the terrace was very nice. Food was delicious and unique, our waiter had great English too. Can pay by card which seems rare for Morocco. Would come again though!

The food was ok, but nothing special. We had better lamb and couscous at our Riad. Service was very very slow, it took them 20 minutes to take our drink order. Then other 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive.

Very disappointed in the food . Nothing tasted good - everything from appetizer, main and desert was meh . We caught a taxi from our hotel 20 minutes away to get to this restaurant- which made the disappointment worst!

The best place we ate at during a 2 week trip to Morocco! The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. The waiter also gave a short explanation of each dish. Rooftop terrace with great views They serve alcohol

I went to this restaurant because it is highly recommended. the room is very sophisticated and the terrace, despite being simple, is pleasant in good weather. the service is impeccable, the employees are very professional and friendly. There are several cocktail and wine options but in my opinion they are extremely expensive so I was left wanting. my bad rating goes to the food, as a starter I chose a small pasta with cheese that had no flavor at all, even with salt I found it very weak, the chicken curry dish I also found very weak in flavor, what I found best was the fish during the day, tasty but without being too surprising. Even the dessert was disappointing, something as simple as 2 scoops of ice cream, in addition to being very poorly served, the ice cream looked like it had been frozen and thawed several times. For the high price I paid, I will not give this restaurant another chance, I was truly disappointed.

We are staying in Marrakech for a week, and we have visited this restaurant twice as it's literally on our doorstep. On our first visit, we ate on the terrace, which is beautiful at night. There are patio heaters, and they also offer blankets if you wish. On the second visit, we dined on the first floor, which had a lovely open fire The restaurant is so elegantly decorated and furnished, the service and staff are impeccable, and the food is fantastic. Highlights for me were the fish of the day and the strawberry and star anise sorbet. The meat eaters raved about their tagines. As none of us were drinking alcohol, we can't comment on those offerings. However, the lemon and mint is really refreshing. We might squeeze in another visit before we go.

This was very good place to eat. We were a party of three people. Can accommodate very few, therefore reservation is a must! We had brilliant explanation on what was available and what was recommended. Food was absolutely tasty and we thought we may not have desert! We were wrong! We ordered the deserts and that was a lovely finish to the evening! Would recommend this place.

Great vibe, good service, tasty food. Only desserts were disappointing. Food was good, esp the camel tagline. Morocco wine was okay, given we have had better elsewhere.

We only came for a drink and dessert. The traditional Berber rice pudding was very good. Warming and hearty and delicious. Great service. Nice drinks too.

We had dinner on the terrace here. A reasonably priced menu with a good mix of Moroccan and international food. Majority of us had the Mechoui and then a side of Mac and cheese - awesome combo. The mains and starters were great apart from the side of potatoes. The service was fun, the waiters cracked jokes and were in great spirits. Would definitely recommend this place!

A wonderful experience in the old city, After a walk down slim alleyways through local markets and dodging scooters this restaurant was more than expected. The service, food and rooftop dining was worth the journey. The doorman then walked us back to the taxi stand which was appreciated as we finished dining late. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😋

This was definitely our best meal in Marrakesh. The rooftop views were stunning. I had some of the best lamb I have ever had in my life. Wine recommendations were surprisingly good and I had no idea that Morocco had such a large wine industry. We also had an Earl Grey Martini which was amazing. The service was friendly and knowledgeable and as the night chilled us we were given blankets to keep warm. If you are visiting the Medina you must check this place out

One of our best meals in Morocco. The restaurant looks pretty. We dined on the terrace, very nice and peaceful. Great cocktail menu. The chili passion fruit martini was spicy and sour and delicious (I had two). Small but good wine list. We started with the pumpkin ravioli and tempura vegetables. The veggies were crunchy and perfectly hot and the spicy sauce was perfect. For entrees we had the roasted lamb (their specialty) and mrouzia. Both were quite good. The mrouzia was sweet and tender, like pot roast with toasted almonds, raisins, and honey. The desserts sounded good but we were full. Next time. Service was wonderful. He explained the menu and the local dishes perfectly. We had a great experience at Le Trou Au Mer and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Amazing food. The chicken tfaya and the meshoui were both fantastic. Not overly expensive either. Has a nice terrace too.

A little pricier but the rooftop is stunning. Eat the lamb and watch the sunset. They serve alcohol too if you fancy.

This is a great restaurant on every basis. Although we had a limited menu (because the restaurant is just restarting from a COVID break), everything was delicious and beautifully presented (with the exception of my girlfriend's fish, which was a bit over-cooked and dry - maybe best to stick with the meshui or tagines). The service was suburb and the ambiance on the roof top was great (with an interesting collection of music, played at an appropriately unintrusive level). This restaurant had been recommended by friends who had a similarly delightful experience. Difficult to find - they will send someone to help you - but absolutely worth the effort! (And very fair prices, also.)

The most wonderful experience. The best tagine we’ve had in Morocco, and thoughtful service from the heart. Will visit next time we’re here!

Beautiful terrace. Excellent service. Generous mixed drinks and a basic but serviceable wine selection. Some food was outstanding. Lamb shoulder was so tender. Offal appetizer was very flavourful. Fish of the day was a bit overcooked, but the sauce was very good. Pasta was a bit underseasoned. Overall, worth a visit and would go again.

Exceptionally good service and very good food makes this place a MUST go. Make sure you book first and ask for a table at the rooftop so you can see the Red City's famous sunset. Absolutely satisfied and happy we booked this gem!

Food was excellent, nothing wrong there. The lights weren’t functioning and were flashing for most of our meal. Making it a extremely annoying dining experience. Do not order a cocktail. If you ask for a dirty martini they will mix lemon and olive juice together. I tried 3 times and even went down to the bar to make the drink myself. I get we are in Morocco but at least know how to make a dirty martini if it’s on the menu…. 😳 that’s all.

One of the best parts of my trip to Marrakech. Great food and drinks, possibly the best, most charismatic waiter I’ve ever had, and the restaurant walked my party back to the main square. Also a great view. Incredible experience

I was sure that this was going to be an overrated restaurant, but I was wrong. It was better than I could have imagined. Everything was delicious- the fish, tride, sardines, and 7salads are way I had and enjoyed.

A gem in Marakech! We enjoyed everything about it. The food was really good and we felt absolutely cared by the stuff. They gave time to explain the dishes and everything was done with enthusiasm and a personal touch. Location is great and the rooftop ambient a Must Thank you

Great food, delicious wine and excellent service! Felt well looked after from the start. Tangia dish was a revelation! Lovely ambiance in the restaurant. Highly recommend.

  • 4/5 Olivia W. 1 year ago on Google
On par with other reviewers. Beautiful rooftop terrasse, food overpriced. We ordered the Moroccan pasta dish as a starter (berkousha?) and it had nice texture, but bland. Small for the 10€ price tag. Lamb tagine was very good. Beef tangia was decent; the cut of beef was very lean. Found an eyelash in the cous cous dish, which the replaced.

  • 5/5 Chris 1 year ago on Google
Very good food, mixture of traditional Moroccan dishes and international flavours on offer. We had the dim sum and stuffed calamari to start with and the beef tangia and M’rouzia for mains, all excellent choices. The cocktails and wine available were also great. Finally, the service was very friendly and timely. Definitely recommended
