I had a really good meal here! It's a quiet spot, and while the terrace seating is hard to get (it was full when I went), there's seats at the ground level. We had: - Chicken tagine with olives - Chicken couscous - Mint tea All for 140dhm. The portions are sized well and the couscous was filling! I haven't had the crepes yet, but it looked promising.

Between the Riad where I was staying and Jamaa el-Fnaa, hidden in an unassuming street, I found this restaurant. And I'm so glad I did. First of all the staff is very friendly, and it was nice not to feel for once that all they wanted from me was for me to open money. They seemed to care and were good hosts. And then the food; The Chicken Pastilla is simply amazing and I had something else there but for the life of me I cannot remember the name! It was also delicious. During my stay in Marrakech I went back a few times and always had a good time. Prices are very good and I really recommend this place.

Phenomenal service We came at closing time and bossman said to come in. Thank you for accommodating me and my friend. We ordered the brewert chicken which was absolutely fresh and tasty. I ordered the minced meat with eggs and tomato sauce which was absolutely divine. My friend ordered the rfissa/tarid which was explaining with flavours.. I can not fault anything at this place. Very humble hosts and perfectly cooked home food. Top top authentic food A must go place Thanks to madam for cooking the food for us at a time when you were closing

A cute little place with a terrace that we didn’t use because of the heat. I had the chichen cous cous, it was tasty but on the dry side. The waiters were really nice. They gave us a delicious cookie when we left.

Excellent restaurant. I'm Moroccan and the food was as good as my mom's 😄👍🏼 the couscous is very good, the tajine too but the pastilla is one of the best I've ever tried.

Nice 'local' place with its charms. Good service, great value and yummy food. A proud place recommended by TripAdvisor & Guide du Routard. They have a roof terrace but if you prefer a bit 'cooler' temperature, I think a table downstairs on the ground floor is better. However, it may be more noisy from the street. Highly suggest to book a table

During a comprehensive tour of Morocco, our meal at Cuisine de Terroir was one the warmest experiences of the trip! Hungry and wanting to chance a local eatery at non-touristy prices, we were received by friendly hosts. The juice cocktails were flavorful and refreshing. We enjoyed a nicely put together couscous and a shawarma. Recommend to try the tagines if you're yet to experience Moroccan cuisine. The plate of Moroccan cookies was a nice way to round off the meal. Of course, always get Moroccan tea with your meals! But what impressed me the most was their hospitality. Welcoming and genuinely smiling faces. A couple of lazy cats chilling around our table (and sometimes on the chairs) just added to the homely atmosphere. It's little experiences like this that can alleviate your overall experience of a country and impression of its people.

I really loved this place for a number of reasons. First off, while I hate saying this, it doesn't feel like you're ever being ripped off here as you tend to be in other places . The owners are super genuine and nice and you pay what you order, period. We were given some delicious entrees like olives but there were no surprises in the bill afterwards. The tajine was by far the best I've tried in Marrakech and I have tried a few. The serving was abundant and the taste was very good with the right balance of spices. Highly recommended.

Best Morocco traditional restaurant we had in Marrakech. We tried lots of tagines and traditional Morocco cuisine this time. I can say here’s is best with amazing flavor. It’s a family recipe, uses prunes, it’s the taste I like. Meanwhile, thanks for Moud and everyone to give us warm welcoming and nice service. It’s a lovely Morocco bistro and we had twice when we’re in Marrakech.

This restaurant is amazing, the owner is so kind and welcoming. The food was great with so many options. It looks like the locals and visitors alike love the food and it's a cornerstone of the community. There's even live music!! I would recommend this place as the first stop to eat to get to know the area and be welcomed into Morocco. P.S. ask for tea and biscuits and you'll have the best cookies you can find

Not only were they very accommodating for our large group of 14 (without a reservation), our server made the experience great. He told us all about the history behind Moroccan food, gave his personal recommendations, and shared a little bit about his own life. The food was great too and the menu had several vegetarian options for traditional Moroccan dishes.

Great for people watching! About 5 min from the Medina center so it’s very quiet. Food was excellent and we couldn’t have asked for better service. Pictured here is the “seasonal fruit salad” with bananas, apples, juice, and pomegranate arils

The food preparation is delicious. We had the vegetarian pastilla and vegetarian tajine. This is the only place in our trip where I felt that the Moroccan spices were put to use. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. They also have a rooftop. The place gets quite busy during the evening and you have to get in a queue if you want a table :) They were very accommodating with custom requests.

All the dishes were delicious with fresh ingredients and appropriately portioned. Friendly service, clean place, nice terrace, fair prices. A nice touch were the tasty olives at the start and a small Moroccan sweet at the end as complimentaries! Recommended!

Great vegan and gluten free options, delicious food and good portions while prices are lower than elsewhere. It is tucked away in a small street in Medina and the atmosphere is very nice, as well as the staff is friendly and accomodating.

A great find in the souk of the Medina. Family run restaurant with the best food I have eaten in Morocco. The staff is friendly, engaging and helpful. Our waiter, Hicham, carried on a banter with us through our visit and made it a memorable experience. We ate on the main level but there is a rooftop patio section as well. I had the tajine chicken with prunes that was spiced with aromatics and I asked for bread to get every drop. My friend had couscous with chicken and vegetables and we shared a vegetarian Pastilla (flaky and delicious). It’s not easy to find but is worth the extra effort. The family cat joined us but moved on while we ate.

I had the chicken and lemon tagine and it was the best I’ve ever had. Authentic Moroccan cuisine with unmatched quality/price. The customer service was exceptional, very attentive, brought some olives and seasoned potatoes before the meal and some traditional sweets after the meal that went great with my coffee. Will be back to try their other dishes, highly recommend!!!

By far one of our favourite meals we’ve had in Morocco! Everything we ate was delicious and it was one of the best vegetarian tagines and pastilla. Amazing service, Hicham was extremely friendly and welcoming. The prices are very affordable for the serving sizes and they also have vegan options. Would definitely check this place out when in Marrakech 😊

Original and tasty dishes with fresh ingredients and good quality. Everything is home-cooked. We went two times during our stay in Morocco because we really liked it. Friendly and helpful staff, specially Omar and the owner. The chocolate creppes they made are the best! If you are looking for a place where you can relax and enjoy your meal you should go there.

The place has a really nice atmosphere and the staff is really friendly, I heard them speak several languages (English is the one that suited me but they were also fluent in Spanish, French and Arabic as far as I could tell). They have asked us from the start if we had time because the meal could take a while but honestly it was faster than expected. It was nice that they respected our time. The vegetarian tajine was really good and well seasoned, but the chicken tajine didn’t feel like it was enough, could use a bit more veggies on it. We ordered mint tea, which was also good but could be a bit stronger. Overall the experience was really good, and they have fair prices. If you have the option, sit at the terrace, it’s really nice there!

We asked for a table upstairs but they told us there was no one even if we knew it was not true (right after us they let other people up). Once we ordered, we were welcomed with a free small portions of lentils which I loved. Then I ordered a chicken tajine, it was tasty and well seasoned. Overall, service not very attentive but good quality of food.

Great location just off the main square. Great host and an awesome terrace that allows for a view and people watching! Food is great, and fairly priced. We came back to this place a few times as it became a good to spot after the hustle of the main square. Enjoyed the chicken taco and chicken skewer. Moid (host/waiter) was amazing. Gracious host who has some of the best mint tea pours in town!

We had a fantastic experience at this unassuming, vegetarian-friendly restaurant in the heart of the Medina, close to the main square. We found the service to be excellent (all staff spoke multiple languages - one even spoke 8!) and the food great value for money. The crepes amlou were particularly good!

Out of all places we have been in the area, this probably my least favourite. We had the chicken pastilla, beef tagine and chicken and lemon, olive tagine. Beef was dry and not fresh, chicken one was way too salty. Lastly, the pastilla was disaster, chicken so dry inside, no flavour just pure sugary taste. I do not see the reason why the rating and would not recommend.

Had shawarma and the chicken pastilla, neither of which were particularly flavorful. A couple of my french fries tasted like fish, which, knowing what I know about the fish jere, kinda ruined the whole thing for me. Probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

This is a solid spot near the medina, probably the best Tajines we've had in Morocco so far. The service is quick, friendly, and helpful with suggestions on what to eat. They also have interesting juice options and a 48-spice coffee which was very unique. Recommended!

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, this restaurant is a MUST when visiting Marrakech, and is super close to Jamaa El Fna. We had a Trid Tajine ( Refissa ), and a meat Tajine , both were very tasty. The traditionnal moroccan tea and sweets were great as well.

  • 3/5 Gabriella C. 4 years ago on Google
The food was good, but quite disappointing in terms of portions , as I would expect a bit more . (See pics) Other than that, the atmosphere and the terrace was calm and cozy and surprisingly staff were very warm and welcoming. Touristic prices but acceptable. I must say that overall is okay, although I d rather choose another place to have dinner.

This is my first comment in map. This is the best restaurant I have had in Marrakech in 7 days and the taste is different from the others, so I am impressed! I remember we sit next to a very large family, and the owner was worried about the noise and asked if we needed to change seats. Although we refused, we were touched by such a service attitude ☺️. They gave us cookies, and we remembered the restaurant. For the last meal of our last day in Marrakech, we decided to come to this restaurant again because its tastes was really good! The owner recognized us and was very happy. He told us that he would give us a big surprise later! So he brought us a big special snack, and I was really, really happy. Before, my friend asked me how I would give score for Marrakech and I told her 80. When I saw the surprise, I thought Marrakech deserved 90. I really like the owner, he is a very nice person and it is very memorable for me.

This is a wonderful cafe that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech. The owner and staff and so warm, welcoming and very attentive. The food is lovely too and their presentation of the food is beautiful! We really appreciate their attention to detail. The Semoule Amlou was incredible and definitely worth trying if you’re a tourist looking to try something new (it is traditional Berber food). It is so delicious that we went back the next for more! Their prices are very reasonable and they’re in a great location too as it’s very close to the main square but tucked away on a quieter street. Thank you! 🙏
