I would say only stay here if you can speak local Arabic or French!! Any simple question is extremely hard work for example “can you check my restaurant booking time” never left so stressed after asking such a simple thing. Reception are no help at all. Asked to speak to manager to deal with minor issues as I could not get through to the staff and never heard from them as staff was doing everything to go around it. Would say this hotel is around a 3star hotel experience very over rated and over priced for what it is. This is my fifth trip away this year and honestly this was by far the worst due to how the staff were. I feel like the baggage guys are the most helpful and speak the best English they should be on the front desk as they go far and beyond to help you with any needs or issues as much as they can. Sofitel really need to look into this hotel. I also agree with other people regarding pool area takes a good 40 minutes to receive a bottle of water. I still have another 2 nights while typing this so I may still have to edit this depending how check out goes 🙂.

Hotel with potential, but beware billing issues and prepare for little customer service. Visitors with non-local credit cards should be aware that the hotel now automatically charges you in foreign currency, but for a 3.5% markup. They do not ask like any other merchant would. In the current era where travelers often have no foreign currency fee cards, it’s an unpleasant surprise. Staff informed me that the automatic conversion without asking the customer what currency to pay in is policy. I stayed here twice recently, and rarely post negative reviews, but this otherwise acceptable hotel had too many basic, fixable issues. Staff and managers do nothing to actually fix problems, but will dig the hole deeper and leave you frustrated. On a previous trip they were unable to provide a receipt and I had to call back several times to finally get one by email. Also prepare to either spend time confirming billed amounts are correct, or just not mind being overcharged. Value of a guest’s time seemed a foreign concept, whether when resolving issues or just waiting for something like a drink by the pool. The hotel otherwise is acceptable, with clean, spacious rooms that work for multi-day stays and a very large pool. The gym is what international travelers would expect at a 3-star, but might get one by. Housekeeping are very attentive if you go to them directly, but seemed not connected to the desk. This hotel could deserve 5 star reviews, but especially for a place operating under an international brand, has a lot of work to do to be competitive. I would think twice before staying here again or recommending it to anyone else.

An absolutely filthy hotel. I was given a filthy hotel room with mold all around the bathroom, dirt on the walls, various liquid stains on the ground, and stains on the bed. There was constant dragging noise from the upstairs neighbour all night, like someone was dragging a couch or chair across a wooden floor. I found it really hard to sleep. The staff's attitude was horrible. Staff were so unfriendly. On check out, they accused me of taking something from the minibar. I told them I didn't, as I hadn't. They kept asking me, and asked me to sign a CONTRACT saying that I didn't use anything from the minibar. A horrible experience.

Nice, pleasant place in a great location. Staff were amazing and very helpful especially the concierge team led by Adil. Breakfast staff were also fab and Farah did a great job whenever we needed anything. Highly recommend this place.

Pure. Hell. No one there understand even the most basic question. No solutions, no help about anything. Bad ambient music and terrible spa smell everywhere. overpriced buffet. No one there in July, but a bottle of water still takes 45min to arrive on the table. Now on day 4. list every problem is already too long. Please DO NOT THANK ME for sharing my opinion. will never visit again. (Orangerie restaurant manager is sweet and professional. She deserves better than this place)

Stayed at this place for a week last October 2019 and lemme tell you, it is one of most amazing hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Amazing staffs working there and they were very friendly and professional. The lobby was spacious and clean. Although if you want to have a lunch there make sure to understand a lil bit of French or have a handy translator since the menu is in French (had a hard time translating what I want to order) and some staffs we encountered had a hard time telling us this food and that but overall it didn’t affect the experience. The staffs did their best~! Their spa was great too (a bit pricey but it was okay!). Overall had a wonderful stay there and definitely recommend this hotel to tourists and travelers out there who wants to make the most out of their vacation in Marrakech!

Pros: Beautiful hotel facilities and outstanding service provided by the staff. Amazing breakfast with an overwhelming variety of food. All of this is what I would expect of a 5-star hotel. Cons: Very expensive. Issue: I booked a room with a view of Koutoubia mosque but instead got an obstructed pool-side view. To make things worse, there was a sewage smell coming from the either the shower drain or toilet.

Unfortunately our stay here has not started well. Communication is poor and disorganised. We arrived around 16:30 and our room was not ready even though check-in time starts at 15:00. We were told to sit and wait without much communication. Our room was finally ready after 30+ minutes. Despite being 2 hours past the stated check-in time, we were not offered anything (a drink, discount, etc). We had to ask several times about the room and kept being passed between different people at check-in. There was no genuine apology or offer to make things right. For a 5 star resort, you would expect at least a gesture of good will. After getting no offer, we asked for a late check out given the 2 hour delay which they did agree to.

Absolutely not a 5-star hotel. Breakfast food is really bad. Salad is at least few days old (brown lettuce, wrinkled cherry tomatoes). Nuts are mouldy. Food gave us upset stomach 2 days in a row. The only fresh thing they serve is eggs which are not cooked well. Everything else looks like reheated from the day before. Some food is clearly off and tastes weird/sour. When complained about breakfast to 3 different people none of them took it seriously. Service is nowhere to 5 star. Receptionist was very rude. We booked the rooms online and paid in advance, but receptionist called us and asked us to pay again to them directly because they didn't receive the payment from the agency. When we refused she asked us to call the agency to pressure them to release the payment. She was very rude and raised her voice. Everything else is overpriced. 6 euros for a bottle of water by the pool. 18 euros for one meal to the room. Hotel doesn't allow to bring food to the room from somewhere else. This hotel is not worth one third of the price we paid.

Thankyou to Mohammed & the other waiters around the pool area, so helpful and friendly and always have a smile! Although I’m not sure how with the clothes they have to wear in this heat :) I think smart shorts and short sleeved shirt would be much more suitable however the stays been lovely and I would recommend this hotel it’s very well kept the only down side is the prices the food is extremely expensive for what you actually receive & the drinks are just extortionate room service was £40 for just 2 vodkas with apple juice and £20 just 2 apple juice. £16 a cocktail & £24 a margarita pizza Also when we arrived we was charged £75 as we checked in for city tax which we then found out this isn’t a must as you pay the taxes with any purchase anyway :) Other than the little hick ups here and there it was lovely

This place was amazing. We stayed here for a trip for approximately 3 weeks. This place is super clean and smells clean. The staff were friendly and greeted me in a very professional manner. The lobby was comfortable and spacious. They brought tea and a warm rag to relax me after my long travels. The food was amazing (minus the flys) I would recommend family and friends stay here if they are visiting Marrakech.

We spent one night at this absolutely fabulous hotel for our honeymoon and oh my goodness what can I say other than if you are ever in Marrakesh then it’s a must stay place. We ate at l’orangerie restaurant and I don’t think I’ve ever been to a better restaurant. The staff are polite and courteous. The service and attention we got was incredible and the most amazing food. Fillet of beef was fantastic as was our desserts. Highly recommend this. Would definitely visit again.

The best meal we’ve had since arriving was at Orangerie. The seafood is absolutely delicious and so fresh. The staff is wonderful and kind. The view overlooks the city and a rooftop pool. The photo opportunities are endless! Chefs kiss**

We dined the orangerie for our first night, the setting was beautiful, and the live band set the mood perfectly. We both had lamb which was delicious and very satisfying, the wait staff were excellent at making us feel welcome and it was a wonderful evening.

Very relaxing vibes by the pool however the pool food menu is very expensive for what you get. All surrounding areas are very well kept and very clean. Our room was serviced impeccably twice a day. Staff always at hand to help, in particular Hicham who was so friendly, spoke good English, spent time helping us choose wines we liked and is very hard working.

I grabbed a day pass for the pool at the Sofitel. Luxury and beauty was all around me. The service was wonderful - every person on staff was ready to accommodate us. Food was good. Drinks were even better. Would go back in a heartbeat!

I have stayed at this Sofitel a few times. It is an excellent hotel located in a beautiful high-end neighborhood. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping to restaurant servers are top and very attentive. I was particularly impressed with Ikram, the manager, and Adil at the front desk. Lubna in housekeeping was nice and very professional, and always greeted guests with a smile and ready to serve. The team here addresses issues right away. The staff at L' Oasis restaurant with whom I got to speak often, including Abdellali (manager), Ilyass, Hicham, Said, Hanane, Naoufel, Hamza and Noureddine, were outstanding. The rooms are nice and clean, with great housekeeping service, but the big drawback is that there are no work desks in the rooms. This makes it difficult to be productive while staying at this hotel. One has to go out in the open/public spaces to work, which is not practical, especially in this age of Zoom and online meetings.

Faced a horrible experience at check in. Arrived at 2:30 pm for check in. was greeted nicely and all formalities completely quickly. Then told room is not ready and would only be available at 3. Waited and waited and waited and then followed up at 3:30 and was told still not ready. At 4 pm I expressed a lot of anxiety as I had taken an overnight flight and drove 3 hours to reach the hotel. Upon inquiring again after 4, the check in staff showed their total lack of knowledge as the shift had changed. Room key was then provided. Otherwise it was an as usual comfortable stay. Property is great and the staff are extremely courteous and friendly. Have stayed at this property a dozen times. Please do something about the check in process and transparency of the staff so customers don't experience a first hand bad experience.

This hotel is incredible. Said & Hassan are doing an incredible job running and managing this hotel. Fatima at customer service is an absolute gem of a human and genuinely looks out for her guests. Hicham at the pool lounge is amazing! He is so attentive to his guests and is so caring. He always has a smile on his face and is always so kind. I recommend this hotel 100% and will be back soon. A 10/10 for me! Much love from Toronto Canada

We came to Sofitel Marrakech for Honeymoon post a 15 day GAdventures tour around Morocco. The Pool lounge service guys made it amazing! Hicham, Ilyas, Rachid, Simo and Karim were all so helpful. The reception did an excellent job of getting us an amazing room upgrade, but they didn’t explain how the facilities and our half board worked very well. Rachid explained the exactly how it worked for us at lunch time on our 2nd day. All in all we were pleasantly surprised. It was a lovely end to our honeymoon!

We spent a few days at the hotel with my family. Needless to say, it was an amazing experience. The rooms were clean, the staff was nice, the pool was amazing. And it was nice to spend some time unwinding after a day of exploring the beautiful city. I recommend this place 10/10

I recently stayed at the Opera Suite of this hotel with my family for one night. The suite was impressively spacious, impeccably clean, and the hotel overall boasts great service and delicious food. The staff was notably friendly and always willing to help. However, potential guests should be aware that the hotel is situated on a bustling street with considerable traffic noise. Additionally, there's a nearby restaurant that plays music loudly until the late hours. Unfortunately, this made our nights rather restless until the hotel graciously moved us to a quieter room. Despite the noise issue, the hotel's cleanliness, service, and food offerings are commendable. If considering a stay, it might be worthwhile to request a room away from the street or the nearby restaurant to ensure a peaceful night's sleep.

"Exceptional service" I was blown away by the level of service at this hotel and spa. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making my stay memorable. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the personalized welcome amenities to the turn-down service in the evenings. The spa treatments were expertly executed, and I left feeling like a new person. This is the kind of place where you'll watch to return again and again.

I visited the hotel in early April with my husband and my daughters. It has taken me a while to write a review but it does not take the shine away from the wonderful experience we had. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but by far this one has been my favourite. Thank you to all the staff specially in breakfast, pool and the lobby area for always making my daughters smile. Unknowingly we visited Marrakech during holy month of Ramadan. Despite the heat, not even once we were given anything but a smile. That is something that will stay with me forever. We were given a junior suit with a massive balcony. I cannot tell you enough how amazing this room was. To the point, that my husband and I are considering to visit this hotel once a year. Once more, thank you to all the staff in Sofitel. Nawal

We go to the restaurant of this hotel for dinner from time to time my wife and I. We have always been very well received, the waiters are nice, especially Kebir, Siham, Benali, Sakina... The fragrance of fleur d’oranger envelops on arrival through the palatial and sumptuous hotel foyer, where professional and courteous concierge staff wait to greet you and offer refreshments as you check in. This veritable oasis in the the heart of terracotta and sunbathed bed of Marrakech, offers a suitable avenue, from which to explore new and old Marrakech. The staff in attendance poolside are friendly, attentive and capable to promptly serve a myriad of cooling beverages. The rooms were luxurious and beds heavenly to collapse onto with vistas of the beautiful jardin and piscine.

I was told there are no rooms that don't face the pool area, where there a bar and party music at night that shakes the walls. Not classy. Not a place for business travelers, or families, or people who like sleep, or anyone with decent taste in music.

During my stay at the hotel, I encountered a situation that left me less satisfied with the overall experience. I found the service provided by one particular receptionist, Adel, to be somewhat lacking in professionalism. This did not overshadow the positive aspects of my stay, but I believe it's essential for the hotel management to be aware of such incidents to ensure consistently excellent service for all guests in the future.

Check-in was smooth and easy. The lady at the front desk (I forgot her name was but she had brown hair) was very nice, well-spoken, and welcoming. She did a fantastic job of getting us checked in very quickly and immediately offered us refreshing Moroccan mint teas after we said that we were off to a bad start at the airport because the airline lost our luggage. She was very eager to assist and willing to go the extra mile for guests. She even gave us a free room upgrade upon learning that it was our first time in Marrakech. It was a sweet treat, as I celebrated my birthday on that week as well. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom felt luxurious and amazing. My only concern was that there were not enough toiletries for two people, but it was easily solved by asking for it from housekeeping staff. Breakfast was superb and had a lot of selections. My other concern was that it could take you a while to get the staff’s attention for tea or coffee when place fills up. Otherwise, the quality of the food was second to none. We also booked ourselves in for a relaxing afternoon at the hotel spa. We went for the hammam and whole body massage and I have to say, it was one of the best scrubdowns and massage I’ve ever had in my life. Every penny that I paid for that service was absolutely worth it. My therapist (Zena from Tunisia) was very adept and skillful about finding my sore and tense spots. I left the spa feeling like a new man. Shame that we weren’t able to use the heated pool, but I’m sure that could have been class as well. Overall, I had a dream stay in Sofitel Marrakech and I’m already looking forward to coming back next year. 😁

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Marrakech the Orangerie, the food is always fantastic, and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are great and always efficient, happy and polite great thanks to Hicham Ziyou the head waiter for his rigorous and professional service, I would also like to thank the head barman Tarik for the amazing cocktails the manager souhila and her assistant sihame for hosting us. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Marrakech.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sofitel Lounge and Spa Marrakech, and I cannot express how exceptional my experience was. From the moment I walked through the hotel doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The attention to detail and luxurious ambiance of the hotel is truly remarkable. The design of Sofitel Lounge and Spa perfectly blends modern elegance with traditional Moroccan elements, creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated and equipped with every comfort imaginable. I was lucky enough to have chosen this beautiful hotel. I cannot express how wonderful it is . Its rooms offer terraces or balconies with views of the mountains and had all necessary amenities. The hotel also has a swimming pool and gardens. THere is restaurants serving local and international cuisine, bars, a nearby nightclub, a poolside snack bar, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center with a Jacuzzi, and a Turkish steam bath and gym. The quality of the food was more than perfect. Perfect service and excellent welcoming. The friendliness and kindness of its staff. Every time I get the chance I will go to this amazing place.
