This
is
a
beautiful
Riad
with
typical
Morrocan
interiors.
By
no
means
cheap
and
cheerful,
it
sits
at
the
high
end
of
the
price
scale.
It
sits
inside
the
medina
(edited
to
correct
comment)
wall,
next
to
the
Palace
wall
where
you
can
see
the
storks
nesting
along
the
top.
You
should
appreciate
it
is
far
enough
away
from
the
main
square
to
avoid
the
noise.
The
staff
are
really
friendly
and
attentive
and
go
a
long
way
to
help.
A
potential
downside
is
the
cost
of
the
sundries,
which
can
be
signicant.
For
example
(Dec
2018)
2x
330ml
coke
Zeros
cost
66
MAD
(£5.28)
more
than
double
the
normal
price
of
elsewhere.
The
food
is
really
good,
but
again
quite
expensive,
as
is
the
locally
produced
house
wine
403
MAD
(£32.50)
To
put
this
into
perspective,
since
Morocco
is
a
Muslim
country,
alcohol
is
a
very
heavily
taxed
commodity
(100%
for
foreign
alcoholic
drinks,
slightly
less
for
domestic
products.)
Our
room
was
spacious,
well
decorated
and
quiet
(the
calm
is
a
rarity
in
Marrakech!)
On
a
couple
of
nights
it
was
filled
with
a
stifling
smokey
odour
which
made
it
difficult
to
sleep
well.
The
roof
terrace
is
a
beautiful
garden
in
which
to
enjoy
views
across
the
rooftops
and
have
a
bite
to
eat
and
relax.
The
Riad
has
in-house
hamman
and
massage
services.
The
hamman
(traditional
Moroccan
scrub)
is
not
for
the
faint
hearted
as
it
removes
a
few
layers
of
skin,
but
I'd
recommend
bearing
the
discomfort
as
the
end
result
is
worth
it.
The
massage
was
a
great
way
to
release
the
tensions
from
the
journey
and
the
first
few
days
of
exploring
the
city.
Overall,
we
had
a
really
enjoyable
stay
and
cannot
fault
the
excellent
service.
All
of
the
charges
are
clearly
stated
so
you
can
choose
whether
or
not
you
want
the
extras.
