** Good Ramen does not need to be expensive ** Unfortunately the price is not reasonable. Ordering yuzu sake flour 9 bucks??? I bottle sujo is 10-13 bucks and you will get more than 1 tall glass. Entry- Chicken karage 5 pc- big chicken and price is also big :) I can say not the best karage and not the worst. Ok for me. Bonito chatsu don- ramen is flavoursome but the price is questionable. 25 bucks really???? The modern ramen- i only taste the spicyness lol.... The worst is the service. Entree came quick but main came late. We need to wait 20 mins and we needed to ask the waitress to check our order. Very slow.

The food here was good as ippudo is one of my fave ramen places however they lost 2 stars because of the terrible service. We asked for table water 2 times however didn’t end up getting it because the waitresses seemed to continually forget. We ended up just leaving in the end. Also another waiter mentioned that they would bring us a box to store our belongings, again they seemed to forget.

Service is amazingly fast. The ramen came out after 2 min of ordering. Though the server did not fully understand my order and did not confirm before putting the order, the ramen tastes amazingly delicious! Tasty broth, egg is perfectly cooked and the noodles are fully soaked with the flavour. Would definitely come back again for more. The atmosphere is great for a date night or casual dining. It is located at a convenient location in the Westfield mall.

I'd read some good reviews of this iconic Japanese ramen house and decided to give it a go. However, I got fed up waiting in the queue, so I left and walked the 7 minutes to Menya on Market St - see my other review.

If you a big fan of japanese ramein noodle, look no further. Ippudo is in the top ten world wide, they have branches all over the world. I have tried countless of ramein noodle in Singapore and Sydney, but i still preferred ippudo hands down. All the other rameins are ok but no way near ippudo's level. The ramein at ippudo is not cheap, $25 aud per bowl, but what you pay is what you get, so it's worth it. The Goyzo dumplings and pork bun are also not bad, you can order them for entree. 😊 eating ramein 🍜

A little bit hectic environment, not great if you want a quiet meal but the food is delicious. They bring it out rapidly, in waves but the service is prompt and the servers are courteous. The ramen is delicious as were the entrees. Would definitely eat here again. Located near a bustling food court and expect a wait.

Very busy so be prepared to queue if going with 3 or more. The ramen was a bit on the strong side, the Classic ramen is lighter in flavour if you don't like it salty. I recommend the specials since you get a lot of toppings, it was pretty good! and there's a little sesame shaker, pepper, chilli oil and soy sauce so you can adjust your flavours to your liking. The noodles were perfectly cooked. Reasonably priced. I would go again if in the area!

Great ramen place in the city! The bonito tonkotsu was rich and had a nice umami flavour, and the shiromashu had a more subtle/lighter flavour but was still really tasty! The noodles were also very good, they had a nice chew without being too hard (we didn’t customise the hardness) The only downside was the pork loin chashu. Except for some more fatty ones that my partner had, they were dry and hard (I personally couldn’t eat them). As sides, we had takoyaki and gyozas which we both recommend; they were both great! Overall, if you don’t mind the meat not being the best, this is a place worth trying. I would recommend to come early though as the queue can get quite long.

I loved this restaurant! After visiting Ippudo in Japan, I had to try the Sydney Westfield one and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Shiromaru Tamago and it was delicious. The ramen noodles were cooked to perfection and the broth was incredible. The pork chasu was the kind that melts in your mouth, amazing. Despite visiting on a really busy night, the food came out really fast. I will definitely be visiting again

The staff were lovely and both food and drinks were delicious! Definitely don't skip the cocktails/Sangria. I was very happy with the scampi serving size. Perfect spot if you're in the city craving sushi. Bathrooms are nice and there are private traditional rooms. You have to descend some stairs before the entrance.

Overpriced, too oily, only 100 grams of ramen. Chicken was rough and bland. It cost 18 dollars, I can get more ramen out of a cup of instant ramen instead. Service was slow, chefs were chatting away and too crowded.

We came here for their two day special event by Saga Hide-Cha. Lots of people lined up to get in for dinner. The noodle soup was indeed very delicious. Not salty.$20 each. Loved the pickles they had. Decent portion size.

Went here for the ramen collab. Broth was not overly salty nor thin. Just a great broth all together. Good amount of chashu on mine. Karaage is a bit overcooked for me, but still soft and juicy. Gyoza was just ok and nothing to write home about. Sukiyaki spring roll was surprisingly good though pricey. Drinks are ok though a bit on the expensive side. Service was quick and efficient. Overall, ramen is great.

Delicious bonito ramen 🍜 here! The broth is not as thick as gumshara, but still creamy and yummy enough to give you the full pork+fish experience. Thin and hard noodle here goes well with the yummy broth, soft boiled egg is perfect as well. Overall, great ramen experience here, changed my mind about those chain ramen place becuz of Ippudo! Will definitely come back again 😋

I had the set lunch menu. For $30, you get a bowl of ramen, an entree (I picked the takoyaki - 4 pieces) and a soft serve, which is decent. The ramen was not super special but good enough, the takoyaki was delicious and the soft serve was a nice addition. An option for lunch in the city!

Delicious noodles as per other locations, but very crowded and cramped seating. Does not feel too safe at the big shared tables given the current coronavirus environment. Perhaps they should consider spacing people out a bit more? But otherwise good food, and friendly service, just make sure you ask for the individual tables when lining up.

We tried their Tori Shoyu and Bonito Tonkotso. Both of their broths alone deserve the 5 stars. You gotta admire the ambience and interior design as well. The curvy row of wood makes the place seem fluid. Service was good and fast which is a plus.

  • 5/5 Fancy B. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent ramen place for anytime with a sleek and modern interior. Excellent service and an always top notch experience that requires NO BOOKING. Just walk in and have an easy going experience! Food: 5 / 5 stars Service: 5 / 5 stars Vibe: 5 / 5 stars I love the Ramen here. I had the Classic Shiro Special, Bonito Special, Tori Shoyu Special, Curry and Pork Katsu, the octopus balls, Mixed matcha icecream. My favourite is the Bonito Special or the Classic. The broth is so damn good with the condiments as well. I remember I found the Tori Shoyu alright, maybe the broth was just not for me. Pork Katsu should be ordered when you are not feeling Ramen but it was still a nice dish to order. Those octopus balls is always and will be my favourite to get in Japanese restaurants. Mixed matcha icecream was also nice but only get it when you are craving it. I always love to bring newcomers to the city to this place but just something about the vibe, makes it so easygoing. It's pretty hard to find as well but if you find it, it's like a popular hidden gem. Excellent lighting and decorations makes you wonder during silence in conversations. Service is always incredible. We came 30 minutes before it was closed and we weren't rushed which is honestly astounding. Thank you to that lady! IPPUDO is always my go to place when I find myself in the cities in cold & rainy weather or for a quick lunch / dinner.

Superb Japanese food. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious. Fast service and comfy seating. The prices are reasonable and the wait in line isn't too long. I will come back to try other items on the menu.

Arriving on a Thursday late afternoon it was already fairly busy around 5. Situated inside the Westfield mall on the fifth floor this restaurant has seating inside as well as outside in the mall area. We ordered two pork buns, a bonito ramen and a grilled unagi don (rice bowl). The braised pork of the pork bun was nicely marinated and tasty but personally I thought there could be more topping accompanying the pork that would combine well with the flavors. The ramen was nice with chewy noodles and a broth that had a very strong bonito flavor. What didn't work out very well was the grilled unagi don. Although the rice was seasoned and flavorful it was either overcooked or cooked with too much water which made the rice soggy. The rice grain structure was nowhere to be found. The unagi tasted prepackaged and had a earthy flavor to it. The yellow radish and marinated greens that accompanied the rice was a nice touch but it didn't compensate the sogginess of the rice. When commenting on this to the staff they could only inform the kitchen about it and apologize because all they had was the soggy rice so they couldn't change anything about the dish. Overall, the restaurant has its strong and weak points. But I'm not convinced, it's quite pricey for the quality you get. Perhaps it's because of its location in a mall. Beware of the 10% added cost during the weekends! It's not as spectacular as the average Google score in my personal opinion. The friendliness of the staff is something that can definitely be improved as well.

The classic ippudo I would say is standard base line for a good ramen, but the price for a bowel is climbing wayyyy to high, almost $25-30 on the full price menu, understood this is the Pitt Street branch but the foundations of what ramen represents is a deep flavored ,affordable, carb heavy meal, this is starting to stray too far from that. Saying that myself and my companions got a light lunch special and a build your own ramen, flavors are all there and for me the noodles are nice and thin with a good amount of firmness, the broth is rich and slightly thick to coat the mouth feel and the toppings are good, it just unpleased to pay so much for something to nice and simple. Serive was solid , went during lunch peak so with the 4-5 servers they did very well to catter to everyone , esp with water service it must be hard. Food taste 8/10 Service 8/10 Proportions 6/10 $$ 5/10 just passable but this will drop if they charge more

Consistently good ramen. Broth is rich and tasty. Love that you can choose the done-ness of your noodles. $1 kaedama can’t be beat.

The most delicious ramen in australia hands down! The broth was amazing and the meat melted in my mouth! Friendly staff and the ramen surprisingly came out very quickly! I always visit this place when I visit the cbd ! Worth the trip ! 10/10 would recommend!!

Great ramen place in Sydney! Char sui pork was soft and tasty, the egg was nicely half-boiled and soup was super rich. The floor staff were friendly so I could enjoy Japanese dinner :) You can not split the bill. So you may need to prepare a bit if you go there with a group.

Haven’t been back for such a long time, I really enjoyed meals this afternoon. Crispy takoyaki as entree, it was amazing! Crispy on the outside, soft gooey and octopus tentacle were just so tender. “Fan favorite” is next in line. Every single condiments on this dish were delish, and broth was perfectly crafted, thick but not so thick, making the broth is really enjoyable! Ice Green tea was a perfect choice to clean my palate after all this yumminess from the broth

This place was ok but I was put off Ramen for a long while. I ordered the bonito ramen not knowing it was fish as it didn't say it in the Menu. Basically a tonne of noodles with just 2 slices of pork and half an egg on fish broth. Expensive bowl of noodles.

PRICING: Classic Ramen: around 18-19 AUS Pork Bun: 6 AUS Gyoza (Japanese Dumplings): 12 AUS for 10 pieces Japanese Green tea: iced 4 AUS/ hot 2 AUS The hot green tea bag is from Uji. Uji us a Japanese city south of Kyoto, known for its shrines and temples OVERVIEW: The classic ramen has a concentrated soup base and rich in taste. It’s the authentic ramen as it has black fungus, bean sprouts, spring onions, half pieces of soft boiled egg and two grilled pork pieces. You can choose soft/medium/hard/very hard noodle qualities. The pork bun has the soft bread and a grilled pork belly with mayonnaise. Overall comments: nice staff, reasonable price and authentic Japanese ramen shop. Thins to improve: the soup base is a bit salty although it’s rich overall. The pork bun is a bit cold.

It was very busy but it’s also close to Christmas so that can be expected. Despite how busy it was, service was impeccable and staff were very attentive. My food was fresh, tasty & came out quickly. If you’re doing some shopping in the city or at work, this is a great option for a yummy treat for lunch! I got the 3 x bao bun with the regular pork, pulled pork & chicken! They were all great but I have to say my favourite was the pulled pork and I might get 3 x just of them next time! Definitely recommend

  • 5/5 Minh L. 1 year ago on Google
Atmosphere was great and food was excellent. Ramen is a must have, broth is thick (you have various broth selections) and you can choose noodle firmness. The chasu has a good flavour and not super tender, but has a nice chewiness. This chasu doesn't have much fat which is fine to me personally.

  • 5/5 Rei H. 1 year ago on Google
Food was delicious. Both Ramen,Rice dish and sashimi were delicious. I think this restaurant has more food option compare to other ippudo (but I only visited 2 Ippudo in Sydney so far so I can't say this one has the most options). This place is quite busy and you have to queue for your turn. I wished they would serve us water before we asked. Beer was quick to serve 🍺 . This is my second visit Ippudo of this branch and their ramen are always good 🤤. They have some special seasonal dish if you want a change 🍜 If you are a fan of ramen, you definitely come here to try 😊

  • 4/5 Ashique M. 8 months ago on Google
Decent ramen for a chain, great ambience and service. You can select the bite for your noodles, went with the hard for a special bonito ramen pictured here. Noodle to broth ratio is quite high here, so it lacks slurpability. You can skip the special upgrade if you’re going for a large side as well even if you’re really hungry - the chashu pork isn’t the most tender or flavourful so would rather recommend another side. The chicken karage (large) was juicy and generous in portion. You’ve got a few booth seatings, and I really appreciated how they’ve got shelves underneath to store your belongings, it’s the little things that reminds you of Japan.

I ate here for dinner and the food was great. Solid, delicious ramen. The lost star is due to the price. The ramen + toppings came to $29, $2 for the noodles and then $12 for the beer. It’s fairly pricey, but delicious and filling. Service was amazing. My water glass was topped up the moment it emptied and the food came out rapidly. The price makes me a lot less likely to return.

We have the best food in IPPUDO Westfield. We customized our ramen with Modern base soup, added chachu pork and egg. We love the lemon lime soda so much. It is a must to try. The salmon sushi roll is the best. Salmon poke don is also very delicious. Waiters are super nice and fast!

Food is amazing and delicately delicious. However, inflexible for allergies. When asked if a component could be removed from the ramen, the wait staff stated it wasn’t possible as the dish would no longer be the restaurants signature dish and that another dish was recommended. When explaining that this was for an allergy accommodation there was still no budging.

Had their Ippudo Kuro ramen (with black garlic and Kara miso/ spicy miso), wagyu steak rice, and pork belly buns. They were all very tasty! The broth of Kuro ramen is different and has unique fragrant from the garlic and the spicy miso paste. Wagyu steak rice was generous in portion. The steak slices were juicy and tender. Service was quick and very friendly.

I thought about the ramen I ate as a Japanese traveler, but it wasn't. There is some weighting. It's a bit awkward because the egg is close to ripening. How good can a restaurant chain serving in a food court be? As it turned out awesomely great food. The broth and side dishes were delicious and I am coming back here every time I’m in Sydney. Meals were cheap especially for the quality and the speed of service was fantastic. Be warned that there is a queue to get in, yes it’s that good and I didn’t even mind sitting in a communal table as the food was so enjoyable everything else was a blur.

  • 4/5 Trang L. 3 years ago on Google
You should always expect to a queue line at this popular spot. This equals to delicious ramen at all times and never fails to amaze me. However today, the waitress was such in a rush and took a wrong order for my food. I didn’t call them to let them know and eat my food anyways (it was still yummy though) because nobody wants to waste such a beautifully made ramen noodles bowl. Hence for the 4 stars rating. Other than that, everything was great ??
