    Absolutely HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If u look remotely young you will not get acknowledged or served. I waited around for 20-25mins for assistance in purchasing something from the Georg Jenson section. No one approached me or even a hello, just got stared at from the workers like I didn't belong in the store. I believe this happens All THE TIME at this location because I LOOK young and they ASSUME I don't have money to spend. Flatted they think I'm that young but I'm not. Civic David Jones is just very rude and unwelcoming.

    Very poor service. We needed some help with Mens’ shoes. The staff that was there walked off as soon as we entered and never came back. The other 2 staffs were busy doing something else. Even after we asked them to come and help us they continued to ignore and pretended to be busy doing something that clearly was only one person’s job. Some were just busy talking to each other and ignored every customer. We actually ended up buying the same pair of shoes at another store and spend 300$. The money we could have easily spent at DJ if someone had showed up to help us. Very disappointed at the service we received at David Jones Canberra.

    Have been here three times on past week. Not one staff member asked what I was after. One looked at me and walked away. I watched them and they went to serve nobody. Each time I go here I have to find what I want myself. I only go because I have to. Many of my friends see the same thing. Interesting to note that management do not see the money they are losing. Maybe they are too busy looking at profit lines and thinking they are good enough. I know this is a rough review but I base this on many recent visits.

    On returning a Veronika Maine garment to David Jones Canberra store because it was a little tight under the arms- I was served by an extremely rude shop assistant in a thick black mask covered in diamontes. "The garment smells" she said through the mask. How she could determine this when the thick black mask covered her nose- is anyone's guess. " I beg your pardon" I said totally affronted by her rudeness! "You've worn it!" said the shop assistant. " I assure you- I have not, I'm just returning it because it doesn't fit properly". Which was the truth. "Smell this" said Miss Rudeness to another assistant- who couldn't smell anything. Miss Extremely Rude Diamonte Mask continued in this vein for another few minutes before eventually conceding that there was nothing wrong with the garment and refunding my money! No apology! I have been shopping at many David Jones stores over the years - but I have NEVER been treated so rudely by any sales assistant EVER! I will not be returning to David Jones!

    Went into the store to purchase a cologne a few years ago & was overwhelmed by the range . Today i went back in intending to buy several. What a disappointment. The range was so limited they could have had it all in a kiosk & still had room left over. A-lot of Their display sample bottles were empty & others were doubled up to make the display look good. I don’t know what the store is doing but they myst be loosing out on a hell of a lot of sales. The staff were very friendly though. Extremely disappointed David Jones.

    The worst customer service I ever met. They said that it is free of cost to try the clothes. And also they were talking to each other mentioning us in Indian language.

    You can’t tell customers that why are you just trying and not buying, its none of your business. Guy at Politix, maybe you need more training on how to talk and approach customers. Management, train your staffs well.

    We were looking for some winter coats and were served by Agnes in the Sportscraft section and she was absolutely amazing. We ended up getting two coats as we couldn't decide and she and her manager were able to give us a great deal. Her customer service was above and beyond and she was incredibly accommodating and assisted us with all our inquiries particularly to do with sizing, various colours of the coat and giving her opinion on which ones she felt looked better. Thank you Agnes for all your help! Very happy and satisfied customer!

    So my visits to David Jones are not regular. Came here to get a present. The area was unattended but then someone came up and offered to help. I told my budget and got told away we don't have anything in that range. Scanned a perfume and viola it was within budget lol. Be mindful they don't out prices. Went across to Myer spent above my budget. For a niche product player definitely have dropped the ball in customer service.

    Fantastic service in menswear, we fortunately had the store's stylist, Cathy helping my son and I. What a brilliant free service. What a delight Cathy is. We will be back, great specials as well.

    Very disappointed with city store,staff on beauty floor looks very lazy and unhelpful. Staffs are standing together and chatting. They are lack of experience and don‘t know everything just said we don’t have it. They asked me to buy products in Myer because they don‘t know where is the product and is hidden by the other staff. This is david jones who said customer service is the priority. sales person is really rude and looks like unhappy when they are serving you and feel really bad shopping experience!!!!! We want to buy Guerlain and a staff said that the specialist in Guerlain is on her break we are unable to find the key,the products are hidden by her and suggest us to buy it in Myer. We wait for 30 min and she didn‘t come back. I requested to see manager and staff siad we don‘t have manager. OMG so interesting. Good on you guys.

    What on Earth is going on with this David Jones??? Shabby, amateur hour version of David Jones with the Christmas section shoved next the the underwear as an afterthought. Grubby floors /shelves, no spray cards at all in the perfume section. Whole place stuck in mid 90s and never changed. SAD.

    Wanting to browse in peace looking for a special gift and having a male shop assistant follow me all over the store , making me feel intimidated. I told him I wanted to browse and would ask for assistance when I was I ready . However he just kept following me and again I asked to be left alone but he just would not. I ended up leaving the store abd he followed me to the door. I doubt I will go back there .

    Today my husband and I were assisted by Lara in Guerlain perfume section. She is so knowledgeable about perfumes and understood perfectly what my husband was looking for. We purchased a perfume she suggested without even smelling it and when he tried it on he absolutely loved it! Surely we will come back to see Lara.

    My 10 year old granddaughter had a day off, and the one thing she wanted was to go to David Jones. The staff in the perfume department were fantastic with her and gave her little bottles of perfume samples,Channel Number 5 is the winner. They made her feel special, and Lily had a magical experience at David Jones. Isn't it fantastic that the service provided by the staff gave Lily such joy and happiness it was much needed as she had experienced bullying at school, and this was respite to help build her self esteem and make her feel good about her self. Thank you to the staff at David Jones

    I recently visited the David Jones store at Canberra Centre for a Dior fragrance session and had an unfortunate encounter with a staff member. This lady, in her late 40s, around 5 ft tall, and speaking with an accent, repeatedly disturbed me while I was testing fragrances. While I appreciate assistance, she went beyond providing information and started asking personal questions unrelated to the products. On my second visit to test Dior Homme Sport, she rudely questioned why I was returning, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. I believe customers should feel free to explore and test products without unnecessary interruptions. I hope the management addresses this issue to enhance the overall shopping experience.

    This is the worst DJs in Canberra, perhaps anywhere. I’ve been in twice in two months, one to purchase an affordable suit and was publicity embarrassed for not wanting to spend $1000+ on a suit, and to buy a pod style coffee machine which the staff member assured me to would work with the pods I wanted to use it with (whole reason I wanted to buy it) only to unbox it for it to be completely the wrong machine. Had to get a full refund and the staff member apologised and admitted she didn’t know which pods it accepted. Don’t waste your time or money here.

    Found male retail staff to be disengaged "go over there for service He's not busy'" (this chap was 'busy' selling a $128 packs of dinner plates to a prevaricating lady) (double parentheisis). The referred counter service fellow was vaguely polite (some low level improvement).. no one wanted to spend the time to handle my enquiry for LeCreuset 27cm pot, and other goods for which one goes to a DJ city centre store. I walked out with two DJ brand coffee cups (nice plain fine bone china, burnished platinum on the rim, perfect everyday ware). My desire for LeCreuset cookware additional cookware unsatisfied.. maybe a few thousand dollars walked out the door of DJ Canberra Centre this afternoon. Foolish to have this impression conveyed by these retail staff. My money will be spent elswhere now. Btw, the first retail staffer I encountered upstairs was lovely. Im a 55 year old man. Perhaps 'the boys' downstairs in the kitchenwares areas were dismissive because of this? Yeah, so.. about that...

    Very good Customer Service provided by Viswan Than Thanakumar. Return process was smooth and new Items ordered in-store arrived on time. Great for DJ to have talented people like him.
