    Good god. How are they still open? I went for a five-day free trial. After waiting an eternity at the front counter, the guy let me in with no welcome. I don't even think he realises that I get 5 days of free access. No matter - i wouldn't go back anyway. The lockers are gross. The staff are rude. The clientele are also gross. *vomits*

Areas of the gym now smell of mould. - Apparently the rain “messes with the 24/7 access” so you turn up out of hours to find that you can’t get in. Zero communication from the club which is incredibly frustrating. This has happened on numerous occasions and when asked there is no timeframe given about when this will be fixed. - Equipment is never put back in it’s place. You spend half the time walking around to find what you need. - This gym is filthy. I wonder how often the cleaners come. I only use the bathrooms if I’m desperate. - When issues are communicated with staff, I always get the excuse that it has been raised with management. When I call the gym to speak with the manager, I am either on hold for 30+ minutes, only to be hung up on, OR I am told that the manager is “with a client and will call me back”… There are so many other gyms in this area who are offering 24/7 access with clean and well maintained equipment. I don’t understand how they manage to get away with so much… Absurd. I have tried calling the 1300 number and sent emails with no response. I’ll be interested to see if the gym responds to this post.

    Recently call the fitness first regarding to the membership discount. The person who was dealing with my girl was so rude and talk over the phone with someone else laughing saying “my gosh” keep re questioning “are you sure pharmacists are on health care professional category?” It was very rude and rude forgot to ask the name who was. But should know the person and see this. Please learn some manner and customer service. Very disappointed and shame of the team member of north strathfield fitness first.

    Updating this review to a 1 star. We endured weeks of little or no air con as they were waiting for parts from overseas to fix it. Despite this, it is still widely inadequate and the cardio section is unbearably hot. It also seems the air con kicks in quite late as it’s often warm at 8am but slightly cooler by 9am. Previous review: For the price you’re paying, especially to some other nearby gyms it’s pretty good. It’s obvious that it’s lost a little shine from its prime but once you look past that, it’s a very well equipped gym with a heap of variety in terms of machines and floor spaces to cater for all sorts of workouts.

    Staff are unprofessional and not customer orientated at all. Unless they know you well, they’ll look at you as if they’re too good for everyone. Perhaps smiling every now and then, and welcoming your clients/customers nicely it would give out a better rep of who you are and the business. Ps. Machines are useless too, the one cable machine down the bottom is broken and has been since we started. The second one is up top and just an inconvenient spot to be. Nonetheless, probs the most decent gym in Strathfield but honestly can’t wait to move from the area. Chur

    Group fitness good but very small space in room. Customer service at front desk TERRIBLE. They’re rude and are never pleasant. The gym area looks ok. I tried the class out on the gym floor and they had to find someone to run the class because the trainer had not turned up. What a joke for the money they expect you to pay. Go elsewhere!

    TLDR; Worst gym experience ever. Like some of the other reviewers, my partner and I had an incredibly unpleasant experience with the manager. We have the normal access cards so we can access the gym during staffed hours (until 4pm on Saturdays). 1. We were refused entry at 3:30pm because the manager told us that there were no staff, even though there were clearly staff behind the counter. 2. We offered to pay to upgrade our cards for 24/7 access but were told they couldn't. 3. Another staff member let us through, but was forced to chase us down to tell us that the manager was kicking us out because he was in a bad mood that day. The gym itself is dirty, messy and the machines are in poor condition. Please don't make our mistake - go to another gym. We have been to so many other gyms across Sydney and have never had to deal with such rude, unprofessional behaviour.

    DO NOT SIGN UP i repeat DO NOT SIGN UP for this fitness first. I had 18 months contract since 2020 and when I'm out of my contract they raise the fortnightly payment and said my membership can be cancel anytime. When I need some assistance with my account they are not welling to help and when I said I wish to cancel my membership they immediately change their tone and I need to pay 4 times my normal payment to cancel the membership and also when I ask for specific amount they aren't given to me and threaten there will be debt collectors chasing me up for unpaid payment. When i ask for specific contract term that i am not in any form of contract because my contract ended already. I have asked the name the person who spoke to me over the phone he doesnt want to gave his name said no as i ask for more information he just hang up the phone. This is my mistake to join this gym.

    I usually am not one to write reviews. But today I walked into the gym and the only person at who I believe who is in a customer service role was rude and unprofessional. She didn’t acknowledge me. I grabbed a drink and asked if the club accepts cash, she didn’t even talk to me, she just she nodded. Then I asked about the staffed hours and again instead of talking to me she pointed to a sign that wasn’t even there. When I asked her was time gym opens she said 5am and then when I asked where the sign in she showed me and I couldn’t see it because I wasn’t wearing my glasses and said how can you not see it’s a big sign? Anyway, the sign read, 545 open, then she said they open 445. I think she was annoyed when I explained that sign needs to be updated otherwise people will be confused. She couldn’t even be bothered with me by this point.

    If I could give 0 stars I would! This place is absolutely revolting. I came here for a trial while my current gym was affected by the floods and I was met with such extreme unfriendliness at the front desk I should’ve taken that as a red flag. Wasn’t shown around or how to use lockers or facilities and when I did approach I was treated like a burden which is shocking considering the membership price. Most if not all machines were disgustingly filthy, filled with rubbish from coffee cups to tissue or just covered in extreme grime and dust. I honestly couldn’t believe people actually pay for this gym. Avoid at all costs there are much better options

    Recently cancelled membership due to baby still with 1/2 my current contract, get a phone call from new owners saying I hadn't paid the chunky fee though I did! Facility good but previous owners excellent for putting my account on hold without charge due to pregnancy

    Horrible treatment by Bernice who sold us a membership via phone. We wanted to clarify a few things about the offer, so we went to see her at the gym. Me and my husband both spoke in a very calm manner, and asked a few questions regarding some charges we did not recognise. From the moment she came to talk us she appeared tense and not friendly at all. Her expressions were cold, her greeting was cold and zero connection with us as customers. As we raised our concerns she quickly became very heated and started speaking in a very impolite and condescending tone, trying to justify her part. We were not asking for refunds or blaming anyone, however Bernice’s tone and gestures did not reflect even the basic customer service qualities you would expect from someone representing one of the most popular gyms in Australia. I had to point out to her that the way she was addressing us showed terrible attitude and purely negative impression. To my utter relief, Tom, who has been very patient and fantastic with us from day one took over the situation and resolved the whole issue simply with a polite tone and a very understanding attitude. Thank you Tom, your excellent customer service skills shined bright today!

    Relatively nice gym and solid facilities, but 1. Can get really crowded, 2. Only the minority clean up after themselves and show common courtesy / awareness, and 3. The aircon seems to be hit and miss. It can get pretty hot in there in summer.

    Where to begin? 1. Lockers - Some are broken which is ok BUT there seems like there is no urgency to fix - they run out of soap in the showers in multiple cubicles simultaneously 2. Customer service - that front desk is always unmanned, make you wait 10-15minutes - when i went out to complain about the soap issue, took them 15mins before someone came out. Staff comes out looking bewildered thinking “why is a person waiting for me at the desk” 3. The google listing does not specifying staffed hours. Just says 24/7 which is not applicable to all. These are all negative things you can experience at the gym. But all from 1 gym and from 1 customer?

    Worst gym experience. Unprofessional and rude staff from trainers to receptionists. Old and broken equipment. Dirty all round and never seen the club being cleaned or maintained. Someone below mentioned cockroaches, I too reported this multiple times. Don’t even bother sending emails or calling, you either won’t be responded to or your call won’t be answered. Not even your cheapest gyms deliver such a poor experience. Save your money and go to one of the many surrounding and more affordable gyms.

    I don't have an option to give "0". Else, I would have given 0. Customer Service and Especially Manager "Rushit" at North Strathfield is very very bad. They don't treat the customers properly. They are good until you join them, post that, they don't care. And, when you want to cancel the account, they will treat you rudely. I personally experienced this.

    The gym has what you need overall but machines need to be better maintained or upgraded. The ceiling in the room for most group exercises is leaking and has a lot of what appears to be wet, mouldy patches. There have been times where water droplets are found on the ground too which is a real safety hazard. The ceiling has been like this for well close to half a year from what I've seen, if not longer and I would have thought something would have been done by now. Do our membership fees actually go towards maintaining the quality of our gyms?

    Poor customer service. I understand we are all going in to work out and should expect nothing more. But a basic nice human interaction would have been nice. Our PT Chris was friendly but most front desk staff aren't too friendly at all.

    Absurd! Joined Sunday 23rd April 23 and decided to cancel on 24th of April 23, contract clause 18 stated cooling of period of 7 business days. You have to call to cancel, but not rightaway "will let the manager know". Manager called, asked for reasons, told him car parking is very hard then got told "this is not the real reason because many ppl don't find it an issue and you can park easily across the road" and said "can't cancel for this" I then said "so you mean I can't cancel within the stated 7 business days cooling period? And you disrespecting my decision to cancel?" The manager rightaway changed his tone and yelled at me saying I'm very rude to him. Read the review, mostly stated car parking issue here. This is the 3rd same experience encountered from fitness first australia, the manager will give all sorts of reasons that you can't cancel it and only once before you sign up.

    I guess this is one of the poorly maintained fitness first centers in Sydney. Yesterday I booked a HIIT class and the instructor didn’t turn up. Not many benches to the bench press. I don’t enjoy going here.

    There is a personal trainer here, very unfriendly and rude , I feel sorry for him . When I was using the bench, he also wanted to take his students to use it. The moment I looked back, the towel I put on the chair was on the floor. As a member for six years, I feel lost. @ fitness first team

    Poor notification around staffed hours. Website is lacking the list and google only indicates 24hour access. Unhelpful in highlighting that a seperate card is required for 24 hour access and staff present in the gym unwilling to take the extra step to provide the 24hr card.

    Be very careful when signing up with this gym, they’ll say whatever they have to say to sign you up including false information, then when you need assistance they keep saying they’ll get the manger to get back to you. Also very very crowded gym. Wouldn’t recommend

    One of my friend was moving interstate so they asked me to take over their platinum membership as we both are from same corporate client of FF. The first day, the receptionist was extremely insolent. No offers to provide a gym tour, basic housekeeping, location of washroom, lockers and fire exit etc (which is a minimum standard anywhere). I tried to ask some questions, but she was least interested in answering those and persisted on getting me a swipe card for $25.00. I politely asked her to address my basic queries instead of her sales pitch, this made her more aggressive and she almost yelled at me by saying 'don't tell me to listen to you, you should listen to me and don't point your hand towards me'. Well, there is a difference between pointing a finger and moving hands while speaking - probably, this young lady is not aware of this difference. In order to not to escalate things further, I opted to withdraw and made one final attempt to get her to answer my queries. She started pointing her finger tip towards a print out and said 'I told you to look at this sheet but you are not listening to me'. A gentleman from the office came out to rescue me and was happy to provide me the information I needed. However, no tour of the gym was offered and I have to figure out things on my own or getting guidance from fellow members. Not impressed at all.

    Do not sign up. You sign up to a month to month contract which you still pay a month in advance because when you cancel they try to milk you as much as possible The gym itself is also bare bones. There’s not enough equipment for what you pay I sincerely hope they underhand the long term impacts of not having good customer service, that the club closes due to lack of business and you all lose your jobs from it.

    Misleading information about the contracts and zero transparency. They are perfect until you sign up for it. We had been told cancellation was so easy and deliberately no mentioning of cancellation fee. Even though we made it crystal clear that we do not want any attachments, now 3 months in we get told that there is a cancellation fee of $245. Unbelievable, just unbelievable.

    Unfortunately this gym just feels too small/ cramped, and it gets too hot. The air con just can't cope - summer and winter. Perhaps its the high ceilings and the glass wall? But t's also too hot in the spin room and the room for classes. Unfort this is the only FF in the area so it will always be this way. Also, there aren't enough classes... they seem to have far fewer classes then other FF gyms.

    We had a horrible interaction with personal trainer based in North Strathfield club - Matthew Thayaparan. Last Friday afternoon around 2pm, I was training with my friend who joined FF for only two days. We were each using a gym bench near the kettlebell rack, doing deadlift. As we were both still practicing the form, we use the benches and correct our forms against the wall that is right next to our benches. 5 mins into doing so, a personal trainer with his client came to us and asked “are you using the benches”, I responded yes, then he asked “both?” I responded yes as we got two people. He walked away and came back in not even 5 mins, started accusing us for not using the benches, I explained again and went “we are now”. He started ranting and raging at as by saying we are wasting his time and more but I couldn’t really hear clearly, so I walked towards him and turned my head to the right, saw there was an unoccupied bench so I asked him if this bench solves his problem. He then said “it doesn’t matter.” Throughout the conversation, or I should say quarrel, there was no politeness, decency, customer service, professionalism displayed at all. We were treated unfairly for using the benches for 10 mins. I was focusing on solving the problem for him by offering the empty bench, however, this person just wanted to keep talking rudely to us to let something out of his system. We have seen his interactions with others who are Caucasian males, we saw different attitudes. Very sad to see nowadays, sexism and racism are still prevalent among us when it comes to working out in a gym. Is it because we are Asians? Or is it because we are girls that are supposed to prioritise to make rooms for the PTs when they are working? I have been with FF for more than 10 years (on and off, I cancelled the my membership previously and recently joined back because of a really nice staff at Pitt st club). My friend has been with FF for not even a week. The incident had us doubting if we should be continuing the membership as we do not feel as comfortable anymore when going to North Strathfield club but sadly that’s the only club that’s within a reasonable distance from us.

    I’ve never been comfortable going to a gym until I came here. The staff are lovely and helpful. The ladies in the Creche make my little boy feel safe while I exercise and everything is always super clean. I love coming here!

    Worst gym, worst customer service. They charge the highest price, but they give you the worst service. Got some trail card when I joined the membership, the girl said I can ask my family and friends to try. When I give one to my brother, he was told not allow to use it.

    Great gym for a very affordable price. My PT Brian was very observant and gave me valuable feedback and pointers. You could tell he actually cares about his clients! Idk why people are complaining about the air con, I've been here on a 35 degree day and it was nice and cool. Not like a literal fridge of other gyms.

    If I could give 0 stars I wold. Equipment is often out of order, and the rest is in poor conditions. I only joined for the classes and I’m always waitlisted. Additionally, customer service is poor. I agree with the comment below: Avoid at all costs there are much better options.

    Decent FF Club that operates 24 hours a day. There is always one or two machines that are out of order, but the changing rooms are fairly clean each time I have been there.

    Not a safe space, I filed a complaint about the behaviour and nothing came of it. Gym bros with unkind and unsafe attitudes. It used to be a great gym but now it's a mess, train somewhere else.

    Pretty popular in the morning around 7am. Equipment diversity and availability were pretty abundant. Natural lighting is amazing, the sun light was beeming in. Only thing was the sauna was no where near hot enough like other clubs.

    Although the Gym premises are good, its a so expensive especially if you are not opting annual subscription. They charge around 30$ every week. They said I would get 2 weeks trail period but after opting it, they charged me from day 1. Its not clear, too many terms and conditions.

    Not sure what all the negative reviews are about - I think it's probably buyer remorse after being locked into a contract. My experience of the staff is welcoming, and equipment is plentiful even during peak times.

    Pretty decent gym, not huge. No mirrors in front of the squat cages which is a bit disappointing. Glass from floor to ceiling which let’s in heaps of natural light. 24 hours with ok parking (1.5 hour limit) and what looks to be a steam and sauna facility that operates outside of staffed hours which is a huge bonus.

    Some equipment could be upgraded, or T least have the instructional stickers replaced. Everything works and its a good space with upstairs cardio. I don't like the room for classes as there is a hugepole in the middle and the room is too wide. Unless you get a spot front middle itshard to see what's happening

    So I signed up for membership here and wanted to cancel in a few days as the gym was unsuitable for me. The girl on the phone said that I had to call back in 28 days I said no I have a cooling off period of 7 days as per contract. She refused to cancel it so I had to be the person to ask the manager to cancel it ! He did it instantly. I can't believe the method and lengths this employee when just to meet quoters for the month! She could have got the company sued ! As it was per my right to withdraw from the contract in 7 days. Unbelievable!!

    The worst fitness first IV been too. No one to greet you at the door.. No weight to share among the gym. Small , lots of leaks in the roof from the rain, floor slipary and dangerous when weight training. Over all experience 0.1 out of 10.
