I’d previously left a glowing 5 star rating for this place but was just told I couldn’t have my coffee in a cup, it had to be in a takeaway cup as they were closing soon. It was 2:37pm. It would’ve taken me 10 minutes to sit and drink it leaving them 13 minutes to wash the cup before their 3pm close. I’m a local and fairly regular customer but I won’t be back here. Lazy staff wanting to knock off early at the expense of customer enjoyment is a huge turn off for me.

This is an interesting fusion Indonesian restaurant. I had pull pork burger, and I can taste the tasty spice and herb used for the salad in the burger which is very tasty! The pull pork is very soft and tasty too! The only downside is I came on Boxing Day and it has 15% surcharge so it’s slightly pricey.

Rude and unprofessional. Her nasty attitude. I came to buy coffee and food , i paid for it. I did not ask for free stuffs. This place should be grateful they still get people spending money there. In return, i got the worst experience i've ever encountered. Coffee and food was alright, but whatever. 0/0

Super overpriced and quite disappointing. Had a orange juice that was half filled with ice (so felt like I had a few gulps and it was done) and a breakfast bun which was so expensive and not flavourful. There was no sauce of any kind on the burger and hardly had any salt or pepper. BBQ sauce would have been nice.

Coffee aficionados take heed: This place makes the BEST coffee in Sydney! I cycle from Redfern to St Peters each morning just to grab one of their Flat Whites to kick-start me into my day. Their fantastic coffee blends are absolutely delicious. The staff are very warm and friendly also. I hear their snacks are pretty good too. Highly recommended.

Neighbourhood gem! Thought the Ayam Bakar was amazing. Packed full of flavour and a generous serving.

One of the best tasting coffees in the area! It's in a great spot right on the park, perfect for getting outside and taking a break. Coffee and food are all great prices too. I've not yet tried their food though, so can't comment on that. I also always enjoy seeing the art on the wall whenever I come by 👌

Every batch brew I have at other cafes makes me appreciate Aslan's more, to the extent that I am now writing a review for my visit 2 months ago. I don't know if it's the brewer, the coffee-to-water ratio, the grind size, or whatever else, but Aslan's batch brew was flavoursome with body and nice acidity. The 5+ brews I've since had in other seemingly good cafes have been thin and intensely acidic...stingy with their beans, perhaps? Anyway, back to Aslan: the space is small and cosy, with outside seating for beautiful sunny days. Friendly staff who know their coffee, and makes you comfortable and welcome too. Sadly, I don't live nearby, but I look forward to visiting their outlet in The Rocks and hope to have a similarly good experience

Delicious brekkie and good portion sizes. The bacon breakfast bun was crispy, delicious and filling! Will come back soon to try other things from their menu

Love this place, it’s one of my faves in St Peters, lovely staff and yummy food. I tried their pulled pork burger here on the weekend and it was delicious, so juicy and fresh. Good portion size too!

Cute little cafe, great food, service & coffee, point of difference with indo savoury options for breakfast, had the beef rendang and it was slow cooked and spices were soft, sweet and well incorporated like a massaman, will absolutely visit again. Service with smile in Newtown is rare!

LOVE Aslan coffee! Holly and Amy provide the best service and coffee, even after going down to Melb for a few weeks, nothing hits quite like a coffee from here.

Our go to place for great food and coffee around the area. Have to try their beef rendang dish, so delicious. Been to this place often and they never disappoint.

Very solid coffee and a really nice selection of foods. A lifesaver during this lockdown for a quick foray out of the house.

Looking at the previous reviews it was worth a stop in to experience this place. Firstly the food was great the avocado and feta toasted sandwich was amazing. BUT the coffee was disappointing, luke warm and lacked flavour and felt like there was hardly and coffee in the cup at all. Won't be rushing back for a coffee anytime soon.

This is such a lovely cafe in a quiet side of St Peters - the service was super friendly, ambience is lovely. Tried their nasi rendang (braised beef with tumeric rice) - the beef was very tender and delicious dish! Will definitely come back for more :)

A wonderful little shop with fantastic staff and magnificent coffee, nevermind the wonderful atmosphere. Delicious, velvety smooth coffees with a beautiful flavour profile. Had bacon egg roll and the bacon was cooked perfectly and i could tell all the ingredients they used were fresh. Hidden gem in st peter laneway. Great hideout in a part of the city that doesn't have enough of them.

We’ve come here a few times and it is a lovely cafe with quality coffee and great food. They do the simple things very well. Great to get takeaway and eat in the park.

It seems like they serve their customers just because they are forced to. Very low customer service skills especially the girl.

My son and I just stopped off for a takeaway coffee and hot chocolate. Very friendly service. We really enjoyed our drinks, the coffee was beautiful. It's a shame we live so far away, otherwise we'd be back again soon!

Holly and Amy are the best baristas. I come here everyday. They always greet me with a smile even when I come in and annoy them when I’m hungover. They also make great coffee and the food is excellent too. Would recommend stopping if you’re going past. The staff are worth it and the food is as well!! I will continue to come here for both food and conversation.

Best coffee I’ve had in the inner west, reminds me a lot of Gumption’s quality. The bean is ok but the milk is where these coffees shine (especially the soy). Not much seating but that’s fine, walk east and sit in Sydney park. Prices are fine, especially considering the lack of competition nearby

Cute little local, friendly service and interesting asian fusion options. Reasonably priced. The rendang was nicely presented, the beef a tad too fatty for my liking; but will return to try the pastries & coffee.

If you like excellent coffee in a friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. The care that goes into sourcing quality beans, roasting them to perfection and creating a consistently high quality end product is clear in every cup of Aslan Coffee. They really care about their product and their customers, and it shows. The days that I am unable to get my coffee at Aslan are few, as nowhere else makes coffee as good. The icing on the cake is the wonderful team of baristas, and all the staff at Aslan who are always friendly and efficient - the highlight of my day!

👍 Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
