Very cool wine bar in the middle of Marrickville strip of shops. The staff are very friendly and know their wines. Good selection of boutique wine on menu especially European or South America. Don’t expect big dinner meals more tapas style dishes like charcuterie boards, cheese boards, sashimi and tid bits very yummy though.

This place is just up from a favourite Vietnamese place of ours and we wandered in haphazardly one night only to be blown away. The vibe is a little sophisticated without being stuffy and the staff are all amazing. Their wine list is unsurprisingly large but they where awesome at recommending different stuff and we got to try some amazing drops. Also shout out to their chef because the dessert we had was outrageous

Wow what a place! We went there for a wine at lunch time and some nibbles. We were greeted by a lovely server who went through the wines based on our tastes. They were very helpful with what food to order too. The wine was absolutely delicious and the food was incredible! Everything was packed with lots of flavour! Lovely place and we will be back!

Great service and incredible wine offering. Very nice place to relax on a Sunday afternoon in the sun. Awesome wine knowledge from all the staff. Its clear that they all share a true passion for the industry and food and wine matching. Really enjoyed my visit. Will definitely be back for more.

Came for the wine and stayed for the nice ambiance and unexpectedly good food. Waiters seem to know their wine well and offered good recommendations, the speakeasy vibe is very pleasant and the food was really great in particular the tuna crudo which was close to phenomenal. I'm surprised to see mixed reviews, I'll go again and update if needed.

After reading some of the very few poor reviews here I had to do a double take to see if people were talking about the same place myself and friends went on Saturday afternoon. Nicks Wine Bar is awesome. Fantastic wine and cocktails and the Sommelier, Bridget, was top class, very knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. High recommend the staff, drinks and atmosphere. So glad its one of my locals.... Wayne

This place is actually great. I have been maybe 4 or 5 times and my partner and I have enjoyed it every time. If it wasn't for Where's Nick I honestly wouldn't have the appreciation for wine I have today. The service is great. The food is honestly really good. They have a cosy atmosphere. I think they should do some sort of wine club. Like a social event for locals.

Pretty much frustrated that I can’t rate this place higher. I mean, 5 stars is literally not enough! The anchovy toast is exquisite! The head chef is a sweetheart and Steve and the wait staffare professional but cool and approachable. I love coming back to this wine bar! Thank you

Had been looking forward to trying this place but very disappointing. Wine list is good but knowledge of the staff not great. We asked for a Chardonnay variety and it was not - the chip in the glass did not help and when mentioned we were asked if the waitress should throw the remainder of the wine away or pour it into a new glass - not a great customer experience. Red wine was very average and over priced. Scallops were cold and the bread with our Fava was cremated. The Prawns saved the day ! We won’t be returning soon.

Great wine bar with some surprisingly cool food options available (Tuna Crudo is to die for!) Really love all the recommendations I've ever gotten there and the bottle store next door means I can grab a bottle of what I enjoyed on the way out. The food and wine options change regularly and are always on point. My favourite spot to take friends to, they all leave blown away by the knowledge of the staff and how friendly they are!

Such a great atmosphere with the nicest staff! The food is absolutely amazing and with the beautiful presentation they do I highly recommend this place to impress someone without them knowing you want to impress them. I also tend to have some intolerances with gluten, preservatives, and wine but here I had plenty of wine and tried all types of food and felt fine. I look forward to coming back!

Epic selection of gin and beer! A great little spot to enjoy some delicious cocktails or sip on some of the best beers in the world. Nice bar displays everything well and staff seem to know enough to make good suggestions for both the gin and the beer. Nice bar, would definitely return for more.

Gorged ourselves on Estonian raspberry beer, deliciously rich cashew cheese, and three mushroom pizza amongst other treats. Add friendly but not fussing staff and a chilled atmosphere, and it was easy and extremely tasty Thurs night. Thanks!

We’ve been big fans previously but the last visit was very disappointing. We were hurried through, no interest in engaging on our tastes, and when we paid the bill, - a pre-inserted “20%” tip was not appreciated. We won’t be going back again, so sad to see such a great bar suffer to such poor, disinterested wait staff.

Came across this place recently & beginning to frequent there. Fantastic service & atmosphere. Very personable owners that are always There to met & greet & enjoy having laugh with you. Food is just perfect & a must cocktail to have is the “black seas of infinity”. Amazing selection of wines & spirits. A must go to......

Not worth it. Paid $30 for “pumpkin cannelloni” the pasta wasn’t properly cooked (we couldn’t even cut through it with a knife) and the filling tasted like scrambled egg, no taste of pumpkin and no flavour at all. Also ordered “hash browns with Parmesan cream” which was just sliced potato with sour cream on top.. When it came to the bill it was very rude to automatically apply a tip and stand over you as you pay making you feel uncomfortable to remove it. The service does not deserve a tip, staff are very slow. Wouldn’t mind paying the money if it was a good experience but it just isn’t.

What a find! Not only are the wines amazing and the staff fantastic, the food is delicious too! It's hard to believe that such delicacies can come out of such a small area.... beautiful 😊 There are so many wines to choose from so don't be afraid to ask the very knowledgeable staff for recommendations. There's a massive blackboard for wines by the glass and the wine list itself...well let's just say our staff member called it a "tome". There is something for everyone right up to the higher end value of wines. They accept walk-ins but it's best to book to make sure you get to experience everything Where's Nick has to offer...I've been twice and they were very busy both nights. Just go....you won't be disappointed 🍷

Good was great, but the ambiance was amazing! What a lovely place this is. A little bit different which is just what I like. Loved the wine, the service and the atmosphere. Highly recommend it. Either for an intimate night out to reconnect or bring a small group of friends to. 👍

Wine - 5 Food - 1 Service - 0 The guy from bottle shop - subzero The place was almost empty. Still, we had to ask for everything: menu, cutlery, water x 3. They needed 15 minutes to cook harsh browns, they were cold. The seller from the bottle shop would be good at 7eleven but only during night shifts. He shouldn’t work with people. Overall, nice wine but there are wines elsewhere.

Great atmosphere and selection of cocktails. Would recommend to try a fish pie (rich and flavourful). Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Absolutely enjoyed our time at this neighbourhood wine bar. Didn’t come in with any particular expectation for food but we were very pleasantly surprised! Ordered the tuna crudo, focaccia, cheese board and whey poached barramundi and nothing could be faulted. Bit of a wait for the barramundi but when we came to know that it was being prepared in quite a small kitchen space by the lovely female chef of just 3 weeks - we were very impressed! Lovely atmosphere and a variety of places to sit and enjoy a nice summer evening. Will be back :)

I hadn’t been to Marrickville for…years. Where’s Nick (on the advice of friends) lured me here. Turns out it’s one of the best wine bars in Sydney. Period. Staff are awesome, food is great and the wine list expansive (proper Brunello in a Sydney wine bar…yes!). Just go.

Such a homey venue with an incred food and wine list. Bridgette and Steve were extremely polite and accommodating despite juggling a hugely busy Friday night and I couldn’t be more thankful. Fluffiest focaccia, well-balanced flavours and textures for food all around, and such a lovely wine offering. Superb venue for friends and date nights alike! ☺️❤️

My wife and I have been here a few times now on a Sunday afternoon, usually for pre dinner drinks. Love the cool relaxed vibe and genuinely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We decided to have a few appetisers this time. WOW, the home made focaccia bread and warm favva dip was DELICIOUS.

To such a lovely experience to stop by this, very dimly lit, and delightfully eclectic place. The staff were terribly kind and made for a very enjoyable experience, I asked for their recommendations on the food as well as the wine and the pairing all made a lot of sense. I really enjoyed the experience and I can’t wait to pop by again when I’m in town, thanks for helping me and look forward to next time.

Where’s Nick.. what a treat. From the moment you walk into this venue you’re greeted with warmth. All night we felt welcomed and looked after - service is genuine. We were guided through the menu, and provided options for a variety of dietary requirements. There was something for everyone. The food was perfect. Each dish had its own unique flavours, and it’s obvious that the quality of produce is of a high standard. The beef carpaccio is some of the best I’ve had in Sydney. I’ll definitely be returning!

Odd experience at one of my favourite locals. We asked about one of the wines and when we were told it was a bit unusual I asked if it was possible to have a small taste. I was given a blunt NO. I don’t think I have ever had that anywhere. I’m not ordering a wine if there is doubt. So decided to order a different wine. Paid the bill and my wine was $20. Sat down and the price of the wine was rubbed out and changed to $16. Really?! What is going on? It was seconds between when I paid and when the price changed. I was hoping they would do something. Nope, nothing.

The bar is casual and inviting. The food and wine were delicious. Staff attentive but not pushy. Music was easy to talk over. We had a great night

Everything they do is class. You can safely go here, order any wine on the list and know you are in good hands. Especially recommend the range of natural ferment/ skin contact wines.

A mildly interesting evening. The WA amber wine by the glass has notes reminiscent of a cheap Riesling mixed with orange juice and day old water. Not worth the money. Service was too slow to try anything more robust.

Amazing wines, experienced bartenders, and great charcuterie and focaccia too. Definitely on the pricy side but a lovely and comfortable place to spend a date or an afternoon.

Great chill atmosphere, lovely staff and professional table service. I'm not the biggest wine drinker (there are non-wine options though) so it was great to be able to get recommendations and a taste before choosing a drink. Will would definitely go back with friends again.

Nice cosy bar with a great selection of wines always on offer. Grab a couch or seat at the window and enjoy time pass by. Staff extremely helpful.

The best bar in Marrickville. Pretty much my favourite bar in Sydney. Excellent staff. Amazing service. Always ask for their preference.

11-may-2019, sat 8pm. When we got here it was almost full, at about 9 it started getting less crowded. From about 10 it was half empty. They have a really good area near the entrance with a big table surrounded by an armchair a large couch and several tables. They also keep playing cards and an exploding kittens pack there. They also have what seems to be a private area towards the back, down the corridor. The staff are incredibly nice and polite. I wanted to start the night with something light, just a tonic. I wanted to pay but bartender said it wasn't necessary. I later bought a gin and tonic, see photo (Mulberry type, SA, 13$). It was good. I can't remember but I think they're missing a proper large sign with the place's name. They just had a small blackboard outside with some small writing saying 'Where's Nick?". I recommend this place.

Cool little bar where nothing is a problem for staff!

Went with some friends, we didn't have wine. I thought the prices were a bit steep for drinks $18 for a Whiskey. The food wasn't great, one of the dishes needed seasoning and for what we paid per head I think there should be more food. Will not be back. Service was lovely though, I think you would only go for the wine and that's it.

Not only wines, best of Trappist beers usually present. My favourite pizza was one with prosciutto and figs, not there any more :/ very nice stuff:)
