A place that used to be cool and now is way too popular for it's own good. The menu and food are pretty average, nothing too innovative, so it doesn't draw you back for a midweek pub feed when it's not as busy. That being said, I've been here many times during the day when it's not as busy and the staff are equally unappealing to interact with because they all seem unhappy or grumpy. It makes me feel sad. Used to love The Vic but it's not the same as it once was. Hope there's no underlying issues. More likely a victim of it's own success. The pub has leaned more into the angle of being a school pub. The ones where you go to hang out with the exact same people you spent all day with at uni or school... Always lots of fun when you're at school but makes the pub feel cliquey and unappealing to visit. I'd come back on weekdays if the menu was improved. Please consider 🙏❤️

A great old school pub. Stangely with a basketball court. Good food and a great range of drinks. The Sunday sessions are busy with a DJ ir live music. Big screens inside for live sports. A large beer garden with cool graffiti. It was a big surprise when I went inside as it looks kind of old from the outside.

The Vic On The Park is a popular hangout for locals with lots of different areas to enjoy reasonably priced drinks. They also have a bistro in the back with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and tables. You can even reserve a table for large groups. The staff are really friendly.

The Vic On The Park is another Merivale success. This quirky pub located in Marrickville is unique. There’s a basketball court decorated with cool graffiti. Serving all your usual pub favourites but the charcoal grill and rotisserie is next level and superb! Just love our heritage local pubs 🍾🥂🍻

Called in for a beer after coming across the pub going for a walk filling in time waiting to see a show. Great old time pub with a fantastic beer garden area out the back. Workers/ staff were very friendly.

Very hipster and vibing place. I love their large outdoor seatings because dogs are allowed! Just that alone I'll give four stars. Lovely pub in Marrickville. It's only my first visit so will have to go back again for a proper dinner.

Super cool venue with lots of different spaces and bars. Basketball Court / dance floor is a super fun experience, and good music and artists on the bill. They also serve Heaps Normal, which gets a big tick in my book.

Had the lamb kofta with pita bread meal and it was pretty average. The lamb wasn't very flavourful and was dry as well. Not great, especially for the price. The fries were good though, and the place was very hip and vibrant for dinner.

What a great neighbourhood pub! We hung out in the garden bar yesterday for a Sunday lunch. I had the 1/2 roast jerk chicken, which was served with some pita bread and a generous portion of chips for an extra $3 (which I probably didn’t need). My sister and wife shared the nachos and ate some of my chips. Good selection of local beers on tap and a great neighbourhood vibe.

Was lovely vibe, plenty of outside seating, great chicken wings and cold beer. Also who would have thought you would see a couple of horses pull up at a Newtown pub!

Place was full of happy people! Lots of tables (but always need more chairs). Atmosphere outside was lovely and everyone friendly. Band playing inside was pretty cool too. I was too drunk to remember how clean the bathrooms were but that can be a good thing, and there defs was loo roll! Will be coming back for sure.

Great chips! Chicken wings and the sauce were so tasty. Large selection of drinks. Recommend trying out the hot dog but quite expensive, but the outdoor scenery and vibe makes it worthwhile. Dog friendly, toilets were clean, large screen for sports.

Vic On the Park is a gem! The pool table area is where the good times roll – competitive games, laughter, and great company. The outdoor garden vibe is a breath of fresh air, literally. It's my go-to spot for soaking up some sun while enjoying a chilled drink. The staff here are the real MVPs – always friendly, making you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. Plus, the drinks won't break the bank, which is a win in my book. Whether you're up for a game, a lazy afternoon in the garden, or just a casual drink, Vic On the Park nails it! Cheers to a place that feels like a second home.

Been coming here all my life. Recently it was bought out but honestly, the changes are so much better. Great atmosphere, good vibes and service is fantastic. It was about an hour before closing time and I asked the staff if he could turn on the heater and he went out of his way to replace the gas bottle and turn it on. Appreciate the extra effort mate. Very loud in the front room when bands play and the women's toilets could be cleaner as someone took off a toilet seat and there was no toilet paper left. Outside area is gorgeous and dog friendly though so LOVE that! Proudly a local for 30 years and loving it.

A huge courtyard with live reggae music on a Sunday late afternoon was fantabulous! Sit on the spectator bench, have a ciggie and watch people play (airball) basketball is very entertaining! A jug cost about 25 bucks. Such a great gathering place! Train station is 20 min away but buses are close. Don't drink and drive please!

This pub is just great, love the space, Basketball court, graffitied walls. Really cool. Good beer selection and food is usually very good too (not so much last time we were there but I'm hoping that was the exception)

Recently went on the Saturday of a long weekend. While the venue was filled with so many patrons, it was rich and vibrant, with staff bringing out orders so quickly it felt impossible. The staff are superb! Oh my! And the music lineup! You can never go wrong with solid drinks and beautiful music! Johnny Hunter is perfect, just like The Vic On The Park

Awesome place for a night out with friends. Great food. Very cool vibe. Nice friendly staff and really good live music

The staff were nice and the set up is pleasant with plenty of indoor/ outdoor seating. There are stairs inside to access outdoor seating but there's a side entrance without stairs if needed. I had the lamb dish- basically a deconstructed lamb kebab and the flavour was ok but I felt the amount of flesh was stingy and also pretty fatty. Not filling.

Jemma is that good. She made my night. She is the most beautiful bartender I’ve ever met. Bit just looks but spirit. It worth coming here to see her. Adham is good too. He has that Egyptian flair

Thank you to Vic on the Park staff, Luckily we booked a table outside as the place was pumping when we arrived great atmosphere and the food and beers were fabulous, sadly missed out on shooting a few hoops on the half basketball court. 🏀 Short walk to the Factory Theatre to see Strangelove on Saturday night didn't disappoint will definitely come again

Fripps & Fripps were, as always, an absolute top band to see play live! The Vic on The Park was a cool venue to host, offering a great variety of drinks and a bistro (however we ate from the burger truck next door and weren't allowed into the pub w/ them so be sure to eat outside). A trendy place I wouldn't mind seeing again.

The Vic is an inviting place with appealing decor and plenty of space for patrons. The drinks and food are awesome plus the basketball half court and grandstand at the rear just adds a touch of something different and unique. Dogs are welcome throughout the venue too so our little puppy is happy there as well.
