Look yes it’s not the fanciest pub nor the most slick around but there’s a lot of heart here for an otherwise dilapidated area. I appreciate the old school drag bingo and 80s/90s nights they do. People over 40 exist, they really do! My orders took a while but were duly compensated which was a gratuitous effort on part of the manager. Certainly a very friendly and communal vibe here. Give it a go and see what Australiana is about. Any endorsement by Hawkey is right by me.

Great box tick pub this one. Slim Dusty’s song about the pub is an Aussie classic. Straight up pub with a great atmosphere and fantastic food. None of the usual pub distractions tab, pokies or keno. The food was top shelf as was the service. A definite must do pub whether you are a Slim Dusty fan or not.

LOVE this place!! It’s a true blue Aussie pub!!! Everything you need is at this pub, good food, friendly customer service, a pool table and so many dogs to pat…what more could you want! The food is great and the specials are amazing value for money! (Wednesday steak night is my fave! Huge steak always perfectly cooked!) I have quite a serious allergy and the kitchen are always really careful to make sure my food is fresh and tomato free. Lloyd the barman is super friendly to chat too and goes out if his way to help customers out🧡 Looking forward to the doggy day on March 5th for some brews and doggy cuddles! 🐶

As a dart lives in pursuit of a bullseye, carefully crafting its path to the central spot of solace, everyday I do the same. As work ends and I punch in my time clock, I immediately begin carefully crafting my path to the town & country hotel, my own central spot of solace. Although while the payoff of a bulls eye lies in a competitive victory, the bullseye of the town & country is the connections you forge inside the walls. Even if you enter alone, you’ll walk out hand in hand with a renewed perspective on the path you’ll one day craft for yourself. Also Glens great

Excellent pub and dog friendly to boot! Never had any drama's at the Town and Country, they also put on great band nights! The people here are open minded and very welcoming. Good establishment to support. Thank you for all of the good times 😘

Awesome place! The meals are tasty and exceptional value for money on special nights. Love that the place is dog friendly. Lloyd (the barman) is the best, super nice guy and his service is almost better than the beer!

Chef needs to learn how to not overcook a medium rare steak, but overall a nice suburban pub

Thank you to Lloyd, Glenn and Garry for looking after us. Fantastic food, fantastic service and a fantastic atmosphere. If I could give 20 stars I would. There last night. Karaoke was fun, no judging. The lady Dom that runs the karaoke amazing. Highly recommended this place. Even have bowls of water for fur babies🎤🎤❤️❤️

A fun and friendly low key pub with a good selection of booze and decent and reasonably priced menu. Well behaved pups are welcome and given treats. The manager, Glen, was welcoming and took the time to answer our questions and explain the history of the place. Will definitely be back.

Very quintessential Aussie pub with trendy inner West adornments throughout the bar now ....as you do in St Peters...... along with a Slim Dusty painting of course, It is the pub after all, that he made famous... Beer with Duncan..... It's coming along, but I hope he reduces his prices on national beers... no poker machines here & why beers are $8.50 per schooner publican tells me? . It's worth dropping in & checking out... nice beer garden. I haven't tried the food yet?

Just went in to eat, play pool and pinball. The food was much better than we'd expected from a pub, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They had a concert harrowing that night which we would've liked to see but our schedule just didn't allow it.

At the footsteps of Marrickville and st Peter's is this oasis away from the hussle and bustle lies TCH, where Live Friday's hosta fantastic live and local alternative, original and independent bands perform awesome nights, tailored gigs that satisfy punters and lovers of music, in a unique way in a comfortable atmosphere and staffed by friendly crew giving great service, always a great night here, I've been coming here for the last few years and seen it transform into into a second loungeroom

the girl who served us and cleared our table, wearing a blue shirt on 16th of December was the sweetest, she worked so hard and was so lovely to us, she deserves all the praise in the world — you made our night <3

The pub itself is okay and the staff are good and friendly. Meals are pretty good also. What brings it down for me is the karaoke. It was good when Rufus hosted it, but very unorganised and rigged now that it's run by Dominique. She allows all her friends to jump the queue and sing more songs, while people who were there before have to wait hours on end and only get to sing one song. Unfair and not good. Rufus also brought a lot more life into the karaoke nights. Dominique is just dull, like the rest of the crowd/friends. Will be going to karaoke elsewhere from now on. The crowd are all a bunch of undesirables anyway. Will come to the pub for a drink or meal only when karaoke night isn't on.

Even though kitchen was closed the lovely lady working at the bar put on some fries for my partner and I. Lovely customer service!!

pub could use a renovation, as well as airconditioning as it's styfling in summer. Waited 40 minutes for my tables food only to suprisingly discover a black piece of hair. The only great thing the town and country have done is bring in Fanstasia Towers. I will not be returning in the forseeable future as Miss Fantasia is no longer doing her bingo drag shows. My money will go else where.

I go to this place because of the karaoke but the food is fantastic the serving sizes are large the bar staff are very friendly and they get seem to get to know you it's a nice cozy atmosphere very friendly there's no arguments no fights no drugs no dramas which is a great thing to go out and not have any issues I enjoy it I would recommend this place to people that just want to pop in on a Saturday night when the karaoke is on or if you just wanted to go in for a meal

Another great Wednesday night with karaoke enjoyed by all. We're all accustomed to getting the earworm after listening to some songs on radio, but when you've sung something the next day your walking around all day with a jumbo-earworm for company. Oh and there's good hearty food to enjoy while waiting your turn "on stage"
