After finding the brewery we were headed to was closed we popped over here for a few beers and dinner. Was nice sitting outside with the gas heaters on for a few beers and dinner. Food was pricey for a club meal but was very nice and the cheese garlic bread was superb.

100% Had the most fantastic team event the other week at Marrickville bowling club. It was perfect, the lawn bowls was fun, everyone was so happy, outdoors- so covid safe, the bar staff were so friendly and helpful, and Bik the chef at Rita's Bistro put on the most amazing food for the team of 40, so varied, catered for all dietary requirements, he is a fantastic chef! The staff are so down to earth, relaxed, friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to have our next event there. Highly recommend having your next event here and having a great feed with Rita's Bistro looking after you!🤩

Spent money on an Uber to go go 40 minutes to this place in order to support a friend’s band with some friends visiting from out of country. Paid for tickets. Paid for and drank five schooners quietly at our table over two hours. I got up to use the bathroom and after I finished I came out to be confronted by security and I was told I had to leave the premises. I thought it was a mistake or misunderstanding, and when I asked what was the matter was, I was told that I was “too drunk” and had to leave. I was physically escorted out of the venue without further explanation.

This club is awesome 👌. Note that you will need to either get a membership, be a local resident or have someone with a membership to sign you in. We had our discipline function organized at this venue. It was fun and the food was nice. Definitely recommend!

Worst experience with the staff. The environment was good and we were enjoying the music but some guy at the bar kicked us without a reasonable justification. His only justification was “I’m the owner and I decide who is in the Club” We payed tickets for a show that we couldn’t enjoy. There was no chance to talk to anybody for a justification on why we had lo leave. We were not drunk and we were not doing anything wrong. There were people that were actually drunk and they didn’t have to leave as we did. As stated before, no one give us a reasonable justification.

One of the staff was racist and very disrespectful. My friend was pushed out, without any justification. We were just having a couple of beers at the table, and he was in perfect condition. The manager said that it was because of his appearance and that there was nothing that would make him change his mind. Even if it was a misunderstanding, the way we were treated was horrible.

Great old establishment. Staff very friendly. Food very nice and big servings, well priced.... They looked after us for a work doo for the Barefoot bowls. Great afternoon had by all of us.

One of the few still active local bowling clubs around with VERY passionate members. Live local bands area with a good size solid stage on south wall, not the silly little pop up in corner some places have. Great bistro in back left corner behind stage, be patient with the buzzer, good food takes time to prep. (try the chicken parmy). A minimal poker machine area (a good thing). Respect the rules of a bowlo. 1. Dont step on the green unless you are bowling. Even to take a short cut. 2. Have a good time. This is a mix of hipsters & mature generation folk enjoying a good time. Worth checking out.

Contacted Emma as I wanted to reverse a dinner for my family and she said that they don't take reservations, then I asked my wife to try again the next day and she allowed it, I have an accent and she may have not let me book it because of my accent? She was constantly being rude to me and I do not recommend as they don't value non aussie customers

Good spot for some bowls and drinks. Food was tasty. Got quite busy late in the afternoon on a Saturday with lots of young people having a few drinks before heading out for the night I guess. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

An Aussie institute. It's all old school but in a modern way. This place just felt inviting and good. I will definitely go back when i visit Sydney next.

Great club, good selection of food on the menu, , all the food we had was great and will visit again. Was lucky enough to win the meat raffle as well.

It's old and barely scraping through the 80s but I go there for the live music and dancing. The timber floor is sometimes a bit sticky but gets over itself after a bit of persistent dancing on it and smooths out. Then it's quite good to be on. It's a reasonable size and the band is visible from all areas except the dining room. Don't eat here if you want to be able to talk over the music. The food is quite good though, even with a minimal menu. The staff are mostly friendly.

No frills fun times, good place to catch up with mates or see a gig. Their schnitzels are made fresh and I rate them highly. Saw Amal and the Sniffers playing live here - combination of the venue + explosive live performance was something that I'll remember forever. Love this joint, proud member of the bowlo.

A warm welcome at reception, friendly bar staff, good bistro, vibrant atmosphere indoors and outdoors with a guaranteed good stage band to boot. All lends itself to a good time at the Marrickville Bowlo.

One of the last remaining live music venues in Sydney , what a shame there can't be more. State government is trying it's best to control every aspect of our lives. REVOLUTION IS COMING

Had fun playing lawn bowl and the buffet was surprisingly good.

First time visit to Marrickville Bowlo it has its old school charm while being a little rough around the edges. $6.50 for schooner of Bulmers Cider was excellent value. The bistro had surprisingly run out of Bangers and Mash, so we both had Chicken Schnitties with chips and salad ($22). Chicken schnitzel was delicious, large portion and perfectly cooked. Chips were a strange yellow colour probably from the oil. Salad was mixed leaf with one piece of tomato and only a small amount of vinaigrette that hadn't been fully tossed through. Mushroom gravy was nice but regular brown gravy was very watery. Food service was pretty fast. Minus a star for the nasty long black hair that was in the bottom of my iced water and the lounge chairs are incredibly dangerous. The legs are bent and not all touching the ground. My dad almost hit the deck. Lawsuit waiting to happen, pls fix!

Great haloumi burger while watching free bands on a Sunday afternoon! Diverse friendly crowd! There was much dancing to the @Honeystompers and @Balkangrill !

Great food and drinks. Bare foot bowls as well it just got better. Friendly staff and helpful as well.

An absolute classic bowling club! There’s nothing overly fancy with this place and that’s the real charm. They pour a cold pint and their food is well priced, especially being in the Inner West. The bowling greens are well taken care of which is also a plus. The Marrickville Bowlo is really all you can ask for in a bowling club. Looking forward to my next roll.

Work Christmas party. Super friendly staff All round good vibes.

Called to enquire about a position. I asked reception to speak with the centre manager, a woman asked me what for and I only managed to get the words "A position I..." out before she rudely hung up on me and refused to answer my following 2 calls. I figured out pretty quickly it wasn't a place I'd like to work in.

Excellent place to see bands with good beer but the food was a let down. Had the rump which was cooked well but chewy. Chips were oily and average and salad was a few leaves. No seasoning what's so ever on anything. Is this a Sydney thing to not use salt and pepper?

A star to the lady at the door who had the audacity to make me pay $10 after paying $30 to a club that I always get into free with a smirk. Not very good to force membership on someone like that, better to ask ‘ would you like a membership and can you afford this, Rather than shoving it in down my throat with no remorse. Turn a good night on its head by stealing from the unemployed.
