Poor customer service. The staff aren’t well trained and professional. They picked up soviets from the ground and put back on the table. When asked about the menu’s items didn’t know what it is. Asked another staff when served the oysters whether they were Australian but he said he is new here and don’t know about it. Barramundi and eggplant were good

Such a nice place! Both for lunch and partying. A bit pricey indeed but the vibe is just amazing and the food is incredible. Highly recommend!

We went of a super busy Friday night. The booking system online was quite efficient and easy which was great! Unfortunately the efficiency stopped there.... Our drink orders were forgotten several times. Two of us ordered the pork and it arrived cold. We noticed chefs eating chips (fingers in mouth) that fell off the serving plates but didn't wash their hands. When it came to paying our bill the guy tending to us was unjustly rude and arrogant, like we were a nuisance to him for paying our $500 bill. He didn't even say thank you or wish us a good night in fact he didn't even say anything expect how much we owe. Very poor service and very disappointing. The only thing that helped this review obtain two stars was the lovely young girl that waited our tables. She was very sweet and polite and always had a smile on her face even though is was super busy. Well done!

Covid has definitely affected the quality of food and service. We are locals and have been to the Coogee pavilion more than 10 times and today as usual, we ordered the meat balls which were our favourite. They brought an almost raw meatball, completely red inside. We returned the meatballs and someone came to our table to say “oh we always do it medium” which is a total lie because we have been ordering this for the past year or so. Just accept your quality of food is below average. Also the soft drinks were completely flat, no gas at all.

Could someone from Coogee Pavilion please explain why an African-American woman was the only one out of our group (last Friday at Coogee Pavion Rooftop) asked by security to leave the premises when she was not drunk, was not rowdy in any way, and was behaving in an entirely appropriate (and quiet) way? I have attempted to contact you directly via phone, but have not received any return phone call despite being assured I would be called by a Manager to follow up on the incident.

The location is perfect and atmosphere is great and kid’s friendly. But, if your budget is tight, this place is not for you. 1 adult and 2 under 10 years old boys we spent 166 and the pastas were finished in less than 10 bites. You have to order at lest 3 pastas for an adult to feel full.

Situated on the beach with wonderful views of the beach, park and town and heaps of parking. I just loved the look of the building inside and out. This place caters for everyone and I mean from families with very young children to the party animals and business meetings etc. It has the levels from memory and I just love how well it flows and such a wonderful vibe that makes you want to stay. Beats any place I've been to in a very long time. Both Melbourne and Sydney. Nothing else compares.

Great food, good vibe and friendly waiters. Unfortunately suffers from knuckle dragging staff manning the door - even at 5pm on a Saturday - but that's hard to get around in Sydney these days. After finishing late lunch on the ground floor we were refused entry upstairs. Decided to take out party of 6 up the road to the competitors to celebrate my wife's birthday instead. Had a great night despite the chimpanzees. Go for the food and the vibe. Don't expect common sense from the door staff.

Massive spacious space, amazing fit outs and decor. One part is a bar and other side is a full table service restaurant. Amazing area for kids including a tv room with Peppa pig! Very kid friendly. But you have to book or be lucky to score a a free table. Also, be aware when ordering kids food - specify if you want individual kids menu items or the kid set menu (comes with juice and gelato) which costs $21 and personally, it does not seem like a bargain since kids meal is $13, ice cream was special kids size. Everything else was very tasty. Service was also friendly and attentive.

The place is incredible and it has a fantastic location right next to the beach. However the service was very mediocre and the food was delicious but overpriced. Definitely family friendly for brunch and lunch!

Great location right on Coogee beach. The food quality is good but a bit pricey. The menu hasn’t changed for a while but they have a good variety of fish, meat, pizza, salads and a nice kids menu including chicken schnitzel, fish n chips etc.

Coogee Pavilion is the epitome of a beachfront haven. Whether it's a sunny day out or a cozy evening, this place never disappoints. The vast open space offers the perfect setting for a relaxed meal or casual drinks with friends. The food, from fresh seafood to pub classics, is consistently tasty, and the variety of craft beers and cocktails adds to the fun. It's the kind of spot where you can easily spend hours, enjoying the atmosphere and beachfront views. Coogee Pavilion has become a go-to for a laid-back, enjoyable time by the sea, and I can't recommend it enough for a taste of the coastal lifestyle.

A place that I was never expecting to have a decent meal. I went there to celebrate a birthday, and Coogee Pavilion always bring me a impression of touristy or for young people get drunk. But I was wrong, the service was very good and efficient. The food was good, a little bit expensive for what they serve. But in general pretty good. Not may beer selection, as all marivale venues have a problem with. But the shinitty was good, with no gravy. But well executed, and house made coleslaw. My wife had the fish and chips, nice portions and well executed with a good mayo. In general good place, just too loud and crowded.

Pizza is always good here in the downstairs bar. During covid they now have a handy little table ordering button which means you don't have to go to the bar!

A very good experience! We were a party of 4 (plus a dog) and managed to get a table outside, with the water view. The starters were all excellent: polenta, grilled octopus and especially the cuttlefish - my personal favorite. We were at first a bit underwhelmed by the menu for the main dish but ended up with a nice selection of fish and seafood, with the chef’s special ratatouille. And the dessert really elevated the meal, thanks to the service: our waitress Elena (Helena?) described the Swiss roll (with fresh mint and mango) as a « flight to paradise »… and she was spot on, it was a perfect way to end the meal. Long story short: superb location, lovely service and food food, a perfect place for a nice weekend lunch with friends!

Location is amazing but thats about it. So expensive. Couldn't book a table for nights at the restaurant so was told to try the bar. The music was so loud you practically have to yell (this was mid afternoon) Very expensive, no craft beers on tap. I would not go back or recommend

Large venue along the coast. It's popular in the afternoons and evenings, so book ahead for the restaurant or you can usually find a spot in the bar area. There are some interesting things on the menu, like leatherjacket, which I had. The food was tasty, but not amazing. It's a simple ordering process using your phone.

Big and busy dinning area on the ground floor hut food comes out really quick. Love the chips and eggplant fries and desserts here. The burrata is okay. Will def come back to try more and go upstairs. Follow @karliepap on TikTok to find out more!

My seafood chowder was a disappointment, very small soup like portion with no prawns and little substance - the liquid was very thin for a chowder and served with a slice of sourdough toast. Very expensive at $36. The grilled octopus was overcooked and chewy with no taste. The burger was salty and a bit pink in the middle. The pizza however was good. King Prawns were fine but the bread was stale.

Rooftop is a great venue..mm but pls get real with the drinks. $20 for a pre-made espresso martini that was tiny and all froth. Absolute rip off in a cheap plastic cup. Guess the venue allows them to rort customers and get away with it. But... As I said. Great venue. Good music. Great rooftop vibes. Now they put the umbrellas down despite us not wanting to for no obvious reason. But they didn't take them away so now we have a bulky pulled down umbrella blocking the view of all of.us sitting around the table. Just complete stupidity. Clearly don't give an f about their clientelle. .

More an upmarket pub with slightlyil overpriced food. The steak I got was swimming in a bloodbath. Wait staff are nice but inexperienced (had to ask twice for cutlery and asked for colouring pens for the kid's menu but got a jug of water instead when I already have a bottle on the table), which annoys me when I am charged a 10% surcharge on a Sunday. I've been to better venues from the Merivale group. Certainly not on the return list for me.

I was there for dinner with a friend and we sat at the section for walk-ins because it was an unplanned event. My friend lived in Randwick and suggested we dine at the Coogee Pavillion. I checked the menu online and it seemed to offer a healthy selection of food. We ordered snapper ceviche, dutch carrots, grilled octopus, kingfish sashimi and chips. We also ordered drinks separately right after the food order using the me&u app QR code for the table. I seldom provide a one star review and unfortunately, the overall food and experience did not meet expectations and failed in every aspect that night. Food - the portions are small and I would expect excellent quality and taste for the price, however it was very underwhelming. The snapper ceviche was not seasoned and the sauce was tasteless. The "Dutch carrots" were standard carrots cut up into long pieces and definitely not what was advertised but served with also tasteless white sauce. Grilled octopus not seasoned. Kingfish sashimi was OK but was also not seasoned. Service - The chips was OK but served in a plastic plate when I saw a Caucasian couple with a beautifully served chips using proper plate and nice cutlery. They were also in the walk in area and therefore, no excuse for the stark contrast. Our wines were not served at all... and we had to approach a bar staff as to why 1.5 hours has lapsed and the drinks had not been delivered. We were advised the staff shut down the machines because they had issues with the ordering app? I don't understand... who does that while the whole place is packed with customers... and you shut down the machine anyway. That provides me an idea of how the place is run. I would say the place is good for drinks not for food unless you want to pay for poor quantity and quality at unreasonable prices. Highly do NOT recommend if you are after a good night out and you are not Caucasian. I forgot to add that a wait staff kept carrying a crate of dishes or something and kept bumping into my back despite it was already the end of the night and there was no one at the table behind me and there was a clear passage. Super disrespectful and utterly lost for words on how horrible the experience was.

The venues location and atmosphere is awesome, great for a long lunch or brunch with friends. There is a rooftop bar that you can book for parties , which is great! Food is average pub style dishes.

Great venue and a great setting next to the water. Food was very good, wait staff were very friendly. Parking is a nightmare and the venue can be quite loud due to the style of restaurant, which is fine as long as you're aware.

Despite showing up with a big group of 10 on a busy lunch time weekend the host was able to accommodate us, we had to wait for 20 minutes on the waiting list which we didnt mind at all. The food was beautiful, thanks guys

Before coming, we contacted them to ask if we needed to book a table. They said that it was not needed. Once we arrived, however, they told us there were no available tables, and we had to sit at the bar. Fortunately, we were able to find a table and order the margarita pizza. It arrived very quickly, and it was delicious! It is a great place to try tab beers as they have a great variety. Despite the booking issue, this was a lovely place near the beach.

Have enjoyed some nights out here with pizza and drinks. But that’s the extent of it and that’s all I’ll stick to in future. I regret recommending this joint for dinner. Completely overpriced and underwhelming meal. (Pics and caption added.) We paid over $30 each for our meal and we’re now planning to go get more food somewhere else.

Really amazing place to feel vacation. The day we vsited here was a super sunny day with cool wind. 1. Food Food was nice. We ordered Chicken Schnitzel, Octopus and Pasta. Only Octopus was dried-octopus so that taste is not good but Schnitzel and Pasta was perfect. 2. Offered service Service was good but it’s not easy for us to talk with staffs here because our table was outdoor table. However, general service from this restaurant was really good and kind. 3. Atmosphere Outdoor table is very fantastic when weather is good. Indoor table was not my preference because music was too loud for me. however, this place is really kid-friendly place so you also can come with family. 4. Value Price is not cheap but when you consider you are in sea, then it’s acceptable.

Pretty busy place but lots of seating available. It’s sort of like a food court where they have different restaurants all sharing the same space. Pizza was really good, great flavour, and the salad was so fresh, and flavoursome. Took them ages to get our drinks.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here I work in hospitality myself for over 4 years. I was seating at a table before the reservation arrived also I didn’t know if it was the whole table or half, I knew I had to leave at some point that part didn’t bother me. All of a sudden a French girl appears at my side unsure weather it was her section she was looking after or if other staff told her to do it so they don’t get blamed unsure. I was halfway through my pasta 🍝 and wine 🍷 I could feel my food getting cold. I said to her I’ll find another spot I tell her I found a spot and she then tells me everywhere is reserved when they were people leaving from the area I found a spot to seat and finish off my pasta & wine $40.00 including the surcharge on the me&u app The pasta did not excite me the wine was nice. I also saw the lady in all black the one that managers/host most of the workers or customers/clients that come into the venue she looked unsure of herself. My friend use to work here, he was very switch on & so was the rest of the staff at the time. I feel because there was a staff change, it looks like either the new staff were hired based on looks or I don’t wanna say this who they slept with or if their family have a connection to the owners and not experience. Because I feel I had a run around the venue to finish off what I had which was less than 10 minutes to finish and bare in mind the booking was 5:50pm I was there at 6pm just about finished and the people that reserved the whole row haven’t arrived so they were late for their own reservation for the whole section, I did not see anyone. I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️ train new people because it’s sad to see others in the industry not quick thinking of where to take someone & make me or someone else feel uncomfortable or less in a venue where the food is very expensive. The price of the food has to match the service not make a customer feel they could of spent 20-25$ at a venue that charges 30-40$ for a meal not including alcohol. Please management take this & not only train in what every venue does also train staff to answer & problem solve.

Definitely nice place for the location. Typical Australian simple but effective service. food definitely below expectations for such a place by the sea. nothing special . The bill is decidedly high for two salads, a bottle of water and a platter of cold cuts.

Service is quick. And found us a table without a reservation. Chicken burger needed more sauce but okay. Chips needs salt. Squid not sure what happened there very oily. PIZZA always fantastic. Octopus with yogurt not too sure about that.

Terrible for people with dietary requirements! I went here last Sunday for my Dad's family birthday lunch, had a very negatively emotional experience, was told I'd be contacted that night so they could try and rectify the situation, and I am still waiting for that call, 4 days later. Here's what happened - I have Crohn's Disease, which means I have lots of dietary requirements that need accommodating. My Dad loves the Mediterranean menu on the Coogee Pavings rooftop, so I called 1 month in advance to see if they could accommodate me. They assured me that they could, by having the chef's whip up a custom dish for me on the day. When we got there on Sunday we discovered that the normal Mediterranean menu on the rooftop is not currently available due to COVID. Instead they were only serving antipasto and pizzas, despite confirming only the day before when my parents called that the Mediterranean menu was still available. So they took us to the ground floor restaurant instead. The first thing we did was double check they could still accommodate me down there. They said they could, so we settled in, ordering some drinks and starters. It was only after this that we discovered they couldn't really accommodate me. Initially they mentioned they could accommodate me by tweaking 3 of the 4 salads on their menu. However doing so would mean cutting out half the salad. So I asked if they could do a custom salad for me, or simply add a few other ingredients into the salad I'd cut in half to fill it out a bit. They said no. After continued questioning of this, they said they could make additions to the salad, but only at an additional cost per added ingredient. Absolute bull. Now, I’m pretty reasonable. If I were getting a normal salad and adding a few things in, sure, I’d be happy paying additional. But when I’ve already had to cut out half the salad due to dietary requirements they said they could accommodate, and then make me pay more for basic add ins, to me, that’s a hell no. Let me paint a picture for you. The original salad was chicken , farro, rocket, fennel, broccolini, avocado and dressing. With my tweaks it was only rocket, broccolini and avocado. So you can see why I wanted to add things such as tomato, cucumber, olives and edamame in, to fill it out a bit, and was shocked when they pushed back. I know this doesn’t sound like much of an ordeal to most, but for me, this is something I need to deal with every single time I eat out. And the fact that I called a month in advance to confirm they could accommodate me, only to find out they couldn’t, or semi could, but only at an additional cost is what really upsets me. We would have gone elsewhere had we known this in advance. And with all this playing on my mind, I couldn’t keep the tears in and had to leave to table to calm myself down. Happy birthday Dad! Not. Our waitress noticed how upset I was and said she'd speak to her manager to see if there was anything they could do to rectify the situation, and that I could expect a call later that day. As mentioned above, I am still waiting on that call, and the fact that they have now let me down again has left an even nastier taste in my mouth.

An awesome establishment right by Coogee beach! This place has multiple floors that entertain a range of different customers; from family-friendly fun downstairs to a rooftop bar up the top. For food, you must try their pizza! Brilliantly cooked and super flavoursome and not too long of a wait even on a weekend! Lines for the bars upstairs can be quite lengthy but the space and ambiance compensate for it. Overall a fun and chill place to spend a weekend out and within walking distance from the beach, the location is very hard to beat!

This is the best pizza in Sydney, hands down. Big call I know... I take pizza very seriously :) I travel from Leichhardt (little Italy) to get pizza here. Consistently exceptional. Great service as well, very professional team of waitstaff, all in a delightful atmosphere. Can get noisy at busy times, and it does get busy so book ahead or turn up early and put your name down for a table.

They did not cut our takeaway pizza!! A rude shock to open the pizza box once we arrived home to realise that the kitchen staff had failed to evenly distribute our pizza into 8 different pizzas and instead lazily left it as 1 giant piece! This is unacceptable as 3 girls were wanting to eat it! How does one share 1 piece between 3? Therefore 1/5 star rating is given to the pizza cutters of coogee pav

The way this place has reacted to COVID-19 is brilliant. No contact whatsoever with the staff to order your meal and drinks ? with the system and the online menu (Me&u system). Pizza ? is great even for a picky Italian like me, the meals are fresh (fish ? and meat ?) and there’s a kids area with table games and a 3x3mt scrabble Definitely a place to try and come back.
