What a pleasant surprise Stanbuli was. Every dish a clever and modern interpretation on traditional middle eastern dishes. We opted for lots of entrees and weren't dissapointed with a single dish. Returned after our show at The Enmore for desert and a nightcap. Seriously good food and even better service.

Order the banquet and you won't be disappointed. Often when we go to a restaurant we'll try and "beat the banquet" ordering al a carte to get more value or swap and change things that might be on the menu that aren't in the banquet. This isn't one of those restaurants. We honestly thought we were towards the end with our mezze plates, and were so content we were surprised when the charcoal dishes came out! Hence the lack of photos. The wait staff were excellent. They spoke us through each dish and had great drinks recommendations all night. Will definitely be back, will remember not to eat lunch next time though to make sure we can fit it all in!

So... I suggested this as a place to go with my Turkish girlfriend and her family. Definitely a gamble for me. The good news is that they loved it. I loved it. It was loved all around. The meal was reasonably priced and we were incredibly full at the end. Would highly recommend if you were in the mood for a Turkish feast.

(Translated by Google) Stanbuli Istanbul cuisine featuring chef Ibrahim Kasif from Porteno, a famous Australian fine dining. Stylish Turkish restaurant with authentic identity among the many restaurants in Newtown Using the exterior of the 1950's hair salon, the unique and attractive entrance and the modern interior make the store different and stylish. When you open the door, all the servers smile brightly and greet each other without making reservations, but you can feel the manager's ability in making a professional and senseful place. The ground is a casual, modern wine bar, and the stairs make it a more elegant restaurant. There are a variety of photographs on the wall, and on one side is a series of award-winning frames from 2016. Kingfish tabulรฉ, potato salad, smokey egg plant, and ricotta dumpling ordered as appetizers were all good. It was a taste. It was a very different taste from the traditional tabules I had known and ate so many times, and the ricotta dumplings from the last Mezze were perfect to applaud the fantastic combination of tomatoes and haricots. The bread before the meal was good, and it went well with all the Mezze, and the kingfish and dumplings were really wine-like. I want to go back and eat it. The start was so good that I had high expectations for Maine, but Maine had good fish dishes, and the rest was surprisingly plain and alright. In addition, the last mutton tasted good with the right spices, but it was too tough to overcook it, so it was uncomfortable to eat, and the jaws were too cold, so I tried to skip the dessert and chat. ย The waiter asked me about the food and talked about the lamb. I ordered all of the four desserts that I prepared for a good mood, and I tasted it. If I didn't really eat dessert, I would regret leaving it. Turkish donuts were slightly sweet and tasted similar to Korean glutinous rice bread, and the rest of the desserts were delicious, but Coupรฉ was the best Turkish dessert I ever had. I've experienced quite a few kebab shops and Turkish food in Australia, but most of them were street food style and I thought it was the first time for a good Turkish restaurant. There's also another restaurant to experience Stanbuli and must-see in Sydney. We attended a Significant Birthday celebration at Stanbuli. What magnificent service and food!! Space was tight between the tables, but staff were great as they juggled yet another delicious plate for the table. If you bliss out on Turkish food in Istanbul, then Stanbuli is the place to come! Highly recommend

Got takeout at this place during the current Sydney lockout. We got 2 meat dishes, fritta and 2 vege/salad dishes for $38 - good value for money! Food was tasty and fresh.

Stanbuli is my favourite restaurant in Sydney. It is the most unpretentious, most reasonably priced and most enjoyable place. I love going for a snack and a glass of wine, or with a group of people for a huge feast. Ever since it opened, Iโ€™ve celebrated birthdays, motherโ€™s days, Christmasโ€™ and family get togethers here. The staff are the most accommodating and friendly people! The food is extraordinarily delicious! The loud music and mehani vibe makes it! Ibs and his wonderful team do incredible work ?

I chose to have my birthday dinner at Stanbulli and I was not disappointed. The banquet menu was wonderfully varied and enough to feed a small village. We were so engrossed in our experience and bustling atmosphere which was complimented by the attentive servers who made the night even more special. Stanbulli.... You have my stomach so you may as well have my heart.

Stanbuli has so much character. The outside facade is fun and quirky (the owners) keeping an older storefront of a salon. However, it can get really noisy as there is alot of hard surfaces. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was good. Recommended for dates and catch ups. We ordered Manti (Turkish dumplings), Tavuk (paprika and garlic chicken), fish of the day and one more dish I cant remember to share in a group of 3.

I liked stanbuli for the meza they had a good spread with some tasty dishes, we had 5 meza and arak was really nice. The mains had been a let down having basic flavour and costing to much, comparable to other Turkish restaurant a mix plate will cost about $30 here it was $45. The staff are friendly and provide good service. My biggest issue was with the seating as it was only bar stools so we left with sore backs.

A beautiful interpretation of modern Turkish food with warmth and hospitality in equal measure. We had the chef's choice tasting menu and added the prawn and parsley filo cigars as starters and shared the mastic cream for dessert. A fabulous night out, can't wait to return

Had the chef's menu here and was blown away by the flavour, service and portion size. Started off with a table full of Mezze dishes and Turkish bread, followed by grilled meats and dessert. The food was full of flavour. Service was personalised, the waitress even shared the recipe for a salad we really enjoyed. Serving portion was generous, we were stuffed by the end of it. Had a great night here, will be back.

Refusing a pregnant woman a take away. This is horrible. I couldn't get a table as it was booked so the website said take away so I decided to drive all the way from Brighton le sands just for midye dolma and I got refused. This has been the worst ever never coming back or recommending it to anyone who's got cravings while pregnant. Never heard or seen pregnant woman being refused service this so un-turkish tradition. So upset and disappointed.

Blown away!! The intensity and flavour in each of the meze dishes was incredible; from the freshly baked bread to the simple freshness and yummyness of a beautifully dressed salad, our experience was complete Turkish food heaven! And this was before our mains even arrived! The offerings transport you, not only to honest authentic turkish cooking but also an appreciation of the depth of flavour the chef is able to extract from the produce! So much punch in each morsel! Loved loved the food and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Oh and the Raki refresher was the perfect start for this amazing culinary experience.

We were very disappointed in the customer service. We booked a table 4 months in advance for a special occasion but we were advised on arrival that they only had bar seating available and tables were reserved for large groups only. We wanted to order the banquet which is not ideal in a tiny awkward bar location. We would have sucked it up and stayed if the staff were nice about it but they were incredibly rude and condescending. We didnโ€™t feel welcome at all and chose to leave. We dined here around a year ago and had such a different experience, we sat at a table and had wonderful food and customer service.

It was great to return to Stanbuli after a break and to discover its just as good even under Covid restrictions. The spaciousness feels pretty good for the customer. We started with Balik Ekmeks (mackerel sandwich) which were good but what followed was mouth watering - a slow cooked main of lamb and potatoes plus a luscious dish of roasted fennel, capsicum, grapes. We were too full to share the 'soaked bread' desert but it was very mouth-watering as we eyed it off across the counter. The music is a bit loud for a restaurant, it felt like eating in a nightclub at times but it was turned down upon request.ย  All in all a great night out.

This modern Turkish restaurant is the bomb. Everything on the menu (that i am working through week by week) is stunning to eat. Lots of vegetarian options bursting with flavour. Love the staff too, super friendly and great drinks menu. An absolute must if you are visiting Enmore. Atmosphere is gorgeous along with the refurbishment of a once 1950s hair salon where they have kept the curved glass facade. Love this place!

First date night post COVID lockdown and it was delightful! We had the wood fired kingfish and octopus (we love our seafood) as well as the smoky eggplant with pomegranate. Safe to say we're glad we were offered some bread with the smoky eggplant dish - they went together beautifully! Even with the 10 person only restriction in place, ambiance was great and staff were friendly and attentive. The menu was also pregnancy friendly which was handy for me/us. Will definitely be back - everything we had from the food, cocktails and wine was so delicious.

Dined here last night with a group of four for a friends birthday. The interior is really cool and the food is delicious. Particularly impressed by the swordfish. We were told to get 10 dishes, we got 8 including one charcoal and that was plenty! Only thing that let the restaurant down a little was the ambience. The lighting was very bright and music very quiet.

Lovely atmsophere and great food. Best dips I have ever had ... best bbq octopus I have ever had and slow cooked lamb was brilliant. The Turkish caft beer was also superb. I will come back to try out the bar downstairs.

Quite disappointed with the banquet menu: - 80$ Yeni Raki is only 50cl, no 75cl available - No feta cheese and melon with Raki - Lahmacun and Cig Kofte were extra - No dessert with the banquet menu, also no Kunefe available - The music was irrelevant, Tupac was playing at some point :) - Adana and chicken were ok

Waited an hour and a half between mains and entrees. Mains arrived...meat was un-eatable. Boney and fatty. Chicken was bones...cuttlefish very average. Left before desert...didnโ€™t know it was coming...wouldnโ€™t have stayed for it anyway. Staff were friendly, however food and service were poor. Wonโ€™t be going back unfortunately.

Overall food was okay but nothing amazing to justify the heavy prices. We asked our waiter for his honest opinion when ordering the appetizers if it was too much, and he said we'd have plenty of room for dessert. Mind you we ordered 7 mezzes and 2 mains for two people, and I was unsure how large the appetisers would be. At better restaurants the waiters would be honest with me and tell me take this out and leave this in, warning us of portion sizes. But this bloke saw a quick cash grab and just encouraged us to order everything, even upselling me to get one more item. I took his word for it and assumed the appetizers were tiny. Boy was I wrong. The appetizers were enough to be stand alone meals in some cases and by the time our mains came, we were absolutely done. Now if the food was amazing and tasty, I wouldnt have cared as much. But I'd say half of the meals eaten were pretty average. The octopus salad was barely a salad. It was just chunks of octopus, sliver of lettuce and some zucchini. Octopus felt like it wasn't even seasoned. The cauliflower tahini, chicken main, bread, and tomato chilli dip were great, but not great enough to wash away the disappointment. My advice to the waiter would be this: a short cash grab for your business that undermines the customers experience will just lead to poor word of mouth and no more opportunities for said cash grab. Be honest with your customer and theyll come back.

By far one of Sydneyโ€™s best restaurants. Never disappoints. Food, service both superb. Always leave with a happy belly!

Giving 3 stars for friendly customer service, and building s architecture, other than that food choices are limited, doesn't match with Turkish recipes , small portions and pricey , selling food in this competitive market shouldn't that easy
