Large open plan playground with flying fox, swings and trampolines. Shaded by trees and partially fenced along the river. Bbq, picnic tables and bubbler. Rubber floor and woodchip floor. Water play area is shaded with shade cloths. Partially fenced. Creek bed style water area and water fountains. Nearby poorly maintained toilet. No nearby cafe. Lots of parking.

Water play area to be avoided. The rest is pleasant park/playground and picnic but try keeping little kids away from the water. Anxious parents and grandparents on tender hooks supervising kids and aware of how badly designed this area is. Trip hazards, slip hazards, all hard surfaces, bricks. Parents commenting on how dangerous and poorly designed it is. Two really bad kiddie accidents this morning in the space of half an hour when I was there with my grandson in the poorly designed water play area. One child tripped and fell out of the ‘water cradle’ (tub-like structure all concrete) onto the rock hard rough tiled surface below. Her head narrowly missed the brick edge. Awful. Ten minutes later a little boy slipped on the smooth tiles in the lower water section and smacked the back of his head and his tailbone on the tiles. No thanks. To add to all that the pumps were not working and a large pool of stagnant water had gathered at the lower end of the play area.

A nice and clean park with fun standard equipment and some water features for kids of all ages. Not the biggest park in Sydney but with enough to keep a 1-10 year old busy for an hour or two. Great for picnics and barbecues, with parking available at the park and nearby. Clean and available bathrooms and overall well kept make this a nice destination less than 10 minutes from Merrickville and Wolli Creek.

Great park. Better than I expected. Very family and kid friendly. There could of been more of the water park features but its a good start with plenty of room for expansion. There is free driving water. Toilets. Plenty of trees for shade which is great. I would come here again for sure.

Inner West Aquatics take great pride in maintaining the water and parks at Steel Park Waterplay, great for throwing caution to the wind and letting your little ones get slightly soaked!

This park is amazing. Loads of play equipment for the kids and lovely fenced in water play area that is perfect for warm days. Sadly the water park is not operating atm due to Covid but I’m hoping that changes very soon as my daughter is desperate to go back for a splash!

Love this park. Four water feature areas for kids to play in. My kids loved it. Toilets close by too and easy to find parking. Large field next to the park to run around on. Play equipment great and updated. Lots to keep the kids busy with. The water features are mostly shaded which helps on hot days.

Absolute bummer. Came all the way here but the water play automatically shut off because of supposed high winds. It's Sydney! There will always be winds.

Recently extended to include a fenced off section for the little ones and extended shade. The coffee cart has a concrete area now.

Great park located in the inner west! With an adjoining bike track and childrens' water play (covered) area, this park serves to be a great location to have a family / event gathering for all.

One of the most popular places we always go. It is very versatile with a water park, children playground, covered and uncovered tables. It is a goto place, especially if you have kids when it is sunny

Great for young kids especially during summer with the water park. It is nestled in a leafy section along the Cook river. Plenty of shade, benches, restrooms, bbq areas and decent parking.

38 degrees on Sunday and they closed down every one was wondering what was going on we had to walk back in the heat and cool him off under the hose I so put a complaint in they rang me and told me that they had to the water I told them that we are not going back there and they could of did it when everyone was at on Monday

Inner West Council needs to co-ordinate playing field maintenance so it doesn't impact adjacent waterplay area. Were the water spouts really sabotaged by a child poking sticks into them?

Very family oriented park with lots of playground equipment and water features to keep the kids engaged. It's also a good place to relax by the river and there is plenty of seating making it a suitable venue for a party. There is also plenty of parking and toilet facilities in the area

Metal Playground Water play Recreation area is really a normal water playground with normal water fountains and sprinklers open up through the warmer a few months. The water play park was made to encapsulate the full total water cycle.

Gorgeous place for young children. It has a lovely water play area, great play equipment with a flying fox and lots of shade. There's parking (for cars and push bikes), BBQs, picnic benches and toilets and located on a beautiful river walk. Definitely one of our faves for a hot day!
