Our second back yard, Love it at this park. It caters for all and although smaller than Centennial is still a very big park and in my opinion, better! It’s an off leash park which is good BUT if you do have smaller more anxious dogs, it’s best to be aware of your surroundings as there are a lot of dogs and took a while for ours to feel comfortable here with the threat of being playfully rolled at every corner. There are also lesser known trails too off the main path if you’re trying to avoid bigger dogs, weekend people or just trying to bypass the hundreds of “Park Run” club members who swarm every available space of pavement on Saturday mornings😂🙄 but apart from that you won’t have trouble here and on a sunny day (or any day for me) this place is 💯

Unique public open space that bares its ecological and hydrological functions out on display. You can enter different levels of immersion in the systems, from sticking to the main paths and open grasslands, exploring little nooks, crossing the water on stepping stones, to walking into wild areas and biofiltration basins on narrow overgrown paths. Dog friendly, playground, community garden, pretty good skate park, tall hills for training and views of the city and eastern suburbs.

This is a really lovely space in a busy area of the city and worth visiting whether you’re after a picnic spot with friends or a quiet stroll. There’s a couple of small hills which give great views over the city scape in the distance and there’s a few wildlife areas and ponds to explore. Everywhere is well kept and tidy and with it’s large size it’s a lovely asset to the area.

Sydney Park has evolved.. it feels smaller now but it's not... It's got lots of paths and places to sit and enjoy time alone or with others. Tye playground has been updated and has had a skate area installed too. The grounds are now more crowded with nooks and curves and places to help feel like your not in the congestion area of Sydney. .. in the middle a lot of effort has gone to the waterfalls and wetlands. Impressive. Something for everyone and great dog walking

Sydney park is simply the best park in the city for walking dogs, plenty of areas when I get him run and chase his ball. I love the view of the City and the airport. The size is fantastic as you can do a lap in half an hour.

A brilliant place to relax with your little ones. Plenty of spaces and a huge playground with multiple slides for the little ones to play. Parents get to enjoy in a little kiosk where they do coffee, juices and some nibbles. All in all, a nice place to chill and relax. Gets crowded on the weekends in the late morning.

Great park for walking, running and dogs. A number of different area and open space, paths and trials to explore. Wetlands, the Alan Davidson oval, playground, circa 1893 historic chimneys and kilns and the sydney park kiosk adjacent to the area designated as volley ball fields in the Center of the park. Highlights for me are the views back to the city, trails through the bush lands stretches and great sun rise and sunsets. Addition of the new skate park has provided a broader range of option in the area. Parking is accessible from each the surrounding roads and streets.

An extensive partially enclosed playground with a diverse range of traditional and adventure play equipment for all children of all ages and abilities. The park also features a children's cycling track and skate park. This large children’s playground will have the grown-ups mesmerised just as much as the kids. The playground includes many different types of equipment that will keep children entertained for hours, as well as several elements that will stimulate their senses of touch, hearing and sight.

A great outdoor park with lots of facilities. Interesting and really well maintained with great views from the top of the hill. Kids can ride their bikes around the cycle centre or skate/scooter in the skate park. Dog friendly as well. Would highly recommend.

Sydney Park is a very nice park, it’s seems very spacious and I liked the stepping stones and walking tracks. It is dog friendly and has a nice playground for kids and a historic brick factory area. There wasn’t many toilets.

Gorgeous park with ample areas to explore with your dog. You’re able to have your dog off leash throughout the whole park and during the afternoons there are plenty of fur friends around. The big hill is perfect for a picnic and city views and there is also a multi purpose oval and skate/cycle area. Also surprised to find that the park is lit at night through some of the main walking areas. We visited after 10pm and found there was no one around but it was still pleasant for a walk.

Great place to walk or run and have provisions for pets too. The park also has Skateboarding area and large green fields. But the park is not well maintained as bushes are out-growing and covering up the tracks. Rest, it is a nice place.

Dog Friendly Park! Off leash nearly the whole park. Cool playground for kids..beautiful hills to walk up and sit. A few water ponds. Friendly walking paths all around the park mostly flat very nicely designed. Friendly crowd atmosphere. Love this park! The cafe in the park can be much better. Needs better high quality coffee and food.

This park is so beautiful I want to come here every day. Amazing park with plenty of grassy areas, a sprawling wetland, urban farm, playgrounds, and dog spaces. Lots of sporting facilities. It’s usually busy on weekends with young families and their dogs. Definitely worth a visit!!!

It's one of the best parks. Family, kids, pets. You can walk around the park with different lengths accordingly. The park has different areas such as children playground, skateboard, grass oval, picnic etc. Only parking is a bit hard to find.

Greatest place to spend with friends and/or family. Even a walk alone through this beautiful example of modern living with native flora and well kept forestry will help you unwind and motivate your senses to whatever you desire. Great for meditation and time outs. The design is amazing and the views change as you move through the stages of the parkland. Great for aspiring athletes and professionals alike.

It’s dog heaven, it’s also kid heaven there are multiple awesome playgrounds, it’s also skating heaven. Good for picnics, cute waterways too. It also has a football field. Pretty much it has everything a park could offer. Great for everyone. There is also disability access with the pathways.

Really beautiful park. Some historical features, a cafe, playgrounds and picnic areas. Great viewing spot of the city. Great for kids and dog friendly. Not super accessible by public transport. Also very few toilets, you’ll most likely be queuing for a while and bring your own toilet paper as they ran out early!

It's Sydney Park, it's pretty good when not overcrowded. The man-made lake, river and mangrove system treats stormwater and gives animals homes. Pretty neat 👌

  • 5/5 Charles C. 3 years ago on Google
We loved the differing parts of the park, with so much to explore. From the wetlands, to the stepping stones and sculptures, to the open grass areas for off lead play for dogs, there was plenty of space and room to move. Such a wonderful use of what was for a time a garbage dump, a real transformation and so close to the heart of Sydney.

🌳 I recently visited Sydney Park, and overall, it's a beautiful and well-maintained place, perfect for spending time outdoors. The park's spaciousness allows for a great experience, and it's undoubtedly pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for me as a pet owner of two bunnies. However, my visit was marred by an unsettling incident involving an off-leash dog. Despite having my rabbits on a leash, they were almost attacked by the irresponsible dog. The owners of the dog showed a lack of consideration for other pets and their safety. This situation highlights the need for stricter enforcement of on-leash policies in the park. I sincerely hope the park management takes this matter seriously and implements measures to ensure the safety of all pets and their owners. Designated on-leash areas should be provided, not only for rabbits and other small pets but also for cats and other animals. This way, everyone can enjoy the park without fear of such incidents. Despite this unfortunate incident, I believe Sydney Park has great potential to be an inclusive and safe place for all pet owners. I encourage the park management to take action and address this issue promptly. With improved pet-friendly policies, Sydney Park can become an even more enjoyable destination for all visitors and their furry companions. 🐇🐕🐈🌿

Amazing spot for a run. Lots to look at, plenty of turns and hills to keep it interesting and a few workout stations. View of the city at sunrise on the hill is great too.

Everywhere it was green no pollute. I love the pond in wet areas and also a little fountain which the dogs love to swim in. The signature here is the skate park that allowed me to watch a lot of talent skater shows.

A pleasant park that has good tracks for runners, playgrounds and skate parks for kids of all ages, and play areas for dogs. Views are nice on a good day. The park isn’t particularly large.

  • 5/5 Mark C. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice place to have your kids consume their energies. Lots of different sites to explore. Kids playground, the pond, bush walk and much more for u to explore. Parking your car might be a challenge. You might need to come early around 10am to secure spot close to the park's entrance.

Love walking Sydney Park - either a slow walk with a friend for a coffee or a nice scenic brisk walk! My daughter and I love the playground and there are always cute dogs to pat and the coffee is great also. So clean and tidy and well looked after.

(Translated by Google) Well-maintained park near downtown Newtown When you go up the hill, you can see the city view and meet many dogs out for a walk. Free parking is available for 4 hours, toilets are everywhere, and there are spacious stairways and picnic airy. Black birds, swans, and ducks live in small ponds where water flows, and birds can be fed. So beautiful place (Original)

Great park, definitely the nicest in the area, plenty of interesting parts to it and terrain. Generally has a very welcoming and happy vibe, and so many doggos living their best life! Lots of water bubblers, the city farm (bit overgrown but still nice), hills, native plants, water features and wildlife. A nice urban oasis, although it can get pretty busy.

Although I live quite close to Sydney Park I didn’t discover it till recently. There are several entrances to the park but if you have time and like to walk, you can cover the entire park in half a day. Lots to see here including little waterfalls, the famous brick towers, water reservoir amongst other things. Most places in the park is dog friendly which is great. Although it’s so close to the city, there are places in the park where you stop hearing noises of cars and instead hear crickets! There’s a small cafe that serves coffee, food, ice cream inside the park

  • 5/5 C R. 3 years ago on Google
Wonderful park with fabulous playground and Cafe. There needs to be a sign up on the turf next to the slides that it is extremely slippery and dangerous when wet. I saw countless adults and kids falling both up and down, one dad falling on his daughters leg. SOOOOO dangerous.

I love Sydney Park. It is great for kids, dogs & all people. The park has been transformed over the years and now has beautiful paths and ponds. It is in St Peters and is an easy walk from the train station.

  • 5/5 Clinton H. 4 years ago on Google
Sydney Park, like hundreds of parks across the country, was formerly a major landfill site. It was also formerly used as a brick making site. They manage the park and regularly monitor landfill gas levels. This is normal practice in managing historical landfill sites nationally and overseas. Recent testing has shown elevated concentrations of methane and carbon dioxide at the park's perimeter. There are no identified health risks. It is great to visit this wonderful park every year.

Hard to believe this was a dumpster in a past life. Absolutely gorgeous spot, perfect for 5-7km loops. The park itself in one loop might be about 2-3km / 6000 steps. Dog friendly, with a cafe and bathrooms (but you know...) Two parkings in Princes Hwy ( works if you’re coming from Newtown), or Sydney park road.

The park itself is beautiful however the playground isn't fenced off with poor line of sight making keeping an eye on little ones hard and despite signs no dogs allowed in the playground area, there were still off leash dogs there. It's a great park for dog owners and I get that.. but if having to actively avoid tripping over four legged friends isn't your idea of a relaxing day out in the park I would find elsewhere to go.
