Great coffee, delicious food, and friendly staff in a cute and cozy setting. Whether you eat-in or grab takeout, you won't be disappointed. Particularly love grabbing one of the many different pastries for a light morning snack along with my brew.

I ordered the labneh bowl for $18.50 thinking it should be a pretty big meal. It wasn’t. The food was nice but 70% of the whole meal was some kind of yoghurt… the description of the labneh bowl didn’t even mention any yoghurt… why so much yoghurt?? Still very hungry after eating this meal and now I need to go order more food…. 🤦‍♂️ Edit - ok thanks for that information. It still doesn’t explain why there’s so much yoghurt. What is the $18.50 for? Let’s break it down shall we? 70% of the meal is yoghurt. 4 half slices of tomato. 6 small pieces of eggplant. 1 pita bread. 2 falafel. $18.50. Still not making sense is it?

It was our first time at Shenkin and we loved everything about it. Service was fast and attentive, food and coffee were both delicious. We will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family!

UpDATED, 5 stars form my initial review is too many. Excellent service. Had shakshuka ( without beans, which is the traditional way - I prefer beans but never mind), Encore Rd is not a healthy spot to sit but traffic is light at 11 am. SO, this is Not my favourite recipe. Its mostly tomato with 2 eggs on top. I last had shakshuka in Robina, near the Gold Coast: spicy tomato base with legumes, a bit of ckorizo, some herbs/spices same as here Id say, with poached eggs sitting on top and still slightly runny and sprinkled with feta. But if just tomato, capsicum herbs/ spices is your preference then you should like this. I should repeat, I'm just stating my preference. And, again, great customer service. Price is pretty much the same. Would I return for shakshuka? Sorry, but no.

I recently visited Cafe Shenkin in Enmore and was blown away by the delicious muesli bowl I had there. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented, and the combination of flavors was simply divine. The service was top-notch as well, with the staff being friendly and attentive. But what really set Cafe Shenkin apart for me was the atmosphere. The cafe has a warm and welcoming vibe, and it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast or lunch. Whether you're in the mood for a quick caffeine fix or a more leisurely meal, Cafe Shenkin has something for everyone. Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Shenkin for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Enmore. The food is amazing, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is unbeatable. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

One of my faves. I recently tried the Angelita and it was delicious! I often can't go past the hummus plate or shakshuka though. Great coffee, friendly staff, top spot!

A friend who is a local took myself and my partner to Shenkin for breakfast on a Thursday morning. We sat out the back which was lovely and quiet so good for a chat/catch up. Customer service was very friendly and attentive, good coffee and nice decor but it was the food that was really impressive. The shakshuka and Angelita were both delicious and a good size. Really great to see interesting menu items and vegetarian friendly food. Would definitely return.

Cozy cafe in the heart of Newtown. I love how the staff talked to me and asked if was my first time and gave me a warm welcome. I was after their famous shakshuka which was worth it! The coffee tastes great and the latte art is a work of art. From the start of their customer service to the finish-they made me feel at home. I definitely will come back to this place. Keep it up! :)

Good cafe serving good food with friendly staff. We really enjoyed breakfast and coffee at the Shenkin in Enmore today. The Angelita was delicious. We also got eggs on toast with chorizo. The toast was well toasted and the chorizo were yummy. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard because it’s a bit quieter. It started to sprinkle shortly after we got our food, the staff were happy to help us move to another table under shelter when we raised it. They are very busy but tables turn around quickly so it’s worth a try if you’re in the area.

We went the Shenkin for brekkie on our last day in Sydney - and had one of the best breakfasts ever! The food and choice for vegetarians is great, service with a smile and the owner, Yaar, is so knowledgeable about food and and helpful generally - he sent us off with a list of eating places to visit in Israel when we said we wanted to try more of the Middle East cuisine and would like to visit this part of the world. Highly recommended!

The warm vibe once here has gone. No sitting inside and only 3 small tables outside. I saw customers coming, looking at the lack of seating and me eating my breakfast from takeaway containers and just walking away. I wish I’d seen or known it was like that and I would have walked away also

Used to love dining here regularly but it’s gone massively downhill and won’t return again. Today it wasn’t very busy when we arrived and our orders were taken within 5-10 minutes of sitting down. 40+ minutes later the waitress came back to advise that one of our meals was now out of stock.. she avoided answering if they had even started making our meals.. another 15 minutes wait later, the substitute meal was gross. The menus has reduced, the sides sauces/dips that were the draw card are gone and the wait times are ridiculous. Overpriced also ($100 brunch for 3 people). So many other better cafes in Enmore/Newtown.

Very good food with lots of great tasting vegetarian options, staff and management seem very nice. Outdoor seating available in rear courtyard as well as it front, great for an Enmore Rd venue!

Soy FW - milk far too hot especially for soy, coffee bitter and burnt. I thought about asking for a remake but it wouldn't be worth waiting for just to be mildly better. I am so happy to pay for good coffee, but why does bad coffee cost the same amount?

Great food when they don’t make mistakes. Today I received eggs Benedict with no eggs. Luckily my partners came with eggs and he kindly shared with me.

Didn’t have to wait too long for a table. There was a group of us. They did screw up the coffees which was a little annoying but we got there in the end. Food was great. Nothing stood out however for something which is supposed to be a “Israeli” concept. It’s was just the normal breakfast basics with a “middle eastern” flare or two.. But it was “fresh” and quick which was good to see. I would come back. It’s a good local and good spot to be local with a cute outdoor area in the back.

Lovely place, great atmosphere. I keep going back to this place not only because I live close by but also because I really like this place. Firstly, the coffee is amazing. The chai is good but nothing special - I think they use a syrup. So rather go for the coffee, it’s delicious. The food ticks multiple boxes: looks great, is tasty and has something special about it. Never had pancakes like these before! Staff is incredibly friendly, the music is lovely, and furniture and interior are stylish. Can’t ask for more!

Absolutely shocking service. Took over half hour to get our food and coffees. The second order of coffee was lost in the ether and we had to ask 3 times until we got it. The menu has changed and no where near as tasty as what it was a year ago. The premises didn’t seem clean and the way the waitress mopped up a spill before we arrive was so sloppy. Totally a waste of money tbh. I wish we had gone with our initial instincts and left upon arrival. It actually deserves no stars.

Fantastic spot for brunch with an Israeli twist. Everything was delicious. Of note were the filo pastry rolls with various dips. We will definitely be back!

Good quality coffee! A must try if in the Enmore/Newtown area. They only have outdoor dining at the moment due to Covid. If you are looking to dine in, be wary that there is only 3 small tables available.

Basically a disaster. First of all the guy who said he was going to find me a table just went back to make coffees without doing it. Sit down and order, 35 mins for my food, another 5 for my wife’s so we ate separately. Plus they bought her the wrong meal. It’s going to be a while until I’m brave enough to try eating here again they are just so disorganised.

Food was amazing and unique! Loved the Sabih. I could eat it all day, every day!! The pita bread that came with the Shakshuka was so soft, floury and delicate! Amazing!
