👍 I came for goose deliberately, not disappointed but not surprised. Goose noodle with bamboo shoots is a plus. The goose meat is a bit lean and taste good. Fried Wonton is surprisingly good. People often mention rice, chicken, noodles, rolls, goose, good, Vietnamese, pork, friendly, delicious,

Fresh and delicious Vietnamese food. Quick service. Generous portions. The half and half banh cuon is the best I’ve had - super fresh steamed rice rolls with delicious dipping sauce. Beef Pho and Stuffed chicken wing tasty as well. Complimentary tea

It’s so good. The stuffed chicken wings are 10/10! Also the beef pho broth really good. The beef rice paper rolls. And of course the prawn rolls which they are famous for, they come with this little sauce with mini meatballs which I had not seen before but it was fab. It’s my current local and I have gone once a week since I discovered it. Definitely one of the best spots in the inner west.

Staff were friendly but the food was mediocre, I ordered the rare beef and brisket and the steamed rice rolls with mince chicken and prawns. Which the waiter recommend I try, then got pushy with my hesitation to order it, saying "how will you know you don't like if you don't try" in a passive agressive tone. In the steamed rice rolls dish, I have never seen prawns cut up into such tiny pieces before, I had to look really hard just to find 2 specks of prawn. The mince chicken was also cut up into such tiny, sparse pieces that all I could taste were the rice rolls. Although, the sauce that came with the rolls and little chicken balls were quite nice. The pho was atrocious, the soup was served lukewarm with little flavour, tiny, tiny clumps of rare beef and majority of the brisket pieces where only the fat cuttings. I had high hopes for this place but I honestly don't know why the ratings for this restaurant are so high. The goose dish I initially wanted to order seems to have good reviews, maybe I will have to go and try out this restaurant out again.

As their name suggests, Viet Rolls specialises in banh cuon. We ordered the #3 half & half banh cuon ($16) (half plain + half minced chicken, prawn and wood ear fungus) - really smooth rice noodles and they come with 4 meatballs (made of the same chicken and wood ear fungus) in a lightly sweet broth that tastes like diluted nuoc cham (like for bun cha). Generous portions too. We also had the #13 stuffed chicken wings ($12), which came highly recommended. They were golden, crispy and plump - stuffed with mince, wood ear and glass noodles, so like a Vietnamese spring roll but with the added deliciousness of crispy chicken skin. This was the highlight of the meal for me. The #59 steamed marinated pork leg ($20) reminded me of Korean jokbal (braised pork hock) in both the presentation and condiments. It was served with different herbs for wrapping, as well as shrimp paste (mam tom) for dipping, which is also very similar to one of the dipping sauces for jokbal. The flavour of the pork itself is very light, just a little smoky but without much seasoning. I did find the slices (particularly the skin) were a bit dry and chewy, not as tender as I would've liked. This dish also came with vermicelli noodles.

Small family owned restaurant in the heart of Marrickville. I ordered two of their signature dishes- beef pho and mixed steam rice rolls. Both portions were generous and good value for money. They tasted good and a bit better than some other Viet places on Illawarra Rd/Marrickville Rd. Cards payments accepted with 1% surcharges.

Classics like Banh Cuon done well. As a non-Viet eater I can’t really tell much difference between these guys and the main one on Illawarra rd. Maybe the sauce. Lots of interesting menu items, pork based which gets pretty gamey and wild but very tasty. Hands down most underrated Vietnamese joint in Marrickville. Can’t wait to go back and get the goose. 🙏🏼 Warm and real service too. Thanks!

Pho-nomenal. Great pho, delicious rice rolls with amazing sauce. The rice noodles were fresh and the broth had just the right amount of flavour. The service was super friendly!!!!!!

The shop is not big but very neat and the atmosphere is so good! Have been here 3 times (I don’t living in this area). Every time I visited them, the staff and shop owner were very friendly and the food was very tasty! Love their goose!!!

✨TLDR: One of my go to Marrickville favs - very comforting & love everything we order!! 💗 Staff is super friendly, place is cozy and clean too 🫶 Food ordered: • Minced meat & prawn rice rolls ($16) ⭐️ - the skin is thin (which is why i like this more than ba oanh), portion is not as big but it's good enough for me. Super tasty! 💗💗 • Glass noodle soup + Free range goose ($18) ⭐️ - you can pick between glass/vermicelli/rice noodles and goose/chicken. Love clear soup. • Spring rolls - combination ($10) ⭐️ - crispy & tasty, all i need! I personally prefer this over banh cuon bo oanh, another + point is that it opens til late everyday 😮‍💨 Have visited more than 5 times at this point!!

The food is not terrible, but its not great either. We had the crab noodles. There wasn't much crab, and the little crab that was in the bowl was in a weird fluffy thing. The noodles were a brown wholemeal kind of noodle. While interesting, they were all stuck together, and didn't really go with the dish. The soup is a bit plain and lacked the richness and depth of flavour as some of the other Vietnamese restaurants nearby. The pork in leaves was tasty though, and there was lots of vegetables. We also had the goose with noodles. I appreciated having this on the menu as goose isn't widely available. However, I found it a bit tough, and probably not the best way to cook goose. (For comparison, I've had goose in Hong Kong restaurants, and it can be a lovely decadent meat when prepared well).

Oh wow, this place is so authentic and delicious. We came as a group of three and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service was friendly. As someone who knows Vietnamese food very well, this is as good as it gets. Must try the glass noodle soup with chicken/goose. Hands down the best broth I have tried. We also loved the banh cuon (rice rolls) and stir fried rice noodles. The ambience could be better but to be honest, we did not care. The food was fantastic and the waiter was friendly. It was also very reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back!

The soup seems to have too much MSG, because I just cannot stop drinking water during my lunch and even after this. The pork chop was very dry and hard to chew, and the noodles are very salty. The stuffed chicken wings sounds very creative but tasted quite odd. The environment is not very clean, with flies flying around, staff are very friendly though.

One of the best banh cuons in Sydney. Their sauce is different to most, bit more savoury and less fish sauce dominant. If you like banh cuon this is a must try.

Cute little joint in marrickville with a lovely spin on traditional Vietnamese dishes :-) Had the crab meat noodle soup (the rice noodles were brown rice noodles) and it was absolutely delicious! Generous portion sizes and the owner was very friendly 🥰 Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Great classic vietnamese restaurant, crispy chicken tomato rice is nice 👌. Bahn cuon here is also very nice. Portion is generous and service is always friendly.

The rice roll here is quite delicious , quick service with only 15’ the food came out . We also ordered marinated pork leg (rựa mận nướng ) , it was tasty , although we do prefer if the food was hotter . Good location , easy to find parking .

The value for money shines here as the servings r quite generous. Taste was the banh cuon which I believe is what they r popular for is quite good. The pho was soso. Pretty avg soup flavor, but quite generous in portion size. The service is ok, but there's only one poor guy running around doing everything, so is a bit slow. Maybe they need another person during weekends and busy periods. Seating could feel as but cramped which is the usual for Vietnamese restaurants.

Sensational pho! I particularly liked the noodles which were dense, thick and chewy than the ordinary flat, silky ones. Broth is clear and flavourful. My only gripe was that the meat wasn’t served as rare as I like.
