Very friendly customer service, the food was decent so we gave 2 star but what put us off was the price. 10 dishes in yumcha for $113, it’s not like we have ordered seafood or lobster. It’s very overpriced and the bill doesn’t make sense at all. If you’re planning to visit this place for yumcha, make sure checking the price first and before paying. I think with this price better go elsewhere.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars because the service was probably the best out of all yum cha places I've been to. Everyone was very polite, food was distributed quickly, staff was attentive. Food was pretty good too, we got chicken feet, garlic chives and prawn dumplings and prawn rice noodles. Dumplings had nice skin, thin and not mooshy.

Lovely customer service from the team who were serving the food! Unfortunately the restaurant was slightly understaffed so sometimes when we asked for something such as soy sauce with chilli, we were forgotten! Tea does cost you $2 per head! Other than that, would visit again, the dishes were authentic and delicious and the food came out hot and immediately! Really loved the flavour of the tea as well!

A hidden gem in Marrickville! Great Yum Cha place and very good value. Can sometimes be hard to get the choices you want (as so busy) and ordering special items can take a while.

A decent yum cha, kudos on the chicken feet. I feel like they suffer from lack of customers on Saturday at 10am resulting in less food being prepared constantly so there's a bit of luck as to whether the food is hot or just warm. The rice noodle rolls with prawn really suffers from this when it's drying out. Simple service, no frills but not rude. I think you want to get them when they're busy so everything would stay fresh and hot if you can manage it.

Service was quick, food was tasty. Even though the restaurant was busy, we didn't wait long for a table. They brought out the yum cha trolleys. Haven't seen these for a while since covid hit and other yum cha places started introducing ordering from a menu. They stopped at our table asking if we wanted dumplings, and offered special orders made from the kitchens, such as fried lobster.

Would NOT take a group here. Food was decent enough, however, the service was non-existent. It seemed as though just about any beverage you wanted was not available or "this is last one", and that was if you could even order a drink (over half of our group did not have a chance). The final plate of food did not come out until over an hour after placing our order, thankfully we did not wait and ended up sharing our meals. Very well could have been a great experience for 1-2 people, but will not return given the experience I was met with.

A very well-known restaurant since 1991. Went there last week for dim sum with my family, we loved all them. Very polite and friendly staff, decent food size and price. Will definitely come back for more food. Recommended!

04/12/2021 - Dine in Yum Cha selection here is great with some really good dishes. Although we didn't enjoy the beef rice wrap. Service is a hit and miss here. Overall it's good yum cha.

First time visit on weekday morning as recommended by my friend. Very classic Cantonese dim sum restaurant with quite an exceptional choice of dim sum and dishes. We ordered prawn dumplings, deep fried sweet bums plus others. All tasted above average and the price is fair and reasonable, in view of the recent inflation in Sydney. Highly recommended when you just want a simple sip of hot jasmine tea and Canton dim sum.

had a fair amount of dimsum all my life back home in malaysia and singapore so i came here with zero expectations. i must say i was incredibly impressed and satisfied with pretty much everything we ordered especially the siew mai, garlic chicken with chives dumplings and king prawn dumplings as well as the black sesame balls! these are my must-order if i had to recommend any. we got there early around 10:30am on a sunday morning and the crowd was fine until lunch so we didn’t have to wait that long for a table despite being a big group of 7. i like that the place serves dimsum the traditional way in pushing carts but service can definitely do better. updates on second visit: i was so excited to have my partner who was visiting at the time to try this place out but we ended up leaving the place with utter disappointment and anger. may seem trivial to some but a $2 extra charge was imposed all because we didn’t consume any tea or drinks??? we questioned the staff as soon as we realised from the receipt and the staff responded in a way that made us feel at fault for NOT having a drink? keep in mind that we weren’t even told in the first place that there will be extra charges for not drinking. we thought this was super dishonest and a complete nonsense so BE CAREFUL if you don’t intend to have a drink there while you dine.

We went at about 7:30pm on a Monday, for dinner (no drinks). We ordered the Lemon Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Steamed Prawn Dumplings, and Fried Rice (a very standard white people order - lol). Our bill was about $75 - and this was a generous meal for two. A party of three could have comfortably had the same amount of food. We put it away regardless! We were met by a very polite and courteous member of the wait staff who seated us immediately and provided tea for the table (the tea was delicious). The service was quick, efficient, polite, and attentive without being overbearing. Our food came promptly - it was fresh, hot, and SO tasty. I think some attention to the ambiance could make it cosier (there was no music and the lighting is a bit harsh) but I didn't mind this at all in the context. That may have been highlighted by the fact that it was not particularly busy at the time we dined. Overall we had a fabulous time and I recommend Hung Cheung! The staff are lovely and clearly have great rapport with each other. Everyone in the staff team looked happy to be there, which was my favourite feature. Happy staff make me happy.

Something is good. Something is not. Nice tea here. To me, dont eat the stuffs inside stomach of beef, pork. 😂😂.

Heaps better than a 3.9. I had thought this place was yum cha only…it is a lot better than that. The menu is extensive and all of the Chinese favourites. I went for the satay chicken, huge amounts of delicious chicken and a lovely subtle kick to the sauce. Definitely recommend going.

Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday afternoon, not sure if that is why there’s not much variety of yum cha dishes available. Overall the food and atmosphere is good.

Food was cooked with authentic Cantonese styles. Taste is standard but a little bit salty.

I asked for no bean sprouts in my fried rice, the gentleman said no sprouts in Chinese fried rice. Of course the whole thing was full of bean sprouts. When you charge 48.00 for fried rice and garlic beef. You need to get that right

Stumbled across this little yum cha gem and I think it's my new favourite spot! Plenty of delicious dumplings available, and such a good price compared to locations in the city and Eastwood. Loved the ambiance and appreciated the kind staff who looked after us. The large glass windows looking out to the street are a nice view to relax to while drinking tea and eating dumplings. Will be back very soon!

Wonderful location, service was fabulous. Regretfully the prices are way over the top for what is sugary Aussie Chinese from the 80s ($24 honey chicken for example). You’re better off eating at the countless Vietnamese restaurants 150m away for half the cost and twice the authenticity.

Look, it isn't bad but it is pretty middle of the road Chinese designed predominately for Western palates. Don't expect to be surprised. Pleasant service and good for big parties looking for something like this. BYO available which is a plus and the value is decent.

Worst meal ever. Crispy chicken which was anything but and cold. Sizzling beef which tasted ok but had doubts whether was in fact beef. Best and only thing I enjoyed was beer but even that left me wondering whether was brewed in the back 🤮

Has become our favourite yim cha place. Not the most variety, but what they offer is really tasty. And the bill at the end of the meal is always a lot less than other restaurants that we regularly dine at. Highly recommended.
