Lovely community cafe with friendly staff. It's a dog friendly place so you'll love it if you like your dogs. Decent hot chocolate while the food is amazing. I recommend trying out their the Serrano if you like premium meats. Reasonable eait times and decently priced for the area. There is a toilet on site and plenty of parking surrounding the cafe.

Great VEGETARIAN options. Big portion and delicious food. The veg burger was a triumph of flavours, each bite was a joy, and perfectly cooked side potatoes. The mushrooms toast had a great, intense, roasted garlic flavour, and the mushrooms texture was so meaty. The omelette was packed with freshness and the butter provided for the bread was an absolute treat: delicious. The coffee is also excellent quality. last but not least, beautiful custom service. Definitely recommend.

I love everything here! My partner introduced me to Christine and her lovely cafe when I first moved to Australia. I have to say this is the best cafe in Sydney. Christine is a lovely business owner with charm, amazing customer service, and amazing food, coffe and deserts. I highly recommend coming here!

We were a group of seven on a Sunday morning without a reservation and still they were able to give us a great service. Only 15 minutes of waiting was enough to put couple tables together, coffees were on the table not long after. They also were able to send all of the different dishes at the same time, which is pretty impressive for a kitchen and speaks volumes. Food was also five stars

A wonderful cafe with delicious brunch foods! Love the outdoor seating and the friendly staff who served us. Was blazing hot in the sun and (without us asking) moved us to a shaded area instead. The food was top notch and the coffee was delicious. Pictured is the Shakshuka and Brisket Hash which we devoured.

Loved the prawn tacos & the coffee here. This is a staple in Marrickville and can never go wrong for breakfast/ brunch food. Situated within a residential street, this corner style cafe is very picturesque and a quaint spot to stop by and a meal that’s always made with flavour in mind. Outdoor seating is also available if you would like to bring your fluffy friends!

My partner and I have made this our new go to Cafe. Great and friendly staff. The kitchen and coffee has always been on point. They are also dog friendly outside and it is very common for us and others to frequent. Great place to hang out in the morning shade and have a coffee. I highly recommend the brisket skillet!!!!!!!!

I went there once and became a regular - of the daily kind... I live a 10 minute walk away & walk past 6 cafes to get there (well I am in Marrickville & spoiled for choice) It's a unique vibe, nails really good coffee - food on point - genuinely friendly staff - and the staff smile all the time cos the owners treat everyone nicely - there is a kindness here that you will sense - it emanates. * Doggie chain up posts outside with water bowls * seats in the sun outside - to have your dog with you * consistently CLEAN bathroom - (such a rare thing in Sydney but here - it's always clean) large space and has a lamp for soft light and its own music playing * excellent professional Barista and fabulous coffee bean quality * GF baked goods * fresh juices * Vegan & GF catered for really well on the menu * excellent place for kids - has plenty of toys & games & you can see the owners genuinely delight in the kids and pets that visit * Nothing is ever too much trouble * You hear locals being greeted by name all the time and so many people seem to bring in others from outside the area and literally want to introduce their family and friends to the cafe owners - such is the warmth and connection here - see what I mean? I ordered the Mushroom Toastie and it was so good that I forgot to take a photo before taking a bite. The vibes were great, it got a bit noisy after a while but that’s to be expected for a Marrickville cafe at brunch time. Friendly service, didn’t rush us out after we were done eating which is always appreciated.

Coffee in a pandemic

I found this cafe to be noisy, cramped inside and to have poor quality coffee. My shakshuka was far too spicy and ruined my meal. The coffee also took 20 mins and arrived after my food.

There is really something with their avo toast that makes it superbly good! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with smiles and warm welcome. Coffee is awesome too! I would definitely come back and try more of their food.

Great service and atmosphere! Coffees were decent and the Food was good but today was mixed. Their regular cauliflower was very good, but the special of day: burramundi had an overly sweet sauce and over cooked broccolini

Another long standing Marrickville Cafe. Coffee is always a guaranteed great cup. Whether you are looking for a delicious brunch, lunch or just a quick take away coffee on your way to the dog park you are bound to win with a stop in at Illi Hill. Very dog friendly with fresh water set up outside and even chains set up for clipping your leash onto whilst ducking inside to order. Staff always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. I house baked goods are always a treat and the menue is always fresh and the food at a high standard. These factors are definitely the reason it is likely a staple of Marrickville. Get in early on Saturday and Sundays to avoid the rush as tables fill up fast

A fabulous Cafe which is a very short walk from the Marrickville markets. I had The Serrano and the Jamón Serrano, pecorino, watercress, walnuts, poached egg on sourdough drizzled with truffle oil was wonderful. The smell of the truffle oil was amazing as soon as it was delivered to the table. Give it a go I'd say!

Had Lunch there, great atmosphere, friendly , quick and attentive service. Good selection of food on the menu and good selection of cakes All the food was very tasty, would highly recommend trying this place.

Great cafe with very friendly and professional staff. I noticed with pleasure they were making sure that the tables were always clean and that the orders were on time. I had a cappuccino with almond milk and the famous cheesecake. All super delicious. I can just recommend it and will go back for sure :)

Brunch at Illi Hill was gorgeous. The lamb salad was simply a delight to eat to the very last nibble. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the coffee was good. Can't fault it. Bloody nice.

Lovely food and service! Really rate this retro style Illawarra Rd cafe. The meatball soup comes with a very generous portion of six medium meatballs and the barramundi was cooked to perfection with super crispy skin.

The superior cafè in a locality with stiff competition! Just moved out of the area and have yet to find a satisfactory rebound cafè. Top drawer, high calibre, pick of the litter! Missing you, heart and soul, yours forever, 5 stars!
