Here is to another five star review for this restaurant! It is well deserved! You get amazing service, amazing prices, and an amazing selection. Not much more you could ask for! The pastry I got was so good I ordered another for takeaway just so my partner could have one at home too. Scrumptious.

Truffle risotto was to die for!!! We got the pollo pesto with gnocchi which was great too. Gnocchi wasnt melt in the mouth but was alright. Good service and reasonably priced. Thank you

Nice decoration and foods! I've ordered a Spaghetti Crab & Prawns, and it was extremely delicious with large prawns and tasty crab sauce! Super recommend this one!

Maltese pasta for Dinner pasta al Vongole this pasta was so delicious I want to be back for more already just so perfect. The pasta was cooked to prefect el Dante and the sauce was just right flavour of garlic and olive oil with fresh vongole. Love this place I will definitely recommend checking it out.

This is the place to enjoy a nice crispy pastry with sweet unsavoury contents, it is called Pastizzi, and the chocolate ricotta tastes good. The table setup is complete with parmesan cheese, chilli flakes and the usual salt & pepper. Water is served fresh in a bottle. There is also an outdoor dining area which is quieter and cooler in the summer evening. The highlight dish I like is the four-cheese Gnocchi, taste so good and creamy πŸ‘. Electronic card transactions will incur an additional surcharge. Toilet is available on site.

Pronto service and classic Italian food. House wine by the glass was very good. The buffalo mozzarella salad had a huge ball of soft mozzarella. Everything was tasty and warming.

I ordered Penne with Salmon, and there were only three small pieces of salmon in my dish. You can see one of the pieces in the photo. The Penne with Pollo Pesto was just okay. The service was not good. The staff didn't pay attention to the customers; they even seemed to avoid making eye contact because they were worried you might ask them something.

Delicious food using fresh ingredients. Ordered chicken ravioli with pink sauce (main size). Huge portion. Garlic bread super tasty. Needed a doggy bag for both. If you order a coke make sure you ask for the can as I got a glass full of ice and flat coke from a big 1.25L bottle.

Pastizzi contains an amazing Italian eatery vibe centrally located in Newtown their menu owns some of the unique Italian classics . We ate several items but their spaghetti bolognese wasn’t up-to expectation lacking the kick of herbs and was too runny. Their Ravioli was the star dish, amazingly stuffed and served with my favorite arrabbiata. Would definitely suggest ones craving for Italian.

Enjoyed a savory chicken pastizi and also a berry custard for dessert. Nice buttery flavourful pastry with pleasant service, dining space and located in newton's busy street King St.

Very fresh savoury and sweet pastries. The flavours have a good range of variety. Chilli can Caine and the chocolate ricotta are nice. Although the pastry could be more airy. We tried the marinara, creamy mushroom and basil pesto chicken pasta. The creamy pastas are too heavy and not enough savoury taste. The marinara has well balanced taste and texture. Will come back for the dessert cake! Update Jun: the berries custard pastizzi has very creamy texture. The apple rhubarb cake is so buttery and crumbly, nice taste and texture. Highly recommended the Dark Ale beef pastizzi, great pastry texture with hot and tender filling.

A staple of Newtown, Pastizzi Cafe was always a favourite. Whether it's the pastizzis that gave the cafe its name or the delicious meals it serves up, it's a great place to purge the hunger pains and put a smile on your face. This time it was the eggplant parmigiana and spaghetti with meatballs that made our night complete.

Lovely food and friendly service, always consistent. Ravioli is great. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana as main and it was beautiful, only downside is that the portion was small & the salad took up most of the plate.

Enjoyed the patizzi, ravioli and beef cheek that we had today. The Kinne was something different - never tried it before. Service was quick and efficient. Price was reasonable. Table was available when we walked in.

Famous Maltese & Italian restaurant that has long sold frozen pastizzi pastries across Sydney. The restaurant inside is clean and comfortable. Pastries savoury and sweet are tasty and the pasta is good. Indoor tables or outdoor seating for people watching in an area with many characters.

Been here a couple of times and the food seems to hit the spot every-time. Portions are great and price is reasonable. The sauce with the Pastizzi is a must. It gets busy on a weekend, so book if you plan on going on a Saturday night.

We had a recent Sunday lunch at this popular cafe in Newtown and ordered a few of their famous pastizzi pastries and two main dishes i.e. the prawn & crab ravioli with vongole sauce and the 4-cheeses gnocchi. We love the pastries, especially the one with chunky, saucy beef and the one with cheese fillings. The main dishes were just average, while the clam / vongole sauce was very salty. The customer services from staff members are reasonable for a cafe in Newtown. Cafe ambience is average since it is opened style not enclosed, so expect heat in summer time. Prices on the menu are relatively premium and expected for such area like Newtown. You can pay with V / MC credit cards and pay additional 1.65% surcharge which is quite high compared to usual rate of up to 1.5%.

This large and bustling restaurant has welcoming staff and a large menu. Delighted with helpfulness and kindness of the staff. The polenta fries blew my mind. Will definitely be back.

Good for a quick dinner - pricey for what is actually on offer, very basic tasting pasta (I literally make the exact same at home for a quarter of the price). Service was slow considering we were the only ones there. Other than that, you can’t really go wrong with a standard pasta, it was still tasty, so I’d def give it a go, It just wasn’t anything to talk about.

Pasta was good but the service could be better. We have no water from sitting to end and it is really a long waiting time to order. Not bad and worth a try.

Very friendly staff. Massive servings. Food was understated which is okay because there was salt and cheese readily available on the table. 4 cheese gnocchi was a bit too overdone and the pool of sauce in the dish looked so white it was a little unappetising, though it did have a good smooth texture. Fettuccini was cooked well. Overall, food was okay but not very flavourful.

No longer do you need to travel to Naples to get some good Vongole.... You can get it here at Pastizzi Cafe, Newtown! Sooo good, perfectly cooked and flavour is on point. Can't wait to return now 🀀🀀

Amazing service, generous portions and you have to try the pastizzis

  • 5/5 Chloe T. 9 months ago on Google
Restaurant owner was very friendly! Gave us some recommendations so we got to try the rabbit stew and ravioli, and he was so kind to let us try some pastizzis too! Portions were bigggg - the rabbit stew was so soft, the meat fell off the bones literally. I was surprised, since the last time we had rabbit meat, it was absolutely dry in Spain. But this had some wine taste as well, as it turned out to be marinated in wine overnight. Price was decent too, $54 in total for our meal with no drinks. We are looking forward to coming back and trying the other pastas :) thank you to the friendly owner and staff!

Excellent Maltese / Italian restaurant. They have amazing coffee, fresh food with locally sourced produce, attentive and friendly staff, and the atmosphere is always buzzing! Lines for miles are testament to how fantastic this place is. Always warm, welcoming and hospitable, genuine service... Keep up the great work team! Ps. The carrot cake is to die for...πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Glorious Mediterranean foot at reasonable prices! One minor comment: they don't bring all the food together. My companions finished their food before I was served mine.

I went there with my sister in the middle of the day and we both like the restaurant. People there were friendly. We got the Penne Della Nonna. It was tasty; especially the garlic and the roasted capsicum. Also, we got the spinach and ricotta ravioli with pink sauce, I strongly recommend you try it. Finally, we got two different cups of coffee β€œlong black and latte” and they use a dark roast beans and the latte was perfect πŸ‘ŒπŸ».

πŸ‘ Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
