I came here for a birthday dinner tonight and this restaurant was lovely. The staff were very friendly, alway filling our glasses with water. The whole restaurant gives you warm vibes. The pasta dishes was a highlight for me, it was just so tasty! I loved it! Will come back. The “old” Italian man/waiter was very hospitable.

This is a review of the Valentine's Day set menu (2022). Reading the reviews of the restaurant, I was expecting a lot from Osteria di Russo & Russo. Unfortunately, the Valentine's Day menu did not deliver. While the food wasn't bad, for $85pp (plus drinks) I was expecting much more than what was delivered. The majority of the set menu seemed to lack quality and finesse - and seemed to rely more on the fancy nomenclature of dishes, rather than actually deliver something impressive. By no means a complete disaster, but definitely not worth the money. Service was good and the cocktails were quite nice.

I hosted a function there last night. Private dining upstairs. The team was so so lovely and the food was superb. So many compliments from the guests who will be coming back. There was no shortage of food and the Marc made some excellent wine recommendations for the meals. Thank you Marc, Pino and the team for a memorable night.

My only complaint is that this is not how I dine everyday! The staff were fantastic!!! So fun, so friendly, so informative, so lovely to have around! The food was exceptionally exceptional. Refreshing! Tasty isn’t enough of a word. The attention to detail in every element from the bread (that I wanted more and more of) to the business card left at the end. You know when the attention to detail is that good that the food will be great… but as I said exceptionally expectional!!! Thank you! Thank you so much! Memorable and a half!

We had a marvellous pre-theatre dinner! We only had a short amount of time but the staff and kitchen worked thoughtfully and seamlessly to deliver us a wonderful dining experience despite the time constraint. The service was attentive and thoughtful, the food was absolutely superb, and the wine list and decor were outstanding. We look forward to returning for a more leisurely experience next time!

The food here is on another level. Atmosphere is warm and intimate. Staff are so friendly and knowledge about all the dishes. Such an authentic Italian experience in the middle of Sydney. Would 100% recommend.

Wow, just wow! The experience went far beyond the food. The service literally makes this place exceptional. In particular, our waitress, Leila. She added the most genuine touches to all that she did, making her service the best I've ever experienced. It made our night a lot more special than it already was. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Easily one of the most enjoyable meals of had in a long time. Service was really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Or the regional price. Primitivo wine was equally delicious. Highly recommend it I will come here again.

I really want to like Russo & Russo. Their service was top notch but not all their food impressed us. Our dinner started with very unimpressive pastas. Linguini, Morton Bay Bug and Sourdough Pici, Wagyu Shin Ragu, Roasted Capsicum. Both were over salted and a little unpleasant to eat but we were hungry. The sauce was quite heavy for both pastas and no refinement. All we thought about was which takeaway pasta we had recently was way better! Grilled Duck Breast, Burnt Mandarin, Freekeh was the best and it was a relief. We love every mouthful. Tender, juicy and tasty. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Sunfower Seeds, Garlic, Nori although tasted good, but for the sake of achieving crispiness it has become “too burnt “. They left the sprouts in the oven for too long. I would like to taste some of the wonderful brussel sprouts but they were all desiccated! It’s not a cheap dinner so we were really disappointed. We expected much better pastas.

Romantic and warm. Cocktails, service and food were beautiful and delicious. Enjoyed their take away during lockdown and it was great to come in person to enjoy the vibe.

An amazing date night spot. We ended up selecting the tasting menu and wine pairing. We were absolutely blown away by how consistently good each course was. The service was friendly and attentive through the entire evening. For the amount of food and the quality of the food and drinks, the price of $135 per person is great value. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Food was way too salty. The beef tartare was good though. Really wanted to like the food but was too dissapointed. There were so many good reviews on the restaurant 🥲🥲.

Had dinner tonight and it was spectacular! Wonderful food, friendly staff Best focaccia ever! Scallop is a must try. Definitely come back for more ❤️

Had such an amazing time at Osteria. The food was so delicious and the staff were incredible. It’s hard to find good service now a days but osteria staff showed so much passion and attention to detail and my friends and I feel so comfortable and looked after. We will definitely be coming back!!!

Best Italian food in Sydney made with high quality ingredients. Food was really delicious with low cost for the high quality, amazing service and a wonderful atmosphere. A recommendation is to get the tiramisu for dessert, it is the best I have ever had.

What an awesome Jen of a place. Hospitable with a family run restaurant which is getting hard to find. Charming bistro feel with beautiful memorable photographs. Unpretentious, delightful and then there is the food. We tried over 50% of the menu and loved every dish! Fresh, made with heart and served with a smile: an absolute must and cannot wait to come back

I was recommended this restaurant from a friend, however, after reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive; the reviews were either fantastic or quite poor. Despite this, I decided to give it a go and oh boy, was I happy I did. The food was absolutely incredible, and our waiter was amazing; he was polite and friendly and very attentive. The food was honestly that delicious that I keep thinking of it (the cacio e pepe bone marrow!) I will definitely be back (and soon!)

We had the tasting menu with paired wines - so so yum. Absolutely recommend! The guy who owns the restaurant was such an amazing host. So fun. Delicious food. Do it.

We had a lovely meal last night. The restaurant has an intimate feeling and great candle lit ambiance. The shared plates were delicious and authentic. Every staff member we interacted with greeted us and made us feel welcome. Roberto our waiter was excellent.

A delicious date night spot. Upstairs is cozy and intimate. Service was personal and friendly. All food was incredibly delicious, highly recommend the octopus salad.

The bread for starters was cold, would’ve appreciated it being warm + the butter served together was good! We ordered the fried nori (delicious, but a bit too small for the price) together with zucchini flower (disappointed at how they opened the flower, preferred having it in a full closed flower - the cheese was good). Bone marrow was really disappointing!! Idk what they served it with, that orange thing with the sauce was too salty - it wasn’t what we imagined it. This rendition was just a no. And only two pieces of toast wasn’t enough. Mud crab (i think) tagliatelle with xo sauce was really good. I think this was one of the highlights of the night. I would definitely recommend trying this. Tiramisu for dessert was really delicious!! Love the texture of the mascarpone + the biscuit was dipped enough in espresso.

We had a little wedding celebration at Russo & Russo, and I cannot emphasise how amazing, easy and professional Marc and his team were throughout the whole night. It was the most cozy venue, and the food was absolutely delicious. Marc was incredibly flexible, even when we had to change numbers last minute due to sickness. Thank you again, Marc & team, for making our evening super special.

All Entree we’ve ordered were so yummy. But Mains were quite salty didn’t like most of it. Especially risotto was a big failure tasted like something burnt and very rough texture almost not cooked. We had one bites each only... Homemade coke was yum. Staff were friendly. We were served on 2nd floor nice vibe, lots of candles, quite dark. And very old wood smell? Which was disturbing from the sitting till the end of dinner. Overall, IF i come here again, would order entree only with nice wine and homemade coke!
