Nice coffee. Very creamy. A bit bitter but OK. Nice atmosphere inside as well as pleasent staff. Also a bit pricy....coffee was $5.80. Yes I will be back.

One of the best cafes in the local area. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating . Interior cosy and welcoming with dark polished wooden floors and a semi home, semi industrial feel about it (hard to explain). Well frequented. The food is good. Have eaten here numerous times for breakfast and lunch. The staff are professional and welcoming. The only thing I’d say is that the single tables are quite small, so if you are getting lots of things, go for a double if you can get one, otherwise it can be squishy. Close to Johnson Park so you can grab takeaway and make your own picnic.

Very kid/family friendly. Awesome food and coffee. Open long hours and pretty much every day of the year. This Cafe is super reliably great. Highly reccomend. Their scrambled eggs are a favourite of the toddler. They have some toys and colouring in stuff if your kid needs a something to focus on other than cresting chaos.

We are lucky to have lived in walking distance of Sideways for the last 15 years. The family owners Danielle, Ian, Lorraine and co. are absolute gems. They never miss a beat, and if there is a better run cafe in this city then I’d love to know. 5.5 stars from me.

This place really surprised me. Great corner location in a suburban quiet street with a great cozy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and family / pet friendly. We were attended to immediately and given the choice of any table. Some really good looking items on the menu with an all day breakfast. We ordered a couple of coffees a big breakfast and a salmon salad with brown rice. I can't fault the food at all. Generous servings, cooked just right and very tasty. The prices are reasonable and the service and staff was quick and very friendly.

All we can say is wow! We've tried to stop here before and it's always busy. Today we could see a few spare seats so came up for lunch after soccer drop off down the road. We were greeted warmly before even entering the door and offered a seat. Staff we prompt, polite and generally amazing. We had the lamb flatbread and lamb moussaka - both absolutely delicious! And so quick! We decided to have dessert as well after noting that all the sweet treats are baked in-house which is something we love and we can assure that the banoffee and the brownie did not disappoint. We can't forget to mention the coffee which was the best we'd had in a long time. So good that we had to grab and extra one to takeaway to the game with us! Thankfully the kids play football in the area quite often so we'll have an excuse to come back.

Wow, my family had an amazing lunch here! Ian took great care of us and I really appreciated how he even went above and beyond to portion the food so we could share! Would recommend 😊

Very traditional Aussie style cafe that I used to visit for many years. Foods and drinks are average but the vibe here is perfect.

Very nice cafe just off Johnson park so works perfectly to have lunch there or coffee after the dogs play session as the place is dog friendly The lamb moussaka was very nice, the chicken burger was ok but I felt the lemon grass was a bit overpowering for my taste The service was amazing, very friendly and welcoming staff I would suggest some heaters for the outside seating area Will definitely be back to try different things of the menu and the specials

A blissful little local cafe .. loved every second of it. Got my perfectly scrambled eggs on toast and crispy bacon, such a simple dish but so easy to go wrong .. and kudos to sideways cafe .. they got it just right! Will definitely come back for more ..

Interesting interpretation of Asian food. The size of ice long black is quite tiny. Green eggs are pretty good.

Food was tasty and came out quickly - took about six minutes for our milkshakes, toastie, and baked eggs to come out. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and insisted on giving marshmallows to the little one when we left.

Came here for lunch. My brother got the Tumeric Baked Eggs. He loved it but thought some lemon would elevate the dish so he asked the kind waitress for some lemon. Not only did she bring lemon, she also bought some tomato relish which absolutely suited the dish. An example of the staff actually understanding the dish and being very polite and helpful. 5/5 stars, keep up the great work !

This is truly my favourite cafe in Sydney. Good coffee, good food and the service is always fantastic. A great community cafe where everyone is welcome. No matter how busy - they will always find you a table. I first went when I arrived in Sydney 14 years ago - and was actually a major factor in our decision to buy a house nearby!

Average food and prompt service until… First time visit. Three people spent $90. The waitress (light brown hair. I think she is one of the owners) put down a ham and cheese croissant without confirming if it was my order and turned her head away. I had to chase her all the way to the counter to let her know that wasn’t my order. The waitress gave me a look without apologize and handed me the right dish from the kitchen. I had to carry my own plate back to my desk. Serious? Gave me a look and treated as my fault? Zero apology? Nice example to the rest of the staff. I hope you are not mixing up. I am the one who paid your rent. You had your chance. I would rather spent my $90 somewhere else with better attitude.

Sadly, this place has changed ownership. Straight away, we could sense a different atmosphere to what we were used to. Previous owner was always friendly and welcoming. New owner and his partner were not welcoming at all, zero smiles and overall unpleasant vibe. Us, a table of 3, waited 20 mins for out food, despite only 2 other tables inside with customers. 12.45 on a Sunday, usually the place would be pumping. My corn fritters were luke warm, so asked waitress to put in microwave to warm up. Went to pay and queried the price, the owner just repeated the amount. This place used to be so welcoming and friendly. It's such a shame, as we'd often go there, but won't be going again. If you want people to feel welcome, smile and be welcoming!

Sideways cafe is my favourite cafe! Great coffee, delicious food - love that the breakfast menu is all day, and the staff are so friendly. It's so lovely sitting outside and watching the world go by. Definitely a must visit.

Rather mediocre for the price. The Eggs Benedict (technically Eggs Florentine as they had no ham included and did have spinach) came with a cold Hollandaise sauce that had a bit too much lemon flavour for my taste. Does not come included with any sides so you'll have to add your own. The other sandwich we had was mid too. Coffee was ok.

I NEVER write reviews but this Cafe delivers perfection every. single. time! The coffee, breakfast and service is always on point and everything just hits your stomach perfectly. Deserves nothing but fives across the board. If you're a local or visiting definitely do yourself a favour!

Sideways is such a cute cafe! They are really community minded and so friendly. They really helped the locals through lockdown and I'm so glad to see they're still smashing it. There can be a bit of wait for takeaway but it's worth it!

Bustling suburban cafe in all the best ways. Despite coming for a late lunch at 2:30pm there were few available tables! Thankfully they are open until 5pm at least on weekdays. The moussaka was sadly sold out, instead the pie and pumpkin tart went down nicely. The coffee was really good and the cakes were too. The service was frequent and friendly without being too pushy.

This place is a gem. Third time I've been there and each time has been such a great experience. Food is excellent and consistent. The service is spot on. Professional, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Stopped in for a quick coffee while my son was at soccer nearby. Coffee was excellent and service was quick and attentive. Have been here for breakfast before too and it was great. Good selection of fresh cakes and pastries also available.

👍 Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
