There is a lot to do here. Space to run, the river path for walking and riding, a ripper playground and some short bush walking tracks. The downside is that the kiosk is closed and they used to do some great hot chocolate and toasted sandwiches etc. hopefully some one will start it up again. Its easy to get to by foot, car or bike with ample parking and toilet facilities. Once you are on the path here you can go miles in both directions.

Gough Whitlam Park is a tranquil community park situated beside the Cooks River. The equipment is amazing with a wide range of fun and entertaining options. There is a lot of thriving natural vegetation and a garden atop its small hill planted with various plants derived from around the world. There are many nice walking trails, which additionally offer cycling opportunities. The cafe can be quite nice, with many breakfast and lunch dishes as well as cool, refreshing smoothies. I highly recommend a visit to Gough Whitlam park for anyone looking for a calm and relaxing experience within nature, located just beside the Tempe station!

Great Park with inclusive amenities for all. There's a cafe with ample covered and uncovered seating, so you can get a coffee or a bite to eat. For those who like to BYO, there's lots of barbeques that are well maintained and a full sized sports oval. Lots of parking. On this day it looked like there was a car club catch up with a small spectacle of fancy looking car's with their owners getting together for a catch up, and happy to let the curious observer have a look and take some photos. Toilet block that you can use. Great kids playground as well as a Ping Pong Table (don't see many of these around)! Good walkways along the river with bridge's and indigenous mosaics.

It was a great park with a lot of Indigenous amenities with along a beautiful walk down to the river. Playground for kids to enjoy. They were a statue standing piece next to the garden. Generously, they were a ping pong table for us to play near the shade area. There is a sports field that you can enjoy. Toilets are available. BBQ area for family or friends. A river stream when we walked onto the bridge. Conclusion The park itself is massive to be out walking with you dog or having a good time.

We've passed by many times for that park until today, which it was the first time that we had a walk around the park and played ping pong or table tennis πŸ“ overall it's a very nice area to go there.

Good parking, a nice little cafe and a playground for the kids. It's also a good place to start a circuit up the southern side of the cooks river, cross over a couple of k up the river at the golf course and walk back crossing at canal road to complete the circuit back to the car park. Along the way you'll see plenty of black and grey mangroves (in better condition each year, the greys are just about to flower), a few water birds (spoonbill's are awesome!) and enjoy the river. It's a safe stroll for kids and a nice bike ride. if you're interested in the flora you should check out the Cooks River Estuarine Vegetation Management Plan, available from the canterbury council website.

Amazing Park A great playground for little kids that is fenced off so they don't wander. It's also close to trees, so there is plenty of shade after 2pm An amazing playground for the bigger kids with a flying fox and a spider climber. Excellent walking paths over bridges, manicured gardens and a nice stroll beside the river. Plenty of photo opportunities. A basketball court and a cricket oval close to toilets and a kiosk (currently under construction) An excellent place for a picnic or a BBQ.

This is great park with so much to do. Two playgrounds, a cafe, toilets, basketball talk, walk along the river and gorgeous a garden inspired of the world. My two boys loved it and we were there for ages. See more on Instagram parksandadventuresofsydney

Fun for the whole family! This park has a bit of everything. It has two separate playgrounds, one of which is enclosed. It has a couple of playing fields, basketball hoops, cricket nets, duel flying foxes and a large climbing net. It even has a table tennis table (you just have to bring your own balls and bats). This park does get really busy though so the kids need to be prepared to wait a while for the flying foxes. Remember to cover the kids in sunscreen as the main park doesn't have any shade cloths. It backs onto a little pond with viewing platforms and a bridge and it links up with a bike /walking track along the Cooks River. It's also just a short walk from Tempe St and for a slightly longer walk, you could drop by Kendrick Park. It's also a great place to see birds including pelicans, herons, cormorants, corellas, fig birds and many more. There's a cafe in the park and toilets too.

Gough Whitlam Park is a large open space with something for everyone. Great playground, cafe and lots of places to explore. Gough Whitlam park has a fenced oval, large open space, paths and tracks to explore the wetlands along the Cook’s River. The playground has plenty of equipment to keep your kids amused. A new playground area was added to the park in August 2015 and it includes lots of equipment suitable for all abilities.Β With great swings, plus one of the best flying foxes we’ve seen, this is a fantastic addition to what is already one of our favourite parks in area. One warning though – at the time of writing, the new playground has not been fenced so there is access to the river. Facilities Playground (fenced) Toilets facilities Parking Shade Cafe Sporting facilities (Basketball Court, Oval and Cricket net) On the Cooks River Drinking Fountain Accessible from Tempe station

It's kind of a scruffy park on the edge of the Cooks River but a nice place to sit or go for a walk. If you like mangroves and native reeds this is a nice place for a stroll.

I absolutely love the Gough Whitlam Park in Earlwood! My son can't get enough of the flying fox and I really enjoy going to going for walks on the walking paths end taking in the beautiful gardens. The convenience of having a coffee shop end a bathroom on site is an added bonus. It's a great part for families to enjoy and I highly recommend it.

So much here from bbq area, picnic tables, basketball court, cricket oval, toilets, play area with disabled swing, bike repair station and Cafe Green House it's open daily between 7am to 6 pm. Gough Whitlam park has a garden of the world with plants from the Middle East, Central Asia, England, Mediterranean, South Asia, Australia and South Pacific. HISTORY In 1906 building was forbidden here as the land " gave off gases and vapours" it was considered unhealthy. It was used for storage purposes by the Department of Public works. In 1978 it was donated to Canterbury council and transformed into parkland and is now used for festivals and enjoyed by all. Gough Whitlam park was named in 1982 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Whitlam Government election.

Would be so much better if the walk trail went all the way around so that we didn't have to cross the road towards Tempe train station then walk along bridge to cross the road to get back over to the park. Other than that it's a great park to take my kids to play bbq family gatherings and the cafe also has good coffee
