A shout out to the medical reception staff member, Samson, who is an absolute star when it comes to customer service and a credit to Maroubra Medical & Dental Centre. Whilst in the busy waiting area this afternoon, I witnessed Samson deal with a large number and a variety of patients (not all easy personalities). Samson treated the patients equally with kindness and respect and was extremely helpful in finding times for scheduling appointments and assisting patients with their many Medicare rebate process/questions. Very efficient and welcoming and warm service from Samson.

Absolute joke. Receptionist unbelievably rude. Left waiting while she was on the phone, then someone else had been waiting for a while, so had to see them. When finally got to speak to her, was not happy, she claimed she felt that she was about to be attacked. I said should I cancel the appointment and you can tell the doctor it was because of you, she said yes. Manager apparently just believes anything, the receptionist told her I was rude. All that was said was when she asked if I had been there before, I said: " Shouldn't you have a record of that?" That is enough for this person to be allowed to try to cover her laziness and incompetence. The management is pathetic.

Shame on the incompetent management for allowing such a despicable receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients. Real shame given how brilliant the medical staff are. Receptionist is completely unprofessional and provided incorrect information resulting in a patient being unable to receive advised care. Management are aware of this individuals incompetence. It’s entirely bewildering how this individual remains in employment. Particularly when intended to be dealing with often vulnerable people. In summary - this is shameful.

I am normally very understanding of the pressures doctors & staff are under but the lack of compassion today in my experience left me shocked. My doctor, 45 mins late, opened the door and didn’t say a word until I started explaining my issue, was not listening and simply asked me what I wanted her to give me, no advice at all. This was not something I could sort myself being an antibiotics issue and I wanted qualified medical advice. I was in tears throughout feeling insulted as my issue was put down to lack of hygiene when I had explained all the hygiene steps I now took to go above and beyond to ensure this infection did not return. My distress was not acknowledged by doctor or reception staff. I will not be returning to the practice, worth travelling elsewhere.

This is a poorly resourced medical centre. It does not have enough staff to deal with the number of people it serves. It is impossible to communicate effectively and that contact is frustrating because it is so difficult to connect and get any result at all. I asked to speak to the practice manager and they ignored the request. We will never return and have found our doctor at another place where the service is better. In the end this is a business that rents rooms to doctors - don’t expect anything else.

This medical centre is a joke. I waited over an hour and a half on hold and still no answer on the phone to book an appointment. I called another number linked to the centre (for a different division) and they said this was a very common problem before attempting to transfer me to the manager twice both with no answer. How are people meant to book an appointment if they aren’t tech savvy? Who has unlimited time to put their daily business aside to wait on hold for seemingly forever with no guarantee of an appropriate outcome?!

The receptionist I dealt with today was so RUDE, she had no interpersonal skills and in my opinion definitely should not be working with the public. She should probably go look for a different line of work! If I had the option I would of choose zero stars.

Waited 1.5hours past scheduled appointment time for newborn baby to be told repeatedly I was next in line. Then told the Dr was cancelling our appointment as the vaccination nurse had gone home hours ago. Will never again use this medical center utter waste of time.

When paying for a private appointment you expect a standard of care and service - unfortunately this medical clinic does not meet this. Firstly there was no greeting or attention from the front desk. The GP spared a short amount of time examining (Approx 10 mins) with little or so information but I was charged a $130 fee. When asking why the appointment was so expensive - the receptionist stated “this is what the doctor charges” and was not able to answer simple questions related to consultation fees. Very transactional and do not recommend.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This clinic is awful. Your experience starts with receptionists that don’t want to do their work. Blonde lady from weekday shifts with fake eyelashes doesn’t have minimum politeness or education. She is rude on the phone and also in person. I had a diarrhoea with extremely dehydration due to a stomach bacteria and I did the tests in the clinic. After couple days I called the clinic to ask if they had my results and they told me they didn’t know I had to call the pathology centre myself and beg the clinic to please contact them to get my results. I also got told: “Well it’s your results not mine”. They have signals saying: “please pay your consultation”. As everyone leaves the clinic without paying as when you leave the doctor room the receptionists don’t care and are too busy on their phone to talk to you about your appointment costs. They don’t say minimum “good morning”, “good afternoon” or “thank you”. I would totally recommend the blonde lady from reception to quit her job because she is clearly unhappy. Plus doctors are also terrible. I had the most common bacteria in Australia and doctor was not knowledgeable to give me the cause of it. Patients look for medical services when they need it. They are already feeling sick and vulnerable and they need the minimum education and professionalism. I am looking forward for Randwick council to shut down this place because that is not the health treatment locals in the area deserve.

I don't ever write reviews, but my experience with Dr Masumeh Maarefjou has been amazing. She is the best female doctor i have ever dealt with. She is kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable and i can't recommend her enough.

Pleasant staff, not much of a wait and you get some money back from Medicare. Been few times and always positive experience.

From the second you walk in there, it's just a horrible atmosphere. Three members of staff sitting behind a desk that fully ignored us for about a minute while standing around chatting amongst themselves. No smiles, no proper greeting from staff that clearly hate their jobs. Miserable doctor. The place is devoid of warmth, empathy or decent customer service. I hope I never have to return. A hideous experience.

I am really disappointed in the receptionists there. I went to pick up a script as I was asked to go in there at 1pm. Even spoke twice on the phone with the lady receptionist and they confirmed it would be ready. I went there at 3pm so even later than expected and they did not even know who I was. They asked for me to come back the next day. I explained I was disappointed and upset that this mistake had happened it's quite silly and can easily be fixed. They explained to me we are not accountable for this mistake and did not seem to care much. No empathy what so ever.

I booked immunisations for my 2 month old baby under the advice from reception that I would get a full rebate. Ended up being charged $50 out of pocket just to be escorted to the nurse to get my baby immunised. The doctor didn't do anything and charged me $50 for it... On the receipt they gave me the amount is not broken down by fee and this extra charge. Only found out after numerous attempts calling reception. I was given an apology and told "the doctor can charge whatever they want" I'd give zero stars if it were possible.

This center does not care for patient welfare. They make appointments for you and make you wait forin an hour when the doctor isn't in the centre and don't tell you about it. You have to ask and they say it is not there fault forr booking appointments when doctor is not in. Only after you ask why there is no one coming in and out that you are asked to wait and wait....then give you an option if you want to see someone else.
