Liverpool
has
'nice
modern
facilities'
but
the
standard
of
care
is
far
from
modern
-
in
fact
unprofessional
towards
patients.
When
patients,
with
an
unmet
clinical
need,
walk
through
a
hospital
they
should
have
confidence
to
be
receiving
utmost
medical
treatment
in
a
non-hostile
environment.
Regardless
of
whether
the
patient
is
admitted
as
a
private
or
public
patient,
standard
of
care
should
not
differ.
Ethical
and
medical
treatment
should
be
the
same.
My
dad
was
admitted
to
Liverpool
Hospital
as
a
public
patient
and
received
unsatisfactory
treatment
by
the
doctors
in
an
acute
ward.
A
patient
centric
focus
to
deliver
care
was
clearly
lacking
–
this
is
disappointing
provided
that
there
are
NSW
directed
policies
that
pre-empt
a
patient
centric
framework
for
both
inpatient
and
outpatient
facilities.
One
instance,
dad
waited
over
1
hour
to
get
an
ultrasound
in
his
arm
and
when
asked
for
an
update,
a
JMO
was
unable
to
clearly
interpret
the
report.
I
am
a
qualified
and
trained
radiologist
doctor.
Dad
saw
2
registrars
who
both
were
arrogant
and
complained
how
tired
they
were
without
coming
to
a
consensus
on
diagnosing
my
dad.
My
husband
(a
registered
nurse,
RN8)
and
I
visited
dad
in
the
acute
ward
for
2
weeks
and
after
witnessing
dad’s
health
depreciating
from
neglect
(he
developed
pneumonia
and
an
infection
after
a
fall
in
the
ward)
we
requested
dad
be
discharged
after
escalating
to
hospital
executive
under
the
condition
that
the
hospital
was
considered
unsafe
for
his
health
and
failing
to
offer
the
clinical
care
dad
needed.
We
left
more
stressed
compared
before
admission.
It
is
a
shame
this
was
my
experience.
I
think
the
hospital
needs
to
think
how
care
can
be
aligned
with
their
vision
-
as
a
research
and
teaching
hospital.
Staff
need
to
be
educated.
Stricter
process
for
recruiting
doctors
and
nurse
placement
based
on
competent
skills
and
experience
need
to
be
enforced.
I
am
hesitant
about
plans
for
NSW
health
for
developing
Liverpool
Hospital
into
becoming
a
Health
and
Academic
Precinct.
Clearly
not
ready
and
the
culture
is
still
too
hostile.
Needs
improvement.
