Emperor's puffs and the Mangoade drink is everything that's right with the world. The Friday night market is amazing! Fried food on the road makes it feel kinda like home.

Busy area with many restaurants and shops. Good to walk around for small snacks but for main meals, you can find better food somewhere else.

We walked through Chinatown after lunch since we were in Darling Square already. There is a gate located on the Hay street end of Dixon street. The place was lined with a myriad of restaurants and lots of small arcades with more food or shopping options. Since we did have lunch we ended up grabbing a few desserts there including the Emperor puffs and Sweet Lu egg tarts. When we were there on Friday, they were setting up the stalls for the markets later that evening. It did look like it went along Dixon street.

Wide array of shops and food choices. If you are around Mother’s Chu Taiwanese Gourmet is a must try. It is right opposite the place which sells amazing Emperor puffs. The food I had: 1) Warm soya milk which had the fragrant taste of roasted soy beans. 2) Taiwanese vermicelli with fresh oysters. Add some Taiwanese vinegar and white pepper for extra flavour and that slight kick. 3) Pork and Century egg congee. Very good texture and flavours. 4) Cong You Bing with egg and you tiao. Not overly oily with good flavours. You tiao was very crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.

We are so lucky to be able to visit Chinatown regularly and try all the amazing places to eat and cuisines. Friday nights Street markets are always a treat and Paddy's markets are also located within the area with an outlet shopping centre above. So many great things to do

A Sydney enclave that showcases the Overseas Chinese cultural heritage together with other Asian migrants. There are many restaurants of Asian origins located in the area and you can find authentic Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Malaysian fare here. There's also many shops selling imported goods from these countries. On Friday evenings from 5pm onwards, there is a night market selling street food to cater to students who missed their home food and for locals alike. It can be very crowded and some stalls selling specialty food will be swarmed by customers. Prepare to wait and it's worth it as these food taste is close to those authentic served in the country of origin.

The hustle and bustle of Sydney is seen here. There are live performances by artists, streets have a lot of shoppers and tourists, it's a lively place to visit anyday. The Asian food restaurants and the shops are clustered together to give a good experience to the traveller.

I come here every Chinese New Year. The atmosphere is great. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Line up for some custard puffs or blend into the crowd.

The go-to spot for the best Chinese food! Countless restaurants open late, so you're never hungry on this lively street. Lighting and cleanliness could be a bit better, but the variety of options makes up for it. Chinatown Sydney is the ultimate destination for a tasty Chinese feast, and the bustling atmosphere adds to the experience.

A great place to visit for a new experience. Try the Night Market for some crazy street food. Or get fruit and vegetables and bargains from Paddy's Market. Hint. Get custom made leather belts while you wait at stall 270

This iconic part of Sydney has to be a must for any visitor to Sydney that happens to be there on a Friday night and wants to experience the hustle bustle of the night market and just the intensity of restaurant, food and market stalls and the general hubbub and chattering all around. The many public transport options to get there and close proximity to the town hall / Central Station make Chinatown very accessible and something not to be missed.

There are many good tasting food there with reasonable price. But the Chinatown is actually very small. The whole road is like 200 meters. I don’t know if I missed any part of it but that’s all I can see.

I love this place especially the Emperor puffs from Emperor bakery, to many top Asuan restaurants to list, except for The Peking Duck, just to good!

Really lovely atmosphere. Beautiful place with a range of restaurants from boogie to super affordable. Great places to take photos and browse through the different south East Asian cuisines.

Fantastic Chinatown, every shop open and busy. People super friendly and great service in the whole area. The usual service in Australia for those who are visiting is kind of like being mugged and then paying for it. So give this place a shot and have a fantastic day.

Came here for the luna lantern festival! Accessible via train and light rail. Plenty of restaurants and shops at reasonable prices. If you go there on a friday, you can experience the night Market that runs till late! Definitely worth a stroll, if you're in the area.

Interesting place, can get pretty busy during peak hours. Prepare cash as it's preferred and the only option in some places/stalls at the night market. Lots of restaurants and spots to choose from. I recommend trying the emperor's puffs. it's a hole in the wall next to the Chinese bakery, you'll know it when you see a long line
