🧶Rating: 5/5 💎The Layout: It’s a fairly big place and has a lot of selection of yarns, needles, and colors. When you first walk in and turn to the left you’ll see a section for mittens and socks. In a bit of the middle part of the store to the right you’ll see a section of yarn for sweaters. They also have a little stand for books about knitting. A bit farther to the right of the store you’ll see a lot of different types of fabrics. They also have a section for sweaters and I also think that some yarns you can make dolls with. In each section of yarn they have tons of colors like dark blue, light blue, dark green, light green, gray, white, black, etc. 🎲My experience: I’ve never knitted a day in my life before, but I started watching videos about knitting and was like “Hey, why don’t I just test it out?” So then I started looking for knitting shops and Morris & Sons was the first one to pop up, so the next day I went there. I arrived at about 10:15am and even though they opened at 10:00am, there were already a few people there before me. Since I am very new to knitting so I immediately went up to one of the ladies that worked there and I started asking some questions and the she explained quite a few things to me and helped me out a bunch and showed me around and the things I was looking for and she recommended a few things too and told me which yarns work best with more specific things, which was very helpful of her. I got 2 yarns that were $7.50 each, symfonie knitting needles for $15.50, and an 80cm orange cable for $4.90. Everything cost $35.60. I currently don’t have any near future plans of going back just yet because I’m still practicing with what I bought and seeing if I like knitting but in the future, if I do come back to Sydney and still am continuing knitting, I would 100% come back. 📐Likes: The selection of yarns, colors, and other things that they added in are actually quite impressive for a selection and also the colors because they have multiple shades of a color too. The location is also nice because it’s fairly close to the Queen Victoria Building. The staff there are really helpful and it’s very efficient to go there.

Nice yarn, high end stuff, love having a browse. I have to echo the sentiment of previous comments in saying that they should clearly price all their stock. Also a very overpriced store, exact same yarns can be found cheaper elsewhere. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful, all in all I am happy that this place exists.

After lockdown, the size of the shop has diminished. They used to have 2 floors, now only 1 floor on the street level. The yarns on offer are still plentiful. Be ready to pay handsomely for them. As much as i love the quality of the yarns, it is burning a hole in my budget.

I was completely blown away by the selection and quality of the yarn available. I really highly suggest this place to anyone who is into fibre arts. Highly knitting focused , but still had crochet hooks, embroidery and felting tools, and some quilting fabrics.

Friendly staff, love the product, but I must say its quite a bit expensive. I was there to buy wool rovings and tools for my needle felt project. The wool rovings are quite expensive. I really hope they sell wools in larger quantity and cheaper prices. $8.5 per 20g is... Yeah...

Really lovely shop to have a wander around with lots of variety. I would not say that the yarn is particularly overpriced, they sell a mid to higher range product and you get what you pay for regarding quality most of the time with Yarn. If you want acrylic (which I do also use) then you will pay less. If you want variety and yarns from around the world yes you will pay more. Definitely worth popping into to see all the colours if your nearby.

Lovely yarn store with a wide range of wool yarns and supplies. They also have a small quilting/fabric section. Staff were really helpful and knowledgeable!

I have no idea about knitting. I just needed a 2mm diameter knitting needle for a project I was working on at home. The ladies here were so incredibly helpful! They could tell I needed help and went out of their way to help me. This is the second time I’ve been there for a specific diameter knitting needle and they were exactly the same last time as well. Amazing service! Thank you ladies!

friendly and knowledgeable staff, but was a little disappointed with the pricing. they obviously have a huge range but they do not stock any acrylic so the prices are incredibly expensive ($10 for 50g of wool) would not recommend for beginners because of the price.

The woman serving me was so rude she’s always rude every time I’ve been in and she never smiles she must hate working there. It’s unfortunate because often you want to ask questions about your project and are excited about it. Any excitement gets killed when she serves you such a shame

A lovely shop! It's always exciting to walk through and browse through the yarn (and the fabric range). I've only ever had positive experiences, with the staff taking the time to explain pros and cons of the different yarns for projects. The website has really improved this year as well!

The quality of service from all at Morris and Sons is outstanding. Everyone is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. They are my favourite go to shop, particularly throughout COVID. My on-line shopping experience with them has been nothing short of fantastic.
