Iā€™m absolutely shocked at the appalling service from the emergency department. They neglected my 13 month baby for 2 hours after having higher than normal temperature and gasping for air. I had to leave and get another ambulance to St George Hospital for care. Bankstown hospital, you are a hospital full of heartless aggressive rude nurses, where is your heart? You should all be ashamed of yourself, I know nursing is the hardest of all jobs but if you donā€™t have the heart & passion for it, quit and save all these innocent patients the heartache you share. And the manager of Emergency, youā€™re a pig, telling me to leave if Iā€™m not happy with the service is beyond catastrophic when your babies struggling to breathe. What kind of person are you. Avoid this hospital, toxic staff!!!

I came here with my dad for his appointment, it went totally fine the doctor was amazing she helped with everything however when we were sent to get a pathology test done this was the result as soon as we walked in the office was completely covered with no human interaction from the people inside tans we were completely ignored by the stuff that walked in and out of the door, the only reason we knew what to do was because of the nice people already waiting telling us to take a ticket, this also continued to happen with other people waiting for a test !!!!

The worst emergency department EVER! Been there a few time and all were horrible experience. I was there with severe pain. They had me waiting THREE hours and over to finally check on me. Ive noticed similar situations with other patients who were also there in painful situations. The ER doctor doesnt know how to take blood either, after several tries I was left with bruised arms. I could say more but please dont go there if its an emergency. Unless you want to wait hours to get checked on.

The stars get lower and lower, staff call the wrong number for family even though I gave my number. Canā€™t get through. Who knows whatā€™s going on with my father because they donā€™t answer the phone. If he is even still here I wouldnā€™t know because they are not calling his next of kin which is me. Sitting here worried about my father to get nothing. Sort your staff out. Not my job award goes to the women answering the phones today on 16/11/2023. Thanks for making me cry, itā€™s hard enough that my father is sick. To get her on the other end, I shouldnā€™t have bothered calling back. All she had to do is type my fathers name in the computer. But she couldnā€™t be bothered, no empathy at all. Some Caring staff, easy triage for visiting family.

Our experience at this hospital was extremely disappointing. Our 4-year-old was admitted to the emergency unit and then directed to the children's section, which was unusually quiet on New Year's Eve. Despite the low patient volume, when we urgently informed the nurse about our imminent flight in 4 hours, the Dr., who was assigned to see our daughter, seemed preoccupied chatting with colleagues. Despite handing him the referral and stressing our time constraints, the Dr. disappeared, leaving the nurse attempting to reach him over the PA system. I sincerely hope, Dr, that you never experience such disregard, especially if you have children. As taxpayers, we expected a higher level of service from you as a doctor. We left without being attended to, and in a nearly empty hospital, this behavior is unacceptable. A plea to hospital management: address and monitor such lapses in professionalism.

This place is a really good hospital. The doctors and nurses are great. But the sad reality is that some people aka patients expect the world at their feet and make it uncomfortable for everyone. People need a reality check to learn some respect for themselves and the staff who are trying to save lives and treat the sick. Even if that means waiting. I only wish the government gave this place more funding for more staff to deal with these impatient people

My toddler was given excellent care by the nursing and medical team in ED and the paediatrics ward. He had breathing difficulties and was seen immediately in Emergency. The ED doctor and paediatrics doctor were both competent, friendly and made an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. The nurses were phenomenal in providing treatment to a frightened and wriggly toddler, settling him down. They looked after his and our needs in a caring and compassionate manner. Winter season is a challenging time in public hospitals, especially during a pandemic. The Bankstown team should be proud of their excellent work in difficult times. Thank you :)

As a nurse here, I have not in my career worked at a better hospital. The culture here among staff is second to none. We are a hospital that services just under a quarter of million people. We at bankstown prioritize care and obviously if you are coming to emergency for a sore finger(yes some people do) a person who has chest pain or is critical will be seen and attended to as a priority. If only people could see how hard the dedicated staff within this hospital work. We need a bigger hospital to service this growing community.

If I could give a minus review I would! This hospital is disgraceful. The staff are rude, offer no help and also lack the attention. My wife was in there twice with extreme pain and crying. She is thrown into the waiting room with no medication to pause the pain, they finally see her after 4 hours and give her nothing again! I had to argue with the guy at the front desk as his rude comment of if you dont like it then take your wife out of this hospital! I called him an imbecile after that comment. Lucky I transferred my wife to StGeorges hospital where she now is in proper care. Bankstown hospital is a brothel and a jungle. The staff all should be fired.

Bankstown- hospital team is so filthy my son 20yrs old has been in hospital since Friday and on life support in the ICU department the experience is a living night mare for all of us - mother, sister and for himself they overdosed him the medical team and he has not come right in there hands everything that is currently occurring is because of him and as of 29/08/23 he almost drowned in his own vomit and no one cared, when we called for help they took there time - We want to rip them all to shreds because we are in and experiencing so much pain but we know violence wonā€™t resolve anything - we are scared to wake and he has died in there hands we will never let this go all the has currently has happened and more. It deserves no stars there is so much going and has gone on - we just want our baby to get better and come home alive. We feel for all family who have experienced something similar my family stand behind you - we stand for those who are also currently going through mistreatment. They are not taking care of him, MY SON the way we hoped and thought. When we speak they wonā€™t listen. So now we have had over enough. Please pray for us and keep our baby in your prayers that he will make it out alive.

I understand that it is difficult with covid going on, however I have a very sick toddler with an ear infection which was pre diagnosed by gp, tempreture was 40 degrees and rising. They didn't let me explain any thing, took myself and toddler to covid positive area for over an hour and was basically threatened with taking my child if I didn't get a test. Both tests negative, then after being in covid positive area was placed back in er waiting room, I had to beg for medicine to lower my child's tempreture, which she spat out. 2 hours later I had to ask for another tempreture check as no vitals were taken after 2 hours. Also you can't even swap with other parent, I wet my pants as I could not leave toddler in waiting room full of strangers and my partner wasn't allowed to even hold her for 2 minutes while I went., I ended up leaving and without seeing anyone and having to pay for after hours doctor. They only care about covid not actual medical care. Now I am terrified we could have caught covid.

This hospital doesn't deserve any star at all. Waiting in Emergency department for 6 hours with tummy pain. Requested pain medication several time. The nurses don't have time for last six hours to give me a medicine. Doctor.. long way to go .. Don't know how long at least 6 plus hours to see a doctor. Don't come here if you have other choice

ICU @ Bankstown hospital is a joke. The way they treat their patients and the lack of communication is despicable. As health care professionals, you are meant to show care and empathy. You become a RN because your heart is in the job, if you can't hack it, move on!. Don't let your patients and their loved ones suffer because you've had a bad day. Everyone knows public hospitals are under staffed, under paid, and lack funding. That doesn't mean you get to be less professional and less caring!. If you don't like your job, change careers!. Treat your patients how you would treat your own grandmother. ICU staff should all be absolutely disgusted with themselves. The reviews on Google say enough.

I would like to praise the nurses in the admission and and in the Emergency Department . Theyā€™re very helpful and very attentive to my needs. I would like to commend the wonderful nurses that looked after me at the ward and thank you to the amazing Urologist and Dr. Alex who attended to me. They really made sure I was okay before discharging me from the hospital.

Really great nurses and doctors in this very busy hospital. Admin staff are so helpful and very patient. Thank you to staff in the Eye Clinic for the surgeries the doctors perform and the work all the staff do to preserve and save people's vision. 5 stars at least.

Bankstown Emergency Paediatric The nurses are helpful, attentive and bubbly. My son was admitted overnight and we are well looked after. They have been very alert onto what we needed and we donā€™t even need to ask for it! I appreciate all those nurses and doctors who have attended to us 10.10.22 - 11.10.22

The receptionist named Kelly working in Gastro Clinic was probably the rudest and most unprofessional receptionist I had come across in my entire life. We had an appointment for 11am got to the clinic at 11:15am as we were struggling to find parking and had to walk 800 metres with a 2-year old. When we handed in our referral, this receptionist named Kelly just threw it back and said in the coldest tone possbile "The doctor won't see you today because you are late." She didn't offer to reschedule or anything else, just left us standing there astounded, with the "I don't care" kind of atttidude written all over her face. Prof. Rajendra was such an amazing doctor but the recpetion needs a total overhaul to stop someone like Kelly from giving the hospital a bad image.

Some MH Nurses here can sometimes be a joke, where theyā€™ll expect you to tell the truth yet sound hesitant to believe you when you do. This gives off the atmosphere that if what you say doesnā€™t go their way or doesnā€™t seem to antagonise yourself enough, it will be automatically considered ā€œfalse/a lieā€. Such as if you admit to thinking of/planning to hurt yourself more/further, you would be scorned at, or if youā€™ve said to have disposed of all sharps, you are reassured again to be telling ā€˜the truthā€™. Otherwise all doctors and nurses Iā€™ve come across during my time (including in the past) here were excellent. They were friendly and assisting. Also the first hospital Iā€™ve attended that has a MH dept (apart from Westmead).

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. How on earth is this is a hospital?? AVOID AVOID AVOID!! I have never witnessed such lack of care. I arrived practically bleeding on their floor from a possible miscarriage and was told there was a 7 hour wait and ā€˜if I didnā€™t like, to go homeā€™. I wasnā€™t even given a tissue to wipe the blood. Absolute putrid people running this hospital. I know the Australian government has ruined our public healthcare system, but do us all a favour and SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN.

if i could give this hospital 0 rating i would. My god is it awful! i came in 2 weeks ago to get stitches on my arm after a terrible cut, had to wait 3 hours in the ER to finally be seen by a doctor. He was nice at first, until he told his colleague he couldnā€™t wait till his shift was over WHILE stitching my arm?? i felt unsafe! Today i am making this review because i went to my GP to get my stitches removed and she told me the doctor that performed the suturing had done it way too tight causing the skin to grow over it. Another bad experience, we sent my brother to the ER here just a few days ago as he was in extreme stomach pain. he was on the floor crying and the nurse looks at him and says in a disgusting tone ā€œWeā€™re busy calm down you donā€™t have to scream and carry on like thisā€ Um excuse me? The lack of care is unbelievable. Mind you we had to wait 5 HOURS to be seen by a doctor. The nurses were horrible too. we walked right out. Never again! i have learnt my lesson for sure now to never ever return here

Half this hospital has been taken over by Gen Z teenagers which is a very big concern for the general health and well-being of our community. I waited like 10 hours just to figure out why I was having light chest pain. I got here at 7PM itā€™s currently almost 5AM the next day in emergencyā€¦. I went through 3 different nurses and a doctor because the shifts kept ending and rotating. No one comes to you to inform you of any update or your nurse/doctor changing. A bunch of teenagers who seem like itā€™s their first week running around the shop and jumping in-front of angry patience. Never coming here again I would rather pass away from a heart attackā€¦ in fact I probably would have died tonight and they would have put my body in the waiting room and said ā€œwait your turnā€.

My mother-in-law went to Bankstown-Lidcombe hospital on Tuesday via ambulance as she could not breathe, she was asked to take all her meds with her, which she has in a webster pack, with her name clearly labelled on it. When she arrived at the emergency department, the nursing staff of course took her meds to log into the system. Now when she was sent home they didn't hand it back to her. After getting home she realised that the hospital didn't give her meds back, so my husband went to the emergency department to go retrieve the meds, but they couldn't find them. My mother-in-law was only ever in the emergency department, so my husband insisted that someone find the meds as my mother-in-law required her meds for home. It took 3 nursing staff to locate a webster pack that clearly has her name on it! This is not the first time Bankstown hospital has lost items of ours, my now departed mother was sent to Bankstown-Lidcombe hospital last August 2021, with her C-pap machine, which she needed to breathe as she was on oxygen 24/7 and they lost that machine and no staff member could locate it.Now due to COVID and us not been able to see her, we were not told of this until 5days into her stay. My father had to travel down to RPA hospital, where she had her regular treatment, to get a machine from the respiratory unit for my mother and of course no nursing staff from the respiratory unit or nursing staff at Bankstown hospital could work this machine! My darling mother eventually died at Bankstown hospital on the 10th of August 2021 from staff negligence and lack of knowledge. You send your family there for treatment but they don't come back. Be careful people not to make to same mistake my family and I made allowing her to be sent there! An absolute disgrace of a hospital! šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¬

Government is a joke. From Covid-19 restrictions so tight countless people lost loved ones without saying goodbye, to now allowing Covid positive patients in rooms with non positive patients who might I add are already compromised (geriatric). Witnessed with my own eyes, now compromised patients considered ā€œclose contactsā€ as a result of being in a room with patients who tested positive AFTER the fact. Also, ā€œclose contactsā€ were not officially notified until at least 12 hours later, and then asked to wear masksā€¦ the staff had a whole 12 (maybe more) hours to notify all those in the room that a patient in their room Tested positive, but waited until the following day to do so. Currently waiting on the results of a fellow Patient who came in yesterday with shivering with a fever who is potentially Covid positive. Awaiting covid test result for my mother. Will be taking this further.

Iā€™m appalled. Had a procedure and when I woke up from the anaesthetic, they immediately sent me to the recovery room, but sent me home due to no beds being available. They didnā€™t tell me anything about how the procedure went or what happened and just sent me home. They said if Iā€™m in pain I can just go to the emergency room. Iā€™m fortunate to have propel that can take care of me at homeā€¦ and elderly man was told to go home because of the lack of space and he told them he does not have a carer. So the staff told him to just sit on a chair and IF a spare bed becomes available, theyā€™ll move him there.

A few years ago the care at Bankstown hospital was much better than now. I was there last night with severe nerve pain to my lower back, Iā€™ve been bedridden for 3 days feeling very helpless to myself. After 3 days been on strong meds nothing worked so the doctor told me to go in emergency for a physical assessment. The triage nurses were very nice but the doctors looking after the patients donā€™t know how to prioritise emergency cases. I came in at 6.41pm I sat in a wheel chair with agony pain to my lower back. I told one of the doctors that my clinical notes have been sent to yous, he replied by saying ā€œwe got no time to look at themā€ I then asked one nurse that can I lay down somewhere please as Iā€™m in so much pain, even though you donā€™t have to see me now she said no. I asked several times where am I on the waiting list I was ignored. Then I asked for the 4th time I was told at 10.41 I still have 12 patient before me and still no doctor has picked up my situation. Why couldnā€™t they just tell me from the time I walked in at 6:41pm that there could be a long waiting time as there is roughly 20 before me, I got really frustrated and asked for my canyila to be removed, I asked to leave immediately. I personally wonā€™t go there again as they saw the pain I was in and no doctor was going to see me before morning. Regardless I apologised to the nurse I lashed out at but Iā€™m not surprised why everyone complains from Bankstown hospital

Very badly run hospital, while I was there for 5hrs all this happenedā€¦ ā€¢ Man severely vomiting for 30min and having fits while he was laying on the ED floor other patients had to tell staff to take him in. It was very distressing watching this also for kids to have been seeing this too. ā€¢ 2 children were wrongly put in the wrong department and given wrong antibiotics ā€¢ 1 Child was left unsupervised for hrs, his parents left due to how long they were taking and the hospital could not provide service for his fracture as he was underage and his parents had to be there though they had no idea his parents left, you think the hospital wouldnā€™t allow this to happen especially for an underage child. ā€¢ Emergency evacuation was going off for 20min though we were told it was not for the childrenā€™s department yet the lady on the speaker kept giving mixed messages ā€¢ My baby was not seen and crying due to not being able to sleep the whole time we were there and was told by the doctor who was sitting at the desk that they couldnā€™t see my baby for another 2hrs as she had paperwork to do when we were already there for 5hrs which is also not healthy to keep a sick 5month old awake for that long at 3am. Very disappointed at the level of service and lack of care for children and adult patients. Medical industry services and care is getting very bad and not what it used to be. Canā€™t go to medical centres without bookings, places wonā€™t take new clients so youā€™re left with the hospital and you donā€™t even get seen. Very sad really, will never bring my children there again and stick to westmead childrenā€™s hospital. Such a shame we live so close to a hospital that we canā€™t use, ridiculous really.

Pool service and lack of care. My mother was place in ER room falling in out of consciousness with no doctor checking up on her for 6 hours of waiting. We advise that she requires her insulation and hasn't eaten for 8 hours yet they just walked off and said have a packet of chips while her sugar levels drop from being a diabetic

I had the worst experience at Bankstown ED. I went there in the morning and waited for 4hrs in the ED without seeing any doctor. When I asked the receptionist she told me I just have to wait and she can't tell me how many more hours I have to wait. Also, the condition of the ED is a mess as if this is a third world country. The siting area is congested. People were sitting on top of each other. What happened to the maintaining hygiene? Don't we pay the tax?

I was extremely satisfied with the service here when I gave birth, there are no words to describe the joy and satisfaction I have with this place. The nursing staff were extremely sociable, lovely and worked very professionally. My baby was born prematurely so I was taken to a special place and the baby was placed in a special room. Plus, I'm going home and waiting for the results of my hormones in my body, so I might still go back for another checkup. I am especially grateful to the first 3 nurses who took care of me in Mrs. Mino's special room Armor, Gwyneth they supported me a lot when I had cervical pain. I am grateful to all the staff who always helped me during that time and gave me a very comfortable spirit when returning home. Once again I really appreciate it and thank you. If I were to rate 10 stars I would give them because they deserve it.

Worst experience of my life. Went into this hospital severely suicidal and was sent there by my therapist and i had to wait 7 hours in total and just got told to go home at 2 oā€™clock in the morning. Imagine this, a 17 year old girl waiting that long just to be told to go home. It was very traumatic and made me feel very worthless and not wanted. I could of left and done something horrible. The only person that cared was the security guard and my therapist was very shocked.

I gave birth for my second child at Bankstown hospital and tbh from the amount of negative comments I've previously heard from other people I was not looking forward to having my baby there. But I have to say the midwives and the drs at the birthing unit and the maternity ward were ALL so nice and extremely helpful. I enjoyed my experience giving birth there and I'm looking forward to having my 3rd child there šŸ˜Š

Unable to rate this hospital at all. Doctors in the emergency department could not explain their diagnosis of my mother having non-specific back pain. The physiotherapist joined in with her rude and over insistent opinion of resolving my mother's pain with exercises. And then there was nurse Shirley's hinderance behaviour and lack of empathy. This hospital contributed to the delay of my mother's diagnosis, pain management and treatment of breast metastasis to bone. My mother is relieved to be treated at another hospital.

LOST MY NECKLACE OF VERY SENTIMENTAL VALUE! I was admitted under the Mental Health Act and waited on an ambulance stretcher after receiving a sedative. I was instructed to surrender all my belongings, including my phone, which I placed in my bag and handed over. The security personnel also insisted I remove my necklace, which I reluctantly complied with. Subsequently, I was placed in a cold, isolated room with unsettling bloodstains and scratch marks on the walls. Hours passed with no interaction. After a brief conversation, I continued to wait for several more hours. Upon finally being released, my bag was returned to me. However, l needed to arrange transportation via Uber, but my phone had no charge. My pleas to charge it were met with refusal, and they suggested booking a taxi for me which was no use because my debit card was stored on my phone. Consequently, I had to walk from Bankstown to Parramatta in the middle of the night, following the sedative injection. Upon arriving home, I realised that my necklace, of immense sentimental value, was missing. It was a gift from a relative overseas who had dedicated months of earnings to acquire it. Despite numerous attempts, including calls, letters, and additional visits to the hospital, my necklace remains ā€œmissingā€. What makes matters worse! In response to my inquiries, a manager asked whether I had documented the necklace and signed for its return (and told me that all belongings need to be signed in and out) and this protocol was never followed! I had no idea and signed nothing at any point! This oversight, in addition to the disregard for my safety, lack of proper care, and overall experience, leaves me deeply distressed and disheartened. It is the loss of my necklace, however, that I find most devastating. The failure of the hospital to adhere to established protocols and the subsequent misplacement of my belongings is truly heart-wrenching. Please find my necklace!

I would like to thank every single doctors, nurses and midwives of bankstown-lidcombe hospital at the birth-unit and maternity ward who have supported me throughout my second pregnancy journey. The experience for me, was more than a 5 star hotel as everyone was so caring, loving and thoughtful. Everyone here made sure that my baby and I felt safe and secure and answered all my questions thoroughly. The delivery process was absolutely smooth (in particular thanks to Helen and Annie) as they were both so patient and guided me throughout the entire pushing stage and even with after care. Words cannot describe how wonderful everyone here was. If I can give more than 100 stars I would love to. I'm sorry if I have forgotten some of the amazing nurses names, but I will always remember you all. Thank you once again everyone, thank you for working so hard and thank you for your kindness and wonderful works. Best birth experience ever!

My experience at the hospital's emergency department was nothing short of appalling. Despite our previous visit for an x-ray and plaster just a week ago, we were left waiting for over three hours for a simple plaster change for my 2.5-year-old son. The complete lack of attention and the doctor casually strolling around without addressing our situation is unacceptable. My son went without food, becoming increasingly cranky. It's outrageous that a supposedly urgent matter turned into a marathon wait. This level of incompetence and disregard for patients is inexcusable. I intend to bring these concerns directly to the hospital administration, and I strongly advise others to think twice before relying on this emergency department for prompt and competent care. I want to give 0

WORST place to get a covid swap. Didn't get my result for more than 48hrs. Called in and spoke to Anna, the nurse who was extremely rude and disrespectful. She advised me that results for essential healthcare workers can take more than 48hrs and if I haven't received my result, it must not be ready. I asked her to pls check my details in her system and gave her my name and DOB and she gave me my result.

It was that bad that im to scared to make a complaint incase I have a bad accident in the future and Iā€™m taken there by ambulance. Based on how bad it was and what happened they will def make my life hell as a patient if I was to make a complaint and itā€™s logged into the system. FYI if they chase you down begging you to sign as a private patient saying that you will recieve a better line of care itā€™s rubbish. Also everyone deserves the same care no matter public, pvt it should be all the same.

Sorry to say that my personal experience with this particular hospital wasn't pleasant at all! Unfortunately i have met the rudest doctor and nurse in my lifetime at this particular unit! It seems like they have been also purposely retaliate against the pacients! My case of treatment was under worker's compensation ( since it was a work injury case). However they still sent a 8000 dollars bill to my address after a month!

We had to spend a very touch and go night in Emergency with our 1 year old a few weeks back. Absolutely every staff member we encountered were skillful and caring. We can't thank those involved enough. I'm terribly sorry that I don't actually remember many names but from the moment care started we felt comfortable that our son was getting the care and support he needed.

I went this hospital one months ago. Very slow service for emergency department.the doctor and nurse are good but services is very slow.Even I have difficulty breathing, heaet palpitations . They still ask me to paid for them first.after even I paid more them $600 I have to wait until my symptoms is better and donā€™t need that service. I went there about 3 pm. They just service me around 8.00 pm. I think should should manage how to services more quickly because everyone that go to the hospital they really need help in that time.

Sitting waiting after day surgery, The staff are unable to discharge us because they are not sure of the procedure, the doctor has gone home, we are sitting and waiting for over an hour now. Keep hear comments ā€œWhy donā€™t they train usā€, ā€œI am not getting in trouble for doing this wrongā€. Not a single mention of the patient or concern for her wellbeing. Avoid this place if possible, patients are less important than process or covering their own backsides. This seems to be the wrong sort of culture for a hospital.

The nurses who remained amiable despite the chaos inside deserve a rating of 5 stars. However, the X-rays taken of my injury in the emergency department were not thorough enough to rule out any fractures, which led to my discharge after a long day of waiting. Unfortunately, three days later, I had to seek private treatment and discovered that I had indeed suffered a fracture. I am deeply disappointed with the hospital's misdiagnosis and the inadequate attention shown by the doctors towards patients who are not deemed high-risk. It is the responsibility of the doctors to follow up, not the nurses.

This hospital doesnā€™t even deserve a 1! My stepmother woke up with a swollen face and couldnā€™t feel the right side of her face. She waited for 6+ hours nothing not even a doctor came out yet the people after her were in and out. The lack of care there is a joke. I witnessed a doctor walking around like they had nothing to do how urgent does it have to be for someone to be seen? By the time someone actually sees you at this hospital youā€™ll be dead. Pathetic! AVOID

About 4 weeks ago I came to this hospital I was unsure how I felt based on review. I was treated with the up most respect I had doctor joe who tried to perform a d and c and nurse called Lorraine who was telling me jokes and helping me with the pain the whole time. I even was rushed outside after by the doctor to make sure the needle on my hand was taken off. I have never met a doctor and nurse like this in my life, it was the most amazing experience in terms of care, respect, compassion and professionalism!!!! Dr joe was so calm gentle and tried his best , whilst the nurse was assisting him the whole time. I was then told I needed to have a procedure and the next day for a surgery was booked. Again best doctor and nurse I have ever come across!!!!

Worst staff! visited radiology today (Friday)and the Indian lady in reception was rude as hell and looked like she didn't want to be there. Was advised to fill in forms and given about 4 forms to fill and when we took the forms back she advised she'll contact us on Monday. I said excuse me? Then she said It's the weekend and we don't open Saturday and Sunday(rudely). Then advised she'll contact us on Monday to advise when she can book us in.I asked"Do we need to make a booking? As we were advised by our specialist that we don't".Then she replied in a annoying tone"Your Doctor doesn't work here do they?" You'll need to make a booking! So rude! So I asked her"Why didn't ask if we had an appointment at the start when came up to reception before handing us the forms to fill?" She then just said the Doctors are gone after 4pm and you can try other places if you like. This person shouldn't be working in a Hospital or be near anywhere near health related work.As she clearly didn't care and just wanted to go home. 1st and last time will be visiting this Hospital.

I know ED often get criticised for things that are usually beyond their control so would like to thank Bankstown ED for their attention yesterday when my baby hurt his arm. Everyone was amazing, from cheerful and efficient reception staff, to caring triage nurses to the doctor that came out quickly to assess and treat my son so we didnt need to hang around with contagious people and gave great after care instructions, to the amazing x-ray staff. Everyone greeted him by name, made sure he was comfortable and did their jobs so well. He's happy and healed today and we appreciate you getting us in and out so quickly.

Please do not go there... Unfortunately we had have an experience with our 1st child and we pray never to go there. All we felt they just here to get pay and go home.Specially the Antenatal Reception staffs and most of the Registerd Doctots, there follow system could be a nightmare for any patients. The very 1st day we went the Doctor was not trained or bother to give a little smile with us and we felt she is interrogating us and we had to pray not to check by the same doctor each time we visited. Please do not go there unless you have your relatives works there to help you. My wife was prescribed wrong informations to take her medication even though we were keep asking to review the advise,3 months later they have felt, the information we were given is bloody incorrect.A lot to say,I wish I could expose them to media and to everyone. They definitely needs a lot of staff to work at maternity wards as some staff were working 24hours+ in a shift so we missed out the service and waited for longer then you expect. They also have some beautiful staffs Kay and Lilian at maternity and two doctors who listen to us and been supportive to help us.

Came to Bankstown "hospital" with excruciating abdominal pain. They eventuay took my vitals but left me laying on the emergency room chairs in a fetal position. Luckily I took a taxi to a neighbouring hospital and there I was quickly diagnosed with an inflamed appendix and given morphine. I was put in a bed and eventually got operated on.

Aust shouldn't force citizens to the closest hospitals, we need the choice to whichever birthing place we want - especially what happen to baby Amelia instead of Oxygen they gave her Nitrous Oxide which left her not like a normal kid. Sure it was contractor Christopher Turner's fault who plugged in the wrong gas and didn't do the checks, but ultimately ruined Bankstown Hosp namesake. BUT the hospo maintenance or medical staff should double check the gases before administering. NSW seem to have the worst hospitals

Absolute useless emergency department. They are under staffed and the staff you do get have no idea. I was discharged, and told nothing was wrong even though I was hurled over in pain. When I gave the discharge summary to my GP he was shocked. I had a major infection and all my blood test results showed that. The doctor I seen at the hospital literally said "Well you're blood tests are fine so you can leave". Do not go here if you can help it.

Health care in NSW is much appreciated but our experiences has not been the best here at Bankstown Hospital. They are slow to get you to a bed but very fast to kick you out even if you have not recovered from your problems that brought you in the first place. They wheel you out and off you go whether your family have arrived to pick you up or not. Also their discharge record keeping is a joke they called us asking about our mother and their records show she was discharged 3 days prior when in fact she was there in the hospital.

Disgusting hospital. The staff are useless, they don't listen. They ignore you. Doctors in children's area sneezed all over the table, didn't wipe it. Kids were so sick with 40+ temps and no water, no cool clothes were given. 4 hour wait to see anyone and brought in by ambulance. Besides reception staff, the place is horrific.

Emergency situations vary and after spending Friday night by my partners side after he was knocked off his cycle the chain of events in hospital care urged me to write this review. Especially after discovering his wound on his broken arm was carelessly lined with not one but two food wrappers. The bed was clearly coloured with the blood from the wound and it was never cleaned like the doctor asked several hours earlier. Discovering these wrappers on a wound that was weeping and not covered was alarming after being discharged. I waited with him through to the early hours when moved to the short stay area the level of care and attention dropped. The lovely young nurse was run off her feet and the male nurse seemed less than competent. He laughed a lot as he walked away from patients and I was alarmed when he was administering medication. Saying he was about to create a waterfall after dropping the pill into my partners mouth and almost about to pour the water from a cup when the young female nurse clearly said she was getting a straw. After all a person in a neck brace canā€™t move their head and would be a risk of choking! I raised my Voice to say she was getting a straw. I didnā€™t feel comfortable leaving and stayed as long as I could. It was a very unpleasant experience. Dr Kieran was outstanding especially after a number of young doctors etc were lacking experience. The order to administer tetanus was never written down so nurses didnā€™t know to do this. It took several requests to get this checked and finally administer the shot.

I admitted for stroke in 03/21 and was discharged 09/21. Yesterday a nurse from Dr Tabet, Endocrines department rang as to pretend they are care. The nurse names Sue, rang and she said she was new, not even read my discharged report had no idea what is the impact of stroke. I am surprised to see many quack nurses and doctors at Bankstown hospital. Try to avoid at all costs. Go to Liverpool hospital instead.

An absolute disgrace of a hospital. Such rude and horrible staff members, terrible communication. My grandma was sent there as she was in a very bad state and didn't have long left to live and we were told by the hospital that she would get a private room so that all our family that were coming from interstate as well as overseas could go in all at once and see her for her last days only to find out that they changed their minds last minute the night my grandma nearly passed away and told us only one person allowed in her room. We had been waiting outside all day wasting time when instead we could've been spending that time with our grandma. This hospital is disgusting and such a disappointment and i would never trust this place or the staff there.

I can appreciate that the system is under pressure at the moment however I went to Bankstown Hospital on Saturday evening with a violently ill infant. It took 4 hours to even get out of the waiting room and another 3 hours to see a doctor. 7 hours waiting for a doctor while your 10month old vomits bile all over the waiting room, parking lot and emergency bay when finally given a bed. Not only that but the incompetence of the nurse on duty that day was horrendous. Constantly advising she was in communication with the Pediatric Doctor on duty about how much liquid my son had to ingest, however once the doctor actually made an appearance to check on my son we were told he had almost 2 times the amount of fluid required which was why he was constantly vomiting. After being lied to, given incorrect medical advice and advised it would be best to be at home as the pediatric ward would only be able to handle my son for 2 hours we decided to leave and monitor from home. After waiting an additional 30mins and no discharge notice we ended up walking out. I will not be attending Bankstown hospital again unless it is from the back of an ambulance and I've been forced to attend.

Honestly, I can only say this hospital is a hit or miss scenario. It really comes down to the time of day, the day you come in and which medical physicians you are assigned to. Overall, I really do think they need to re-evaluate the way they conduct serivce to the community. I have witnessed many times heart patients are left in the waiting room on a waiting list.

Might as well roll over and die before seeking help from bankstown hospital. Absolutely appalling attitude from the rude, gossiping, snarky female staff that seem to be fine with passing judgements about you as a patient in front of you. Can't get any help from this place and they are very condescending and highly passive aggressive. If only they were the ones in pain trying to seek help. I would treat them the same as they have ruefully treated me.

This hospital left my client with special needs in pain for hours with a fractured arm , when they could have easily given her morphine patches for the pain while we waited to be seen. Other hospitals wouldnā€™t allow this for their patients. Disgraceful.

Absolutely rubbish that's all I can say about this hospital. Its so dirty and filthy. If I could put 0 stars I would not hesitate.I had to take a blood test and I was at Bankstown hospital for more than 4 hours and they literally didn't even give me any food.Like what do they expect? There was a fight in the car park and another one between a patient and staff. There is alot more I could say about this hospital but I rather keep it to my self. I don't recommend this hospital at all. The service is terrible and the wait is so long. This worst hospital in NSW. I feel scared going to this hospital because it's so dirty and terrible.

My family member went to this hospital. She would advise not going if you value your well-being. The staff don't appear to engage properly with patients.

I wouldnā€™t take my dog there. I was taken by ambulance and then put in to the waiting room where there was vomit left on the floor with just a sign that that cautioned that the floor is wet. There was also blood on the floor. People on drips in the waiting room. I had a severe migraine with facial tingling and numbness. An intern took me to a cubicle and conducted a ā€œneurological testā€ if you can call it that. She took me back out to the waiting room and then came out and told me to go home and that she spoke to consultant who didnā€™t even see me and wasnā€™t concerned about my symptoms and gave me a form to get an outpatient MRI. I have a history of blood clots. No blood test was conducted. I was given PANADOL for severe pain. I had taken ā€œsimple analgesia ā€œ at home which didnā€™t work and I advised them as such but they didnā€™t care. I was ignored and NEVER listened to. My concerns were completely ignored. The waiting room was busy yet there were empty spaces inside. Does management there have any idea what is happening in their hospital? If they do and theyā€™re ignoring the issues that are ongoing there itā€™s very scary.

šŸ˜  I gave birth here 3 weeks ago. From 2cm to 9cm I contracted in the hallways, waiting rooms (If I wanted to be with my partner) and in the assessment room if I wanted a bed and endone - alone, without a nurse checking in on me or offering any kind of support. My waters broke around 8-9cm, I was given...
