I used to love the San, and it used to be my family's go-to hospital. After witnessing the treatment of my Father in the ward shortly before his death, I will never go there again, and neither will my family. The ward staff I witnessed were generally indifferent and impatient towards patients living with dementia. And, no, I will not waste my time contacting your customer feedback team. How very transactional, to rebrand patients as customers.

Very well designed, clean and best hospital in Sydney to have a baby or surgery. Doctors, nurses and staff all are attentive, caring and professional. Food quality top notch - very tasty, not like other hospital blend food. Very modern, well equipped facilities. There is a pharmacy, book 📚 store, florist, hair dresser, aquarium and different places to eat. Parking always full, but you can park outside.

Really disappointing with the SAN emergency department receptionist( not Maria, she is very nice and polite)We came about 3 times in the past year for my two kids and none of the time were offered with a bed for them. Receptionist said they were busy then it’s fine we just stay out side and wait. But today it 7pm and both my 18 months boy and I were starving and I asked for something warm to eat at least for the baby. One of the receptionist told me that they are not canteen and don’t offer food to eat. Excuse me???? I have to two questions here 1. It is clearly empty in the kids room when I go pass it to the X-ray for my son but she told me no room for us. Also a mum with her baby came later then us and they got a bed. Why is that? 2. It’s 7pm and the food trolly were just parked out side with all the warm food to patients and the lady told me they don’t have food for us. Why is that? Yes she did get us some biscuits and sandwich at last after my son screaming and unsettled for food. Oh btw, the lady said I can buy from their vending machine for my baby which inside are salty chips and chocolate. Well I called the number but you know what, I was told there is no patient service team:)

The staff were very professional and efficient from the moment we arrived to discharge. The hospital is well appointed and well maintained. It feels luxurious compared to public hospitals but obviously the costs are higher. I love the spaciousness of the waiting areas and the greenery surrounding the hospital. I spent a lovely morning watching some kookaburras and cockatoos feeding and playing.while waiting. It's located in an affluent suburb and it's accessible via car or buses. Overall a very pleasant experience.

couldn't sleep due to sharp pain in my neck. got worried it might be something serious so i went to the emergency room. 5 minutes later I was told to take some aspirin. then was advised that it will be $335. if I knew the price beforehand I would have waited until morning. I was expecting $100. maybe $150. not paying that invoice.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the SAN Ultrasound for Women clinic. I was ignored by medical staff and spoken to extremely condescendingly. It was the strangest experience of my life. I can’t explain the reason for it other than because I am a male. Please remind staff that although it is all about the baby and mother, the support person should be treated with respect and empathy. They are likely to be anxious about the health of the mother and baby. What is more, the support person is likely to be critical to the well-being of the mother and child. Simple change to implement at the clinic would be to require medical staff to greet and introduce themselves to the patient AND their support person.

Thank you for your help delivering my two kids. Although they are 30 and 27 years old respectively now, it's never too late for a review. You were the Hilton Hotel of hospitals back in the 90's and you have managed to not only maintain standards, but build on your success. I had knee surgery there a couple of times over the past 6 years and was impressed with your new facilities. Continued success for the future.

Exceptional, outstanding care at every level. I can’t express my gratitude to emergency staff, doctors, specialists, wards persons and nursing staff for looking after me and/or my husband at our time of urgent need. It is obvious that they are all happy working there and that the management are looking after their teams. Bravo everyone. And I am so thrilled that my health cover are back in a relationship with this outstanding hospital. As it should be.

Illegal discrimination against legal doctors mask exemptions. Both my husband and I have legal doctors exemptions for valid health conditions and doctors reports to suport the exemption yet they refused to let me and my 2.5 year old son enter. The Emergency person wouldn't even look at the documents. They let my husband in to pick up forms and me and my son stay out in the cold freezing. Then my husband has to wait outside in the cold and in pain to be seen as wont let him inside. Disgusting! First time we came here. Extremely cruell and inhumane treatment! We decided my son and I to leave as he will get sick.

I stayed overnight at this hospital, it was a positive experience. The nurses are truly amazing and professional, I had a private room, that felt more like staying a hotel room with excellent service. The only negative, that I had to wait 4 hours for my surgery and I wasn’t updated on it, was just left on a bed for 2 hours without any communication at the pre-op space and they changed my anesthetist without any notice so I wasn’t too comfortable with what’s happening. In the end I was in good hands and they took very good care of me, and was kept comfortable.

Epitome of care and compassion! We had our baby at the SAN just recently. Their care is second to none. The midwives and all other staff are just fantastic. They know what they’re doing and make every effort to make you feel comfortable. We absolutely loved every bit of it. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are so so glad we gave birth to our first baby at the SAN. The staff have been so supportive, patient and helpful as we started our journey as parents esp with my anxieties around breastfeeding, postpartum recovery and settling our baby. They’ve proactively checked in everyday of our stay and answered questions over and over again that my frazzled baby brain couldn’t comprehend in one go. Facilities and amenities are impeccable. I am already recommending the SAN to all my friends who are planning for pregnancies. Thank you all so much!!

Absolute gold this hospital. The key differentiator is the people. The nursing staff is extremely caring. Huge shout out to Talia, Chris, Allison who went above & beyond in helping us. They demonstrated such strong work ethic, that I really appreciate. There were some more staff members who’s names I have forgotten. The birthing unit staff is absolutely wonderful. They are available for advice even after discharge. The premises are super clean & extremely considerate. Massive thanks also to Chris, the lactation consultant. Also, the staff at SAN ultrasound for Women are wonderful. Lastly, I was extremely pleased with the delicious vegetarian food served at SAN Cafe. Not to forget the courteous & hard working staff. So glad we chose this hospital. Highly highly recommend. Massive gratitude.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this lovely hospital close to where I live. The staff who work here are caring and professional and will often go the extra mile for patients. Even the medical students training to become doctors here are excellent. There was this one time my mother had a checkup at the cardiology clinic, and her carer parked somewhere without wheelchair access, I remember a kind hearted medical student named Jeremy or Jeffrey help her down several flights of stairs, and then carrying the wheelchair for us. This is just one of the many lovely experiences we had at this hospital. The buildings are nice and clean and parking is subsidised.

Feedback for staying at SAN hospital Positives  The waiting time before the surgery was no more than 1.5 hr  Nurses have positive attitude and good manners Negatives  With the cost of over 4 200$ for overnight stay it's not enough service and care (I'll expand on that below).  Attendance. I have left the hospital without staying overnight because of poor reaction and attendance to the patient's call. I was waiting for about half an hour for the nurse to attend to my call and eventually detached the dropper and other stuff from my arms and legs and went to the toilet all by myself feeling hopeless after shouting for help for at least 10 mins. After the toilet I went out to the corridor and asked someone to find my nurse. They have apologised after the incident, however I thought it might be a shortage of staff rather than a fault of the particular nurse. However when I was leaving I saw their staff room with 4-5 people chatting with each other, while there were not enough nurses in the corridor attending patients.  Kitchen staff delivering food need more training on respecting patients' privacy and learn good manners and how to be polite. Kitchen staff have never knocked the door, and was taking untouched food back without even asking if I'm going to have it later.  Coordination between staff and systems, like if nurses collecting information and aware of my dairy products intolerance, kitchen should not bring the post-op patients sandwiches with cheese and butter (in fact, there should not be sandwiches at all on "clear liquids diet")  Food quality is poor. The only thing I could eat was a cup of beef broth which was just a dissolved dry powder with beef stock flavour. Other things were coloured jelly, preserved fruit and sandwiches.  Drugs and food. One of the pain killer was prescribed to be taken after food, however there was no option for me ordering or asking for food, and all food has already been taken by a kitchen hand and I only had jelly which I couldn't eat anyway. I asked if I can have more of their "branded" beef broth and I was told that should wait till morning. So, the pain killer also couldn't be taken as well. Parking is free for the first 20 mins, it took 28 mins for us to get to the car and we paid 6 dollars for 8 minutes! What a service! Overall experience is rather negative than positive.

Bad choice coming to Sydney Adventist Hospital, emergency. After 6 days of terrifying harsh cough, I decided to go to private hospital emergency to avoid 4-5 hours of long waiting at public hospital. Although attended efficiently by triage and placed in a room at the back of the emergency department, and although chest XR and blood tests were done, it took too long (almost three hours) for doctor to come to examine me and only after my husband had complained to staff about the delay. I felt very very unwell but the doctor was only concerned that my test results "were Ok" and so I could go home. Very unhappy with experience of going to this Emergency Department.

A great hospital. The care that was given to my dad was amazing. The staff were attentive and professional. Excellent nursing:patient ratios at all times. Dr Goolam is an amazing surgeon. An extra special thank you to Phylis at the pre-op clinic. Your warmth and attentiveness did so much to alleviate pre-op anxiety. Give her a raise!

My wife and I we're very happy with the hospital as it was our first time and experience at the hospital and facility. It was very clean, happy to abide the covid rules as safety was one of our concerns. The staff, nurses, midwives, doctors and administration staff presented great service and had the best interest of my wife giving birth c-section and allowing us to have a beautiful baby girl.

Emergency Department service is absolutely bad. The man wearing a headscarf in the front desk in emergency department is very bad. Most of the nurses both in emergency and hospital section does not have a good service attitude either, the most important thing is that the doctors lack of knowledges, all they can say is I guess..., I think..., you can discharge and go home to see your GP... wasting a lot money and time there without knowing the causes, So disappointed. Not worth paying to go here at all.

Over the past 30 years, I've witnessed countless advancements within Sydney Adventist Hospital, culminating in its current position as one of the nation's premier healthcare institutions. One word encapsulates my experience: exceptional. This exceptional quality manifests at every patient touch point, integrated into the very essence of staff and specialist interaction. The onboarding process exemplifies meticulous care. Pre-admission flows smoothly, and the expertise of surgeon(s), anesthetist, nurses, and every support staff, volunteers, member, from food deliverers to trolley personnel, demonstrate this caring approach. Each individual embodies the same compassionate attitude, an invaluable element of true excellence. Achieving this level of excellence is no easy feat. The dedication of executives and staff doctors is evident in every aspect of the hospital, a testament to their focused efforts. As Sydney residents, we are fortunate to have such an exceptional institution gracing our city.

Kind staff and nice views from the windows. Modern hospital with modern equipment. Even has a cafe you can go to! (this is a private hospital however so it's more expensive than public) We were told that we were going to have a day surgery but we ended up being told to stay overnight... they probably had reasons for that though Great hospital overall, would recommend!!

The Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga operates as a private healthcare facility. It offers an experience akin to a luxurious hotel, albeit with a bit more discomfort, given the nature of medical procedures ;) I recently had the privilege of staying at the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga for a hernia operation. I can't express enough how impressed I am with the entire experience. From the moment I walked through the doors to the moment I left, the level of care and compassion I received was excellent. All the staff I had went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. No question was too small, and they took the time to explain everything to me in a way I could understand. The cleanliness and organization of the hospital is top-notch. The technology and equipment at SAN is cutting-edge. The cozy and private rooms were relaxing, and the nutritious and delicious meals were above the norm. They honestly thought of everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible. In conclusion, my experience at the SAN was excellent. They turned what could have been a challenging time into a positive and reassuring experience. I recommend this hospital and give them five stars.

I don't take kindly to being admitted to a hospital but after a 5 day visit a week go I have to say there could be no better place to go when you require urgent treatment. The emergency team, in the dim dark hours, were as good as the profession could produce. The attending doctor displayed a level of talent, ability and care greater than any I had previously experienced in my 87 years. In the wards the nursing sraff,, without exception, could not be faulted. They were the best example of a successful integration of people of mixed ethnic backgrounds, age and sex you will come across. My only concern with this and other hospitals is that more than a couple of days of the inactivity due to being confined to a bed plays hell with ones physical condition .

Threatened to force me to stay under the mental health Act and only when I made a fuss admitted they were unable to find anything to base their threats on. Never received an apology despite making a formal complaint.and food was terrible. The worst private hospital I have used and will never be back again. Was put on a low potassium diet and when my food arrived each day it regularly included food I was told I could not eat so obviously poor communication between the kitchen and the medical staff. Now almost 12 months after leaving the hospital I received a new bill for an ECG as an outpatient?

The San cared for a friend until the end and for that I am grateful. The good name of this hospital is well known around Sydney; unlike Prince of Wales Private who, a few years ago, had an anaethetist that in my view, was incapable of delivering basic standards of competent, safe care. Hopefully he isn't still there.

This is without doubt the best run hospital I have ever attended. The thought and care that has gone into every aspect of this hospital makes it a step above the rest. The care and dedication of the doctors, nurses and support staff made my husbands stay something I will always remember and tell others about. Professor Tristan Yan is an incredible talent and asset to this hospital. The dedication and talent displayed for someone so young is simply inspiring. The patience and time both he and Clare took to explain all aspects of what was about to happen will never be forgotten by us. Words can’t describe the gratitude our family has towards Clare who supported us every step of the way. You both treated us like family. You bring new meaning to working as a team. Thankyou :))

I had the worst hospital experience in SAH, I had a surgery and I was happy with medical service at the theatre, however the care I received after surgery it was awful. I pressed the nurse assist button after surgery but no one came, after 30 minutes I asked my friend to go find some one to help but no one was there, not in the nurse station not in the whole department. After one hour someone came from another department said nurses were busy with some other patients, if you wait, they will come!!! So what if something emergency would happened to me????. They are clearly understaffed and it may cause serious damage for patients specifically after surgery who everyone need more care

Undergoing a major surgery is never going to be a luxury escape, but I tell you what the SAN “Resort” – as I call it – is the medical equivalent of fine dining and first class service. My initial surgical break was scheduled for 8 days but the care I received on Level 9 of the Clark building had me home in 5! The nursing staff were far better than any Michelin rated maitre de. From pre-admission to discharge the nursing and support staff were attentive, clear headed and on top of their game. It was a busy ward too, especially at night with only 1 nurse for 10 patients (Yeah, management need to look into that), my medication, observations, and general care was undertaken with good grace and on time. I’m not embarrassed to say things got a little messy right after surgery, but they were on it without complaint. The Physio and Pain Teams were on point! When I got around to being able to eat, the food was good. My family also said the staff at the cafés were exceptionally nice too. So, resort style service all round! Shout out to nurses Dave, Michaela, Alex, Kate, Florence, Murna, Katie and Allyssa – as well as anyone I might have missed. Level 9 Clark Wing rock.

Best hospital in NSW hands down. You are looked at holistically, instead of the, 'lets do one issue per admission'. I thank the good Lord for the SANS. The Doctor's don't mind being challenged, and the nurses are compassionate and empathetic. ❤️

Emergency is super bad … if you have to go emergencies please go to public hospital, much quicker than this private hospital , we are waiting for 4 hours still not anyone to see us . … ask reception, the answer is : we are super busy , i can’t tell you how long you will to wait …. Perfect… nice answer….if we are not hurry up to see the doctor we won’t come to emergency….. next time I will save money go to public, much better

The worst hospital experience we've ever had. Please choose another hospital to go to if you can. The most stingy hospital as well. They do anything to cut cost. Staff halved the patient's medication on the side table in front of my eyes! I have so many other examples as well. Never have I ever seen this low quality care.

I had an exceptional experience having my first baby here. Having been a “San baby” myself, it was wonderful to return to have my own baby. I had a planned caesarean, which all went incredibly smoothly from start to finish. We loved our midwives (though be prepared to have many of them pass through during a 5 night stay!). The night nursery was a godsend for us, which we utilised on the last night to ensure we left the hospital with a decent sleep under our belt. The only “negative” to mention is the daybed for partners to stay overnight on is not designed for those of above-average height. My husband is broad and 6’5” and really struggled. Regardless, we’d definitely return for any future babies. Hopefully by then they have bigger daybeds!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at the San. We went to 4 different emergencies before we came here and there was around a 6 hour wait at each one that just palmed us off to other hospitals because their trauma list was so long. There were 39 patients on the waiting list in front of us at Gosford hospital but they said to come here as there would be a shorter que time and not as busy. The moment we arrived we could clearly tell the difference between the other hospitals to the San. We walked straight into emergency and there wasn't a single other person in the waiting room and we got seen straight away. From this point on all services were almost immediate and from walking into emergency at around 8:00am, we were then given a time of surgery at around 12:00 noon. The staff were very caring and supportive and overall the best hospital I have ever visited. Thanks again, Leslie (LJ)

Buyer Beware! In preparation for surgery, initially San couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me how much the pathology and ECG would leave me out of pocket. (In the end I cancelled the surgery, as there were too many unanswered questions, sought a second and third opinion, both these agreed the surgery was not medically necessary as there are other treatment options that should have been tried first.) So my warning to all is be aware of ALL hospital on-costs that are not covered by either your health fund nor Medicare. It is quite a mine-field to navigate! If you don't know, make it your business to find out. At the end of the day, it is your body and your life they are messing with. I actually found the staff at the SAN admissions quite dismissive of my concerns. Keep asking until you receive an answer. I had to ask FOUR times and only got an answer after an escalation to management. It would have been so much easier and less stressful for everyone if they were forthcoming with the information they already had at their finger-tips.

My 99 year old , war veteran dad had a good stay in hospital last week. The staff and Dr Illes were kind to him and did their very best for him. They let us stay with him much of the time, which was good because he is legally blind. Christine, a nurse from Coronary Care, chased us out twice as we left, with our phone charger and then the cardiac monitor box we had left behind in the room. That was very good of her.

The emergency unit is fantastic especially with children! We have taken our son to the emergency a few times now and they are so attentive and made him feel so comfortable, he was also seen in reasonable timing considering how busy they get! Highly recommend their emergency unit over other private hospitals!!

What a fabulous hospital. I had day surgery and I could not fault anything. The specialist was so caring, informative who explained everything in detail before and after the procedure. The anaesthetist was exceptional. He was lovely and friendly. Also very informative before and after and whatever he gave me was amazing. I have never felt better after previous surgeries. No nausea, vomiting or feeling off. The nursing staff went above and beyond and considering all this covid 19, I take my hat off to them. They were wonderful and friendly too. Thoroughly recommend the SAN. Thank you so much for the great care given especially in these trying times.

To the wonderful lady in sleep study, Danielle. Thankyou so much for your caring, welcoming and professional way you took care of my daughter and me during the Sleep study. It just so happened that during the Sleep study, my daughter had an emergency and your brilliant knowledge got her the emergency care so quickly. I can't thank you enough for all you did. You are a gem and a value to the hospital and I wanted you and your employer to know that. Also, thankyou to the emergency staff and the ward staff in the childrens ward. You should all get a gold medal.

The reception staff in the emergency department are the rudest, most condescending, unfriendly hospital staff I have ever come across. It is very obvious that they are dollar driven and have very poor people skills. I certainly DO NOT recommend dealing with them

Agree with Carmen. Bad advice, incompetent, dangerous. 1. Dad went in as Heart patient promised 98% success. What he wasn't told was that the RECOVERY is far worse by age. He suffered a brain stem stroke that cut out his throat and part of his stomach. Even with the "nil by mouth" he was still fed with food by the incompetent staff resulting in lung issues, 4 tubes down his nose and coughing up flem for the rest of his 20 day life. (he was a meat eater, but I believe the sudden change of diet to hospital mandated vegetarianism contributed to his death) 2. While recovering, a group of trainee staff came through the ICU.. THe doc in charge opened dad's curtain without getting permission and started talking to the students. One of the students had an OBVIOUS very bad cold - sniffling, using tissues etc (IN AN ICU? SERIOUSLY??). My brother witnessed this as told to doc to F-off. 3. OH and also, they do 2 for the price of one, and the other patient also died. 4. NOTE: My Mother got a call from the Doctors office weeks later asking to book her dead husband into a post operative checkup. What do they say? "If you want to die contributing to science, go to a Private hospital" If you want to live, go to a Public hospital.

A high quality, private hospital. I was admitted for robotic surgery and stayed for one night. Doctors, nurses and staff are all very professional, attentive and caring. I would recommend this hospital to anyone seeking health care of a high standard. Special thanks to Dr Yogesh Nikam (surgeon) and Dr Cesar Fernandez-Cornejo (anaesthetist).

We were very impressed with the high standard of care received at the SAN. Thank you to all the staff, nursing, admin and catering for their friendly, helpful and caring ways. A big thank you to my cardiologist Dr Grant Shalaby. Apart from taking very good care of me at the SAN, he is greatly appreciated for his efforts above and beyond the call, travelling to Dubbo to care for us country folk. Having come from the country we had some concerns about finding our way around, and with things like parking and accommodation. However we found at the SAN it could not have been easier! The onsite accommodation at Jacaranda Lodge, where the staff was always friendly and helpful, was a real bonus. Allowing for us to stay nearby before the op and for my wife to stay and not have to leave and return to the hospital from outside accommodation, made things so much easier. All at very reasonable rates. All hospitals should be modeled on the SAN.

We just had our baby at the SAN and the whole experience was amazing. Nice room with a view, great facilities. The hospital staff is the highlight, we had many different staff/nurses/midwives throughout our stay but everyone was absolutely lovely, so caring, attentive and professional. The night nursery was a bonus, so we could catch up on some sleep. Surprisingly the food was really tasty, we could choose from daily menu. We didnt feel like we stayed in a hospital at all.

Was recently admitted to The San for some Cardio work. The whole experience was incredibly thorough, caring and professional, from the management of the Cardio ward through to the quality of the facilities. The nursing staff in particular were outstanding - going above and beyond at every opportunity. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful. I just had my second baby at The SAN, and have been blown away by how amazing and attentive the staff are. My first was at another hospital, so I do have something to compare to; and I would choose The SAN any day of the week. They are organised, the rooms are lovely, but it's the staff that really stand out. Kind, caring and friendly... I didn't come across a single staff member who wasn't wonderful. Thank you for making our experience such a good one!

I dislocated my shoulder and spent over six hours in ER with no pain relief. I was put in a back room where the buzzer didn’t work and basically forgotten. Until my husband demanded attention because they hadn’t put it back the first time I was still basically screaming in pain but nobody cared. If ever I go to hospital again (definitely not the San), I’m going to scream like a man to get pain relief because they obviously think women don’t need it. I guess being a religious hospital they feel that women should suffer more. It took them two goes to get my shoulder back in and it was only then I was offered any pain relief. But by that stage I had no pain because it was back in. I then was talked into staying overnight. I was not offered any food or drink. Nothing…. The orthopaedic surgeon visited me at 6 am for three minutes the next day and charged me $136! Don’t get me started on my elderly father going there (Took him three days to be admitted from ER to a room ), there is a Dr who apparently visits at 5:30 in the morning and it confuses him he thinks he’s dreaming. When I visited I didn’t see a nurse to check on him. Cushy job if you can get it working there. Go to a public hospital and save your money. * thanks for your computer generated reply - what’s the use complaining, it’s done now, you’ve got your money. I’ll know better next time. Especially screaming like a man for pain relief. I only found out recently woman’s pain is dismissed & are offered much less pain relief than men. How would you like to have a dislocated shoulder for 6+ hours with no pain relief?* .

It sounds funny to leave a review for a hospital but as I always say, give credit where credits due. Overall the stay was almost perfection, but just some imperfections that holds my 5th star back. We had our 2nd baby here at the SANs and we were so fortunate to have team Michelle guiding us through the journey both at labour ward and just general maternity ward for the days after. Michelle in Labour ward was with us through the entire journey and was just supportive through our. From the personal massages to her own home made essential oils or cream, she was there just the moment the Mrs needed her. She made the environment so welcoming that it will be wrong for us to not recommend her! In particular, as my wife kept saying, given she went natural with just gas, it would not have been possible if it wasn’t Michelle being there for her! Then we moved into the ward for recovery and we met another Michelle, there Michelle was just friendly and caring almost like a mother. She was attentive and was willing to answer any questions that we felt we were right at home. At one point overnight, we saw Michelle patiently feeding and burping our baby and changing her outside so that we can continue to sleep. The way she held her just let us know that she really cares about the babies she look after and for that we are most grateful. Finally on the day we left we had Karen briefly. We didn’t get a chance to interact with Karen much but she certainly was patient with us. She went through many different aspects of baby care with us and we spent so long chatting that we actually wondered how can she spend that long with us, surely she had other patients too. But her dedication we appreciated and that time we got to chat made a lot of difference for us to our confidence level as we go home. All in all, we had a great experience - we weren’t in the Swaddle program so essentially had to pay for everything and this is where I think SAN could have done better and I will be a bit more critical of the paying experience: - Little things like meals for partners. While partners are allowed to stay, they weren’t given food. - Complimentary parking. If we are already spending thousands and thousands with you guys. Why not include parking instead of charging the extra $48. - (Imagine how much it would have changed your NPS for little gestures like food and parking - always the little things!) - We pre booked in advance yet there’s still no double bed, and while we were promised a swap on day 1, it never happened even though beds were available. I am more than happy to stay on couch, but I think a promise is a promise. - Inconsistent advice. Whether it was across midwives or doctors, now and then we come across very inconsistent advises. Thank you SAN. All in all - we recommend this place for sure. And I think anyone should consider this place especially if you are part of the swaddle program! And if you are just planning and haven’t gotten pregnant yet, maybe worth checking out the swaddle program and see if you can get yourself in it in time!

The Swaddle program was incredible. I just wanted to publicly thank everyone from our wonderful OB Ellie Bailey, to the nurses and midwives - Sue, Louise, Mandy , Emma, Emily and many more. Our lactation expert Christina - To say they all put our minds at ease, were attentive, patient and so lovely is an understatement. We are here on day 4 of our stay after giving birth to our son and i cant get used to the level of care and attention. A sincere thankyou to everyone at the hospital for making this experience so warm and wonderful.

This is not the first positive review I have written about the SAH. We had to take our child to the emergency department and we chose the SAH because of the doctors and nurses are fantastic. Our child was seen straight away (knowing that being a private emergency department a fee has to be paid) and the medical staff were very knowledgeable and caring. Our child was initially was scared of going to emergency but ended up enjoying his visit. Nurse John and Dr Max on duty on 26 March night shift were wonderful!

I was so disappointed with my 2 day stay at The San. I was left for 5 hrs in pre-op with no info on when I would go in for surgery. When I arrived in my room post op, I was parked no where near my bag which was hard to get to after bilateral hernia repair. I vomited on the floor due to the oxycodone while trying to get to the toilet. It was left on the floor, with nothing to cover it but a towel, til I left at noon the following day when I checked out. The night nurse was very brisk and did the bare minimum when I asked him to help me to the toilet. The food was awful. I couldn’t wait to get home. My surgeon and the anaesthetist were great but the stay was terrible. It’s a beautiful hospital but the staffing issues ensure I will never go there again. HCF is being charged $3716 for that which also makes me angry. Regards, Karen L Dwyer

For a first time mum, the kindness and care from all staff really touched my heart. The birthing unit and maternity ward nurses and midwives were absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and supportive. Wide variety when it came to food selection. Ample parking. What can I say? The list goes on.

We had our baby at the San and we can't rate the maternity ward and staff highly enough. Our baby spent a couple of nights in the special care unit and the nurses were incredible in spending time with us answering questions and giving practical advice with bubba. All the nurses across the shifts that I encountered were lovely and happy to help. We could've chosen to go to the public hospital 5mins from home but we are so glad we chose the San instead for our beautiful birthing experience. Thank you for caring for our little peanut.

Had a lovely experience in the Emergency Department here at Sydney Adventist Hospital. Came in super stressed and anxious about my father at 5 AM but they were so sweet and accommodating. They immediately took us in, we hardly waited 5-10 minutes. Our receptionist was kind enough to offer us tea and coffee while we waited and my father and mother had an excellent experience with Dr. Aiman. 10/10 service 10/10 speed 10/10 cleanliness

It is no exaggeration to say the early parenting centre at this place changed our lives. We had a wonderful experience at the Early Parenting Centre at Figtree Private late last year. i unfortunately had a kidney infection and appendicitis within 6 months of eachother and spent a weekend in the hospital for both. the staff were so incredibly lovely, even when i was sick and vomiting in the middle of the night. they were so caring and accommodating. when i was going in for surgery, i was in a lot of pain from appendicitis, but all of the doctors around me made me feel much more comfortable and secure before and after surgery. love this place.

I had a very good experience at the Sydney Adventist Hospital for a routine procedure. The medical staff were excellent and nurses were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up having to stay the night unexpectedly and had very good care. I want to single out nurses Ethan on level 12, Ping (in recovery) and Helen in the day surgery centre for special praise. Thank you for your professionalism and kindness.

I will definitely be choosing the Sans Adventist Hospital for any future hospital stays. Thank you again 😊

I would like to start by acknowledging the tremendous work that the midwives and nurses do at the Hospital. Their dedication to patient care is exceptional and we could not fault their service. Overall our experience at the hospital was marred by an Obstetrician who failed to administer adequate patient care. Post delivery, we transitioned to a new Obstetrician due to the subpar care provided by the previous one. The hospital completed a risk assessment on this Obstetrician and advised they would undertake a structured investigation. Unfortunately, the investigation left us extremely underwhelmed, raising serious questions about investigation standards A number of critical points in our submission were not investigated. The dismissal of critical allegations solely based on the Obstetrician's responsibility for clinical management whilst at the hospital is concerning and highlights a lack of risk management appreciation for hospital exposure. Our experience with the Obstetrician involved a number of incidents from inappropriate footwear in the delivery room to a lack of aftercare post delivery. Dissolvable stitching around the vaginal region gave way creating pain, distress and continuous bleeding. We were required to give consent to a nurse to use the Ward's phone to take footage of the vaginal region in an attempt to coerce the Obstetrician to visit my wife in hospital and administer patient care. The Obstetrician even went on vacation without notifying us and failed to chart medication which our new Obstetrician had to manage, and more. This was an incredibly traumatic experience. The response from the hospital lacks clarity on disciplinary actions taken against the Obstetrician. The hospital has also refused to share with us the investigation report summarising findings, root cause analysis, risk assessments and actions against the Obstetrician. This is concerning to say the least as we have every right to request a copy of this report as it directly pertains to our experience and submission. The disappointing outcome of this investigation not only leaves us disheartened but also takes away from the real heroes - our new Obstetrician, midwives and nurses who consistently went above and beyond to administer care. We hope that the hospital takes these concerns seriously and takes concrete steps to ensure that patient care remains a top priority, as it should be. Patient care should be treated with genuine seriousness and not merely reduced to a couple of words listed in frameworks or key documents to create an illusion of being a core value. In summary, we have mixed feelings about our experience at the hospital, with immense gratitude for the real heroes (new Obstetrician, midwives and nurses), but a profound disappointment with the handling of our case involving the Obstetrician. The investigation appears to have overlooked key witnesses fostering a disconnect between the acceptable standards for patient care as perceived by the investigation team versus frontline staff. The pursuit of justice will persist until a satisfactory resolution is attained.
