Main issue with this hospital is the food they provide to the patients. breakfast, lunch & dinner. it has been a major issue for a long time and they still haven't fixed it. i really cant believe it is actually a private hospital. the food is very low quality uneatable. my mother stayed here and i had to bring her food from outside most days. complaint was made they did fix the quality of the food for 1-2 days then returned back to bad food. so its very interesting it can be done but they dont. the physio department were very helpful in her rehab and would be the main highlight only being a positive for this hospital. all other treatment was good but average. the hospital is old and has a depressing look & feel. needs a renovation to create a happy peaceful environment for their patients and people visiting. currently does not have a private hospital look. hospital needs a full review from consultants. thank you for reading my experience.

This is on behalf of my mum who had hip surgery. She got a cocktail of medication one for pain which was too strong for her and made her feel sick , one to stop her feeling sick as she couldnt keep anything down. Then they were giving her more medication to make her go to the toilet. All contradicting to one another and it made her extremely unwell. Also after leaving she was given a pack of medication 4 different types for another patient. As my mum is elderly she didn’t realise the medication wasn’t for her. We didn’t bother saying anything at the time as we were more concerned about my mums declining health. The medication was for heartburn and blood pressure etc which she has never suffered from and lucky she didn’t have any side effects from this as I spotted it a day after she got home so she had only been taking it for a day. Was not impressed with the staff as they were always standing around chatting when my mum needed assistance to go to the toilet she had to hold on and listening to them just talking about their private life while my mum waited to be take to the toilet was very upsetting.

I unfortunately had to stay at the mental health facility at the Hills Private hospital at Baulkham Hills but I could not speak more highly of the staff at the unit. The doctors, the nurse , the councillors and the kitchen and cleaning staff. They are all wonderful caring people. Nothing is a chore for them and they do everything with a smile on their face. My experience at the unit at a very low point in my life was very possitive and the programme was great.

I tried to book an appointment over a week ago after getting a referral to this place specifically, could never get anyone to reply and left multiple messages. I eventually got a call back and was told I either was lying about attempting to call or that i was too difficult to understand as a reason for not being able to get in touch with the practice. i was then told I would not be able to book with a doctor because he doesn't specialise in ADHD even though I do not have ADHD and it was never mentioned as a possibility. The woman on the phone was rude and extremely snappy but I managed to book an appointment, I do not normally write reviews but considering this is a place that specialises in dealing with mental health I found this extremely disheartening and is making me question whether going to this appointment at this practice is going to be beneficial. I hope this experience can give insight and improve for future patients.

This place is neat and clean but very average for a private hospital. The food is not great. The staff are all very friendly and kind but not very nurturing.

A family member has been in here' for a month or so.. The atmosphere I got when I walked in was bland. Boring. And lifeless. This needs to change and the residents should be made to feel welcome .. ... while most of the nurses were lovely with my family member.. they were never on time giving meds etc and family member had to chase them down for things .this is not all nurses. The house dr is a complete bleep.. I feel he is only there for a paycheck. He even sent family member home with incorrect meds. And or wrong forms not signed so they can't get meds for another day or so .he just walked around in a daze and wasn't on top of patient care at all. He really needs to be replaced asap before something serious happens. From what I saw the food was ok. Still could be improved The cafe at there wqs extremely pricey.. the sofr drinks they sold us were off on both occasions we bought there.. also the croissant made family member sick For a private hospital that people pay for i would not reccomend this place sorry .esp with the stupid house dr there. Please replace him with a Dr that actually cares and visits patients daily

The nurse's preferred to spend time talking with each other and there is a huge floor to ceiling partition whilst you the paying customers are trying to talk with them. They look you in like your a criminal. Protecting the rest of the hospital from the mental health patients. You are forced to go to programs when you'd be better served filling out your journal because the most vocal in the group were those recovering from addiction and they automatically had something in common with each other, whereas those dealing with trauma were sometimes re-traumatized. Who wants to go for a walk with a group of people up the main road of Baulkham Hills with a group of people for the whole world to see? I was so ill from the medication they gave me and was still made to attend classes even though I complained about how ill I was feeling. They just ignored it and the fact that I'd recently had my bowel removed. Later when I decided I was in the process of discharging myself tried to talk me into staying after the blood test's had shown that I really was ill.

i am writing this review on behalf a family member who was an amputee and attended your hospital last week. our experience for one day was horrendous and we would not recommend this facility to anyone especially amputees as they do not have the right equipment not the right staff or physio's/OT's to cater for amputees. the lack of staff/physio's sees that they do not spend 1 on 1 only group rehab/physio and spending more time with the elderly and no time with the amputees. at the rate of service for recovery the time for an amputee would take a considerable amount more than usual to recover and get back on their feet. an experience with a wheelchair saw that the double amputee nearly fell off the chair due to lack of brakes (no brakes) whilst getting into bed as we were not informed. the bed was also very old that it was unsuitable for amputees. there was also a large gap and the amputee nearly fell over and also lack of air conditioning in the building. last but not least the food was a joke as you couldn't even feed it to your dog. the food was dry and stale and could not be eaten. the amount of money you spend for rehab we advise people to save your money and go elsewhere. the staff at this facility were also very rude and dry especially the head nursing manager liz. she has zero respect and not passionate about her job dealing with us. she just wasn't very welcoming it was hell there. we left immediately.

My father has been discrimated for who he is and humiliated by staff, especially the food management. For a hospital that is supposed to take care of patients who undergo rehabilitation, they poorly took care of my dad and barely attended to his needs. Staff was not compassionate, not to mention the reoccurrence of poor quality food given to him. As it is a private hospital, the least you would expect for them is to NOT give their patients stale and mouldy food and attend to their dietary requirements, my father did not eat for several days due to this! Furthermore the staff failed to correctly write his medical discharge summary. Would not recommend to any one. I feel bad for the many patients who aren’t able to speak up about the poor management and the mistreatment by the staff and managers.

Over the past 3 years I have unfortunately had to have 3 extended hospital admissions. My work has also involved visiting many other hospitals both public and private. My recent stay at this hospital will be memorable for all the right reasons. My journey started by being transferred from another hospital by John, the Hills patient transfer driver who was very friendly and professional in my transfer. Then I was met by Rob at reception for the obligatory paperwork. Rob is something of a legend. Having had previous admissions here I was pleased to see him again. He has a great skill in making people welcome and giving them assurance they are in good hands. Every staff encounter I had was positive. Doctor Nario looked after me last year with my orthopaedic rehabilitation and again now with my cardiac rehabilitation. He listens intently, explains information in a way that is clear and ensures that no questions go unanswered. The nurses, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists were all compassionate and competent. They helped me from striving too hard to get back to normal living. The cleaners and meal service people had a genuine warmth about them that whilst it was a brief interaction you knew that they enjoyed what they did and were pleased to help make my stay a pleasant one. The food was excellent. The soups were clearly made in house and were delightful. The main meals fresh, flavoursome and well cooked. Too often I have had hospital food that was bland or undercooked, not here. The quantity of the food was more than enough and I never ordered the large meals because I could never have eaten that much. My road to recovery has had some bumps and will continue on for many, many months. I know for a fact though that my time at Hills private as an inpatient and soon outpatient has laid a critical foundation of recovery that will make that road more effective and pleasant. I highly recommend this hospital to those with high expectations.

dont really deserve a star alot of the private sector hospital drs n Nursing staff of scope are not following policy n procedure and are being paid triple $$$$$$ for patients who land back in hospital. They are discharging people who are community nursing patients who dont have supports on a friday afternoon and they dont check things properly. Un believeable. Private system need to pull their socks up and improve big time in this area. I hope the nsw Obudsmen gets this info and i hope the books chucked at them. I have had to pet talk staff at several private sectors. Im not sure why its the private sector who are doing this and not the Public sector isnt strange.

To anyone thinking of coming to this hospital DON'T. Nursing staff are excellent, physio average. Food is disgusting this is second time ive been here in 2 years. I complained to Marie the kitchen manager last time i was here she told me that everyone is happy with the food until i got other patients for their opinion and they agreed with me. Her reply then was she would look into it. I am here again nothing has changed.Food is very important for nutrition when you're recovering from sickness. Just because a majority of patients are elderly its no excuse to feed them rubbish because they dont complain. The saying out of sight out of mind doesn't go well with me.I will NEVER come here again. I will not let thi one slide . For a Private hospital its disgusting at over $1000 a day they could do much better 😤

Hi all, I’d like to tell you about my experience thus far with hills private. I suffer from some sort of mental illness which has yet to be diagnosed by Dr Susheel Manambrakkat. I have a referral from my GP for a consultation (sent through to their fax last Thursday 24/09/2020. I called on Monday 28/09/2020 morning to confirm with Tania a receptionist and confirmed that my referral was received and that it would be processed. Today it is 1/10/2020 and when I called up the paperwork has gone missing. I told Tania that I called on Monday to confirm and she said she would call me back later. 10 mins later I get a call from Tania telling me that the paperwork has not been received and needs to be faxed through by my GP. So I’ve now sent the fax again via an app I downloaded as I don’t own a fax machine. Thanks for keeping me waiting and telling me you had my file when you actually didn’t. Nothing against the doc but the receptionist need to take greater care with patient documents, especially since it contains sensitive information. I hope no one else has to deal with this sort of run around from them.

Absolute amazing experience. I owe it to all the wonderful staff at North Wing. It may seem like an old facility from the outside. However inside, consists of the most amazing, knowledgeable, helpful, caring, compassionate and extremely dedicated team. The nurses, admin and management team, cleaning and kitchen staff, doctors and the physiotherapist and occupational therapist teams are the most down to earth and passionate people, creating a family like experience 100% dedicated to your recovery. I had an extremely traumatic accident and was an in patient for 4 months. With all my additional treatment and special care I not once felt like a burden. My care felt like it was always priority, even with a hospital full of patients. My recovery and progress is a compliment to all the staff involved at Hills Private, especially the North Wing team who are lead by the most experienced and knowledgeable NUM. I’ve made true friends during my stay and all the nurses always show great concern for your recovery. The food is delicious with a great variety and the facility offers all required treatments rooms to ensure your convenience. I would without a single hesitation recommend the Hills Private Hospital to anyone requiring rehab, with plenty of parking available to visitors. Thank you again to all involved in my recovery at Hills Private, I’m so grateful to have picked this as my rehab facility.

The nurses and other inpatients were nothing but wonderful, welcoming and supportive. It made what should have been an extremely difficult time quite easy. I have endless gratitude for everyone here who supported me through my journey, and to my caring and intelligent psychiatrist dr Benjamin. Thank you so much for your help! I highly recommend the hills if you are struggling with addiction or mental health.

I recently completed the 21 day program. It was life changing and has given me the tools and confidence to crush life. I can't speak highly enough of the treatment. The staff and facilities are 5 star (not literally). If you are genuinely keen to better your mental health, I can't recommend this hospital enough. The food is fantastic and plentiful. The doctors, nurses, counselors and social workers are phenomenal. The facilities are good, a little bare, but better than I expected. I spoke to other patients who had been in for treatment at multiple units around NSW and they all said that this was the best. I wouldn't recommend this program to anyone who is not serious about changing their life as there is a certain amount of self accountability needed to complete the program successfully. It is not a boot camp style program and you will be required to put as much effort into the program as you hope to get out. Special shout out to Naleen and Grant for making me feel at home and even following up with me after the program to check on my progress. No other option, but to give this review 5 stars.

Although the facilities were very clean, I was disappointed about the lack of communication with the doctors and my youngest son who is very ill. It was also a very long wait time. It is a private hospital, so be prepared to pay.

The Hills private hospital in Baulkham Hills is a warm and inviting complex. It contains a rehabilitation facility as well as the Windsor rd clinic. There is no emergency department here. The nearest is Norwest which is also private, otherwise Blacktown Hospital is the nearest public hospital. Access to the hospital is from Windsor road, and parking is very reasonable at $10. There are shops close by and a coffee can that stops by twice daily.

as a patient with cptsd, I had to quit 3 days into this 21 day program because these group sessions in the program would have made me more distressed. When they offered me the alternative of a 30min-1hr counselling I felt quite flabbergasted as I’d be spending the rest of my day stressing out either in my room or tweaking out and feeling worse during a group activity hearing from other patients. If you have cptsd, don’t go. The councillor was also a little condescending and pretty much told me to go to a public system as they couldn’t help. If this group therapy stuff helps you, fantastic good for you. If you’re like me, do yourself some self care and not self harm by not going here.

I have tried numerous times to contact someone from this Hospital without any result. I just spoke to Lindal at the reception via a phone call and the experience was very unhelpful and rude to say the least. I think The Hills Private Hospital needs to rethink who they have as the face of their organisation.

I had a stay at Windsor Rd Clinic recently, having also stayed 4 or so years ago. The good news! With reference to previous reviews the food has vastly improved. Not only are portion sizes and choices larger, they provide snacks like muesli bars and cheese and crackers in the kitchenette. There is also a food vending machine in the dining room now. The group program is excellent and the counsellors/ group facilitators are of a much higher quality than previously. Carmelina was faultless in her knowledge and delivery in the groups and Jillian was so sincere and responsive to individual and group needs. I feel though that there needs to be improvement in terms of the amount of time nurses spend one on one with the patients. I didn't have any one on one with a nurse in my room where we both sat down after my initial 'nursing admission'. I think the whole idea of primary nurse and secondary nurse for the entire admission is to be done away with as both could be away on any given shift. Patients should be allocated to nurses at the beginning of each new shift and nurses should be expected to sit down and chat with each of their allocated patients. I have lovely memories of this happening four years ago and don't know why it has stopped.

I stayed at Hills in June 2021 in the middle of Covid. I was so impressed by the management pitching in - making beds, delivering meals, organising activities, visiting patients and apologising for the massive staff shortages. I will be going in again for knee rehab this week and hope to see some familiar faces.

Personally I can't speak highly enough about this place. The treatment I received was second to none. The staff are brilliant, helpful and caring... From the first day to the day I left they couldn't do enough to make me comfortable and administer pain relief as it was needed. The facilities are amazing. Especially the hydro pool and gym. I spent three weeks here after major back surgery, I came in a wheel chair, not been able to Walk, and left on crutches. Olivia, Christine, Rachel, Angela,Kim and all her physios got me back on my feet in quick time. Not to forget the nurses. Amazing staff, really passionate about their job and the patients they look after. I Couldn't recommend the hills private hospital highly enough, Pity there's not more than a 5 star option. Thank you so much for your help and understanding and getting me well on the road to recovery.. It's very much appreciated by myself and my family

This post contains 2 separate reviews. The first one is from March 2020 and the second is from October/November 2020. My Dad stayed at the hospital on two different occasions. * March 2020* My elderly father has been in Hills Community Hospital for nearly 4 weeks. My Mum and whole family could not be happier with the level of care he received. Literally everyone has shown such kindness and compassion toward my father, from the nurses and nurse’s assistants to the cleaners who cheerily came in daily to make his room sparkling. Actually, the kindness started with John, the patient transfer person from Hills Private Hospital, who picked up Dad. John was so attentive to my Dad's needs, and treated him with such respect and care. I would especially like to thank Liz, the Nurse Unit Manager, who helped us in so many wonderful ways. Liz went above and beyond on several occasions. We are eternally grateful for her care, reassurance, good humour and kindness. The same can be said for Jo, the Director of nursing, who kindly took the time to offer my Mum reassurance and help on a number of occasions. And to Rob, the customer liaison officer, who made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and for helping in a multitude of different ways, always with a smile. Also to Olivia, my Dad’s physiotherapist. My Dad was virtually immobile when he arrived at the hospital, but thanks to Olivia and the entire physiotherapy team, he’s walking and feels independent again. Olivia had a wonderful mix of compassion, patience and clarity, which is exactly what a person with dementia needs. When the time came to leave, Prue and Ancey, the Discharge planners, ensured the transition was smooth. They too offered so much advice and reassurance to my Mum throughout my Dad's stay. The problem with naming people is that you're bound to miss out on someone, which I know I have! So, thanks to EVERYONE who had anything to do with my Dad's stay at the hospital. I highly recommend this rehab hospital. * October/November, 2020 * If we could give this hospital more than five stars, we would. We wish we could give them 10 stars! Our experience has been exceptional on both occasions. This time around, when we returned, we felt as though we were welcomed back to the hospital like family members. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Even though the staff are under more pressures due to Covid, they handled all daily tasks with such professionalism, positivity and grace. They are the best hospital staff we’ve come across. They are compassionate, friendly, expertised and caring. Unlike last time, we can’t name people to thank because there are TOO many - we will miss someone out! So in general, we’d like to thank ALL the staff: the management, nursing unit managers, front desk team, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, discharge planners, cleaners, kitchen staff, admin team, and any other team we’ve missed. They all work together like a finely-tuned machine to ensure every patient reaches their rehabilitation goals in a positive environment. Given my Dad’s recurring health issues, there’s every chance we will need to return to Hills Private Hospital again some time in the future. And while it’s never ideal to be in hospital, at least we’d be returning to this hospital, which is one of the best! 😊

My husband has been a patient of The Hills for over 1 month. The physios Christine, Donna, Carmen and OT Rebekah are amazing. I can't speak highly enough of them. The nursing staff are great and the food good. There are lots of minor things that could be improved such as the downstairs car park which is uneven, badly lit, and has excess furniture etc stashed in every corner. There are no signs as to which of the many stairs lead upstairs. The furniture outside the check in counter is particularly awful, and features a rubbish bin close by. If patients bring in a dog it would be nice to have somewhere better to sit. Most of the Covid Marshalls are polite and helpful but a couple are unnecessarily aggressive and offhand. My main complaint is when asking person A to provide a medical certificate (for example) you get passed to person B. Person B then goes on leave and you have to start process again. The only way to make sure this happens is to physically stand over the person while they complete your request.
