Very helpful and friendly staff and doctors. Most complaints are about waiting, but the reason why you are waiting so long is because there is so many people there. There wouldn't be a lot of people if it wasn't a good place. If you want faster service go to a place with less people. It can be a long wait, but it's worth it because you get everything you need and want. Reviews shouldn't be based off of waiting time cause it varies and it's a health service not food.

There seems to be a lot of negative reviews about receptionist here, I have never had a problem with them but frankly I don’t choose my doctor base on the manners of their front desk. I want a doctor who listens, are thorough , competent and kind. I found all these qualities in Dr Lam. I now live in Willoughby but I still travel to Marrickville just to see Dr. Lam. Highly recommend her although she doesn’t need it.

The docs seem ok but the receptionists are the rudest people I’ve ever met. I’ve been there a few times and every time they are short, in a hurry and just blatantly rude. I always give them a pass since I figure they deal with rude people coming in so it’s conditioned them in a sense but today after making an appointment they closed for no reason, gave no notice and when I arrived at the front door and I caught the attention of the receptionist to ask her what it was, as typical, she rudely waved me away. I’ll never come back to this surgery ever again.

I am so unhappy with this place? They seem to run on a different time or where they come from???? This is Australia!!!... get your appointments in order, always packed.... I waited an hour and the receptionist says to me! "That lady has been waiting for an hour too"... like that's my problem!

The reception is awful. I called in this morning because I had to see a doctor immediately, but the lady on the call said we are fully booked today, so I tried to explain how it’s an emergency and she HANGED UP ON ME. Who hired her? That is so disrespectful, unprofessional and inconsiderate. She should not work as a receptionist if she wants to hang up on people mid sentence. And when you go on a call at first you hear “one of our FRIENDLY staff will be with you shortly”, this is a joke

Receptionist staff were very friendly. Nurses and Doctors were wonderful. I came for what I needed and more. Great medical centre! Now I know why it's always packed.

It is good bulk bill service here, Dr Angela Lam is my family doctor and she always provide good care for me even over the phone or see her face to face. Recommend everyone to see her if you need a female family doctor in area

These reviews are vastly unfair. This is a bulk billed practice where the doctors, nurses and admin staff do their best in often difficult situations. I’ve been coming here for 15 years, and even though sometimes there is a long wait, it’s only because so many people need help and they’re trying to help everyone. Get a grip people- you’re lucky to have a first world health system with bulk billing.

I had the horrible experience ever that I went to, I took my daughter to see an Chinese female dr, as soon she saw my daughter had little spot on her face she opened the door wide and said she had an old mother at home , she don't want her motto get it , then stay home , don't go to work. She just said to stay home for 7 days without checking what's the virus, she took the swab test and came back 3 days latter said its not shingles but didn't mention what is it ,, she said she didn't test anything else. If u are a good dr you shouldn't make patients feel uncomfortable, you are there to help them . If anything you wear gloves.. ...

Were happy to take me last minute, provided I had a negative RAT test. Doctor was efficient and kind, he also urged me to hurry to ensure I got my blood test & xray done asap so that I would have results before the weekend. Really enjoyed my experience + bulk billed!

Dr Dang is amazing. Everything else is a bit meh particularly wait times. Like how difficult is it to let people know when they come in that the doctors running late and has 17,000 clients ahead of you?

So I visited the Medical Centre about my really sore tongue and mouth. Not a sore throat and I had a negative PCR. I described my symptoms and the doctor talked about medication for ulcers. I said I do not have mouth ulcers - why not take a look. She practically yelled at me - “I live with my 94 year old mother in law. I don’t want to catch something and kill her”. Then from a distance of about 2 metres she shone her torch into my mouth and gave me a script for mouth ulcer treatment. Totally crazy and the idea that Medicare is paying for that consultation is an insult to all taxpayers.

I had made an appointment through their online booking system 4 days prior to my appointment. Rocked up, only to be told that the Doctor I was booked in to see "wasn't taking new patients". If I had been given ample notice that this was the case (ie when I booked the appointment) I could have made other arrangements or an appointment elsewhere. This left me without medical treatment when I needed it on a weekend. This is completely negligent and unacceptable of the practice. Go elsewhere!

The best GP I’ve been to in years. I usually go in the morning and it’s so efficient. Record time in and out has been 10 minutes! That’s unheard of in Sydney. Today I want at peak hour and there was a delay with the doctor, and the receptionist took initiative and booked me with a different doctor to save me time. The doctors do a great job, really take care and sort me out. Considering also it’s bulk billed, the service is great. Thanks a lot!!

The doctors and male receptionists are perfect, friendly and accommodating if not a little too lax with the process. However I get there early in the morning, I’m the first one there and the woman receptionist was so utterly rude, I mentioned I was sick a week ago when I got the blood test, she said to wait outside with a mask, yelling NOOOW after I said I’m not sick anymore, alright sure may I get a mask since I don’t have one? I asked calmly. She then proceeds to ignore me and start talking to the next person. I get it if it’s during the day and you’ve been through a bunch of people who are rude, customer service sucks I did it myself but I was literally the first person and I didn’t yell or get upset, I was calm and she was extremely disrespectful. Just not the right choice of a person to be on the front desk. She shouldn’t deal with anyone if she acts like this. Besides that it was fine.

Terrible unorganised and caught them in a lie... walked out without seeing a doctor after they changed my appointment and original Dr. Told me some lie he had an emergency. Sitting in the waiting room waiting and he comes out of his room and takes a walkin patient who arrived after me.... basic customer service would be nice even though you bulk bill you are still getting paid by us patients are customers as well and when there are only two patients waiting and two people sitting behind a desk doing nothing doesn't seem difficult...now I have to try and find another Dr and leave work early again.....beware if unorganised stupidity is a trigger for you

Been going here for years. Dr Lam is worth the wait. And yes, the receptionists have good and bad days, like the rest of us. But mostly if you're respectful and polite, so are they 😊

GP I see is very thorough & caring. Yes, there can be a wait at times but that is the price to pay for fully bulk billed services. Reception staff and nursing staff have always been exceptional to me.

Customer service is poor , communication isn’t clear enough. My partner called them earlier morning to book appointment over the phone and they said to just walk in and be here before 11:30 as they don’t do booking . So we did walk in and we managed to come on time not late and been here sitting for such a long time I understand there’s many people waiting but they need a proper clear communication when explaining to every customer about to waiting time no more than 2hrs I have a 5month old baby with me and it’s really hard sometime and they don’t understand .. Reception staff isn’t good today most of time we come visit we never had problem today is just went down hill.. The only reason we come here is by recommendation of our good friend and also the doctors here are very good no problem . Shame reception is not good .

HORRIBLE service with phone consults. I had an appointment at 10:20am and never got called. I phoned them twice to follow up and was told phone consults are considered non urgent but the doctor would call me by 5pm. I had to send a medical certificate by 5pm that day to my employer. They never called me!!!! I wasted all day waiting when I could have been exploring other options. REALLY ANGRY.

My son needed to see a doctor and our usual (privately billing) GP was fully booked. Called the practice not long after it opened on a Tuesday and the friendly receptionist advised no appointments were available but that I should come as a walk-in and could expect to wait about 45 mins. I arrived at 10:40 and was seen at 11:30, which I thought was very reasonable, particularly considering the practice had a brief technical issue that saw their computers not working so that would have delayed my appointment somewhat. I was seen by a lovely female GP - Dr Sadia Mughal - who diagnosed the issue and explained how to fix it, including issuing a script. It’s rare to find a bulk billing doctor these days so I’m grateful for this practice. I think some of the poor ratings given by others are unfair. The doctors are obviously doing the best they can. Will definitely visit again. Thanks Dr Mughal for looking after us.

Walk-ins are fine and doctors are fine, but don't bother calling through.. Receptionists wont answer the phones. Admin completely lets this place down and prevents any kind of doctor-patient relationships.

Dr Abdur Rashid Alamgir incompetent. Gave me incorrect treatment and then later incorrect tests (corrected him). Weeks later, still issues and he prescribed incorrect treatment again (never looked up the correct treatment - corrected him again). Negligent and Ignorant. I'm angry.

As others have experienced, I booked online only to be told on arrival that "Dr Peng does not see new patients. Can you see Dr Lam today?" Sure, whatever. Waited an hour past my appointment time. "Unfortunately no doctors can see you today. They are being difficult." What a way to spend a Saturday morning.

Visited here on the morning last week, I didn't need to wait for a long time to meet GP. It just took 10' for waiting. A receptionist was really friendly to recommend me a suitable GP for my case. The symptoms have been reduced after a week. It seems most people have only problem with the waiting time and reservation.

I have had good experiences with this place, it is difficult to book on the phone sometimes and walk-ins can take a while, but you will generally see someone, bulk-billed. I strongly recommend booking online https://www.dyvesthealthcare.com.au/marrickville-medical-centre/ Dr Guanco is my guy and have had excellent service and thoughtful help from him.
