Amazing Covid-19 testing staff. Had my test done this afternoon and it was very efficient and friendly. The lady doing the swab was on a 10 hour shift and was the happiest person I've ever met at a testing site.

The doctor (Rachel) was nice, but they wanted to check everything, even my blood, although I said it was not necessary. So at the end I paid AU$ 972 .. and the woman that was responsible for the invoice was so incompetent. She saw that I took the Amex credit card and didn’t tell me they don’t accept, then after the transaction she wanted to take another visa credit card. So at the end they charged me twice.. then I got money back from one transaction but lost AU$ 5 during conversion rate + they charged me AU$ 22 for paying with Amex - this are not my fees, but they are from the hospital and it was also the fault from the hospital!!! I went there several times to the cashier and told the older lady that I want my money back - she is the unfriendliest person I ever met in Australia!!! Can’t believe she is working with contact to costumer. Until today they didn’t give back my AU$ 27 … so unhappy about this situation! - can not recommend this hospital and would never go again! They should fire the old lady with grey hair at the cashier, she was so unfriendly, didn’t want to help and started to ignore me….

Thanks to all the staff and emergency crew who took me in and looked after me when my body apparently went into a severe panic attack from drinking my first beer after 15 years of being sober. Yes, i'm the guy who was in a cold sweat, numb and vomiting after only a single glass of beer. Guess that'll be my last glass of beer i ever have as well.

Today I’ve spent several hours in the emergency room at Sydney Eye Hospital with my wife who required attention to an issue with her eye. Having observed the nurses and admin staff dealing with a wide variety of the public and many who were in the wrong part of the hospital, they treated each patient with respect and care. Bravo on a job well done. My wife received excellent medical attention too.

This place is designed for waits. Eg with 2 in reception signing people in, they actually also have another job. So they spend maybe half the time doing their pc and paperwork. They have a phone system for changing appointments. The wait is always at least 40min to get a person. But half the time the phone line cuts at 20 min. Don't even bother, I've spent 4 hours and not gotten through. No other way to contact unless you're from 1990 and have a fax machine.

No doctors available between midnight and 8.30am!! Online the hospital emergency is advertised as 24hrs. Only a nurse is there during these time. Optometrist referred me onto Sydney Eye Hospital in case I woke in the middle of the night with intense pain from eye infection. Arrived at 3.30am to be told no doctors until 8.30am. Three people had already been waiting hours so was told to go home, come back later in the morning and take panadol.

Doctors and nurses are amazing, but the waiting time and the process of finally seeing a doctor is just terrible. Plus the reception needs to improve how to deal with patients in massive pain.

Literally the best hospital i have been to in my life. The doctors, nurses and staff treat you so amazing, like a human not a number.. i have been to many hospitals before throughout all of Sydney before in my life and have never been treated so nicely and kindly as i was today (22nd July 2019). The nurses (forgot their names) and Dr Angus Wilkinson was just so kind and professional. I'm so glad to see that there are still Doctors and Nurses that have such a good heart. Thank you so much!

I know and understand that hospital is emergency room. My partner been sick for three day with over 40*c. i make a call if i can send him to this hospital cause i don’t want to waste the time go there and got reject over there. But the person that picked up the phone could have say nicer or can give me advices. We are patients that already feeling worst and you just hang up on me while im speaking! very unprofessional!? Have you study about manners!? very upsetting! don’t even want to give a star. ( We already went to GP but didn’t help anything either! just speak give us medical prescriptions and that’s it! only have to pay more. really upsetting of work by these services)

Went to check on making an appointment even though it states a 24 hour open period, just wanted to get procedure receptionist was very sharp before I had even finished trying to get info I needed I was told to stop talking as I would have to repeat it all again put in hold for short time then got told doctor or optometrist should have emailed it faxed the referral and told me so as well. Again trying to ask another simple question got told "I'm only the receptionist this is the fax number". We all have bad days at times but the lady needs to get her act together and respond in a polite and respectful manner.

Wanna give 5 star for hand unit Doctors and nurses. However I wan to give 0 star for emergency department team. It was most horrible memories that I had to wait 6-7 hour for only Panadol and nurse was extremely lazy she asked me to do dressing by myself even I did not grumble and couldn't use injured hand.

Came in for hand surgery on badly fractured hand. That did not happen today. Understandable it gets busy and happy to wait. However I was only given pain relief on Sunday night to last me until surgery today. Tuesday. When I asked if I could have some pain relief being in quite alot of pain. I was told I could have panadole only. I am sure if any of the staff were suffering chronic pain from a hand fracture that needs surgery, they would of appreciated receiving some. I now have surgery booked tomorrow. Again happy to wait i inderstand hospitals are busy and the more severe the more priority and i don't claim to have the most severe injury the are dealing with at the moment. However to be sent home with zero pain relief and to be looked at in a judgemental manor when it was requested. Is far from caring or professional. Stark contrast to my visit on Sunday night where the emergency staff were great.

Sydney Hospital is the most exceptional hospital in Sydney in my many experiences with this Hospital. The staff, Doctors, nurses, technicians, security, kitchen staff and cleaners are the most caring of staff I have ever come across. I spent 11 days in hospital here a few years ago..and one day with my mum in emergency, this hospital is still the same absolutely the best support you can get. Sydney Hospital started as a rum factory they sold rum so they could build it. The grounds and buildings are just spectacular. Best atmosphere for a hospital ever. Love this Hospital and have to say thank you to all the staff for your lovely disposition and caring service.

I had an horrible experience at this place. Nurse triage was rude, when I tried to explain him my symptoms he said to me, no I don’t want to listen. You have to talk to the doctor. And the lady at the front desk was very rude also. No manners to talk to people that feeling unwell.

The receptionist there was rude and terrible. Not respectful to people at all!!!! Please find a friendly receptionist for your patients!!!

Can someone from NSW health contact me please, I have a disability and was discriminated against by the attending doctor in emergency. I wish to make a formal complaint to be publicly documented on the record for this hospital.

Clinical wards include Eyes, Hands, ENT and General Medicine as well as the Peri-Operative Suite. Other services provided are: a 24hr Emergency Department (for eyes and general) and an outpatient departments (eyes, general and hands). Unfortunately, over the years, I have had need to attend, on separate occasions, the Eye Hospital, the Hand Unit and the Emergency Unit of the General Hospital. The efficiency and professionalism of each has been at the highest level. The only negative comment I would offer is the extensive wait required in the Eye Hospital which has long queues for outpatient examination and treatment.

  • 1/5 Leemo 2 years ago on Google
Hospital staff in the eye care area are fantastic. The in-house pharmacy is another story. One particular pharmacist (Male) should not be in a customer facing role at all. No empathy and incredibly rude. I’ve been going there for almost 2 years now and he is always the same, not just a one off.

1.5 hours waiting is not equivalent to 45 minutes but hey at least the doctor was amusing and they have a cafe 🤷🏻‍♂️

😐 Always very long wait. First go to Reception. They ask Medicare, whether you have been a patient before at Westmead Hospital (then you will have a MRN number so they can dig out your medical history). Waiting game starts. Then a nurse from Triage will call your name, write down the notes and then ag...

🫤 Have been here twice for an emergency. Do not come here if you have another option. Staff attitude is not what you'd expect in a big city hospital. I'd probably expect this in a bogan town, but not from a 'big city' hospital in Sydney. Waited 3 hours for an X-ray.
