Had a skin check with Dr Shawki and he took a pain-free biopsy as a precaution. Very professional and low-key funny. Solid doctor, would recommend.

I would highly recommend this practice. Dr Shawki is a personable, very thorough and knowledgeable practitioner. I've seen him for general consultations and for a skin check and have been very satisfied with all treatment. The receptionists are always friendly and efficient.

I stumbled upon this place but was incredibly happy to have discovered it. Dr Shawki has consistently diagnosed things that were then confirmed by specialists or tests. Great doctor. I've never been able to say "I have a GP" before but I've been stoked with this clinic.

This was my first visit to this Medical Practice. An attentive receptionist in a homely, clean and light space greeted me. If there had been any small delay, there was a giant TV screen available to add interest to any down time. Dr Shawki was there at the exact appointed time. He reviewed my skin cancer history and then gave my whole body, (one half at a time), a thorough and careful check. I had one blemish on my back which he was able to identify and pro-actively remove on the spot. While this was my first visit to South Street Medical practice, it definitely will not be my last.

I sought this practice because the doctor was skin cancer accredited . He was thorough and conducted a full examination. I will return yearly for a health check. I am in my 60's and doctor advised me what to look out for in the future.

One of the nicest medical places I have been to in Sydney. The lady at reception was nice and polite, smiling behind the mask and very informative. Dr. Mortadha did a great job, he is knowledgeable and did a procedure straight away even tho I was booked only for a skin screening. I forgot to take a lolly after, so I hope I can get it on my next visit ;)

I needed an appointment at very short notice and the Receptionist was able to organise for me to be fitted in. The Nurse & the Doctor attended to me and I felt well cared for. Great teamwork all round.

Dr Kang is a wonderful GP who was very understanding of my medical background and gave me great advice! I will continue to see her for my medical needs. The practice is lovely as well, with reception staff being helpful and friendly.

Wonderful doctor Shawki! He has been seeing my mother for two years now since he took over the practise and both mum and I are so very very very happy with his level of care. All the staff are caring and polite. I have been so happy with how he is looking after my mother with all her medical conditions. He is very thorough, patient and warm hearted. This clinic has been our family practice for many years, and it only seems to be getting better in the new hands of Dr Mortadha Shawki, who as well as being a very thorough GP is also an excellent skin cancer specialist. He spotted a nodular BCC behind my ear a couple of weeks ago when examining my back for an unrelated problem, and expertly cut it out just today. I had been to a dermatologist for my annual skin check only a month or so before his diagnosis, and the specialist had missed it completely. Highly recommended.

I asked the doctor to prescribe a medication that I have been taking for over ten years. It has been effective and safe. She said it is not recommended by Australian doctors. She refused to prescribe it and insisted on prescribing a different medication which she herself said might have counter-interactions with another medication I have to take daily. Sure enough, what she prescribed made me sick. I consulted another doctor who had no hesitation prescribing my old medication and could not understand why the other GP has refused to prescribe it. I told him that she said it was not recommended by Australian doctors and he said that wasn’t true. The whole experience was awful, I felt undermined by the doctor, not listened to and worst of all I was given medication that the doctor knew could make me sick.

Dr Shawki is a very good, kind and caring practitioner, the reception staff are all very lovely and professional. I would not hesitate from recommending this practice.

Highly recommend Dr Shawki, he’s been thorough, a good communicator and saved me outside of hours when I needed an eScript. Wouldn’t recommend Dr Kang as she really rushes her sessions and isn’t as thorough.

Appointment for a skin check, very efficient and informative. Dr Shawki creates a very comfortable and relaxed environment.

We have been attending this practice for about a year and have had a very positive experience. In particular the administrative staff are very helpful and professional, and Dr Shawki has provided great care - in particular, he is very good with small children and my son really likes him.

This is my first time to this clinic and Dr Mortada Shawki to see about a removal of a basal cell cancer from my face. I felt very comfortable and he was very thorough with taking a biopsy and giving me treatment information. Very happy and confident for him to remove it.

I changed to this practice in early 2022 and have since then always received the best care from Dr Shawki and the rest of the team.

This visit was my first. Met by a friendly receptionist, despite me running slightly late (sorry). Overall, the clinic was clean, plenty of seats and I was lucky to have been waiting for less than a few minutes before going into the office/procedure room. Again, very clean. I felt at ease by the doctor who happily explained everything in a friendly and professional way. Suffice to say, should I have to return then yes, I would go back and would recommend this clinic to any friends/colleagues.

First time visit. Dr Susan Kang did not call me by my preferred name despite appointment being booked under that name. Questioned me and made standoffish statements over my taking of medication and whether or not I really need it just based on my appearance and despite not knowing my history. I won’t be returning

This was my first appointment at South Street Medical Practice. I found Dr Mortadha Shawki to be really thorough and informative regarding concerning skin lesions that have recently shown on my head and face. He explained it perfectly, without doubt a big plus for our Marrickville community!

Very good first appointment with Dr Susan Kang. She was on time, kind and listened attentively to my problem. I felt she genuinely cared about helping me.

I had a scheduled telephone consultation with Dr. Susan Kang at 10:00 AM. Unfortunately, I still had not received a call by 11:20 AM, despite contacting the receptionist three times during this period. Each time I called, I was informed that Dr. Kang was with a patient. I understand that doctors can sometimes run behind schedule due to patient needs, but the significant delay and the lack of communication during this time were quite frustrating. It left me feeling unattended and disrespected. As a result of this experience, I felt compelled to cancel my subsequent appointment with Dr. Kang. I believe that clear communication and respecting scheduled appointment times are essential aspects of providing quality healthcare. I hope that this feedback can contribute to improving the overall patient experience, as it's important for patients to feel valued and attended to during their appointments.

Dr Mortadha Shawki is a great doctor. Attentive and very good at explaining. Makes time for his patients.

Was difficult to find a skin check in a timely fashion, but South Street had one. My firat time here and it was a really great experience. Sometimes you can feel like an intruder in a new doctors office, but from reception through the experience was just really nice. Scheduling through the Hotdocs app was easy but they do take phone calls as well. My dr Susan was super friendly, didn’t rush and exuded professionalism. I felt confident and reassured. In the end there were no issues, but will being doing my regular check here. They didn’t bulk bill, but seems like the place that if you had a need they just might if you asked.

I have found Dr Shawki to be very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. A caring doctor who takes his time to help his patients. Reception staff are also very polite and professional. Highly recommend this medical practice.
