Wow, people are giving bad reviews for ridiculous things that didn't suit their exact needs! The lady who got annoyed classes get full is the funniest. I love this place and have used it with pleasure for three years. I've had a membership, visit the gym and pool regularly, and think it's one of the nicest facilities in the inner west. The gym is airy and quiet with great views, the pool is fine - a bit over chlorinated but that's the nature of indoor pools with kids' swimming lessons - and bonus no sun exposure. Great floor class teachers, lovely staff all round in gym and desk, no problems with membership payments, and a nice walk through the park to get there.

As a full paying member of this facility I have found repeatedly the customer service is appalling and lacks care. The young people that work here are abysmal and don't care about what they are doing. They are babysitting a front desk and have no vested interest in cultivating good relationships with the local community who have paid good money to be members. The pool is another issue- You turn up to swim and the lanes are full. The *young life guards are busy talking to each other and if asked for help it is given with ATTITUDE and unfriendliness. Who does your hiring? It is such a shame that the council who runs this place hires staff who don't care about the roles they are employed to do. Get some good people who care and have a vested interest in community............ This place is asking for it.

Since Inner West Council have taken over this venue the service has decreased markedly. My son attends swimming lessons here and today self appointed Duty Manager Aaron decided he wanted to "punish the children" by expelling them from the pool and threatened to cancel my younger son's swimming lessons because he felt it necessary to throw this weight around and bully a 5 year old. Not only was there no basis for him to target my child he then continued by making threats to cancel his swimming lessons. Discussions with the reception staff were utterly pointless as they didn't even know his name. Word of warning to parent's of young children, if you see this pool dictator on duty, have your children eat their lunch until the pool dictator goes for a walk lest they feel the wrath of the power tripping duty manager Aaron. Tosser, bully of 5 year old children. Utterly disappointing.

In a city where you are spoilt for choice, this is definitely on the bottom end of pools I’ve visited. The facility is quite a bit older than it’s surrounding pools, there are smaller locker areas and changing rooms, and you seem to need to get a physical key from reception to use the lockers at all. When I was visiting most of the pool was closed for kids activities, including 3 lanes for a water slide, 4 half lanes for swimming lessons and squad practice, another two lanes for free swimming, which left 2 and a half lanes for free for laps. I asked if we could free up some additional space, there were 12 people attempting to swim laps in those few open lanes, but they said there were too many people to do that - which seems counter intuitive. I think I’d easily head elsewhere as this place was overbooked and mismanaged. Also the fee was just as expensive as Ashfield pool, which is a larger and nice indoor/outdoor experience. A shame, because I love the surrounding area.

I wish I could give 0 star if it was the option. I don't normally post things like this in social media unless it gets really bad... Annette Kelleman swimming school - seriously since the new management kicked in everything gone so messy no proper communication with 6-7 years royal customers about permanent swimming lessons cancelled. I have been getting SMS each week kids swimming lessons been cancelled. So thought at first must be alot of teachers getting sick in this winter weather. But it was ongoing for like 6 weeks and each week same msg - lessons cancelled. No other comments. I tried to call them but on hold for more than 10 mins so decided to email. They came back - under new management due to shortage staff they permanently cancelled both of my kids lessons. Apparently they emailed me. Must have gone to spam I did not get it. I asked why didnt you call? They said they called and left ONE voice mail? I DID NOT Get it. They definitely did not do that. Also if they had time to msg me each week about class is cancelled why didn't they msg me to call them back? Now they are asking as the previous management did not leave kids swimming level data we have to come and get new assessments? Seriously? We started kids swimming since they are 6 months old. Every week. For past 6 years.... I think this is it... We are not going there never ever and if you are ever thinking about taking your kids there don't even bother. They are absolutely TERRIBLE!

Terrible service since July 2022 when council runs the pool. No instructors and still charge to our account and even triple charge. When I called asking for the explanation, no one is being responsible there and no one can answer why they charge my account a huge amount of money (equal to over 6 weeks of lessons) The manager is not there whenever I called. How can we give our kids to those unreliable team.

rip-off small crowded and unfair.. you cancel your membership and you still have to pay for a month.. when I signed with them they said that I'll have 3 sessions with the trainer for free, but every time they booked a day they cancelled due the trainer's day off. soo unprofessional, don't waste your time and money.

The worst run pool in Sydney lanes are cobstantly closed in peak times due to seniors classes or pool reduced to 1/2 size. Why bother to even have an Olympic sized pool! This is such a badly run and managed facility. It's worth going if you want to share a few Swim lanes that are absolutely packed to capacity as other lanes are booked with aerobics at peak times. Full price patrons who work only have the brief morning time before work to exercise, seniors have all day and concession holders should not be admitted at peak times unless you pay full price. You'd think the ratepayers would want facilities maximised.

We normally swim within the City of Sydney, as this was a change to the Inner West. Our experience at the AKAC was positive. Easy and free to park outside - we were here on a hot Sunday lunch/afternoon. Staff at reception were friendly, took the time to explain the pool and layout. Pools were clean and kids pools had very warm water, but perfect for kids being in the water for a long time. Cafe was open (CoS cafes currently closed). Good and drinks were reasonably priced and good. The price was possibly a bit steep, so for a family to regularly attend you need a membership.

I would like to give a shout-out to Jenny. A prime example of what great customer service looks like. She spoke to me in a very friendly and helpful manner over the phone. She helped me recover my goggles which I left at the pool the previous night, and very generously kept them aside for me while drove to go and get them. Thanks so much Jenny!

It's a nice centre but expensive and poorly managed. The main swim instructor is an uncaring bully who shouts at the kids, but I was told he is their best instructor so therefore his bullying doesn't matter? My daughter also got kicked in the face and chest as he had kids diving in too close but he showed no care and she is too scared of him to tell him what happened. My kids are often in groups of 5 packed into one lane so sometimes it's hard to see how the lessons are worth the cost as each child basically gets 5 minutes attention. On top of this they charge all year round and expect 7 days notice if you can't attend, which is ridiculous and unhelpful.

Swam 600 metres in the slow lane and was wowed by the acqua aerobics. The staff are lovely, pools are clean & patrons respectful of all abilities ✊🏼

There is no make up lesson here. If your child missed a lesson they will not be charged provided you provide them with a medical certificate, which can be a drain to the health and Medicare systems. The shower system is a hit and miss and it can be cold for a child to take a shower here at times. The instructors here however are calm, patience and encouracging to the kids.

Took my kids a couple of Wednesdays ago, and these two boys lifeguarding, couldn't of been more than 20, were excellent with the kids, being really friendly, waving to kids in the pool and answering all the questions typical kids ask. But always, walking away to their job, change a sign, tell a kid off, etc. Brilliant lifeguards, will be coming more often.

The pool is quite good. Parking is relatively easy and free. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities are relatively good. The changing rooms are quite clean, though have a slightly weird layout. The main 50m pool is clean. I would prefer if there was more timer clocks. Overall this pool is quite good.

A great facility - try the 5 day trial pass first and check out the pool and all the gym facilities - then take out the membership that works best for you.

I have sent two inquiries over the last 2 months regarding personal training which they offer on their website. No response. Not even a courtesy email to let me know they aren’t offering it anymore. Very disappointing.

The staff at reception are friendly and helpful. The women's change rooms are spacious and clean with plenty of toilet and shower cubicles. The 50m indoor pool is heated, and the whole centre seems tidy and well kept.

Joined a couple of weeks ago, have since not been able to book into any pilates/yoga/Zumba/stretch group classes as they fill up withing the first 15mins. Very disappointing, as they then have the right to charge a $150 cancellation fee.

Called to let them know there is broken glass just on the pathway outside of the centre. My husband got injured while on the way walking to the centre (he wore thick shoes, luckily not my daughter) the lady told me it’s happened outside of the centre…(?). I said I’m not asking for compensation, just so you’re aware because many kids playing and going to the centre on the pathway. The centre should arrange someone to clean it up. The lady responded “ok” and hung up. How nice!!!!!

I wasn’t let into the pool due to my age but I have been inside the pool multiple times already so I don’t really see a point in not letting me in. Also I was just trying to swim a couple of laps not mess around. So yeah thanks for wasting my time.
