The Anzac Bridge is an iconic suspension bridge located in Sydney, Australia. It spans across Johnstons Bay, connecting the suburbs of Pyrmont and Glebe to the central business district (CBD) of Sydney. With a length of approximately 805 meters (2,641 feet), the Anzac Bridge stands tall as a prominent landmark on the Sydney skyline. It was officially opened to the public on December 3, 1995, replacing the old Glebe Island Bridge. The bridge's name pays tribute to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who served in various conflicts, particularly during World War I. The design of the Anzac Bridge is distinctive and visually striking. It features two tall concrete pylons, each measuring 120 meters (394 feet) in height, which support the main suspension cables. The cables stretch diagonally from the top of the pylons to the road deck, forming an elegant "A" shape that represents the ANZAC acronym. The road deck of the bridge accommodates eight traffic lanes, including two dedicated bus lanes and a shared pedestrian and cycling path. This provides an essential connection between the CBD and the western suburbs of Sydney, improving transportation and accessibility for both commuters and tourists. The Anzac Bridge offers breathtaking panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, including the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and the city skyline. It has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike to capture memorable photographs and enjoy the scenic beauty of the harbor. At night, the Anzac Bridge is illuminated with an impressive display of lights, enhancing its visual appeal. The lighting design highlights the bridge's architectural features, creating a captivating spectacle that can be admired from various vantage points along the harbor foreshore. Overall, the Anzac Bridge is not only a vital transportation link in Sydney but also a significant architectural landmark that represents the city's rich history and serves as a symbol of remembrance for the ANZAC soldiers who made great sacrifices in times of war.

Today 25th April The Anzac Day. I have visited this bridge twice. It's a beautiful location and I loved the bridge walk. I would recommend all to have a walk on this bridge once if you are in Sydney. For more details please refer to my Instagram and Facebook page @psaswetravel

One of the more beautiful bridges in the Sydney CDB. Can be viewed from all different angels around the harbour including Glebe, Balmain, Pyrmont and The Rocks. Very photogenic and nice to walk across

A wonderful bridge with a powerful presence. People love the Harbour Bridge but this one is pretty special too. Take a walk along the path one day and enjoy the view. It looks good from a distance too. If you're driving the speed limit is 60kph.

I love the ANZAC biscuit, so you just KNOW I had to look at this bridge. I think it's funny they made a bridge from a biscuit.. but I'm not complaining. #biscuitandtea

2nd bridge constructed in NSW after the Sydney Harbour Bridge, very modern and good to drive on. Some construction works are currently being undertaken at Rozelle Interchange as part of the M4-M5 Link / Rozelle Interchange project, so some traffic changes are anticipated. The Sydney Metro West project will run parallel with the ANZAC Bridge between Pyrmont Station and The Bays Station.

(Translated by Google) Convenient transportation, light rail, and buses are all directly accessible. In the northern part of the bridge, follow the walking trails and pass through several parks to enjoy the full bridge. The local residents are walking the dog there. Along the trail you can walk to the Sydney Fish Market and have a meal there at noon, a good gathering. The night view of this area is more beautiful. The south of the bridge is also good, the traffic is convenient, the light rail can be directly reached, the park lawn area is increased, you can gather, barbecue, and watch the two bridges. Anzac Bridge The stay cable design concept development and final design for the new bridge were carried out by the Roads & Traffic Authority of NSW and the construction by Baulderstone Pty. Ltd. Good to pass over but you don't get the great views you would expect as a pedestrian. Go to the harbour bridge for that. They really took off one bike lane immediately they finished it for an extra traffic lane. Seriously!!

In my opinion Anzac Bridge is very underrated as Harbour Bridge gets all the attention. If you are crossing this bridge as a passenger in a car you could get some Amazing shots. Walk or ride your bike across the bridge. Government is doing a great job with the recent Rozelle interchange construction activities. Hope it helps in easing the traffic!

It's a bridge and it's got some soldier statues on each end and it's free, so it's good - especially if you are thinking of crossing the harbour in a car, bike or truck. It's best to use the bridge for that. Why is it called the ANZAC Bridge? Do you seriously want to know? It's a bridge, just use it.

Anzac Bridge in Sydney, Australia, is a true architectural marvel that captures the essence of history and offers breathtaking views. Having recently visited this iconic landmark, I can confidently say that it is a must-see attraction for both locals and tourists. The Anzac Bridge serves as a significant tribute to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who served in various conflicts. Its design pays homage to the heritage of the ANZACs and symbolizes their bravery and sacrifice. The structure itself is a testament to engineering brilliance, with its towering pylons and distinctive cable-stayed design that gracefully spans across the beautiful waters of Sydney Harbour. One of the highlights of visiting the Anzac Bridge is the stunning panoramic views it offers. As I walked along the pedestrian path, I was captivated by the breathtaking vistas of the city skyline, Sydney Harbour, and the surrounding areas. The bridge's strategic location provides an excellent vantage point to admire the city's iconic landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It is an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Beyond its visual appeal, the Anzac Bridge also offers a unique experience for pedestrians and cyclists. The dedicated walkway and cycle path provide a safe and enjoyable way to traverse the bridge while taking in the awe-inspiring views. It is an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in the tranquility of the harbor and enjoy a leisurely stroll or bike ride. Moreover, the bridge's accessibility and convenient transportation links make it easily reachable for visitors. Whether you choose to drive, catch a bus, or utilize other modes of public transport, reaching the Anzac Bridge is a breeze. The availability of nearby parking facilities ensures a hassle-free experience for those traveling by car. I was also impressed by the efforts taken to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the bridge. The pedestrian walkway and surrounding areas were well-maintained, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the grandeur of the structure and its surroundings. The attention to detail in preserving the historical significance of the bridge is commendable. Visiting the Anzac Bridge is more than just admiring its architectural beauty; it is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by the ANZACs and pay tribute to their legacy. The bridge stands as a poignant reminder of Australia's rich history and the courageous spirit of those who served. In conclusion, the Anzac Bridge in Sydney is an impressive landmark that seamlessly blends history, engineering excellence, and natural beauty. Its striking design, panoramic views, and accessibility make it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. I highly recommend visiting the Anzac Bridge to experience its grandeur and immerse yourself in the captivating atmosphere it offers.

Stunning views as you zoom across one of Sydney's gems. An expansive bridge which provides an ideal link from the hustle and bustle of the city, to the slightly greener space towards Leichardt and Drummoyne. An unheralded and intriguing part of this wonderful city. Well worth giving a whirl across this iconic and historic landmark.

I'm not sure where people are getting their lunch or cheeseburgers (I'm glancing at other reviews), but this is a bridge. It's pretty great for pedestrians and bikes, as it connects the inner west to Pyrmont. Before this bridge was built in 1998, the way out to the west was Parramatta Road, which as you can imagine, was slow. On the western, you'll see two soldiers on either side of the bridge. The one on the northern side is easier to see up close because of how the walkways work. The Eastern side has informational signs at the top of the pedestrian ramp. Great views from the Glebe foreshore!

I crossed this bridge 🌉 walking on the sidewalk and it was ok. You have a great view of the city and you must read the sign at the begging of the bridge to learn a bit about the history to understand the meaning of its name and the emplacement of the flags. Not as good as Harbour Bridge obviously but it was fun to do it.

A gentle giant. It may not get as much attention as its bigger brother, the Harbour Bridge, but this bridge does its best to connect people of the inner west to the city. The traffic can get pretty intense but that's usually expected during peak hours, especially now with the WestConnex. This bridge gets five stars since without it, my travel time would probably be double!
