When I first found this place tucked away in the industrial area of Marrickville, I fell in love. Finally, a REAL 🥯 BAGEL AND REAL PUMPERNICKLE BAGELS TO BOOT!! this was over 2 years ago, but now it is disappointing, They no longer make an authentic RUBEN. What they are calling a Ruben is simply pastrami on a bagel. It has apparently changed hands from the original owners, and while the bagels are still better the most outside of the Valcluse area, they are not what they used to be and certainly not worth nearly $5 for 1 bagel. As a real New Yorker, I am very critical when it comes to businesses claiming to be the REAL THING. BE IT bagels or pizza etc.. While the average Aussie might find these guys great, A REAL NEW YORKER can tell the difference. I'd be less critical if they weren't claiming to be Authentic. As far as a bagel goes, they are ok, NOT GREAT, BUT OKAY at least its not a bread roll with a hole! But they are smaller then the average bagel, and stale tasting for whats meant to be freshly baked on the day, the ones I bought yesterday certainly did not look or taste freshly made and I ended up giving $40 worth of Bagles (6) and a loaf of Rye Bread (that I could have commited a murder with) away. THEY ARE WAY TO EXPENSIVE AS WELL!! WHEN THESE GUYS FIRST APPEARED THEY DEFINITELY WERE AMAZING, IT'S A REAL SHAME!

I like the bagels BUT absolutely terribly packed for delivery. I ordered bagels through Menulog and was excited for a bagely breakfast. I would generally expect in relation to delivery with hygiene as it changes hand from bakery to delivery people to reach me, to have them packed in a paper bag at a minimum. The bagels were just thrown into an open delivery bag and was delivered to my door open like that in the picture. If you don't want to use a seperate closed bag to pack them so bagel stays fresh and clean then atleast staple the delivery brown bag so it's not open like this. The bag was left outside like in the picture Infront of my apartment. Didn't feel hygienic or safe to eat them :/

This is one of those places that is probably still finding it's feet. The coffee we had was average, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad. The bagel is probably one of the better bagels I've had in a while however it feels like the ratio of cream cheese to meat is all wrong. I feel like all i was chewing on was cream cheese. The $6 for the smoked salmon add on was not worth it as we only got 2 pieces of smoked salmon. Pastrami for $5 was better as they gave more pieces and the ratio of cream cheese to meat was better. This is one of those places I won't need to come back to for a very long time.

Fellow New Yorker here — this place definitely scratched the itch for a ~real~ bagel. Some fun bagel flavors and shmears. Missing out a little on flavor, but the texture was awesome and the ratio of cream cheese to bagel was as authentic as it gets. There should be rubbish bins set out for guests dining in! :)

The bagel’s themselves were so delicious and fresh! I had a salmon and cream cheese which was pretty good (pictured). My partner got the Reuben bagel which unfortunately was pretty dry and didn’t have much filling on it. We were pretty disappointed as we ended up paying $38 for two small bagels without any drinks (inc Sunday surcharge).

Great bakery tucked away in Marrickville. The soft pretzels 🥨 are a slice of New York right here in Sydney. Sourdough loaf and poppyseed buns are also a winner. The poppyseed buns are perfect for hamburgers. Definitely will be back to try the bagels 🥯

Incredible. Black Sesame lox bagel was mind blowing and Reuben was top notch, especially the day after reheated in an air fryer 😂 Hot chocolate and cold brew were extremely well made. I also got 100gm of "Nutella"- dunno if real or your own creation (I wolfed it down) but it was glorious. Reuben came with crisps that were sooooo fresh. Everything was essentially mind blowingly good. Want moreeeee! P.S Also bought garlic butter. I have no words...😍

I've eaten a lot of fried chicken sandwiches in my time and this one is easily one of the best in Sydney and I was lucky to be the first person to try it on the menu! The buttermilk fried chicken breast was freshly made so still warm, topped with quality melted double American cheese with a house sauce and salad. Put this between a toasted sesame seed bagel and it's a winner. Will be back for sure.

This should be a 5 star review. The bagels are excellent, the cream cheese is excellent, it’s good food. But what’s holding them back is the stinginess of their salmon portions. I ordered a lox bagel with a $6 extra of smoked salmon and this is what they served. It turns out $6 pays for 1 slice of salmon. ONE SLICE!!!!!!! That is criminal! It pains me to do this, because I love the bagels, I’d want to go here more. But such a below-average serving of salmon, when you’re paying for EXTRA is a rip off. For comparison, go and look up Small Talk in Dulwich Hill and Saga in Enmore at their lox bagel salmon potions for the same price.

I recently ordered a bagel pack from my beautiful friend’s birthday during lockdown! He and her son were so happy, such a great gift! Who doesn’t love bagels & sourdough! Thank you for going above and beyond Tessa! Xx

I was really excited to go to this place due to seeing it on instagram and i love a good bagel! Esp them having the everything bagel because i love the star bucks one and also a big fam of salmon!! Such a shame my husband went in and the girls at the front gave attitude (its not nice to roll your eyes at people) when my husband needed a moment to order due to no signs on options being laid out! unfortunately flies flying in the bagels on display which was a big no for us so we didnt get a chance to even take much bagels home as it seemed unhygienic!!! We travelled a long way however a younger girl who served us! Probably in her early teens was a delight! Please get better servers and train them well! Also our food was just chucked into a bag the absolute least you could do was put loose bagels into a paper bag! Such a shame place looks so good on instagram

Wowza! This place was great! We got the bacon, egg and cheese plus the fried chicken bagel and both were fantastic. It has a great ‘warehouse’ vibe with indoor and outdoor seating and service is relatively quick too. Only reason it was not a 5 star is due to the very limited menu options. Other than that, ill definitely be back again. If you haven’t already been, then i highly recommend!

Unquestionably, hands down the best bagel in Sydney! I’m so thankful that finally, I was able to find this spot for some good breakfast and coffee just in time. I will definitely rate them a five-star for everything that they provided.

Popular spot with very good bagel sandwiches and bagels for takeaway. Pastrami and salmon bagels were both delicious and very tasty. Good coffee options too. A few downsides: very long waits, limited seating for dining in and not dog friendly.

Sure, their bagels are good (for a bagel) but their coffee experience is appalling. No ability to act with speed or multitask will leave you waiting for your coffee excessively. Fine if you're dining in, but not if it's take away. Seriously, if you own this place, go and train your staff. 15 mins wait for a coffee when there is only one person ahead of me, and 3 staff working. And this is regularly the case. If you need a coffee quick ... keep going. Cause you will not get one here.

Modern grundge dining at it’s best. Well that might be overkill. But this warehouse bageleria(?) serves up a delicious sandwich. If you are going to go over your processed meet for the week, do it with one of their pastrami sandwiches. With kraut and chipotle. Served with chips and a pickle.

Food was great, however a little unsure of the customer service in this situation. We purchased the bagel chips today - paid full price and realized it's past its best before date. I advised the staff of the issue, they replied saying "it's fine 3 months past that date." With no option to offer a refund or exchange. With strict food guidelines in Australia I really don't think anyone should be selling a product without disclosing that it has passed its best before date & at full price?!

Great bagels 🥯 their cream cheese was rich and generous. Overall it’s worth to check out but their coffee could be better & they’re more in the pricier side

Lovely to stumble on this place today in Surry Hills. Food is great… only two wishes: 1) chips and pickles an option with the OG 2) not such expensive pricing Love the taste, presentation and quality

Friendly staff plus great coffee and food - specifically bagels, whether just toasted with butter, Rueben, salmon, lox or anything on the menu actually - it's all good! Oh, dog friendly - so us folk that are sadly dogless get see some very friendly dogs 😀

My daughter loves bagels. I don't but we went anyway, Grabbed a coffee and in the end I shared a vegan bagel with my daughter. Coffee was great but the bagel was divine! Now I'm a fan. The staff were very friendly and the manager, Sam, is lovely and such a live wire character. Really enjoyed my brief stay there. I will come back. Highly recommended :)

Absolutely brilliant bagels! Bought a sack of assorted flavours to take home and had a delicious toasted bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Just the right crunch to chew ratio (lol, I'm not that picky but this sandwich was pretty perfect). Highly recommended!

⭐️ Very pretty set up, the store on the outside was really captivating with the bright red colour of the unit. Even the seating area was new and fit with the design of the place really nicely.Super clean from the store itself to even behind the counter that's seen from the customer's perspective. ⭐️ Yummy bagels with a wide variety of bases. I got the OG Lox with Everything Bagel and it was incredibly good, the bread was fresh the red onions matched perfectly with the salmon. Everything tasted amazing. ⭐️ The lady who served me was so nice and from what i could see with the staff helping other customers they were very friendly. Very good customer service. ⭐️ They were pretty good timing wise regarding us ordering 4 bagels with alterations. ✨ It was a little pricey but worth the money paid. I do understand the ingredients they use are fresh and cost more so the quality you get is exactly what you pay for. Overall loved this place, would definitely come again to maybe try out the coffee element of the place. Beware of parking there's maybe one space infront of it and a bunch of busy kerb side parking. Thumbs up! 👍

So yum! Just like the real deal in NYC! We ordered a bagel box with schmears to serve our guests the morning after our wedding, they went down a treat! Getting them delivered was so easy - great communication when we needed to change the delivery address. Thanks so much! Highly recommend.

🥯Try these authentic New York bagels in Sydney. Brooklyn Boy Bagels at Marrickville sell the real New York bagels and their ratio of cream cheese and the crunch to chew is as authentic as it gets. ☕️Their coffee is good too. 🥯From plain, poppy, jalepeno to Zatar they have got variety of bagels. My favourite is their Onion bagel and Everything which has a bit of everything.

Finally made it here! The choice of bagels is extensive and embarrassed to say I had a plain one as it was my first time. The fried chicken was delicious, it worked well with the cheese, slaw and chipotle sauce. The crisps on the side were a nice added touch. The sandwich was delicious and keen to try more.

Although I have never been lucky enough to go to the bricks and mortar Bagel Boys, I can say that the Boys make any market even better. Not only are the bagels the perfect mix of chewiness and firm enough to hold my toppings but the tub of cream cheese that comes with the bagels is so generous I always end up eating a bit right off the knife lest my bagel over flow! I couldn’t even wait to take a photo before writing my review - it just smelled and looked so good. I recommend an everything bagel with the Lox cream cheese (a brilliant invention of cream cheese mixed with dill and bites of smoked salmon - every bite equally tasty) because why not go for a classic? Ps please enjoy the disappearance of my bagel while I wrote this

I see mixed reviews about this place which is why I wanted to jump on and give it my five stars. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich Lunch Box and hands down, one of the best Reubens I’ve had in recent times. It came with a big, juicy pickle and potato chips. I ordered on Uber Eats and there wasn’t a single issue.

Considering the location in a light industry strip and unassuming exterior what a little goldmine this place is ! Friendly staff, a really interesting choice of filled bagels or choose-your-own-adventure building from the ground up and a delightful selection of sweet treats. I've tried the Hoboken (delicious and I'm generally not a salami man myself), the PBJ doughnut (I'll be back for you again, Gorgeous !) and the Rose & Jam doughnut (really nice light & fluffy just like a proper jam doughnut should be) They do a great job with one of the better roasts around IMHO too ... Little Marionette. They remembered exactly how I like my coffee on Day 2 and that counts for something in this date and age. Keep up the great work Brooklyn Boys & Girls, you haven't seen the last of me !
