From the Opera House you can get views of the harbour, the Harbour Bridge and of course the unique design of the Opera House itself. All these make Sydney a beautiful picture perfect city. The inside view is spectacular. A must visit place. one can have great pics with Harbour Bridge and It makes a good landmark. Do visit at night once. The majestic Opera House. Doesn’t need a description. Take a ferry from one of the suburbs and get to Circular Quay. That will get you better views of the Opera House. Also try to do the Ferry to Manly beach and you get beautiful views of Opera. Most vibrant place to visit while in Sydney. Must do!!!!

Sydney Opera's one of those places where you have to stop what you are doing and chill with a cold one in one hand. Hands down one of the most important landmarks in the world. Plenty of restaurants and bars on sight, tourist attractions and of course the Opera house, a marvellous piece of architecture. Love this city, hope to travel back again.

The place is spectacular. The building itself is a picture of amazing architecture from the outside. It sit on the shore of the Sidney Harbour with the famous Harbour bridge in its shadow. The jewel of this experience was being able to actually listen to a performance inside. This is once in a lifetime opportunity that is worth every effort of a long flight and overcoming jet lag.

Great iconic location to visit! Beautiful architecture and amazing to know the history of how it was built. Guided tours are available on every day. Also hosts a great cafeteria downstairs - House Canteen. Can sit by the opera house stairs and relax along with the view of harbour bridge. Easily accessible by Public transport and has public toilets available if needed.

Fell in love with it. Must visit. What a wonderful place on the Sydney Harbor. The Sydney Opera House is the symbol of modern Australia. A World Heritage-listed masterpiece of “human creative genius,” it exists because a few brave people dared to think differently. Love those people. Must visit. View by sea at night is mesmerizing.

Beautiful building. We took the basic tour. Some of the aspects were gimmicky, but gave you an opportunity to visit the main concert hall and other areas. Check out the free Sydney museum first which has a section about the Opera House. Tickets had a large weight time which is why we saw the museum prior.

Best and must-go place in Sydney. The vivid shows are absolutely gorgeous, beautiful lighting and showcase. Our family went on a cruise ship, and it took us around the Harbor bridge, and to the Opera house where we got the best view of the vivid show. Most tourists visits the opera house often, so sometimes it may get crowded, but most times it’s quite alright.

What can I say? Seeing the Sydney opera house is the American dream. It was everything I thought it would be. I loved how accessible it was to the public. We even bought day-of tickets at 50% off to see a show inside. Highly recommend.

The Sydney Opera House is a venue for hosting shows, expeditions and other functions. Its located in the centre of Sydney. Opera house is widely regarded as one of the world's most famous architecture. I have managed to capture the views from various locations. If you visit please make sure you take the boat trip to see the view or you can use the opportunity see the harbour view on route to Manly beach. If you are visiting Sydney, Opera house should be a must on your list. I’m sure you will love the beautiful structure of the building.

Amazing venue. The revamped concert hall is AMAZING. Every seat has a good view and great audio. If you get a chance to experience this place you should. I saw Handel's Messiah and it was just outstanding. Great performance by the Sydney Philharmonic Orchestra.

It is a unique place with modernity and serenity juxtaposed. It is a long walk for elderly people. Circular Quay metro can take us right to this place. Worth a visit!

Judging ? from the photos I had seen I expected a much larger building. But it's very nice and harmonious. Both on the outside and from inside. There are numerous restaurants and caffees around it for pre-performance meal.??? I hope everyone that is reading this is having a really good day. And if you are not, just know that in every new minute that passes you have an opportunity to change that. ㊙️ What do you think of this beautiful place? ⁣⁣ ⛩ Instagram ===> @retarophotography ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

The Sydney Opera House is also a must visit place in Sydney. Its unique design makes this monument different and now it's as a Symbol of the City. For the area we will get a good view of Sydney Harbour and The view of Harbour bridge from here is amazing. We wont be able to enter inside the Opera House unless we purchase a ticket 🎫 for a Show. But we can walk through outside for free.

The Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic landmarks in Sydney and an architectural masterpiece. The location is stunning, situated on the waterfront of Sydney Harbour with stunning views of the city skyline and the harbour bridge. But beyond just being a beautiful building, the Opera House is also a great place to chill and hang out. The outdoor terrace areas offer a relaxed atmosphere where you can sit and take in the view or enjoy a drink with friends. The indoor bars and cafes provide a cozy and inviting atmosphere to relax and enjoy a coffee or light meal. The atmosphere is always buzzing, with a mix of tourists and locals, giving the Opera House a vibrant energy. Additionally, there are plenty of events and performances that take place at the Opera House, ranging from classical music to contemporary theatre and dance performances. It's a great place to catch a show and take in some culture. Overall, the Sydney Opera House is a must-visit for anyone visiting Sydney, and a great spot to hang out and enjoy the stunning views and lively atmosphere.

The guided tour here is great, with a great balance of the technical and the historical. Really lovely clarity from the guide over headphones and you get a real sense of both the amazing story behind it and it being a working iconic performing arts venue. Sadly, the eating venues were too busy to redeem the walking tour lunch but it’s valid up to 18:00.

The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre at Sydney Harbour in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is one of the 20th century's most famous and distinctive buildings. The building comprises multiple performance venues, which together host well over 1,500 performances annually, attended by more than 1.2 million people. Performances are presented by numerous performing artists, including three resident companies: Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. As one of the most popular visitor attractions in Australia, the site is visited by more than eight million people annually, and approximately 350,000 visitors take a guided tour of the building each year. The building is managed by the Sydney Opera House Trust, an agency of the New South Wales State Government.

This is a really beautiful monument. It is very crowded and swamped.by tourists. However this area has a very different and a lovely vibe. The restaurants here have good music and the people have the smiles on their faces. This building, when seen from an aeroplane also gives so much joy!

Spectacular view in this place, especially sunrise and sunset time. The tour is highly recommended. You will see the inside of the opera house. As of May 2022, the Concert Hall is still closed for renewal works. If you book the tickets online, you might have the issue I had when finding the tour starting point. It is on the first floor, on the west side of the opera house. After the dark, there are multiple rooftop light shows. I believe it lasts about 5-10 minutes. The frequency is once every hour or every 30 minutes

Iconic landmark. They have a light show that nobody really knows about so check online for the schedule (dusk, 6:30,7, and 8 PM the last time I checked). You have to see the structure from up close, afar, during the day, and at night. The best views of the structure are from the public ferries and the bridge. To see the light show, you need to walk up to the structure.

The Sydney Opera House is an iconic landmark that exceeded all my expectations. The architecture and design are simply breathtaking, and the location on Sydney Harbour is picture-perfect. I had the opportunity to attend a performance and it was an unforgettable experience. The acoustics in the concert hall were outstanding, and the production was world-class. The staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that all guests had a wonderful experience. In addition to the performance, the Opera House offers tours that provide fascinating insights into the history and construction of this magnificent building. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Sydney Opera House, whether it's to attend a performance or just take in the beauty of the architecture and stunning views of the harbour.

Beautiful place that sees a lot of visitors is any given day. Great place to take pictures. People are nice and you can have lunch just a stone's throw away. The food is great and their are healthy options if you are vegan or vegetarian or even keto. Just don't stay in one area too long, even if you are admiring the architecture.

Sydney Opera House, located in the bay of Sydney Harbour, is a performing arts centre which since it opened in 1973 has come to be seen as a masterpiece of modern architecture and a symbol of Australia. It was designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, following an international architectural competition in 1957. His entry was said to have been excluded by the technical judging panel, but later reinstated on the recommendation of one of the judge, architect Eero Saarinen who would not endorse any other design. Despite early controversy, the long-term success and appreciation of the building has led to it inspiring many architectural designs that incorporate complex geometries through the use of computer-aided design techniques.

Iconic building and beautiful views of the harbour and the bridge. It never gets old visiting the area. Close to the ferry boats and the botanical gardens, which are worth a visit as well. Recommend taking a regular ferry ride across the harbour to get a water view of the opera house and bridge and avoid the tourists boats to save money.

An iconic bucket list venue, my first visit. Beautiful harbour views though super crowded around the venue, plan ahead! We saw Gatsby at the Green Light, interesting dance moves though lacked a story line and turned a little burlesque/odd in the last few scenes 🤔

It was magnificent and looked very beautiful in all directions and also when looked from far and also near. We looked at it from the pier, harbor bridge, 26th floor, and in close quarters. Entry was free to go in but was not able to watch anything. The landing stairs were looking so nice. The architecture was amazing. Sydney iconic building and a landmark. The ceiling was like glass tiled and looked unique. There are guided tours available and a restaurant at the bottom. We sat at the stairs and relaxed. We also sat at the far end overlooking Harbor bridge and spent the evening watching the princess cruise. The place is so well connected to airport train lines. There were ferries, speed boats, harbor cruises, Multi day cruises starting from here

Lovely place to visit . Worth going on the walking tour to find out about the history of the opera house. Always busy around this area for the obvious reasons. It’s a great place to see after night fall too. Inside there are plenty of toilets, cafe and lots of different theatres to see different shows. You can get a taxi , boat taxi, bus but can’t park to close due to security.

As a visitor to Sydney, it was thrilling to see the iconic Opera House, and to enter the building to enjoy a show was very exciting. The vibe around and in the historical building adds to the excitement. Restaurants and bars were busy, not easy to find a place to sit for a drink, but simply walking around and soaking in the atmosphere while taking obligatory pictures of the building as night settled in, along with views of the tower bridge and ferries in the bay, is a fun way to start the evening. Lots of stairs, but also wheelchair friendly. Inside the Opera House, staff are efficient and helpful, and we were ushered to the correct door based on our seats. No videography/photography allowed inside. If you come all the way to Sydney from elsewhere in the world, make sure to plan for a show at the amazing Opera House.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Sydney Opera House recently, and it truly left me in awe. This iconic masterpiece of architecture not only graces the Sydney skyline but also offers an unforgettable cultural experience. The moment I walked through its halls, I was captivated by the design and the sheer magnitude of its sails. What sets the Sydney Opera House apart is its dedication to the arts. It's not just a venue; it's a symbol of creativity and cultural expression. The views of the harbor from the Opera House are breathtaking, especially at sunset. I couldn't help but admire the blend of nature and human ingenuity. Overall, the Sydney Opera House is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a blend of artistic excellence, architectural marvel, and natural beauty. It's a testament to human creativity and a source of inspiration for all who have the privilege of experiencing it.

If you see closely the architecture is made from two different colour tiles, white and off white colour which makes the architecture appear off white in reality. No ticket is required! The place is mesmerizing. You can find, water, trees, and cool air all in one place. It's perfect for an outing. Perhaps you can opt for a cup of coffee near Harbour and enjoy the view.

I had a great time spending 1 hour learning about this place by tour guide. I didn't expect too much before I came to Sydney, but this place is a definite icon of Sydney. I went to see Miss Saigon here. The sound was incredible! The size of the stage was great. There are no wings, so you can easily see the whole stage without difficulty. I sat at Row F, Seat 12 (Stalls), and the seat was fantastic. It was one of the best experiences in Sydney.

It is a beautiful symbol of a human spirit, imagination, creativity, and ability to overcome challenges. It is a people's place. Come and be part of it. If you want to go on a tour inside the Opera House, buy tickets online to select the day and time available, and then arrive to the Welcome Center, which is located underground on the left side 15 min ahead of your time. (Translated by Google) A landmark landmark building in Sydney. It is a tourist spot that cannot be missed. When I visited during the evening hours, I was impressed by the appearance of the Opera House, which turned orange in response to the sun that set in the Sydney Harbor and that day. There were many tourists visiting, but it is not crowded and there is plenty of room to relax. Besides seeing nearby, we also recommend the view of the opera house from the venue such as the ferry. Regarding the opera, it is really a very beautiful place (from an architecture or even landscape point of view) It is very pleasant to eat along the quays. If you can afford it, I strongly advise you to go see a performance at the opera during your stay, it's worth all the visits in the world ? What a beautiful treasure Sydney Australia ?? has here. First time I’ve been inside and all around the Opera House, even got my video of me standing outside the Sydney Opera House and the Seattle light with technology did the rest. This is definitely a must do cost is only $10.00. Only by card though. Take notice if your in the lift. Very unusual.

Absolutely gorgeous building. The architecture is amazing. There is more to the structure than meets the eye. We arranged for a guided tour of the Opera House. The guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out the materials used, the siting of the building, practice rooms and so much more. A blend of Eye catching architecture and history. It's a beautiful place. Even on the rainy day the view from the steps is breath taking. The tour costs $40 per person and takes 1 hour to complete. The restaurant has wonderful vies of the scenery. It's perfect for a romantic date as well as for family. For those who do not want the tour inside, the outside is also a great place to spend some time with your loved ones, or just enjoy the bliss of solitude in a beautiful landscape.

The Opera House was formally completed in 1973, having cost $102 million. H.R. "Sam" Hoare, the Hornibrook director in charge of the project, provided the following approximations in 1973: Stage I: podium Civil & Civic Pty Ltd approximately $5.5m. Stage II: roof shells M.R. Hornibrook (NSW) Pty Ltd approximately $12.5m. Stage III: completion The Hornibrook Group $56.5m. Separate contracts: stage equipment, stage lighting and organ $9.0m. Fees and other costs: $16.5m. The original cost and scheduling estimates in 1957 projected a cost of £3,500,000 ($7 million) and completion date of 26 January 1963 (Australia Day).[35] In reality, the project was completed ten years late and 1,357% over budget in real terms. On 5 October 2018 the Opera House chief executive Louise Herron clashed with Sydney radio commentator Alan Jones, who called for her sacking for refusing to allow Racing NSW to use the Opera House sails to advertise The Everest horse race. Within hours, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian overruled Herron. Two days later, Prime Minister Scott Morrison supported the decision, calling the Opera House "the biggest billboard Sydney has". The NSW Labor Party leader, Luke Foley, and senior federal Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese had supported the proposal. The political view was not supported by significant public opinion, with a petition against the advertising collecting over 298,000 names by 9 October 2018. 235,000 printed petition documents were presented to the NSW Parliament in the morning.[85] A survey conducted on 8 October by market research firm Micromex found that 81% of those surveyed were not supportive of the premier's direction. (Translated by Google) It was funny to see the Opera House in person, for photos, both he and Habour Bridge, seemed to be much smaller. It is imposing and beautiful, it is very worthwhile to know this Australian icon up close. It has a beautiful texture in its "white shells", which can only be noticed up close. The beauty continues in every detail, the brown floors, the floor are fastened with copper screws at their ends. Internally it is literally a spectacle. But for visitors passing through, there is the tip, Opera Kitchen, on the side path of Opera, this is a restaurant, a must for good photos, food and a fun souvenir, overlooking Harbor Bay and Opera House. If you want to walk after visiting the Opera House, on your face facing the city, you have access to a large green park, a beautiful walk on the edge of Harbor Bay or inside the park with incredible gardens and historic attractions like Government House. .. etc. Have Fun! Have Fun!

The Opera House is a World Heritage-listed masterpiece of ‘human creative genius’ that belongs to all Australians. It is the Country’s number one tourist destination and its busiest performing arts centre, welcoming more than 10.9 million visitors a year on site and hosting more than 1,800 performances attended by more than 1.4 million people. Deloitte has estimated the total cultural and iconic value of the Sydney Opera House to Australia at $6.2 billion. On its 40th Anniversary in 2013, the Opera House embarked upon a Decade of Renewal to prepare it for future generations of artists, audiences and visitors. Australian culture reached a remarkable milestone on 20 October 1973: the completion of one of the greatest buildings of the 20th century, the birth of an icon, and the beginning of an incredible performance history at Sydney’s new Opera House. “The Sydney Opera House has captured the imagination of the world, though I understand that its construction has not been totally without problems,” Queen Elizabeth II observed, officially opening Jørn Utzon’s masterpiece on a blustery spring day. But as the Queen went on to say: “The human spirit must sometimes take wings or sails, and create something that is not just utilitarian or commonplace.”

Iconic landmark, a must see. Great performances, food and drink available at respective venues. Water views. I travelled here for the Vivid light show June 2022 at 9-11.55 pm for a walk and it was lively and entertaining with people from all over the city, interstate and overseas convening for a great winter’s night out. Much fun.

What more can you say about this iconic building except it is beautiful! The unique architecture makes it stands out among all the buildings in Sydney. This building is best viewed at night when the lights turn on.

  • 5/5 S R. 9 months ago on Google
Only put in 5star for architectural purposes. Unfortunately much of the venue was barricaded off but it is a unique and beautiful building. Go to Sydney museum for full history as the architect was not invited to the opening. Great building which all Australians should be proud of.

What is there not to love about the Opera House. I attended the Australian Chamber Orchestra performance and set second row to the right. The performance was moving. I marveled at the opportunity to hear instruments from hundreds of years ago. A magical moment. You can feel the history and the artistry as you walk in. The views from the balcony are spectacular.

As an iconic landmark, you should really visit if you are in Sydney. There's plenty of space around the Opera House to walk around it, take photos and sit and enjoy etc. You can also walk to the opposite side of the Quay to get a different view. I'd say sunset time would be the best. The bars around the Opera get really busy and note you are paying for the location not the food quality!

Miss Saigon at Sydney Opera House. Good thing went here early before the place scarce with people was able to explore the beauty. From 3rd floor you will see the overlooking of Sydney Harbour Bridge. The place is well maintained and staff are so kind to offer to take a photo of you.

It really shocked me. It is an international tourist attraction and is listed as the youngest world heritage. The large floor-to-ceiling windows inside are all designed with a slope, so there is no glass reflection when looking outside. It is great!

Its the most beautiful place i have been in recent times and its awesome to just look at it from the hotel having some kangaroo meat and a drink. It is a breathtaking architectural masterpiece. Its iconic design and grandeur make it a cultural gem in any city. Inside, the acoustics are impeccable, offering a sublime auditory experience. Attending a performance here is a transcendent journey into the world of music and theater. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking artistic excellence.

The building and its surrounds occupy the whole of Bennelong Point on Sydney Harbour, between Sydney Cove and Farm Cove, adjacent to the Sydney central business district and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and near to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The building comprises multiple performance venues, which together host well over 1,500 performances annually, attended by more than 1.2 million people. There is no doubt that the Sydney Opera House is masterpiece. It is one of the great iconic buildings of the 20th century, an image of great beauty that has become known throughout the world – a symbol for not only a city but a whole country and continent. On 28 June 2007, the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, having been listed on the (now defunct) Register of the National Estate since 1980, the National Trust of Australia register since 1983, the City of Sydney Heritage Inventory since 2000, the New South Wales State Heritage Register since 2003, and the Australian National Heritage List since 2005. The Opera House was also a finalist in the New7Wonders of the World campaign list.

This was my first trip to Sydney, and the Opera House is majestic. It's so much better in real life than any picture you will ever see. We did a guided tour and went back the next day to watch a show. We loved both of these and highly recommend that everyone should definitely take the time to go for the tour and check out a show.
