Very nice place to go for a walk and enjoy the nature with the animals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the different varieties of animals at this location. You also have a very nice cafe inside to take a short break. You can also feed animals inside this place. This is a great location for kids to enjoy as well

Easily the best wildlife sanctuary in Australia that we have been to. This place is amazing, so much range of animals especially birds! Truly beautiful, you can tell how well the animals are looked after. I think my partner and I have come here at least 6 times the last few years and we will continue to support this treasure

I thought this place was fantastic, much better than the Sydney Zoo, for example. You can get close up to many of the animals, feed them from your hand, etc. And it wasn't overly crowded. There are plenty of trees to provide shade on warm/hot days. I loved walking around the different areas and easily seeing the wildlife that was there. I highly, highly recommend this place for seeing Australian (and other) wildlife, many that are there because they were injured and brought there.

Not the best experience and very expensive ($40). There's not a lot to see, and what there is to see is behind layers of wired cages. Any photos you see that people took, it's almost certainly when their camera is positioned between the holes in the wire cages. Most of the animals are very far from view, and the only ones you can interact with are goats. There was one wombat and one kangaroo that was accessible, and people were so starving for entertainment, that everyone was gathered around it trying to feed it and touch it. I came here 14 years ago, and it was so fun. They had so many kangaroos walking around that you could walk right up to and feed, a huge tortoise eating carrots, dingo pups... everything seemed so accessible. But now it's seems like everything is super protected and very limited. A bird sleeping in a tree about 6 metres away from you and up high - yawn. My advice is... go nuts on wombats and kangaroos and flood the place with them. Let's face it, that's really what we want to see... they are entirely an Australian thing and fun to interact with.

It was the most wonderful experience to go and see baby kangaroos, koala bears, penguins and other native Australian animals close up. If you want to experience the wildlife of Australia, I would say this is the best place to go.

This was by far my best experience while in Australia. It is one of the places about one hour drive from Sydney that you can feed and get close to a Koala. It is about 150 dollars to spend about 20 minutes in an enclosure. You need to make reservations in advance. The park itself was amazing too. You got to see lots of other cool animals and pet Kangaroos. It was small intimate place that was not crowded and just perfect. It was a must and I highly recommend a visit.

For one, you can collect stamps here! For two, that's a serious lot of birds! Among them many are rarely seen in any other zoo in Sydney. I wish the website could say more about it. Definitely give it a go if you are a bird lover. Apart from birds, there were many koalas, reptiles, our familiar Australian mammals, and farm animals, too. The park is not huge, but the space is efficiently used, so you still need to walk a fair bit to see all the animals. Lastly, the cafe serves great burgers and chips. Overall a fantastic experience!

One of the best animal experiences in Sydney. I've been to most of their zoos where a majority of the animals look sad or unhappy, sitting in a remote corner where they can't see visitors staring at them. I totally get it. Here, the incentive might be food, but they have a mix of experience from just walking through, feeding the kangaroo which is well worth the experience. Or photos with koala, quokka, etc. Make sure to do some learning about the birds of Australia before you arrive so you and your kids can appreciate more than half the wildlife are birds. The kangaroo are a highlight (to a lesser extent the farm animals they also have). They are tame, familiar with people, and basically expect to be fed. Their curiosity brings the big ones right up to you sniffing. This gives an amazing experience for the kids and adults, including photo-ops. If they get annoyed, there are large blocked off areas for animals only. So as long as they're comfortable, they'll be there next to you. The gift shop focuses mostly on the animals they have in the park--including the big wombat (one of my favorites). The prices are less inflated than zoos, although their selection is smaller. Still, its also a good place to pick up plushies of native wildlife.

My recent visit to Featherdale Wildlife Zoo was an absolute delight, exceeding all expectations and earning a well-deserved five-star rating. This wildlife sanctuary provided a truly immersive and unforgettable experience. Feather dale Wildlife Zoo boasts an impressive range of Australian animals, giving visitors a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the country's most fascinating creatures. From kangaroos and koalas to crocodiles and Tasmanian devils, the diversity of wildlife at Featherdale is truly remarkable. The enclosures at Featherdale were thoughtfully designed, allowing the animals to thrive in naturalistic environments. It was heartwarming to witness the excellent care provided to each animal, and it was evident that their welfare was of utmost importance. The highlight of my visit was the opportunity to encounter and interact with some of the animals firsthand. Feeding the kangaroos was an incredible experience. The chance to have a close encounter with native reptiles left me with unforgettable memories. Featherdale Wildlife Zoo also prioritizes visitor comfort and enjoyment. The layout of the zoo was well-planned, with clear signage and ample seating areas. Clean facilities and well-maintained paths added to the overall positive experience.

Loved our visit! Staff were all nice and we enjoyed learning about the animals. Got to pat the koalas 🐨, feed kangaroos 🦘, and hold a baby croc 🐊! If you want to get close and learn about Australian native wildlife I highly recommend. Would recommend if you want the encounters to buy tickets in advance. Also, this is great stop on the way to blue mountains if you’re heading that direction to check off tourist attractions.

I am not a big fan of wildlife parks but this was included in our day tour to the Blue Mountains. We got there early before the big buses arrived and it was great! The wallabies and kangaroos were all ready for breakfast and wanted to eat the food we had bought from the park. And the koalas were actually awake! Lots of other animals to see as well: wombats, dingoes, cockatoos and more

Great place to take the kids. Probably a better experience for kids 4+ but great for any age. Make sure to take hats and apply copious amounts of sunscreen. If you want to avoid a $50 lunch bill (2 adults, 2 kids) pack water, lunch and snacks. Enjoy!

We had fun going here. It's not a huge wildlife sanctuary compare to others, which is good for those who don't want to get tired walking. The best part was our close encounter with the kangaroos and koalas! You will be able to feed the kangaroos and touch them as long as you want. Except for the koalas, you need to pay extra fee to touch them... but you will be able to see them up close too.

One of a kind. A real Aussie zoo! I have visited 3 other zoo's in Sydney but this was the best. Made me and family, visiting from overseas, so happy. The koalas everywhere! Kangaroos galore! Both them and their little cousins the wallabies. Kookaburras, ostriches, dingos and the Tasmanian devil that was hiding from us all day...but I'll come back for you mate! Oh the wombats and little penguins! You could feel animals were feeling happy in their environment. Thank you Featherdale Aussie zoo!

Visited from 1.45pm to 4.15pm. It is definitely possible to explore the whole area in 2.5hrs! We even went back to the kangaroo and farmyard sanctuary again bc the animals were so adorable. Definitely enjoyed the farmyard sanctuary. It was one of the greatest decision to forgo tarongo/sydney zoo for this as we got to come in close contact/proximity to the animals. They were either just a glass away or a metal fence away! Recommend this for everybody who are seeking to visit Aussie’s animals.

Went there with my partner for a date a while ago. A small zoo in western Sydney, it has a variety of animals such as koalas, kangaroos, small and large birds and reptiles. Suitable for families, they have a feeding enclosure to feed the wallabies, paid opportunity to take your photos with a koala and educational sessions by the zoo keepers. They have a small canteen and seating area to have lunch, and a little souvenir shop to buy a keepsake. We went on a sunny day so pop on some sunscreen and a hat as there is not too much shaded area throughout. But your tickets online prior to skip the queue and save a couple bucks!

Fantastic wildlife park where you get the opportunity to be up close and personal with the animals. When you first arrive they will offer you a cup of animal food for $3. It is a must buy and 100% worth it. I found the one cup to be enough for me but others brought 2 or more cups. It is not a huge wildlife park but it has so many fantastic animals.

Great for kids and adult. They have alot of birds, different species so perfect for bird lovers. I suppose that's obvious from the name Highlight was learning about the Koalas. They are the cutest awkwardly interesting laziest animal. You can get really close to the kangaroos and feed them. The Kangaroo feed is very affordable. Give yourself minimum 2hours to enjoy.

If you have kids, you can't live in Sydney without paying this place a visit! Great range of native Australian animals that are well cared for. Lots to see. I do recommend you bring your own lunch to enjoy during the day plus lots of water too. I'm wondering if we walked into the snakes having a romp as their giggling around made them seem as though they were.

Love this place! I got the chance to feed a joey and also the sheep. It was a good experience for a traveller. This zoo is a must visit. Watch how they train the animals too. This is very educational for the kids and they also have a cafeteria if you ever get hungry or thirsty 😊

I loved being able to feed all the little quokkas and things. Gosh I love wallabies they're so cute. So many wonderful Australian fur and feather children. The penguins were too cute. This was a great time. Public transportation out here was a bit of a pain though. Trekking from the train station was not very fun in the summer heat but I would do it again. Worth.

Busy but good.. you used to be able to take photos with the koalas as part of the entrance, now they charge extra and won't allow you to take a slightly different photo without charging double.. so a tad disappointing that they just keep milking as much money as possible. Love the Aussie wildlife, they look well fed and healthy. The birds look a bit sad to be stuck in the cages but also healthy and well. The staff were friendly and helpful

As a typical traveler, visitng this place is somewhat difficult due to transportation matter; so, majority of visitors usually stay in Sydney city. However, I have been searched several travel agencies, as a result, I could visit there. Taking photos with Koala, feeding kangaroo must be a really exotic and special experience for my son. If you are a father, I recommend you that it is a must see place for your kids.

I visited Featherdale Park with my one-year-old son and we had a wonderful time. The park is home to koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, and penguins. We got to hand-feed some of the animals and even pat a koala. The staff were friendly and informative, and the park was clean and well-maintained. It was a great way to experience the wildlife. I highly recommend Featherdale Park for anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with the family.

I didn't know what to expect but when i got there i was at ease. Very convenient location being in the West of Sydney. Plenty of car park for every one. The animals are uniquely Australian from the reptiles to the mammals and birds. I Feed the Kangaroos which was a bonus. My favorite was taking a picture with the Koala and all the animals there. All the staff were friendly and easy to talk to. By the end of the park I went to the cafe where there was ample food, hot and cold plus ice cream. When i went home, i didn't leave disappointed. It was a good day! =D P.S They even had a nice souvenir shop =)

Exceeded my expectations big time! Wasn't sure what to expect of a zoo in the middle of a residential area but what we found was a really well maintained animal santuary full of beautiful creatures of all different species. It really offers an intimate up close experience that you don't get at other places. We did the penguin experience and for such a low fee it was totally worth it. Will be back here for sure!

DON’T GO! Animals should be in the wild. They shouldn’t be in those tiny cages or in close fields surrounded by windows. Please consider this before buying a ticket. Place yourself in their place and imagine what it would be like to live in there. Kind of quarantined forever

  • 4/5 Arafat T. 3 years ago on Google
This is one of the best Wildlife Parks in Sydney because of a few notable things. 1. Encounters with kangaroos, koalas and other kids friendly animals 2. They've a unique breed of birds, animals and even some farm animals 3. They have maintained it well and credit goes to the staff for this Original price of the ticket is surely expensive and I would hesitate in spending that much but you can easily get family deals and I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Today was my third visit to Featherdale. I finally got around to purchasing a yearly card, so I can visit regularly, and check out which animals are most active on the day. Highlights today: being approached by several gorgeous little wallabies. And then a beautiful free-ranging golden pheasant strolled by. It was fairly quiet this afternoon, so I could check out the wombat on my own - what a character, waddling around his enclosure, investigating everything. I was so close that I could have patted him over the fence, but the novelty wouldn’t have justified the risk! The little penguins also came right up to the fence, they seemed inquisitive. The striking black and gold regent bowerbird was stunning, flitting around his enclosure, shared by other birds. And the beautiful pair of gang gang cockatoos, showing each other such affection. I’ve been to many zoos and wildlife parks all over Australia and they all have much to offer. But when it comes to Australian wildlife, this is very easily the best!

Featherdale is the best value for money in all the zoos in Sydney. There is no big animals like tigers or lions or elephants, because ALL their animals are Australian animals. The hands on experience and feeding are great for kids. Great for family. This place can get very busy, so it would be better to bring your own food instead of waiting in line for food in the cafe inside. Some enclosures are bit small, however they do fit A LOT of animals in this place. We (with young kids) walk through the whole park in 4 hours.

Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is an Australian zoo in Doonside, west of the Sydney's Central Business District. It's a privately owned and operated tourist attraction. Here you get an opportunity to see Koala and cuddle a baby Kangaroo, and so on 👍👌...Featherdale has the largest number of koalas in New South Wales, 3 open space fenced in areas loaded up with kangaroos, wombats, Tasmanian devils and so on. We had been to this place with kids;had a gala time.

What a treat! After visiting 4 zoos in Sydney in 2021, this has been exceptional! Highly recommended! Great habitats. Good distance between enclosures. Great range of animals and large range. Great hands on for young families. Loved how close we could get to the kangaroos, Wallabies, quokkas and birds. Great staff - kind and courteous. Free entrance for mothers on Mother's Day was the greatest little surprise.

I recently visited hear with my wife and little girl which was a recommendations from friends . The wildlife park is quite big and has a lot to do especially for the little one which can get up close to many animals. You can buy food to hand feed the animals at the entrance it only costs $3 and enhances the experience . If your a koala lover they have at least 20 or more in hear and they where quiet active when we visited. We throughly enjoy the experience as the staff are friendly when you have a question and our little girl had a blast .

Lovely place with incredibly friendly staff. We really enjoyed seeing the quokkas, they’re the best. There was a little 11 month old by the kangaroos! Sooo cute!! There was one zoo keeper in particular that really kind and was happy to answer all of my annoying questions about Quokkas. He had glasses, light hair and tattoos on his arm! The food was pretty basic as with most wild life parks but the customer service was great, was served by a young person named Mackenzie. I saw some lady with her own hot wings from home i’m so doing the same when i come back. Other than the basic food, no complaints really, the animals seem well looked after and the staff are all really friendly. Thanks featherdale 🦘🤗

I came here with my little one on a rainy day and we had so much fun. Many animals to see and touch i like how its a maze and is well maintained they have a cafe and gift shop friendly staff members. definitely worth a visit if you want to get the kids off your hair the only thing is that the parking lot is small but street parking available.

I have been to several zoos, but I am very satisfied with this zoo. The price is reasonable and there are many places to rest. You can also touch koalas and kangaroos. It was a very enjoyable day and I will visit again.

Had a good visit on a Saturday with a three year old. Wasn't too busy considering it was a weekend. The animals were all being fed so most of them were out which was great. Food was very expensive, would recommend bringing your own food if you can.

It is not a big park but it has many animals, in particular I saw kangaroos, koalas, many birds, crocodiles, among others. I fell in love with a beautiful soft-colored bird and we had a beautiful conversation, he knows how to say Hello and he is very affectionate. You can feed only the kangaroos and the food costs 3 dollars. The park is nice but the cages are small, that's very sad.

Cute little family get-away. Found parking easily, which was nice. The park was smaller than I thought. Was cute that the wallbies could roam freely, koalas were adorable, but was disappointed that you couldn't walk into any enclosure and that all birds were cooped up. Worth it if you wanted a short day trip. Animal feed was expensive and the kangaroos were too full. The billy goats were incredibly cute.

Delightful local animal park destination for the family. It is not very big but just perfect for like half day activity that doesn't exhaust you while leaving the rest of the day for other nearby tourist attractions like the blue mountains. The best bit about this place, is the many interaction opportunities with the friendly animal residents. I also like some of the enclosure settings that used some typical Aussie outback items, like tin shacks, oil drums , boat wrecks and so on to create a truly Aussie experience.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but this place was just incredible. The team take fantastic care of the animals. I’ve lived in Australia 40 years and been to many zoos and wildlife parks, and I’ve never seen such relaxed, happy, healthy creatures out enjoying themselves. Thanks for doing such a great job of taking care of them. Cover charge and any costs are very well worth it to pay for the animal care. 🤓

As a non-Australian, I really enjoyed my visit to this park. Right from the outset you are greeted by small kangaroo which you can feed for $3. They are adorable and the experience is a lot of fun for children and adults alike. Besides that you get introduced you all of Australia's famous fauna such as wombat, tasmanian devil, emu and more. There's also a great reptile section with a collection of Australia's unique lizards and snakes. Overall great experience as a tourist and would definitely recommend.

I’ve visited this place a few times now and have an annual membership and I always love visiting. The pelican feeding at 11am is always a treat to watch. My favourite animals to make sure I see each visit is one of their galahs who says “scratch scratch” and “whatchyou doing” while it bobs it’s head up and down and a gentle giant hen who always escapes the barnyard sea and free ranges all day long. There are two black cockatoos that always fly to their aviary fence to come say hi and demand scratches on their feet and head. Featherdale’s extensive range of native birds is absolutely incredible. I’m fortunate to live nearby and visit often as I can. It never gets boring. The staff that work there are always friendly and happy to answer your questions. The cafe also does the best hot chips (aka fries)

A nice simple place to take the family to. Not too big to explore. The onlynthingnisnthat they have mostly birds but that's ok. There are sessions where you can interact with the animals, such as the koalas and penguins. Recommended for a quick family trip.

It was a fun loving and relaxing day. The park is not too big so approx. time spent is 1hr to 1.5hrs. The animals seems friendly and we enjoyed the Kangaroo feeding session.

I really like this place! Great variety of birds and Australian animals. Perfect for overseas visitors wanting to experience Australian animals. Avoid weekends and school holidays of you can they get busy. Today I went at 11am on a Wednesday and there wasn't many people there at all. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Loved all the animals here !! 🥹 Didn’t see any wombats though (my fav) maybe because it was really hot when I went and a lot of the animals were hiding in the shade. There was a bird who spread his wings for us when we approached which was so cute !! It also wasn’t very crowded even though we went on a Saturday afternoon. The place is big enough that you can go explore on your own without people trailing after you. Lots of very interesting birds and friendly animals some of which aren’t even enclosed so you can get very close to them and pet them. However, there was an older woman who was hounding us in the gift shop when we went to go look at things before we entered the wildlife park. She kept saying we can’t enter the park through the gift shop even though we weren’t and didn’t even know it was connected. We just wanted to look at some merch to see if we should buy anything before we entered. But she kept saying the same things when we were just looking so we just left because she made things very uncomfortable and just went back to look after we finished exploring the park. Definitely not complaining about her but she could have been friendlier and more understanding of the younger generation. Still 5 stars though because the animals were so cute and seemed to be treated very well there 🤍.

Love the park. Enjoyed having kangaroos and wallabies jumping around freely and this long beaked white birds flying around. Routes were well marked with places to sit down.

Great variety of Australian animals and opportunities to interact! Overall, nice place with extremely helpful staff. Bit difficult to get to if you don’t have a car and there are limited parking spaces.

One of my favorite places to visit whenever I’m in Sydney with my family, especially when there are children around. You can take a picture with Koalas, and you can also roam inside the kangaroo habitats. Plenty of friendly animals to pet and feed. The zoo is also accessible by bus (the bus stop is right in front of the zoo), and has plenty of parking for people who drive.

Here you will see lots of animals native to Australia. It was a great experience for us, being able to get up close and hand feed many of them. We went as part of an organised trip and feel as such, didn't get as much time there as we would have liked. It's worth a visit as a half day trip by itself.

It's my 2nd visit, 2010, and recently. A great range of Australian wildlife to encounter, and if you can get there on opening time, you have a better chance to feed the wallabies and as they are hungry, otherwise when fed they will avoid you and you don't get their attention. Photos are taken without paying the hefty price for the encounter with Quokkas, unless you really want a closer encounter. It was an awesome experience overall!

I really enjoyed the widelife animals they were amazing especially feeding all the Koalas and Kangaroos. I was lucky it was a beautiful sunny day here. I fed many animals. I loved seeing the crocodiles and Turtles and many different species of birds. I would highly recommend this place!!! I took the ferry back which took about 1.20 minutes to circular Quay.

Loved coming here. The kangaroos and wallabies aren’t caged so you can pet and feed them up close. There’s a bunch of koalas around the park for you to encounter and many birds and owls are around too. There’s much more to see as well. A cafe is present and facilities are located around the park for ease. It’s best to visit around 11am when most of the animals start to come out. Fantastic experience!
