What an incredible experience! The guides are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The accommodation and amenities are simple, clean and the African buffet food and drinks...amazing! I loved waking up to the view of the city. I expected more up close encounters but I'm still not disappointed!

Not what I expected, I was actually pretty disappointed, it seemed to me that staff weren't very prepared & were killing time waiting for accommodation to be ready -were shown 2 reptiles, visited giraffes twice, 4 koalas & 2 elephants - dinner was rushed this morning looked at 2 zebras, visited giraffes again for a talk, then a talk on the chimps. There are no lions to see. My advice, just get a day ticket, much better. Main male guide was good but young female guides didn't interact at all.

It was such a great experience to stay at the zoo for the whole night. The package includes welcome drink (chips, cheese and Salamis etc.), buffet style dinner (African BBQ), morning tea and breakfast. My 6 years old boy loves it. The most impressive part was the night zoo walk with the friendly experienced zoo keepers, they shared lots of interesting stories about those animals which cannot be discovered by the normal day visit or reading books. We also had exclusive tour in the next day morning as well. We think it totally worth the money especially for your kids, suggest every family for the unforgettable event.

A wonderful once in a lifetime experience! Glamping style tents with a phenomenal view of the harbour, canapés and welcome drinks, night time zoo tour with dinner and breakfast meals included. Plus a morning feeding of the giraffes and more behind the scenes tours before getting to spend the rest of the day in the zoo doing your own thing. We were lucky enough to experience a performance by jazz musician James Morrison on the grounds as part of the Twilight at Toronga Festival while having dinner. Over all a great experience for couples or families as both are catered for. A big thanks to Nathan, Craig and Les who were our tours guides. Very informative, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable.

The entire program was just incredibly amazing!! Crew of Roar and Snore was so nice, professional, and passionate. Learned a lot about animals and how conservation works for them. Also, the view from campsite was absolutely stunning! Loved the experience!! Highly recommended for all my animal people, all the money goes directly to the conservation work they work on at the zoo. Shout out to all the staff and keepers at the zoo, you made my trip❤️❤️

While it is a little pricey, it is totally worth every cent to do at least once in your life for two reasons. 1: the whole experience, but in particular the behind-the-scenes experiences with the animals, is AMAZING! 2: the money generated by "Roar and Snore" goes directly to funding conservation projects around the world. The campsite has wonderful views of the Harbour - but I recommend tent #7. It is in the front row of tents (there are two rows), has a clear view across to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and is away from the main breakfast tent and toilets. But regardless, you will have such an amazing experience. You may not need to do it every year – but for sure you need to do it at least once in your life!

Roar and Snore is incredible. The hosts were brilliant, friendly and knowledgeable. The night sessions (behind the scenes) and food/meals are awesome and then you get the rest of the day to spend in the zoo at your leisure. Highly recommend.

An amazing experience. We were really lucky to see all the animals so active, the staff were great and the food? Chefs kiss! Amazing. I was expecting the experience to be a little more intimate, the group was full of families and rich entitled old people, so in that regard it was like a normal day at the zoo, looking at the back of other people's heads and feeling like u wanted to throat punch someone.... So that's my only complaint.... Wish tge group was smaller Other than that, what An amazing night. Would definitely recommend!

Simply amazing! The staff was great and the whole experience was unforgettable. Great views from our tent, the food was good (even as non meat eaters), the entertainment and different events was also great. I recommend arriving slightly earlier than they ask. We arrived 30 mins before and got the chance to meet some zoo keepers who were holding snakes and lizards which was very cute! I do recommend booking for a night where it's adult only, made the experience much more enjoyable not having loads of young kids around.

Got this experience as a gift, and was one of the most memorable gifts we have received. The guides were very knowledgeable, passionate and cared for their guests and experiences. Revisiting Taronga after over 10 years was amazing. The upgrades, changes and focus on conservation is amazing and well delivered. As a wheelchair user, my wife's needs were well catered for with adaptions and communication throughout. Campsite and facilities are glamping style and quality. 10/10 would recommend

A fabulous experience at the adults only wine tasting Roar and Snore. The staff were warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The glamping was very comfortable. The wine tasting and food matching was superb.

Thanks Lauren, Sneha and Tom (our zookeepers and guides) for an amazing adventure experience at Taronga. We explored the zoo during the supermoon eclipse, met passionate zookeepers, fed giraffes, and had an amazing African feast! Featuring Charlie (the 🦭Aussie Sealion) and Jake, Hershey the shingleback lizard and Tom, Meerkats, Kartika(Sumatran 🐅 and her 3 Cubs), alpacas, Thai elephants. Would definitely recommend roar and snore for families with kids or adult kids 😁we had such a great time!! And proceeds go towards animal research and conservation

We had an awesome experience. The keepers were knowledgeable sharing their animal experiences and answering questions. On a whole, the roar and snore experience was very well done. Welcomed with drinks and nibbles, then went on a tour to see the nocturnal animals, buffet dinner was delicious and the tents was comfortable. The next day was equally great and breakfast was filling. Would definitely recommend this experience. Great view.

An incredible experience! The behind the scenes with the animals is worth the money alone, but the lovely food and nice accomodation (though don’t be expecting a sleep in!) makes it worth it. Were very nice catering to my veganism, I’d say this is well worth the price tag. Best zoo trip ever by far!

Great experience, but not worth the price. Just go to the normal zoo early. You don't need to sleep there. If you think feeding the giraffes and seeing the seals up close is worth $300 extra, then yes. Go for it. But just know the chimps will wake you up at 3am.

Please note: for anyone like me who didn’t have a place to lock my carry on and had to bring it with me - Taronga Zoo does NOT have lockers either. You’ll have to bring your bags around as you explore. Spent 4 hours here, but definitely could have spent a lot longer if I didn’t need to catch a flight! Best zoo I’ve been to. There’s so much to see and explore! Plus if you take a ferry, you get a nice view of the opera house and bridge.

Everything about this experience was exceptional, from the friendly and knowledgeable guides, to the delicious dinner and comfortable tents, to (of course) the amazing animals. We booked roar and snore as part of our honeymoon in Australia after falling in love with Taronga by watching Secrets of the Zoo. I cannot imagine a more perfect and more “us” way to start our adventure.

The roar and snore experience was wonderful for our family. Glamping facilities were amazing and all of the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Taronga Zoo does not accept cash and I was unable to purchase food, specifically ice creams for my children within the zoo

My son and I stayed for the Roar and Snore...what a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this to families, couples, and singles, in fact, everyone. The staff were wonderful and made sure that everyone was safe, comfortable, and happy. Do yourself a favour and book, you won't be disappointed.

Great experience, well worth doing. Such friendly and helpful staff. We got to experience a different side of the zoo that you don't get on a normal zoo visit. The cost also covered meals which were nice and plentiful, several animal experiences and talks. All next day zoo access which starts before the zoo opens to the public is included as is the cost of parking. Accommodation is in compfortable, individual large glamping style tents. The cost seems a bit high but you get a lot for your money and it helps fund the zoo. No complaints.

Roar & Snore - what an experience .... would totally recommend this, yes a bit pricey but its not like you are going to do it every week! When you see what happens behind the scenes of this incredible place and the passion the keepers have for these animals it is absolutely worth every penny. Everyone is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our guides (lead by Tess - Friday 31/1/2020) showed so much love and pride when taking us on our tours, like they were showing and speaking about a part of their own family members. For them to allow a surprise private little tour of the elephants for my partner who is going though another round of sickness was a dream come true for him. It has been the only thing he has had on his bucket list and hasn't stopped talking about it and never will i think. Thank you all soooooo very much :), we will and already have told most of our family and friends to at least look into the amazing experience.

A lifelong visitor to Taronga - this behind-the-scenes experience makes it feel like a whole new place! There really isn't anything quite like the feeling of having a zoo to yourself, with the animals active at dawn and dusk and no screaming school kids. The accommodation is comfortable - if you can't live without first class hotel trappings, book the alternative eco-lodge experience, but I'd rather listen to lions roaring and chimps arguing behind my tent. With a nice shower block and plentiful drinks and food, it's a big step above camping. The passion and enthusiasm of Amy and her team of guides makes everything come alive as you pass by enclosures with torches at night. Thanks for making it memorable! Bargain for the price to feed animals and get private keeper talks - it's topped off by a quiet evening drink with the best view in Sydney. Locals and tourists alike, book it for your animal-loving partner.

This is a very well run experience by zoo staff. Their talks about the animals were very informative & educating. They were also very friendly & hospitable during our stay. The meals were very nice & there was plenty to choose from. Our tent accommodation was very comfortable & warm. Amenities were plenty & very clean. Beautiful views of Sydney Harbour & Bridge. Lovely at night when lit up. Met some very nice couples in the group also.

Amazing experience overall, not for someone looking for a cheap getaway as it is quite costly. But for good purpose, you learn alot about the animals there and get a private tour of the park. Food wasn't amazing but that's ok, also keep in mind you will only be getting 6-7 hours sleep at best. So prepare for that ☺️ Would return !

Enjoyed the experience and feeding the giraffe only down side way the rain constantly dripping on the tent roof through the trees made it very difficult to sleep if at all. Otherwise loved it

Lovely Zoo Keepers and team ❤️. It was very educational, beautiful sceneries and settings and great food. They definitely put in 100% in making it such a great and educational experience for everyone no matter the age. Very engaging.

Any animal lovers - you must try this unique experience! For the price, I would suggest coming here for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. You are in good hands, be guided and kept entertained by numerous keepers throughout your stay. The buffet style dinner and breakfast is great! Good quality food and heaps of choice. The unlimited alcohol is a bonus! The two best parts of the experience is of course seeing the animals after the dark and in an empty zoo but also the breathtaking view of the Sydney city including the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from the glamping tent site. If you are able to secure #7 you are in luck because that is the best glamping tent spot!

Highly highly recommend this experience! The keepers offer a wealth of knowledge and are so enthusiastic to teach you all about the animals you meet and see along the way. The accommodation is great & comfortable. The meals were delish. A very special experience!

We had a great time! It is very cool being in the Zoo at night and walking around seeing the animals so active under the red torches. It is also cool to be there before it opens the next day and seeing the Zoo and Zoo animals being prepped for the day. We were very fortunate and got a perfect night weather wise, and our group were very mobile so this allowed us to get around with ease. Canapés, drinks, dinner and breakfast were all great and the Zoo Staff were sensational. The Roar and Snore tents are very comfy. We went in winter and the electric blanket they provide was very much appreciated. You certainly hear the animals and we got a very feisty male lion roaring for his pride throughout the night, but that’s what you want right? We went on a Thursday night when it is cheaper. We certainly thought we got value from our tickets. Highly recommend doing this.

What an amazing experience. The staff, Kat, Waz, Sarah and Allison were so friendly, organised and knowledgeable. Feeding the Giraffes was a lovely surprise and a great experience. The glamping area is well set out and the beds very comfy. The view from the platform at the site is just stunning. I would highly recommend doing this at one point.

Amazing experience at Roar and Snore. What made it truly special though were the three guides who were with us throughout the program:-Rachel, Natalie & Sam. They had incredible energy and their passion for the animals and work was contagious. I did this with my 6 year old daughter and she had a blast. Unforgettable experience!
