Fantastic park that i've been to countless times. Living literally right across the road from this park, I come here regularly for occasional walks, jogs, biking, or even skating. It looks a lot larger than it seems and has lots to offer. There is also a large enclosed dog area for anybody to enjoy and stroll around. There is also a park in development i think, but right now it's literally just a swing in a moderately sized sandpit, next to a basketball ring. There are also many geese that reside in this park, and they aren't the friendliest, but they aren't hostile either. They seem to be fine with people being nearby as long as they aren't bothered. If you walk further down the path, you can find yourself at the coast which is a common place for fishermen. There is also a beach and lots of comfortable walking space with a nice outlook across the ocean. You can also get a good look at planes taking off or landing and i think it is as close as you can get to it. Absolutely wonderful park

One of the best parks in Sydney love the new updates! So beautiful and great for families with kids of all ages. Can feed the ducks , have a play at the park then walk across the bridge to the lookout and watch the planes taking off. Best day out. Worth the trip.

A lovely park with lots of animals and sculptures and other things to see. There is a walking track that takes you through it. Not loving that it's named after a British coloniser but nice place otherwise.

The best dogs' playground in Sydney is here! I often take my dog to J.Banks though it takes 15 minutes' drive from my house.

Such a local gem, this park kept us sane during lockdown. The park has a couple of great spots for kids, a small watering hole with lots of native birds, turtles, fish etc. There has been some black swans have signets in recent years which was well managed by the rangers who put up temporary fencing and hay for them to nest in. Some more developments planned for another kids park. A fenced off leash dog area, basketball hoop and a running green all in a short distance from each other. Parking, water stations and dog bags all included!

Really beautiful park with multiple playgrounds covering all ages. The only challenge is the parking is very limited and gets extremely busy at peak times. Otherwise amazing!

A great place to walk my dog, either on the long lead through the wilder bush area or in the off-leash enclosure - and some great sunsets and rainbow photo opportunities!

I liked this park. Quaint and full of these small birds + bin chickens. It had the audible drone of what I'm guessing is the nearby airport?

Still under development but looking fabulous. Nice space, great walking and cycling track for children. Great large ping/small lake with a lot of water birds. Dog friendly but must be in leash as swans are breeding. Toilets are rough but clean

Wonderful park with playgrounds for kids small to big and in between. Also has walking trails and a flying fox zipline.

What a great park for family! A huge space has a lot of playground equipment and entertaining facilities such as sandpits, flying fox, cycling road, big slide, monkey bars, trampolines, swings, BBQ space and so much more. Easily could spend a few hours to a whole day!😊 +) brand new beautiful and well designed equipment. Has a nature around. -) the active kids can possibly get lost because of huse space, the pond can be dangerous for little active one, toilet is too far from top playground and so dirty, no cafe around.

Calm and peaceful park. Great for morning and late afternoon walks. I love the pond which houses a lot of various water birds, fishes, sea turtles and water dragons.

Amazing park, especially since the creation of the new playground, and the upgrade of the former one. Kids all ages will love this park. It’s also a great place for adults to walk, run, or ride a bike.

Truly a great park for all ages. We went public holiday and the parking was difficult. But loads of smiling kids and adults proved to me the park to be a wonderful experience for all ages. Climbing flying fox and all the other normal equipment. BONUS I found the space easy to control/ watch multiple children.

Amazing and extremely well planned out park now with a new kids playground and various great spots for picnics, one the best but also less frequented parks in Sydney!

A huge new park that was done in two stages. It was a boring park but now it's a great new addition for families.

Family and dog friendly park. The park is spacious, you can spend over an hour walking the paths, with new tracks through parts of the park, and is a great, scenic local spot to get some exercise in. The facilities are well maintained with new children's play areas recently added and a bridge and adjoining paths replaced.

Love this park. There's some lovely parts where you can't tell you are near a city. It's very peaceful. Plus a great off leash dog area.

Sir Joseph Banks Park has a few ponds with a lot of walking trails. The bridge will take you across the road to Port Botany, where you will see a lot of machinery. It is the perfect place for cycling and exercise and is recommended for those reasons.

Bush regeneration is steadily improving the environment here. A great place for walk despite the road noise from nearby Foreshore Rd.

Quite an oasis in Botany. Park, running track, with plenty of trees and a lake. The lake is green with algae, but they've just installed aeration to deal with it.

Great space with something for everyone. Wide paths, plentiful space, BBQ area, birds in the lakes, small MTB area for young children, off-leash dog park. Very expansive so great if you like to avoid the crowds. Parking is good and offered at different entrances to the park. Some wonderful tall trees provide shady areas but take a hat and sunscreen for areas without cover

Such a great park for exploring. So much to do. New adventure playground is great! Love the duck pond and geese. Toilets and bbqs. The animal sculptures are fun too. Kids love to ride their bikes and scooters. See parksandadventuresofsydney on Instagram for more.

Went for a kids birthday party. Great park area, bbq facilities. Large undercover area and a pond with swans and ducks. Toilets near by. Part is under construction at the moment but apart from that is was great.

Great local park right in botany with interesting wildlife. Great for dogs and kids, or simply a stroll in the park

  • 4/5 Mark D. 1 year ago on Google
Large park with pond, ducks and swans. Large enough to have a picnic or go for a run. Plenty of room to spread out. Good for having a kids outdoor party with the undercover dining areas with BBQs, large kids playground or using the footy field. Butts up against a golf course and a foot bridge to the foreshore where you can watch the planes on the runway.
