I have been a couple of times to this shop, now it became one of my favourite! Great variety of fishes specially guppies. Price is very reasonable. Good customer service. It is worthy to go there and have a look.

Was very disappointed with the service, made an order worth $160 and even spoke with the own to clarify! Order meant to be sent today. However, received no notification today. So i contacted the shop to be informed that the team missed my order today! Offered to send out tomorrow! So, I asked and got a refund. As a experienced aquariumist and shrimpist I wouldn't deal with this retailer in the future. A quick message stating my order would be delayed, would have been nice and would have given me more confidence and I wouldn't have cancled my order!

It's hard to find a fish store in Sydney that you feel excited going to, nanotank is one of the few. I sort of like to go there every weekend and see their fish. Highly professional staff and I'm sure about their successful business.

Most tanks were dirty, covered in algae and some of the fish were lying on their sides at the bottom, particularly the bettas. Staff were initially friendly but disappeared upstairs to check on plant stock and then came back downstairs and ignored us...

Usually don't leave reviews, but in this case i have to. Ordered a small aquarium online & was delivered in 2 days. Ace! Naturally it was broken, but from courier mishandling the package. I messaged david late on a Friday night & was surprised to hear back immediately. A replacement aquarium was then sent out. I can't stress enough how impressed i was with the service. Thanks again David

Amazing how knowledgeable the guys are there, the fish are colourful and beautiful. If you go there you won't see thousands of varieties but you will see the most beautiful and color fish with very reasonable prices. Definitely going back. Ah another thing, if the fish or the plant doesn't suits your aquarium they will tell you and won't recommend it for you, unlike other shops that want to sell you regardless. My wife and I drove there to get a betta. The sign on the door said OPEN, but the store clerk was very rude and shoved us out saying they were closed. When I asked about the OPEN sign, he said "web sales only". Wasted trip.

Overpriced... felt ripped off buying killifish. What pet store charges $60 for a less than 2cm killi? I was going to be a long-term customer. You just lost one now.

I posted a 1 as 0 was not possible. Drove specifically from the city to oz discus to purchase a new fish and a full aquarium for it. Upon arrival we were stopped at the door for covid reasons. This was totally understandable as everyone's safety in these current times is paramount. HOWEVER... instead of offering solutions and alternatives for us to purchase from them we were constantly told that they were not letting people in the store and when we asked if they could bring some fish out to look at the young kid said it was too hard and he would prefer to do it all later. At the time this was incredibly frustrating as working in a personalised service I know this is not how your treat customers. Turns out them turning us away that day was the best thing for us as after visiting multiple aquariums, the few betta that we saw that day from the door way were stored in plastic takeaways containers, poorly looked after and were nothing in comparison to what they suggested and advertised on their website. Perhaps they should update their website to advise that they are essentially closed or just don't wish to sell fish!

Been buying betta fish, shrimps and accessories from Nano Tanks for awhile now and David always delivers exceptional service, from being very prompt and helpful in answering fish questions to even answering my urgent calls at 10pm when I had some fish emergencies! David is very knowledgeable and passionate in helping customers. Superb shipping and packing especially live fish, amazing prices, continuously updated and informative website and a huge range of items for sale. Overall, my favorite, most trusted and best aquarium shop ever. Will definitely be a long term customer and will drop by to visit when in Sydney! :)

OzDiscus Nano Tanks are now bigger than before! More fishes, big and small, tropical and cold water. David is really nice to chat with and also very informative. Price wise they can do better but I must say definitely cheaper than Auburn Aquarium in the same vicinity.

Ordered Cardinal Tetras which unfortunately were DOA due to shipping delays. Even though the fish were double bagged,had a heat pack were and clearly labelled Live Fish they just couldn't have survived such a delay. These guys went out of their way to reship my order in under a week and I now have a beautiful school of tetras happily cruising around my tank. 10/10 will be back thank you 🙂

I can only speak about my online experience, in store may be great. I ordered some fish, snails, shrimp and plants for delivery. The delivery was stuck at Toll for nearly 3 days! Must be Toll's fault I thought. When they finally arrived (thankfully all still alive, amazingly, at least so far), I could see why it had got stuck at Toll. Apart from a small label on the top of the box, there was no indication that the package contained live animals. All the bags had leaked. The snails and shrimp were in the same bag, etc etc. I have bought live fish more than 10 times in the past year and this is, by some way, the worst experience yet. I placed an order with a company in QLD which was dispatched AFTER this one and yet arrived 2 days earlier. I can see from other comments that this is not an isolated event. Probably a great shop, but I won't be buying from Nano Tanks again.

Order was delayed but I was kept in the loop all the way. Arrived in perfect condition, with great customer service. Cannot fault them on anything, especially during such difficult times.

I heard excellent things about Dave and his team's customer service when watching Blake's Aquatics (one of the few I trust) on youtube, and decided to purchase my next tank from them. Due to lockdown restrictions I spoke to Dave directly about my plans to re-home an axolotl to seek the best advice on what to get, when, and why, and honestly, his wonderful advice and customer service were phenomenal. I couldn't recommend these guys any more, and their prices are amazing too, I don't know how they do it, but I do know their passion is a huge drive for them, and I couldn't appreciate that more. Please support these guys by going to them for any of your aquarium needs, they deserve all the recognition and business you have!

I purchased a Yellow Flagtail online, when it arrived it was so emaciated and had an eye infection. I have been in the hobby for over 30 years and have had a lot of success nursing fish back to health but this little guy was too far gone and I couldn’t save it and it died a few days later. I emailed these guys about it and I didn’t even get a response. I have over 30 years of experience in aquarium fish and aquaculture and this fish was by far the sickest fish I have ever received.

I was initially very concerned about buying live stock from interstate but I have to say my experience overall was very very positive. David communication is excellent, he is very responsive to questions and concerns, with issues resolved very promptly and professionally. I am extremely happy with the quality of my purchase and would recommend Nano Tanks to all levels of aquarium enthusiast.

I contacted Nano Tanks via Facebook messenger and David responded to my query immediately. I wanted to purchase an axolotl for my daughters upcoming birthday and asked David if he could put together a list of things I would need, he did so without hesitation and all products were quality and within my budget. I've been to 10+ stores in the last few months for various purchases. These guys are by far the most informative, knowledgeable and most importantly, friendly, staff I've come across. I will definitely be back.

Not a great experience for my first time fish delivery.. Yes their delivery and services was excellent, however when I opened the parcel the first thing I noticed was that the bag had no oxygen in it and was diflated so when I inspected the fish one had missing fins. A gap in the tail. I was told could be from transit, regardless I was disappointed with the outcome.

I am new to shrimp keeping and the shop has been very helpful to help me get started without rushing. They have been patient with my questions and very friendly. The shop is clean and the stock appears to be healthy and well-kept.

I bought an Axolotl and a betta, they both arrived alive and well. There was a little leak in both bags but they were double bagged so the fish were fine. I will be buying from here again

Discus heaven for discus loversl Multi award winning discus varieties and they take pride in what they do. Super clean aquarium which is such a rarity these days. The team are friendly helpful and a wealth of info. Ask for Vincent! He is the best! 🙂

A few years ago, we purchased our first ever online live shrimp order, which was very smooth and successful. We recently purchased some more Darwin Algae Shrimp, which we found to be great at controlling any overfeeding of fish. Both times they were packed well and arrived in excellent condition, even after a slightly longer than expected delivery to regional Victoria this time. So put Nano Tanks Australia on your list if you want to get into the shrimp-keeping hobby.

Love this place! Incredibly helpful staff. Huge range of shrimp and fish suitable for small (nano) aquariums. Great range of products to choose from too! Very tidy store that is obviously very looked after. We saw Rainbows, Rasboras, freshwater Pipe fish. We saw blue eye furcatas , blue eyed lemon cats, blue cherries. I could go on, believe me. Ask my wife. A good range of plants too - I'm sure they'd love to do more, but their store could only hold more if they siliconed up the doors and windows and you had to swim in. Did I mention they have a duplicate sized area for Discus? No? They do. I've always skipped Discus like I do with Cichlids, just not my bag. But this store makes you take notice. Also a technical masterpiece that they should be very proud of. Something worthy of a Dubai pet store or Aquarium markets in Thailand/Hong Kong. Awesome stuff. Will be returning, regularly.

Helpful and happy staffs. They're not fazed with noob questions from beginner hobbyist. Came back with live shrimps, Otocinclus Arnoldi and moss in healthy state. Hope the algae will be eaten up a bit.

Great folks and knowledgeable staffs. Very helpful advice for my first planted dry start tank. I could spend hours (and my wallet LOL) browsing in this shop. Don't get confused with some tanks that seem to be overgrown by algae, they do this so their algae-eaters (like otos) can do their work and naturally cleans the tank. They got bettas, shrimps, discus, guppies, axolotls, etc.

Had a large order of aquascaping stones that other stores wouldn't take on. David was able to take it on and hand pick stones for me with written instructions. Stones exceeded expectations and were securely packed. If you have large awkward orders that needs to be shipped, this is the place to go.

I ordered 30 cherry shrimp and 20 glass shrimp, they had to be shipped to western Australia I was so worried when I found out aus post was delaying their arrival due to me being in a rural area, however because they were packed with such care every shrimp arrival alive and healthy. I am so impressed with my experience with this team that I will be using them again and again. Truly amazing thank you so much I am in live with my new shrimp!

I ordered 8 pygmy cory. I hesitate to say this because it starts off negative but I think the response highlights the awesome customer service. I requested they be sent on Tuesday so that they'd arrive on my day off. They were mistakenly sent on Monday. David called me to apologise as soon as he noticed the mistake, which really impressed me. The cory were delivered on Tuesday before I left for work. They were packed really well with a heat pack but unfortunately I had to do a plop and drop into their new home as I had to leave. However, the fish were, and still are in excellent condition so they all survived and are still doing well. Here we are a week later, and David called me to ask how everything was going and if I had any feedback. I said no but I just thought of this - please sell plants! I need some anubias for my pygmies to (hopefully) lay eggs on and it would be great to get them all from the same place. (Edit: found the plants from the web version of the site, couldn't find them on the mobile version but that could be my fault) I'll definitely be returning for more pygmies (I only have one female at spawning size so it will be a while before I make my own) and maybe some killi's. Also David I'm sorry if I was short with you on the phone, you seem to pick the busiest times to call me 😂
