My room was clean, comfortable and had a hanging rack, stool, desk and double bed with bunk. I had no issues at all with the room and every staff member I dealt with was fantastic. My chief complaint is the amount of noise other guests were making at 1 am and even later. There was yelling, raucous laughter, rearranging furniture and animated games of pool. It was really ridiculous. I've never stayed at a hostel where guests were permitted to use public areas right near guest rooms at such a late hour and so loudly. My second issue is that there were signs encouraging smoking right outside the front door, on the covered verandah. It is not at all appropriate to have your guests walk through a cloud of carcinogens to access your hostel. Without these issues it would be a great place to stay, with a fantastic location.

Very clean and an amazing Decor. One of the coolest hostels I have ever been to. It's an artist's getaway holiday in the heart of central station - Sydney CBD, as their walls full of amazing art.. People are very friendly and helpful, amazing crowd.😀 Location location location.. everything you need is around the corner from you if you staying at YHA RAILWAY SQUARE. The prices for the rooms are very fair, as you pay $239 for a week including decent breakfast..

Location is good for the price if you're wanting close to the Harbour, and excellent of you're wanting close to the train station. Overall, very supervised and well kept. Facilities for cooking are very well organized and stocked. This hostel seems to attract groups, so it's a bit hard to find connection if you're traveling alone. Internet and air conditioning were acceptable, although noise from trains may be a problem for light sleepers.

Stayed here for around 4 nights. Amazing staff and service. I stayed here on my first visit to Australia and they helped me in every possible way! The rooms are clean and neat. Close to the central railway station and have many restaurants around. Prices are fairly cheap and a good value for money.

The Hostel in ok, large kitchen but many broken fridge The down part is there is carpet in the rooms, and I guess the carpet hadn’t been deep cleaned for a while so my allergies came out Also I really appreciate there is a lot of sofa in the hostel but all of them are very dirty, please deep clean it

I love this hostel. Great for backpackers and students. My favourite in Sydney. Big shout out to Poly, Adam, Damon & Nic !! The staff are friendly, funny and genuinely helpful. They have really good common areas with a lot of space, including a TV room, a terrace (nice to hang out in the evenings or to catch some sun) and a very big lounge area. It's in the city, but it's tucked away behind Adina and a little carpark so you feel like you're not at the forefront of the busy lanes unlike some hostels on main roads. Clean hostel, good showers. Old manager was great but so is the new one! Very special hostel with a unique vibe.

I have multiple scabs on my left breast due to stress I got from that leech in March I still have them and enjoy watching myself bleed thanks guys blood does taste good, If only he had not said anything I would not have ended up at hospital on suicide watch, and overdosing on diet pills and ended up in hospital 2 out of 3 times minus that the place is really nice sorry for photos I just wanted to show what that guy made me do

BEST hostel I've ever walked into! Cleanest, kindest, friendliest, comfiest, so "central" and even with the added value of heritage-listed!! Soon-to-be integrated into a tall timber tower......... and relocated.... Get in before it's toooo late to see these train carriages and heritage-listed mail-sorting centre, connected to Platform One of Central Station, Sydney! Such lovely staff...!! Great conversations! So knowledgeable! Best hostel by far...... 😃👍👍👍

My stay wasn’t bad. The toilet and shower were big and clean, but the room was small and hot with no air-conditioning. No luggage storage. But before my stay, the lady on the phone was very rude. I booked a non refundable one through booking.com but something went wrong with my work unexpectedly, so I couldn’t make it on the day I scheduled to check in but still needed to pay the full price. So I politely explained the situation and asked her if there’s anything she could do for me and she said “If you book a non refundable room that means you need to think before you book.” I’ve been working in hospitality for quite a long time as well, can’t believe she spoke like that to her future customer.

My credit card was charged twice and I still have not received a refund. My room was dirty and stinking. I complained with the staff and nothing was done. Rooms and bathrooms are not cleaned on a regular basis. My room card was disabled minutes before the hour of check-out, so I had to go to the reception to ask them to allow me to pick up my stuff. In other words, they can have all the time they want to give you a refund (I have not received mine), but you can’t be late one minute for check-out (even though I wasn’t). There are plenty of other hostels in Sydney. Pick another one!

Not very much but some VERY good things to say about this place. Clean rooms. Clean bathrooms WITH HEATED FLOORING FOR TGE WINTER, large and luscious dining/sitting area with TV Room and a wonderfully large kitchen area for all kinds of cooks and chefs. Great staff and facilities and right next to central station. The only downside is you can hear the train announcements and sometimes the passing of trains bit it honestly isn't so much of a trouble when you go wider all you have that goes with it! 8/10

Stayed here awhile ago great location very close to everything but 3 of the staff where extremely aggressive the kiwi girl reckoned she’ll get me black listed for nor reason and she reckoned that she’ll lie to management to get her own way the maintenance guy is a complete sleazy as he was trying to pick up the young people here if they didn’t go with him he would steal there things while they were out.

No meals bit frustrating had to go and buy breakfast and Tea
