Space Q was really disappointing. The images on google are extremely misleading. The ground floor smelled like ammonia because there are garbage bins right next to the lift. My friend and I booked a two night stay and left straight away after our first night to find a new hotel. Almost every square inch of this place was filthy. The bathrooms were gross, it looked like they hadn't been cleaned for weeks. The capsules get extremely hot, they are dusty and dirty and the temperature controls don't work. Not much storage space. if you have a big bag, it won't fit in the small lockers provided and you have to leave it out in the open. We were worried leaving our valuables in the capsule because it's not at all secure. We weren't provided towels. We had to use the blankets from our capsule beds after showering. There were layers of sludge in the shower and no locks on the shower doors and skid marks in the toilets and on the floors. When we woke up the next morning we were both sneezing and coughing from all the dust in the capsules. Overall, a disappointing experience. We wouldn't recommend space Q to anyone.

The pod itself was clean, spacious and comfy. The location is perfect with all the major attractions at your doorstep. Definitely get what you pay for. The hotel itself is absolutely disgusting, dirty and shower facilities are not private. Unless you are 4ft and smaller it's just to difficult to navigate it the small space. The staff are so rude it's beyond comprehension, the photos on the website are not nearly close to what the place looks like. Would I stay again.. No way.

An Unforgettable Experience at Space Q Capsule Hotel : Stayed 75 days! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Space Q Capsule Hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From affordability to easy access to activities, exceptional staff, and immaculate cleanliness, this unique accommodation truly stands out. Affordability was a major factor in choosing Space Q, and I was pleasantly surprised by the value it offered. The rates were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the futuristic experience it provided. This made it an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers like me, allowing me to enjoy a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. One of the standout features of Space Q was its convenient location and easy access to a myriad of activities. Situated in the heart of the city, I found myself just steps away from numerous attractions, dining options, and entertainment venues. Whether I wanted to explore the vibrant city streets, visit museums, or indulge in local cuisine, everything was within easy reach. The hotel's central location made it a perfect base for my adventures, saving me both time and money on transportation. The staff at Space Q Capsule Hotel truly deserves applause for their exceptional service. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The front desk staff were knowledgeable, approachable, and always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their professionalism and dedication to ensuring a memorable stay made me feel welcome and valued as a guest. Cleanliness is a top priority for me when it comes to accommodation, and Space Q went above and beyond in this aspect. The entire hotel, including the capsule rooms, common areas, and facilities, was impeccably clean. The attention to detail in maintaining a spotless environment was evident, and it added an extra layer of comfort to my stay. I felt confident in the hotel's commitment to hygiene, ensuring a safe and pleasant experience. In conclusion, my stay at Space Q Capsule Hotel was an unforgettable experience. With its affordability, easy access to a multitude of activities, exceptional staff, and commitment to cleanliness, it surpassed my expectations in every way. Whether you're a solo traveler, a business professional, or someone seeking a unique and budget-friendly accommodation option, Space Q is definitely worth considering. I can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories at this remarkable capsule hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Maybe it was better before COVID but this place is filthy. I went to have a shower and there was black mould everywhere after that I walked out and found another hotel. When I went back to complain the next day the manager denied it was mould and then made excuses about them not be able to afford a regular cleaner and then justified it by saying you would pay more to park and sleep in your car overnight. There are plenty of good hostels around and a shared dorm is much better than one of these capsules in their current state.

A friend and I stayed here over the weekend for one night, before a concert in another location. We had both flown in around 2pm into SYD airport, and arrived at approx 1500H. Upon entering the property, the bottom floor smelt of a deep muskiness that was intensely strong. Check in is from 1100H. So thinking that everything would be ready by 1500H, we were unfortunately wrong. We went to our pods and the cleaner was there, doing our beds as we stood there. It was slightly uncomfortable. The pod itself was clean and spacious. They actually met out expectations from the photos. But holy hell, these pods get hot as hell. Couldn't imagine staying here in Summer. Waking up at 7am and the pod itself being over 28 degrees. With the fun on high. There needs to be a better fan system or even air-conditioning. The hotel though was beyond filthy. The stairwell was sticky, the bathrooms were not clean, and the women's toilets had the ceiling missing. Oh and fun fact. If your pod is locked and you're inside it, anyone can come up and just PUSH them open. Had it occur multiple times during our stay. So no, the pods are not secure and I believe anyone staying here should not leave any valuables inside the pods thinking they are secure. Location is ideal though. Walking distance from Central station, and tram line less than 200m away. Value for money - but NOT secure sleeping pods.

I had a good time with my friends. The hotel is clean, smells good is a fun cool place with great people. The staff are all friendly. The toilets and bathrooms are all well cleaned, I had to thank all the cleaners personally. The hotel is affordable and location is amazing. All I can say is my money was well spent!

Awesome concept, inside capsules was cool, but matress was just a piece of foam, showers and toilets are small and a little dirty. Inside the room was messy, full of random bits, including hotel boxes etc. No noise limit, so was able to hear someone playing music loudly all night. Also not disability friendly. Levels separated by 'gender'. Okay fir a cheap stay and better for a hostel. Lockers available with room for big suitcases. Only suitable for singles. And nobody overly tall

It was great for short stay. Bathroom was dirty and wet when I visited both times, so, it's not exactly comfortable using them. The bed is quite thin on the capsule. It is quite average, but, capsule is certainly better than traditional bunk beds.

You get what you pay. Stayed here for one night. Actually the pod is spacious and love the privacy that you can do anything in the capsule like in a room. Great location to central station and restaurants and shops. Only one issue for me is about the noise from trains and streets. People complained about the pod can be opened from outside, actually you have to lock the door inside so there's not security issues and about the blue ceiling light, you can just turn off it when you sleep. If you just need a space to lay your head for one or two nights, this place is not too bad. Cheap but simple, I will stay here again.

Had a week long trip in Melbourne over the Easter holiday period. We booked for a 4 bed-room semi private room, but due to circumstances was not feeling comfortable staying in the room. The staff downstairs assisted us an upgraded us to a twin room for a really good discount. The rooms were actually surprising good for what other hostels are like. The facilities that were provided were well kept and clean. Only issue we had was not having room in the fridges to put our cold food items. Best part of it was the rooftop, the views were amazing and beautiful to study. Would stay again for sure. Thank you to the friendly Staff!

I really enjoyed staying at Space Q Capsule Hotel and would definitely stay there again. It was with some trepidation that I booked a room (capsule?) but any initial concerns I had were soon dispelled. The experience itself was great. Fantastic location, acceptable facilities and surprisingly comfortable and quiet sleeping quarters at a great price! What more could you ask for?

Absolutely disgusting, dirty bedding, dirty showers and the place smells like a night club on a Sunday morning, loud music coming from next door venue. Once again dirty sheets that definitely has not been changed clearly showing dirty marks on sheets and walls. Shower head was spraying water every direction no room to even change your mind in there. Seriously don’t think it will be cool to sleep in here, you can hear your neighbours snoring, you can hear them moving around . It’s not recommended find a cheaper motel or hotel it will be worth it .

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was bearable, the location was good and I like that I have my own privacy instead of having to be in a shared dorm situation. However I feel like you really get what you pay for here. The pods are quite dirty and require more maintenance, I took out the foldable mini table from the wall and it was just covered in dust and dirt. And the capsule door rail was dirty, full of rubbish and dust. One thing I found really annoying too was that these pods are not soundproof. I kept waking up to the sounds of people opening their capsule doors and it got very noisy and it was hard to sleep. And you can hear the trams running outside, it’s just very noisy. If you’re a light sleeper like me then maybe consider another hotel. Only a good option if it’s a last resort and you desperately need somewhere to sleep.

Capsules are nice and clean, comfortable to sleep. shower and toilet are very very basic nothing fancy. Lounge area and kitchen area are comfortable like other hostels. Open door using card will trigger beeping sound, thankfully not many tourists during pandemic otherwise this place will be quite noisy when people coming in and out

Unrealisticly small bathroom, can't sit straight on the toilet if you want to close the door. Also very small showers. Hygiene and cleanliness are mostly neglected in this place with the facilities and floors looking dirty most of the time I was there. The capsule itself was decent for the price. Although flimsy and plasticy inside it has got good ventilation, lightning and I had a good nights sleep.

Bring headphones or be aware you can hear things easily. Not a soundproof but they are comfortable. It's nice to share a room but also have the privacy of a little secluded bunk capsule thing. Not luxurious but affordable and a different experience. Lockers are tiny my checked bag couldn't fit inside them so I had to leave it out. Left it there all day and it was safe but as always be cautious of leaving things.

This place will do if you just need a place to crash for the night. I couldn’t imagine being here for more than one night. The location is phenomenal and the price is great. The pods/rooms are extremely noisy, especially with the trams running right outside. People come in and out all night long, constant opening and closing of doors at all hours. The biggest design fault is that the toilets aren’t in the room, so if you need to go in the night you have to walk right through reception to get there. It’s better than a hostel but not by much.

The capsules are clean and tidy which is the most important thing. They lock from the inside so no security concerns when you are asleep. The bathrooms are only just a pass, they really could be cleaned a bit more but not a deal breaker given the price. The capsules don't provide anything in the way of sound proofing, but I've stayed there a few times and most people are considerate to keep noise down so it's no big deal. If you just want a nice but affordable place to crash for a night defiantly give it a try.

I have stayed here 3 times now and never had an issue. Pods are spacious and comfortable , have charging facilities inside, fans to cool the pod. Yes you can hear people moving around outside the pods but that’s no different to having people moving around your room in a hostel except here you actually get some privacy (you’re paying for a pod not a private hotel room!) Cleaners are going around regularly so the whole place is as clean as can be for communal spaces. This place is really great value for money!

I’m actually impressed, I was a bit worry at first after reading Google reviews, when I arrived I went to different hotel first , thinking it was this one. It was located above the pub. I’m glad it wasn’t mine. First and most important I came for a week for work , the price for hotels were starting from $1200 per week . For capsule I’ve paid $ 370 plus lockable locker for my suit case $ 21. So it’s no comparison. Staff was very friendly and super helpful through out my stay. Guys are trying their very best to make people happy in here. Cleaning lady is a super star ! She cleans a lot! But some people still can screw it up for everyone buy leaving toilets or shower dirty. It’s a sharing place and it’s up to the individual not staff how we treat facilities . Mirrors was everywhere in ladies bathrooms and toilets . Which is handy . You have option of bigger and smaller showers. I barely seen others in my room, I love privacy and I got it. Plus At night no parties or noise which is great as I had to be up early each morning. Over all for what I’ve paid I got way more than I’ve expected. I would like to say thank guys to make my stay very pleasant . Next time I’m in Sydney I will stay here again. Great 👍

it's the same as the pictures on the hotel profile, but the shower rooms are small and feel like a live capsule hotel in Tokyo before. there is no fireplace in the kitchen so l couldn't cook. And the Common Room on level 4 still closes because of Covid. l like the sleep box. it gives me privacy space. The staff all are Chinese, you can tell them in mandarin.

Capsules were pretty clean and the lock system worked well. Whilst mattress was fairly thin, I slept well both nights and the memory foam pillow helped. My only issue was with the cleanliness of everywhere outside the capsules, especially the toilet and shower facilities, which smelt awfully and clearly were not cleaned regularly enough.

Amazing hotel! Been here for a while now (long-term) as I work in Sydney and I absolutely love it! The staff is amazing, everything gets cleaned multiple times a day and the common area and kitchen are the best I’ve ever seen! Hostel vibes but you still have your own capsule and therefor privacy. Definitely recommend!

Just got off the plane - I’ve stayed here last time I was in Sydney. Just a great place to relax and get some rest. Love the privacy of my capsule. Right near darling harbour one of my favourite places in Sydney to explore. A really clean and unique place to stay. Whenever I’m in Sydney I always stay at the space Q one of Sydney’s coolest hidden gems

I stayed had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. The hostel had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. There are capsule room. Its very comfortable You have specıal area and individual lockers for storing personal belongings. The beds were clean, and the linens provided were fresh.

Capsule hotel is great for sleep. The Space Q Hotel is great for short stays where you just need to catch up on sleep. However it doesn't offer much else, the bathroom facilities were made for smaller people that are less than 5.4 foot and skinny, they were rather crammed into a small area and rather run down and needs some TLC, the floors were wet and slippery, one shower people can look in see you shower if they wanted to. The Capsule beds weren't bad, rather good long enough for a 6.1 foot person and plus size male. Not good for people with confined space issues i would assume. Cheap place, you get what you paid for experience.

  • 3/5 J T. 1 year ago on Google
Ok for the price and amazing customer service and the privacy of the capsules. Loved the fact there was a laundry with an Iron. The only complaint was only one women's share bathroom and very small , No mirrors and nowhere to put your things or hold your towel while showering or doing your make-up. The bathrooms are too old and a little run down and in need of renovation.

Pros: pod itself was spacious and comfy. Really good for like single or double night stays. Location is really good too. Cons: My pod won’t stop beeping all night and Idk why, tried everything. Was driving me and others insane. Reception only open from 10:30-4:30 so couldn’t ask them for help. 1 toilet was permanently out of order, other toilet was just not open from 5pm to 10am leaving no toilets at ALL - had to go out for a walk and find other toilets if I needed to pee. there’s no lock in the showers and anyone can access any floor with no restrictions - so guys can literally just go to our floor anytime and use our showers. Do not recommend if you’re concerned about safety.

All round dirty. Mould all over the bathrooms, that are absolutely tiny and the shower heads were spraying water all over the place. Very bad smell of damp throughout the place even in the rooms. Thin mattress thin pillow and no duvet just a thin blanket. No towels supplied. 1star is the for the location only. The rest of this place is just grimey. Avoid. Capsule hotel round the corner is not great either but better than this one for the same price

  • 1/5 Chloe R. 1 year ago on Google
I can’t remember if I left a review or not but a friend and I stayed a night to go watch a concert near by and I couldn’t wait to leave the next day, mould was found in the bathrooms, some ceiling was missing, barely enough room in the bathroom and can’t place your dry stuff anywhere to get dressed into after a shower, bathrooms also reeked and showers don’t have locks and are partially see through so whoever wants to have a shower with you can come in uninvited. The pods weren’t the best either I don’t remember if they were supposed to lock but they definitely didn’t there was also poor ventilation and very slow USB ports my friend and I decided to come a little later than the time we booked so everything would be completely ready yet the pods were still filthy and gross, the pillows are just foam with a sheet over it so I’d suggest if you need to book hear to bring your own bedding because it would be more sanitary and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. The location is in a great spot it’s just sad to see the staff aren’t taking care of the place overall the pictures on this place aren’t what they seem which was completely disappointing 😓🤧

Detailed info rec'd to get in the building after check in time and up to my pod. Plenty of room in pod, ac so plenty of air, adjustable, good locker for gear. Bed a little hard for older bones but an interesting experience. Cost more to put my 2 large bags in storage at the train station than for me to stay at Space Q. Noise of trams rumbling past the building was a bit annoying til I got used to it. Yep, would stay here again.

  • 2/5 Piash D. 2 years ago on Google
Pros: Good wifi, location, and bed. Cons: Can't drop off luggage bc they're only open after 10:30am, dirty/small bathroom, for $48 for 1 night they didnt even provide towels, pod was actually very hot even with vent, did not lock from the inside, not at all soundproof, and overall the place was a bit too dingy.

Absolutely wonderful!! Super affordable, clean and great staff. Love the ambience!! I stay here a lot and it never disappoints. Would recommend it to anyone in sydney looking for a nice place to stay that has privacy and is affordable!

Absolutely perfect for me. Stayed one night after a long shift at work, had to check-in late in the night (early morning) and had zero problems with it. Received an email from them, on the day of the check-in, with very clear and easy steps to follow, and pictures attached as well. Mattress and pillow highly comfortable, room ventilated. Only discomfort, I could hear pretty well the other people leaving the room in the morning, but overall super nice place, well located. Will definitely go back.

Be careful! The manager of this hotel is a thief! He charged me twice for the same night and when I claimed him for the money he told me that he couldn't do anything

  • 2/5 Jack T. 3 years ago on Google
The bad: Lack of cutlery, asked the receptionist where the forks and cups etc where and his response 'guess they are smashed' with no resolution to the issue. Had to eat with a spoon for a week as a result and had no coffee/tea due to lack of cups. Its a very impractical kitchen considering there's no proper utensils. The fridge needs cleaning out as has a strong funky smell, black rotten food and a layer of fat on the bottom shelf. Bathrooms are impractical, barely any room between your knees and the door. Reception and check out is meant to be from 10.30am, on numerous occasions I witnessed staff not showing up till 11am or later. This also happened on my checkout, this is very frustrating if you have somewhere to be and booked onwards travel. The good: Good location. Cheap if using booking.com. Felt private in the pods unlike a hostel.

  • 4/5 Nerissa van Z. 3 years ago on Google
Came here twice and it's a good place for the price you pay. definitely not one of the most social hostels but perfect for just a night sleep and some quiet time. I like how the capsules close which give you all the privacy you need. Easy check in and out even after staff hours which was organised very well. Bit of a funny smell in the lift but it does seem clean. Showers is the only thing why O reduced the stars. Water pressure is good and temperatures can come hot which is perfect. There is just not a lot of space to get dressed after you done showering or a spot to place your close and keep it dry. It's very doable tho but bit bigger space would have been great.

  • 4/5 Andrew 2 years ago on Google
Quite good for the price you. Do not expect anything fancy. Pod was very nice however ventilation may be a issue for some. Also usb charging in pod is VERY slow so you may find yourself wandering the place looking for a powerpoint
